since we're heading back into bug season after another warm wet winter, if you're overrun with tiny fruit flies/black gnats again this year, put out a bowl or ramekin of malt vinegar beside your sink/drain/trash/problem area and they'll drown themselves en masse. some ppl say mix it with dish soap or whatever else but i find it works best with just vinegar (i think some soap scents put the gnats off). works better than any store bought fly trap i've tried.

#i have a little repurposed gu cheesecake dish full of vinegar beside my sink and get like 10-20 gnats a day #its fuckin narsty but there's an abandoned chippy directly beneath us that attracts them so no matter how clean my kitchen is....YUCK #tbh they'll divebomb nearly any liquid you leave out but malt vinegar is apparently like crack to them

oh god, I remembered that thing where last year people were accusing me of clonecest, because I drew Ghost n Soap (two very human men that wore armor) sharing a keldalbe. The whole thing was just media illiteracy on their part tbh.

but I was freaking out so hard because, ngl, I was high as a fucking kite and drunk that evening and I barely understood how words worked anymore.

And that thing is now, what, a year n a half ago? and I still tried to be super friendly then and wouldn't just tell someone to go fuck off and learn how to fucking read, but try and exlain myself.

Chuffed: This is when we're really happy- like 2am-singing-karaoke-happy. Odd I know!

Brolly: Umbrella. Yeah this one's a bit odd as well. I've never used it personally but some of my family always say "chuck us the brolly" or something along those lines.

Crisps: Potato chips. American's PLEASE don't kill me I want to live

Bucketin' down: A term used to describe heavy rain!

Gutted: Extremely disappointed. I often use this- very loudly, might I add- to the annoyance of my family

Bonnet: Hood of a car. I find this REALLY strange and have never used it myself.

REMINDS ME, another thing that was wild to me was how "chippy" gets applied to way more than just places that sell fries

I went thinking I understood everything, like, "Ok. Chips = Fries. Crisps = Potato Chips. Got it." But then partner would say, "wanna go to a chippy"

Me in my head: (wow you really like fries dont ya)

But apparently the truth is... that's just what they were calling a small restaurant you don't sit down at. Like a takeout place. A chippy can sell chinese food. A chippy can sell fries and hot dogs.

This took me an embarassingly long time to realize. I really just thought partner wanted fries constantly. I was beginning to believe there were special, hidden fry places that I just wasn't noticing.

I also found out that "spanner" is unironically a light insult but considering the fact I thought they were a Fanatical Fry Fiend for at least a week I probably deserved it. I WAS being a proper spanner.

#We did get loaded fries at some point tho #And they were good fries #Cheesy and delicious with some gravy #Bone babble #To be fair to me though I was kinda thinking of the specialty meatball places that pop up here #My area actually has several meatball specialty places. They just sell fancy meatballs #That's the entire menu #Different kinds of meatballs with different meats. Fishballs. Venisonballs. Wagyuballs.#So like. You could write a book on what I don't know #Maybe England just has an obsession with turning different vegetables into fries. I thought. Like a fool.#Nope.
