I may or may not have just sent the 3 word challenge in my real account instead of anon... I'm sorry. Please don't answer there. :)
When you post, post answering here please.
Again, much love,
📚🌻
Don't worry dear! Your identity shall remain a secret 🥰 Here's yet another fic with my Resident Evil OC: Gwen Winters (she’s an adult guys, don’t worry. However this is still an Older Man/Younger Woman relationship)
The words dear  📚🌻 Anon gave me in their previous ask were: Unruly, endurable and system. Please enjoy!
What happens in the gym....
Pairing: Chris Redfield x Female OC
Warnings: Swearing, Spoiler Free 😊
Genre: Angsty Romance
“Sure, throw me in the fire like you always do, Leon!“ Chris snaps, clenching his fists tightly as he glares at his best friend while the two stand in the dimly lit gym.
“Chris, you’re a BSAA captain, for the love of God! You should know better than to complain about something as little as this!“ Leon, while significantly calmer tone and demeanor-wise, is glaring daggers of his own.
“Why me, damn it?! And why her?!“ Chris is not done with his attempts to get out of the situation Leon’s trying to land him in and his partner’s honestly done with it.
“And why not?! You see the same potential I see, why would it be so hard to train her? She’s a quick learner, she’s disciplined when she wants to be and she’s already skilled to a certain degree. You’ve made soldiers out of total wimps before, why is she such a hassle to you?!“
“Because she’s disciplined when she wants to be and I guarantee she won’t want to when she’s around me. She’s unruly, selfish, arrogant and a Chris-phobe. I’m telling you, she hates me!“
It’s about time Leon’s had enough of this conversation. To be honest, he was done with it as soon as it started but he stayed, thinking he’d be able to change Chris’ mind but seeing as how this is a hopeless case, he’s just been wasting his time. “Does she? Or are you projecting your hate for her onto her?” Slinging his duffel bag containing his training gear over his shoulder, Leon finally makes that realization that these are ten minutes of his life he’ll never get back and storms out of the gym without another word.
Chris doesn’t attempt to stop him, in fact, he’s relieved he left. He sighs, silently hating himself for all the shit he said and how he meant none of it. It was all hard bullshit and he doesn’t know whether to be thankful or disappointed that Leon didn’t realize. Either way, he’s been cleared of possible suspicion, even if training the newest BSAA rookie still remains as his task.
Gwen Winters, she’s such a fucking handful. One cannot tell if it’s because she’s angry with the world, angry with herself or just straight up picked up on the habits of the family that took her in when she was rescued from Raccoon City where she was held as an experiment hamster. A chemistry project basically. Ethan and Mia were recovering from the events back in Louisiana at the time, still probably are, that is not some shit you get over, so they thought having another person in the house would help them. And help Gwen did. See, Gwen isn’t a handful with everyone. In fact, she’s a real sweetheart and Chris knows it too, despite his bogus claims. He knows she’s got a heart and soul of gold and is built with the will of a BSAA soldier already. All she needs is a bit better fighting skills and she’s good to go.
He sees how she acts with everyone around him. She’s been quick to make friends with Jill and his sister Claire and she’s even got Leon’s liking and trust which is hella hard to get, especially after all the shit with Ada. She’s overall a super sweet and lovely girl, even with him from time to time. He’s seen her welcoming, friendly smiles whenever he stops by the Winters’ home. He’s heard her laugh at the jokes he rarely cracks.
Then why does she act like she hates him so often? And why does he claim he hates her?
Chris is snapped back to reality by the sound of rough impact. It’s a very distinct noise, one he places immediately: the sound of fists hitting a punching bag. It’s the middle of the night, almost midnight actually, and knowing how lazy the soldiers on his team are, he can only assume it’s either his sister or Jill, given that Leon just left. However, they’ve had people sneak in to train for free before, so it’d be for the best if he went to check who was releasing some pent up energy on the poor punching bag. Judging by the intensity of the punches being thrown, sounds like the person might be angry as well.
And they have every right to be. Because they are Gwen.
