He's secure in his identity because he's worked it out already! He's moved on! focusing on his career and legacy now that he knows who is he and who he's not!!

just. someone who's not as self-secure and self-aware would not be able to own the aesthetic PLUS the temperament we see with Elliott, who really only gets flustered with the intimate interpersonal stuff because he's a romantic and it's meaningful. Hmm, he's actually hard to get a read on for me. There's a few others in the fandom who might have a better take than me, but here's what I can offer.

first let's grant him that he's older. With age comes wisdom, experience, etc. the older bachelor/ettes are just going to be at an advantage vs the younger ones.

also... like 8 years in college. I cannot be swayed away from this as a crucial part of his journey.

while he doesn't show it, I'd say Sebastian is actually quite comfortable with being bi.

I mean like as comfortable as he can be around people in general.

He doesn't bring it up, and doesn't really let anyone know either, but again that's just kind of his MO, regardless of gender.

now when he's Together with someone, well that's a different story. we stan possessive Sebastian in this house 🫡

he probably wouldn't bring it up with the gang unless someone else brought it up first. 🤷‍♀️

closeted sportsballer. As a former Closeted Sportsballer, I can see this going two ways.

First option: you DO NOT explore that unless you want things to get real weird REAL FAST.

Like, I'm not even talking locker room nonsense, let's be mature here. Even if you do not like your teammates, you WILL still share a Sports Bond with them built on a shared passion, a common goal, and lots of comiseration.

So if you're already on iffy social standing, which I'm just gonna go out on a limb and say Shane might have had... you're gonna have a bad time.

Then after his gridball career ended, it may have already been baked in that that was Dangerous. OR he could have just been so far down the path of self-loathing that he stopped looking at people romantically.

OR OR--part of his self-loathing actually opened him up to exploring his sexuality......

......which is a very nice way of saying he took part in a lot of risky sexual encounters. 😮‍💨 (with all genders! One night stands do not discriminate!)

so if there were any feelings involved, it was... not good or conducive to self-understanding. Probably made things worse.

Hi. Let me just reiterate personal experience here: LEAVING A TEAM CAN REALLY FUCK YOU UP depending on your life outside the sport. Sports teams are a social support group, like, I really hate the phrase "like family"... but literally structurally so similar. If you already don't have a strong family life outside of the sport (like Shane has admitted to, let's fuckin goooooo), AND being on a team is an overall positive thing in your life??

Leaving your team (willingly or unwillingly) takes away that social support. And not just the social/emotional support, but the structure to your life, the routine, the feeling of belonging, the PURPOSE!!!

gee, wonder what kind of feelings those can bring about in a person. like a sad chicken man.

Ok this definitely got more into a sportsball psychological study, but what I'm saying is my money's on gridball heavily influencing his trajectory but since he DIDN'T have the family or social supports outside of it, he crashed and burned afterwards. Contrast with Alex below who DID have social supports and--

he canonically admits he crushes real easy. so just statistically speaking, there's an equal likelihood that he's crushed on the male singletons of the valley, too. Which totally doesn't even take into consideration his gridballer time, which I'll get to in a second.

he also admits his crushes don't usually last very long. part of that probably has to do with a lot with attachment issues (seriously he should be more messed up than he is), but if gridball is just SDV American Football, there's probably a good deal of internalized homophobia Alex has had to either work through or not work through. hence why his not het crushes might not last long.

but confusing and conflicting as they may be, THEY'RE STILL THERE. just. probably presenting more like a "wow I'm really noticing this person a lot lately huh. I mean I guess they look pretty good and seem kind of cool..." he's completely and utterly oblivious to so much, his own feelings included.

so what I'm saying is there was a brief window of time where Alex unknowingly had a crush on Sam and, listen, under the right circumstances Sam/Alex (Smalex?) could have been canonized--don'T BOO ME, I'm RIGHT

as for gridball, compulsive heteronormativity is absolutely rampant so there's no way he could have felt comfortable exploring his interest in other gender(s). I went into wish by Disney with an open mind even while knowing people seem to have hated it and we all wish (haha) that the concept ideas were what they stayed with but alas here we are,anyways -

