favorite pokemon game?

this is an answer that pleases nobody but is true to my soul. . . oras. i think oras had the most interesting "only game its in" mechanic in dexnav and made catching pokemon the most fun it's been in any game. the only major complaint i really have for it is that it's way too easy (mostly because they gave all the pokemon really good learnsets). i was slightly disappointed battle frontier wasn't in it but also i didn't expect it to return.

after oras i'd go BW > HGSS > Emerald > Crystal > RB > SM > the rest (there's too many games to rate also i dont know where i'd put in games like BW2 for no real particular reason)

#edit: also to explain why i love oras more: hoenn is one of my fave regions and being able to catch so many pokemon in one game is very cool #like you can use stuff not in the hoenn dex before you even get the 8th badge. it's coollllllll #also ngl secret bases being on wifi was the best shit ever. it was what i would've wanted when i played rse for the first time and i got it #eon flute is convenient too i like not needing fly anymore #idk oras is just one of the most enjoyable consistent experiences for me #and the difficulty thing is negligible because basically every pokemon is too easy

So I decided I was going to attempt to make a living pokedex in pokemon home (key word is attempt - i just want to see how close i can get), so I went through all the main game save files I've got to see what my progress was in each game. (Included paldea bc... eventually i will get scarlet or violet)

My plan was that I was going to transfer Pokemon from the most completed dexes first, before going to the last.

So it's going to end up being Hoenn -> Galar -> Kanto -> Unova -> Kalos -> Alola -> Johto -> Sinnoh.

This is going by the numbers listed on the pokedex in game, I know there are some pokemon in the dex that are repeated in different regions, but I'm going to try to keep them with the region they were introduced in (i.e. geodude with kanto, though it appears in hoenn which im transfering first)

Vecchi Mari, “The Town Where Past Meets Present”

Vecchi Mari (”old seas”) is hypothesized to have been the first settlement of colonizers two centuries ago, before their march eastward. Evidence of Hoenn cultures are most prominent, namely the presence of murals depicting the warring relationship between Groudon and Kyogre permeating many former homesteads and centers of trade. Much of the humble town is now underwater off of the coastline.

Reasons for the town becoming submerged vary, with many believing the occurrence was completely natural. Others deem the event to be something much more ominous. It’s believed by some that the bordering forest, Dell’anima (derived from “forest of souls”), and the specters that inhabit it led the town to ruin. Many who’ve wandered along the west coast of Alto-Mare have never returned, further fueling the myths that the land is cursed.

It’s resident Gym appears to have been grass-type based. Curiously, the sanctuary of Vecchi houses the smallest variety of Pokemon, predominantly occupied by ghost-types, as well as water-types further off the coast near the barrier reefs westward.

hey worm it's looking like i could actually fill the national dex in gen3 if i wanted to if i corrupt myself the remaining legendary dogs and use the battle tower/roaming pokemon glitch to get my hands on a lunatone and needless to say the temptation is real