Chris’ face goes a bit red at the sight of the infuriated rookie giving the punching bag her all, punishing it the way she’d want to do to her superior she just heard call her all the names she hates being referred by.
“Winters I-“
“Unruly?“ Punch “Selfish?” Punch “Arrogant?” Punch
She stills herself, sighing and wiping the droplets of sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand, “You say all that and expect me not to be a Chris-phobe?” She lets out a bitter laugh, rolling her shoulders before continuing her wrath over the piece of equipment she’s threatening to destroy. She hasn’t spared him a single look yet, something he’s rather grateful for because the last thing he wants to see is whatever her gaze is hiding right now. “I’ll talk to Leon.” She says, her voice leveled and breathy, far from the pissed off tone she was just using. This calmness is a lot scarier though. “I’ll tell him I don’t want you to be my trainer. To be perfectly clear, I never wanted you to train me in the first place. I’m just not the type to complain, you know. I’m not picky. Beggers can’t be choosers. I take what I can get. And you were all I was offered, but...” she trails off, delivering a particularly hard punch, “It’s not gonna work. I may not be picky, but I know when to draw the line. I know when I deserve better.”
“Kid, you really have no idea what the case really is here.“ He attempts desperately, taunted by the thought of acting on his instincts and approaching her even if that means being the recipient of one of those hard punches.
“You know, I’m strong. I’m skilled. I can hold my own in a fight quite nicely. I’m endurable. I’m not afraid to work my ass off and sweat and pant like a dog after workouts. There’s not a line I wouldn’t cross, but you still choose to make me feel lesser than any soldier you’ve ever come across, that’s really lovely of you, Captain Redfield.“
“Winters, please...“
“It’s ok, I won’t tell Ethan and Mia. I’m sure they’ll send you to hell over it. I’m not petty like that.“
He’s had enough. He’s had enough of hearing that hurt tone in her voice. He’s done hearing these words she’s so certain are true but aren’t. He’s done lying to her and to himself. Before he can even think twice about it, he grabs her by the arms gently but firmly, turning her to face him despite her hostile attempts to free herself from his hold like a wild animal caught in a trap. He’s surprised when she relaxes, probably seeing that as a quicker way out of the situation rather than struggling though if she tried to free herself any longer he would’ve probably let her go.
“Fucking hell, Gwen, listen to me.“ He looks her dead in the eyes, catching onto the spark of shock created by his use of her first name. But he also sees something else, something that looks dangerously a lot like tears. He knows she won’t cry, especially not in front of him, but knowing that he’s the cause behind the welling of those crystal droplets in her always shiny, always smiling eyes breaks him. When she doesn’t look away nor protest, he continues, “I can’t be your captain. I can’t be your trainer. I can’t be any of that. I’m a strictly professional man, and it’d be highly unprofessional of me to take you in as my soldier.”
“But why?“ She’s fully aware she sounds like a whiny kid - exactly how she thinks he envisions her sometimes - but she couldn’t care less. She wants and needs answers. She knows she won’t be able to fall asleep or keep coming back to the training center if she doesn’t get them.
It’s blatantly clear this is far from easy for Chris. His first instinct is to look away, let go of her, run away like he always does - not that she’d let him do such a thing but still. He’s finds the words impossible to spit out yet he oh so desperately feels the need to get them out of his system. And so, he gathers all the strength within him and finally forces himself to say it.
“Because a captain isn’t supposed to look at a soldier the way I look at you.“
Sure, it sounds cryptic as heck but he has no doubt she’ll catch on. Gwen is a smart and sharp girl, among many other things. She confirms this when barely three seconds after he’s said it, he notices her eyes widening
“Sir, I-“
“Don’t.“ He says simply, a small, regretful smile playing across his lips as his hand slides down her arm to take hold of hers, “I just admitted my dirtiest secret to you and you are still gonna remind me how unprofessional I am by using my title, Kid?“
She purses her lips, the shock momentarily replaced by her signature mild glare, “Well, you just admitted your biggest secret to me and yet you still choose to call me ‘Kid’, huh?”