I found this movie genuinely beautiful with the mix of 3d art and 2d art it's the ONLY time I've seen it done so well as if it were concept art painted upon a canvas! It felt very much like classic Disney however it was very unmemorable and I can't see myself rewatching this

There was one song out of the whole movie that I could say I would've enjoyed hearing as a kid but now it's kinda meh

Another song slapped but not hard enough for me to want to sing it

The villain was just...super relatable and frankly I don't understand why he was seen as so bad when he had very valid reasons to be upset - did he take it too far? Absolutely

It almost feels like they forgot half way their plan with his character as I was expecting him to be MUCH worse when in reality he deserved a redemption arc

An apology even from the kingdom for abusing his powers so much and only seeing him for that alone

His song was not a villain song either it was nothing sinister or evil even so that was disappointing

The side kick goat seemed very annoying to me where they tried too hard to make him funny or even likable when he probably could've just not existed and the movie wouldn't have been changed in any way shape or form

The star was cute and I enjoyed how it was a different media form than she was but I found myself not caring if he was captured or not really as I felt I didn't get to bond with it at all in time for the ending to have any impact on me

Though that may be because I am 20 lol but I think even as a child I wouldn't have been bothered by it much

Id rate it a 3/5 but really the three only goes to the art because that's the only thing that saved this movie for me unfortunately

I wanted to like it but at least it wasn't AS bad as people made it out to be

Id say watch it once at least but I watched it in 2x speed sooo...idk lol the plot felt very simple honestly in a bad way

The characters felt human enough but just...very flat at the same time where I just couldn't connect or relate to anyone except the villain

I don't see why he got such a bad wrap when Elsa did pretty much the same thing and she got a redemption

Why's it okay for her but not this man?? Idk it was odd to me

Also Bambi was in it with John from Robin Hood in the background which I actually thought was super cute :)) Bambi is all grown now!

Anyways I'd watch for the art but nothing else

My hopes weren't high to begin with so I wasn't really let down by it

It surprised me twice at least with certain twists and one instance of actually evil action being taken where the king shatters a wish of a woman....but my shock was quickly taken away unfortunately when the wish was immediately brought back like 5 minutes later somehow which didn't make any sense to me at all :// it seemed like they just didnt want anyone to complain but I think it would've been better to depict the woman either repairing her wish with help or having a new one instead of just... immediately having it back just perfectly fine

The other scene that had my jaw drop was a surprise betrayal that I won't tell cause it genuinely surprised me as it was not hinted at in the slightest beforehand

I understand why the betrayal happened though at least so it wasn't half baked like most of the movie seemed to be

But yeah Id say 3 outta 5 or 2.5 out of 5 somewhere between those and no higher as the art was the only thing that REALLY saved it for me

Now being stingy I would've LOVED watching the original plot they had for this movie as a lil star twink guy would've been goals /gender envy to the max but alas I get why

They wanted merch to sell easily most likely so they dumbed it down and made him more marketable ;-; twink death pipeline for sure

Or WWX repeatedly gets mistaken for being both Luo Binghe and Crimson Rain Sought Flower on many separate occasions.

WWX isn't sure what to think of being repeatedly mistaken for a Demon Emperor or a Calamity.

Didn't know whether the requester wanted Yiling Laozu WWX or post-canon WWX so I went with Yiling Laozu WWX. (I'm pretty sure this is what you wanted but just send me another ask if it's not.)

Also uhh, not entirely sure what was expected of me, like whether this was a canon divergence and/or if you wanted interactions with Luo Binghe and San Lang. So I just went with WWX being generally confused on whether to be flattered or not at the comparison and ripping his hair out over his limited wardrobe options lol.

