Ok I know we’re focusing on Mal rn, and I’m happy about that. But this right here would’ve been a great moment to give MC a chance to speak on how holding the team together affects her since he just commented on how hard it is. Like now you have a bit of an idea of how she feels, but you still don’t know the half of it because she had to come back, pick up the pieces, and rally everyone together again AFTER being kidnapped and held captive.

And I get that MC being gone was hard for Mal, especially since he’s my LI. But he still ultimately got to move on and pursue something he’s always wanted to do. Meanwhile MC went from saving her brother to saving the world to saving herself to being thrust right back into saving the world and her friends again!

going insane over the fact that happiness and care and concern and love is underneath every interaction between newt and hermann in pacific rim

#HEAR ME OUT. they’re introduced and newt and being a groupie and behind him hermann is all huffing and rolling his eyes and shaking his #head but he’s Not Angry. no. he jumps to defend newt albeit in a somewhat mocking and sarcastic way BUT THE THOUGHT IS THERE. and then when #hermann is rambling on about numbers being the handwriting of god newt is in the background smiling and laughing and making silly #hand motions and yes the hand motion was a bit mocking BUT THATS THEIR WHOLW THINF. anyways i’m not done. when newt drifts with the kaiju #and pentecost is there talking to him and hermann and newt r yelling back in forth u can hear the unease and shakiness in their voices and #especially the frustration in hermanns. he’s frustrated abt newt risking his life and is worried abt that which translates out in anger. #and yeah maybe he’s salty abt being proven wrong too lmao. nah actually i’m not joking. some of y’all heard ‘the destiny trio isn’t the way it used to be; things have changed since they were younger’ and went ‘this is referring to them not caring about kairi anymore hee hee.’ like man,, you can absolutely hold the opinion that in kh3 there appears to have been a breakdown in communication between kairi and sora (and riku) due to a lack of time spent with them lately. i personally would agree. but i think the point of all the affection displayed in kh3 regardless of this is that their long-lasting love for each other is still there. they will never stop holding these loving feelings for each other because they have a shared past together that they won’t forget. maybe it’s a little awkward and strange these days because of how different everything has been, but dangit they’re trying man! they want to try! that ‘want’ in itself is love! they don’t know each other as well as they used to. but it’s not the end of the world. it just means there’s some work to be done in their relationship, and we’ve still got a future ahead of us in this franchise. so…keep your heads up

and obi-wan just doesn’t believe Quinlan would still consider him a friend, he’s not even a Jedi, so Quinlan chips off a piece of his kyber crystal and braids it into his hair like a padawan bead. And he’s like “you’re Jedi enough for me, pirate” and they’re just bffs

But THEN anakin comes onto the scene and at first he’s just offended obi-wan has a braid and omg is that a bit of kyber crystal??? Did you steal it off a Jedi?? Did you KILL a Jedi for it???

And Quinlan is like “force calm down ok I gave it to him, it’s part of my crystal.”

and anakin, 15 and not in touch with his emotions, has no idea why he doesn’t like that. But he really really really doesn’t like that.

thinking about killing eve again and why couldn’t s3 have focused on eve and villanelle’s rage and reconciliation, with the near-death experiences we see in s4 forcing them to realise they can’t live without each other? all while developing the twelve in the background with carolyn and konstantin’s arcs? which would’ve all culminated in the dance scene and then the bridge. then spend s4 in the campervan (forced proximity forcing eve and villanelle to tie up any loose ends in their relationship, which was always the main focus) as they take down assassins together as a team, until they finally find hélène? if they needed the eve/hélène drama they could’ve moved that subplot to s3, while eve was investigating kenny’s death

all I’m saying is I read interviews with laura neal again last night and apparently they had the idea that they needed to keep eve and villanelle’s scenes “electric” so they couldn’t be together often and I just don’t understand that tbh? their breakup drama could’ve been explored that way during s3, sure, but by s4 it no longer made sense considering that arc was resolved during the bridge scene. by s4, the end of their respective character arcs, they should’ve come together so the build up to the kiss was well developed and made sense. just because they’re in the same room doesn’t mean you can’t have tension and conflict. the conversation about bill could’ve been more than just a few lines of dialogue, for example. there’s just so much fundamentally wrong with how that show was structured, it’s like the narrative has broken bones. I could go on about it forever