He chuckles, letting his other hand repeat the movements of the first, “Sorry, force of habit.” His thumbs brush against her knuckles briefly as his head falls, his gaze fixating on where their bodies are connected, “You know, I didn’t tell you this to get myself any pity or anything. I just wanted you to understand and....wanted to get it off my chest. Ethan will kill me if he finds out, won’t he?” He suddenly asks, regaining the courage to look up at her once again.
She giggles, “Who says he’s gonna find out?”
Chris bites the inside of his cheek, shaking his head, “You’re right, there’s nothing really to find out abo-”
Gwen has never been a chatter nor can she tolerate when people beat around the bush so she’s quick to cut them off sometimes, no matter how rude that may seem or sound. However, just to clarify, her chosen method of cutting a person off isn’t always kissing them. Just saying - this is a special situation requiring special methods.
Taken aback by the sudden feeling of her lips on his, Chris’ eyes close automatically but not even a second later he responds to the kiss properly: wrapping his arms around Gwen’s waist as her hands travel up to cup his face. The kiss is short - too short if either of them is to be asked - but it’s worth all the words they didn’t say despite wanting to.
When they pull away, Gwen gives him a mischievous smile, “Now he could find out about that and then shit would go south. That’d suck, wouldn’t it Chris?“
He’s only ever heard her say his name twice, once in passing conversation with Claire and once earlier when she paraphrased his term ‘Chris-phobe’, both time spoken with some dose of dislike he now realizes was a cover-up all along. Turns out the two are a lot more alike than they initially thought. Regardless, hearing her say his name with fondness instead of bitterness makes his heart flutter, his body yearn to have her closer, his lips wanting to be in contact with hers again. But he’s a patient and self-controlled man, he’s nothing if not willpower sculpted in a human body, so he keeps his distance, waiting for her to pick the moves, waiting for her to make the decisions just like she’s his captain.
“Big time.“ He manages to say, voice coarse all of a sudden, barely able to leave his throat. “So it stays here, right?”
She giggles again, bringing her lips within an inch or two away from his, taunting him, threatening to break his self-control, “What happens in the gym stays in the gym, Redfield.”
Golden rules of discretion, ones he mustn’t break ever. Especially not when his captain - Captain Gwen Winters - holds so much power over him.

Tumblr media
Sirius liked to believe he was a pleasant person. At least for the most part, and considering his background, he thought he did pretty good. He may not have been an angel but he had good friends, he helped those around him and unless your name was Severus, he was usually kind. Usually. Unfortunatly there were two people in this world that could break his carefully crafted exterior in a matter of seconds. They both shared his name.
The first was his mother, someone who in all honesty he saw as less of a human and more of a grotesque creature from a child’s nightmare. In his mind, her black heels were replaced by sharp talons. Her long fingernails were claws of obsidian and her dark eyes had the ability to turn you to stone. She had spent her time in Sirius’ life diminishing him to nothing more than a clone of her terror as he tried to make himself anything but.
The second was a success story. The clone of his mother’s terror. His beloved twin, y/n Black or as many had taken to calling her recently; the Slytherin Queen. And boy was she. She followed every order dispatched to her, obeyed every demand, bowed before the monster that had raised her. She had kept on her blindfold her mother had placed on her the minute she had entered the world. Maybe it only took the twelve minutes which y/n had emerged before Sirius for her to fall under a spell which even the youngest black had started to break from.
Sirius was never sure what happened to you. You always sat with your back straight at the dinner table. You never complained about the corset which was always sinched too tight, you would just let your vision go dark from the lack of oxygen. And it completely infuriated him.
Sirius really wished he hadn’t cared when he had gotten the letter. He really wished he had thrown a party and done something stupid like set off fireworks in the common room. But he hadn’t. He had instead demolished an entire bottle of fire whiskey crying because, fuck it hurt to be tossed aside by the people who were supposed to love you most.  The next morning he dragged you into an empty classroom hungover and still smelling of liquor and asked you what he fuck had happened.
