Chrysolina Coerulans, der „Blaue Minzen Blattkäfer“ hat sich in Massen auf dem Pfefferminz im Garten eingefunden und vereinzelt landet er im Schnabel meiner rasch zupackenden Zwerghühner, die den Pfefferminz selbst als Grünzeug aber verschmähen.
Die Hühnchen holen mir als fleißige Gartenhelferlein nur den Beifuß und den Giersch gern aus dem Garten. Oftmals so radikal beknabbert, dass es für Giersch Suppe oder Gemüse Gerichte nicht mehr ausreicht… Aber es ist voll ok… Ich gönne es ihnen.
Der Käfer geht wohl anhand seines Namens bei dem reichhaltigen Wildkräuter Angebotes bei mir nur an Pfefferminz nicht sichtbar an andere Pflanzen. Auch richtet der wunderschön für das Auge bläulich schimmernde Käfer nicht wirklich schaden an.
Er scheint sich auf den Blättern eher zu sonnen und ruhen, als davon zu genießen oder als zukünftiges Nachwuchs Bettchen das zu nutzen.
Aber ich bin vielleicht nur aus Begeisterung dafür blind und merke es aus mangelndem Fachwissen nicht?!
Ulkig dass der Käfer überhaupt dort sitzt, ist doch Pfefferminz beliebt als ätherisches Öl oder frisch zerbröselt gegen Milben im Streu und Stall generell mit Rainfarn ausgelegt/ausgestreut. Da scheint das Käferlein wohl gegen diese Art Pfefferminz Pestizid zumindest im Wuchs der Pflanze nichts negatives wahrzunehmen.