Wei Wuxian's hair was always wavier nowadays. Not that he couldn’t help it. He was too busy trying to keep himself afloat to care about how his hair looked. And though it only caused some minor inconveniences - such as being a rat's nest to comb through in the mornings - it really never was a cause for worry.

Well. At least until that day.

That day was the same as any other day. He had been wandering through a town, his hair up in a ponytail due to the heat and had been idly minding his business when someone seemed to double take at him and say, “My lord?”

Wei Wuxian blinked. The two people in front of him had a strange....inhuman aura. Due to his sensitivity to resentful energy, he focused a bit more and realized that the two in front of him were disguised demons! No human had that amount of resentful energy - if you exclude Wei Wuxian himself.

“Umm, no. Sorry, you must have mistaken me for someone.” Wei Wuxian tensed up. Intelligent demons were no longer hostile to humans, due to their king making some sort of deal but one could never be too careful when dealing with their kind.

“Huh. You possess a similar amount of demonic energy as our lord, so I assumed you might be him. Hearing you now, I suppose you’re not.”

Wei Wuxian looked at them. “Your....lord? You mean, the demon emperor. Luo Binghe?”

“Yeah. Our lord is half-human so it’s not like we mistook you for nothing. But, how interesting......you seem to be fully human, yet possess an incredible amount of demonic energy......”

“Uhh....thank you?”

“Mm.” The talkative demon’s partner nudged him. “Oh, we have to go now. Bye.”

“Bye.” Wei Wuxian shrugged off the strange interaction within a few days.

However.....

Wei Wuxian had been lounging around the Burial Mounds after being banned from doing any work (due to his worsening condition). He was also in a terrible mood, eyes flashing red as he muttered curses to himself.

"Wow,they really weren't joking. You really do look like A-Luo!" A somewhat sprightly woman look him up and down and Wei Wuxian paused in his mumblings.

"......What?"

"Ah! How cute! You even sound alike when you're grumpy! Ah, if only I had a way to show this sight to A-Luo and Shizun......maybe I can bring them here!"

"What."

"Oh, my name is Ning Yingying by the way. Nice to meet you, whoever you are!"

Someone else appeared by here side, tugging her away, "Ning-shijie, Shizun is calling for you."

"Ah, I'll be there. It's too bad that I have to go. See you later!" And in a blink of an eye, they were gone.

"........What on earth happened just now?"

He went back to moping around until Wen Qing found him and practically tossed A' Yuan at him to improve his mood.

His mood did indeed improve.

Wei Wuxian kept on being mistaken as Luo Binghe and it was getting kind of annoying. After conversing with the demons and discovering that their lord favored the colors he wore and often wore his wavy hair up in a high ponytail, Wei Wuxian wore his hair down. He couldn't quite change his clothes though since black was cheap and other colors were not.

Little did he know that this was not the end.

Wei Wuxian shook his head, trying to clear his mind from the myriad of voices haunting him. It had been a few months since he moved to the Burial Mounds with the Wen remnants and he had been all too busy trying to come up with ways to help them survive. Too busy, in fact, that he didn’t notice the way many ghosts and resentful spirits alike took a double take at him when he wandered around his cave in his red inner robes. 

Eventually, though, as their situation cleared up, Wei Wuxian began to concentrate on what the ghosts were saying as he wanted to know why they kept on bugging him.

“He really looks like him, right?”

“Yeah. I mean, if we disregard the fact that he’s human, then of course!”

“Uhh, excuse me, what do you mean by that?” Wei Wuxian asked as many other ghosts echoed their sentiment.

“Oh! Uh, Young master Wei, it’s just, when you’re dressed in all red like that and have your hair covering one side of your face, you just....you really remind us of Crimson Rain Sought Flower!”

Wei Wuxian didn’t know what to say to that. “Should I....take that as a compliment?” He didn’t know how he felt about being compared to first a demon lord and now a Calamity-level ghost!

“Oh, of course you should!  Crimson Rain Sought Flower is quite handsome, you know! If he weren’t married, all of the ladies and gents would have tried for his hand. Not that his married status makes anyone try less. Although, some of us are kinda terrified of him.....”

