You know that feeling, when you’re listening to someone tell a story, and you can just feel in your gut that what actually happened is SO much darker than how they’re relaying it? And they’ve put a ton of effort in, right, to sand the edges down. They’ve gone over it a hundred times, beating all the wrinkles out, practicing like you’d practice a presentation or a stand-up routine. By the time they tell you the story, it’s perfect. You can’t help but be charmed by it. Can’t help but laugh at all the little silly bits. Can’t help but see it the way they want you to, so you don’t ask questions, you don’t dig in to the open wound just behind the plaster, you don’t let the certainty that it was Bad, Actually sweep you away. It’s just a fun anecdote now. Smile with them. Laugh with them. They’re here now, so it’s fine, right? Right?

Turns out I don't hate my tattoo I was just tired and overhwlemed and my immune system was in shock and there was a degree of psychological shock because it's this major change despite being a change I want. It's maybe not perfectly what I imagined but that's life in general, and it's still in progress!!! The edges are weirdly cut off BC we haven't done the wrap-around portion yet! Some small details can be added to balance it esp around the small filler buds. The contrasting shades is bc one is fresh and one is not, it won't be visually jarring once it heals!!! Mostly I just feel stupid now!!!!! Issues w control, commitment, anxiety, perfection, etc etc etc

Ft. The addition of sunflowers, a bee, and lilies, because I've never been even remotely subtle about the things close to my heart

shrimp often arch their backs and use their hind legs to clean their swimmerets, which they normally use to swim! pregnant shrimp like the larger female in the back also carry their eggs in their abdomen and use their swimmerets to fan water through the eggs, thus oxygenating them. these two will not stop breeding, even though amano shrimp are not actually able to successfully reproduce in fresh water. I suppose it means they're happy and healthy in their environment!
