Canto 6 was incomplete

Literally why are we there? Like, we just go to a manor that's in t-corp I guess. But why are we there? We've got another Heathcliff and he's cool but he just shows up pissed off for no reason and then we leave? Weird af. Nelly, Linton, and Josephine were cool and Hindley...existed. But it's a weirdly low number of supporting characters, and I guess that 1 really important and cool one could have made up for it but that didn't happen. Even the Mili song felt incomplete, like only 1/2 of it was there! Such an odd choice to make at the halfway mark for our 12 sinners. It just feels like a lot of stuff was missing and it's really sad because I was excited for Heathcliff's canto.

I really liked most the characters (not Hindley though that's a personal thing) #and I'm sure that the 'Carmen shows up like the PS5 in our brain' moment probably kicks ass if you know who she is and why we care #which I did not so I didn't really get that. still a cool moment but it didn't hit like it did for other people. #final fight? a slog and tough and tbh kinda unfun at times. I think that kinda adds to it though. we're stuck in a horrible loop. #the initial fight against alternate Heathcliff was still the height of the canto for me. that kicked SO MUCH ASS and it was a good twist

Every time someone says Game Leon has no personality I kinda wanna grab em by the shoulders and go THAT'S BECAUSE YOU AREN'T PAYING ATTENTION. Like with most Pokemon characters the most interesting stuff you see is when you read between the lines. I went into the game fully expecting to hate him and yet he and his "Superman's actually kind of a wholesome dumbass" charms and the way he tries to shoulder the region's burdens himself despite just being one man still grew on me. He's just...a legit really nice, good dude who's trying his best to the degree it's a bit hard to dethrone him at the end.

14. What have you been finding frustrating with writing this chapter?

The dialogue, for sure. I want to nail adolescent dialogue and it's been a couple months since I've last spoken with teenagers so I keep bothering Nugget for "Would teenagers do this?" and "In this situation, how do you think they'd respond??" since he works with them more often. .... Another acceptable answer would be: I get too much in my head about teenage dialogue.

11. What scene are you most hyped for this chapter?

(sticking with chapter because I think sharing my favorite moments for the fic will inadvertently drive people away lmao) The moment things click into place for Kazuya and he realizes that he's been stupid. Yeah, it carries some self-chastisement (a personal favorite of mine when it comes to Kazuya), but it's the moment when he realizes that he's been behaving the way he has because he fundamentally feels different towards Reader. It's also when he realizes Reader is in the same boat, but he's afraid to treat it like a sure thing. (And I get to share all that here because his teenage brain isn't quite capable of recognizing those emotions yet so ~ )

I just watched the 2nd season of Bridgerton and I'm HOOKED. (To anyone else reading this. Start with the 2nd season, trust me) So, my question to you is.. do you think Newton and Anthony ever form a tentative truce? Haha. Also, how do you think they're going to explain that comment Colin made about Penelope at the last ep?

Oh my gosh, it'd be so cute if they did, anon.

I like to think that Newton was just picking up on the tension and interpreting it as discomfort on Kate's part, and so would've ended up getting friendlier with Anthony once that tension was, ahem, resolved, haha. I do love the thought of Anthony having to court Newton once he was done courting Kate though! Special walks and treats and chaperoned visits - after all, Newton and Kate are a package deal, haha.

And it was an interesting moment for Colin and Penelope, huh? I'm actually glad that s3 is going to focus on them as I think it'll be a good way to recentre the plot as it'll merge quite a few of the storylines and create a lot more space for established character dynamics instead of having to introduce so many more like s2 did (and I did actually enjoy s2 infinitely more than s1! Which is why I'm glad we can hopefully spend some more time with the Bridgerton, Sharma's and the Featherington's instead of adding a new family to the mix like Benedict's storyline would've done).

I don't actually think there's too much to explain away though – Colin and Penelope are classic friends-to-lovers, and I actually loved that last ep for them. I hadn't been sold on them as a pairing yet, but the way he handled the Featherington scandal and so clearly wanted to protect Penelope was something that I was really into. I loved that there was this - - mmm, sense of uninterrogated intimacy in the act of it? Like he's never considered the depth of his feelings for Penelope, because they've just been a constant, so he mistakes the new sparks he feels with others for something more than the warmth he feels with her.

It actually made me really excited for him to have his 'OH' moment in s3, hahaha, but I am an absolute sucker for those sorts of arcs.