”Uh.....huh.....” Should I.....just stopping dressing in black and red? 

"You'd be better off not being a demonic cultivator, Young Master Wei!" A spirit called cheerfully. “Your resentful energy content is so high that most do end up mistaking you for a calamity or a demon. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if you became one of those after you die!”

Wei Wuxian sighed.

Haikyuu Chapter 2: Karasuno High School's Volleyball Club

Immediately after the first chapter, we catch up with the reunited rivals. Hinata instantly recognizes Kageyama (Can't quite forget a bitch face like that) but Kageyama, while vaguely knowing that he knows him from somewhere, has completely forgotten his name. FIRST BLOOD! Hinata tells him his name and implies that Kageyama wouldn't remember a dude he stomped in the first round. THAT jogs his memory. Kageyama has a half-homoerotic moment when he remembers how cool Hinata was when he was facing him while Hinata completes it by nervously asking the staring Kageyama if he wants to fight (while silently wondering if he's getting his first kiss).

Sadly, this romantic moment is ruined when Kageyama remembers that Hinata squandered his talent while he played against him and he cusses him out out of nowhere. Hinata gives him the "I know I lost to you before but I totally won't lose next time because I don't know how anecdotal evidence works" before he bitches to Kageyama about him being on the same team as him, at least being smart enough to realize that them being teammates makes a rematch much more difficult to set up in the future. He asks him if he's so good, why doesn't he make out with him go to a better high school for their volleyball team? And here's an important divergence from the one-shot: in the one-shot, Kageyama explains that he deliberately chose a mid high school so that he can play against stronger opponents. In the series proper, Kageyama wasn't even eligible to get in. Hinata rightfully questions why the "King of the Court" couldn't get into another school. Kageyama shows a scary ass face and orders him not to call him that. This is where I remember a detail from the last time I read this manga: that whole "King of the Court" nickname is not a compliment.

Thankfully, the elder three members of the Karasuno volleyball club come in to keep shit from getting nasty. Our old boys from the one-shot Tanaka, Sawamura and---some setter twink named Sugawara Koushi come in to greet the two, happy that they both could join the team. Hinata has his designated Shonen Moment when he declares that he will be the ace of Karasuno. Tanaka is eager to (rightfully. I ain't forget how mad I was during the one-shot.) put him in his play while Sugaware commends him for having a goal. Kageyama also chimes in with the all-too-familiar "shouldn't you actually have skills before you even think about paying the bills?". Kageyama takes things a bit further by saying if he doesn't sail straight, he's gonna end up wasting another three years. Hinata gets upset because playing with grannies and girls just to practice a sport is hellish training that must not be disrespected apparently so he challenges Kageyama to a match. But oh shit! The vice principal enters and he doesn't like what he's seeing...

Daddy Sawamura tries to break up the confrontation for the sake of the club but they're in Rival mode so they ignore him and fight! Kageyama jump serves (!) and Hinata is forced to bitch out! Hinata won't give up and demands another serve, which he reacts to nicely...but not goodly and he accidentally bounces the vice principal's toupee off. Sawamura gets called off, 30 minutes pass until he returns...

The vice president situation has been dealt with but the Hinata/Kageyama problem is very much still in front of them. Sawamura informs the two that Karasuno used to be the #1 volleyball team in the prefecture. But nowadays...they just be mid. Apparently one of the other schools had Robert Smith on their team at some point because they got the name Flightless Crows to mock them for how far they have fallen. Oh yeah and they once played in Harukou, the same stadium Hinata saw the Mighty Atom guy play in when he was a kid. Sawamura points out the team's goal is to get back there...which they can't do when two shitlings can't even act like they're on the team together. So Daddy Sawamura goes Disciplinarian and boots out of the gymnasium until they get their shit together. End of Chapter!

Already introducing another conflict this soon. Pretty bold. Can't wait for how they're gonna deal with this.