You had told him you begged your mother not to, you told a sob story about a sad little argument in which you- the obvious victim -had fought for his place on the banner in your living room.
The truth had been very different, his mother had exposed the fact that it was indeed your idea to kick him from the family, that you were convinced he was a disgrace, nothing more than a bug to squash under your boot. He wished he could believe you not his monster. But he knew you. He knew you so goddamn well. You were his twin. His other half. He saw the way your eyes darted away from his own, you shifted on your feet, how you bit the inside of your cheek. You had lied. You had lied to him and he would never forgive you for it.
“And what is the M.O.M classification of the Phoenix?” Merrythought asked. Your hand shot in the air. “Ms. Black?”
“An XXXX professor, although it did not earn this rating from its aggression but only because so few wizards have been able to domesticate it.” You explained and Sirius rolled his eyes.
“Correct Ms. Black, five points to Slytherin.” The teacher praised, you beamed still sitting straight as a board.
Sirius let out a cough that sounded suspiciously like the words ‘Kiss ass’ earning a few giggles from the surrounding students.
You pretended you didn’t hear him, hand tightening around your quill.
James watched as your knuckles went white, How did your brother still bother you? He wondered.
Sirius leaned back in the chair next to him mumbling something unnecessarily rude. James fought the urge to roll his eyes. When class was dismissed Sirius made a point to pass you as you packed up.
“You’ll make an excellent death eater sis.” He taunted and you paused for a moment but refused to comment.
Sirius left the classroom James followed risking a glance over this shoulder to see you being joined by a blonde boy and the Lestrange sisters. Sirius caught him looking and sneered, “A bunch of future murders. Fuckin’ assholes.”
“You know you could give her a rest, you haven’t even spoken in like a year,” James suggested.
Sirius scoffed, “And who’s fault is that?”
James shrugged, knowing the awnser.
“You know she’s ghosting Reg too?” Sirius glowered, “He always looked up to her too, I have no clue why, but he did. And now she won’t even talk to him.”
Remus and Peter joined the pair as they made their way into the Grand Hall.
“Talking about y/n?” Remus inferred.
“Hard not to when she’s such a bitch.”
James cringed at his friend’s choice of words.  “I’m hungry, let's get some food.” He spoke attempting to change the topic.
“Why else would be in here?” Remus laughed.
James cracked a smile opening his mouth to speak but was cut off.
“Oh shit.” Sirius cussed.
“What did you do?” Remus sighed, rolling his eyes.
“I didn’t do anything but can you get me food and meet me in the common room, I may or may not be avoiding Marleen,” Sirius spoke ducking behind James.
“Sure, just get out of here, I really don’t want to hear her voice right now.” Peter cringed at the memory of being yelled at by the sharp toned girl.
“I’ll get food, you guys ditch,” James suggested. The other three agreed to leave the hall as the fourth grabbed four plates filling each and flicking his wand causing them to float in the air surrounding him.
James then made his way from the hall. As he turned out of the door he ran straight into someone, stumbling backward a bit he straightened his gaze to see you, your group of what he supposed were friends sneered at him.
“You guys go on, I’ll catch up.” You spoke, voice monotone.
They silently agreed, leaving you with the curly-haired boy who now pushed his glasses nervously up his nose.
“Hey Potter, I need to talk to you.”  James would never admit he was scared of you but he did feel his heart leap to his throat at your words.
“What’s up?” He asked hoping you didn’t catch as the sentence wavered slightly.
You bit your lip glancing down at your feet before looking up to meet his gaze. “I wanted to thank you.”
That is not what he expected you to ask.
“I can’t even begin to say how relieved I am that you took Sirius in. Please thank your parents for me as well.” You seemed almost nervous, “I actually have something for you.”
James could not believe that the words you were saying were actually coming out of your mouth. He had expected you to cuss at him, call him a blood traitor amongst other names and then follow your friends into the hall. But you were thanking him instead.
You rummaged in your bag before removing a red box about the size of a wide bookmark. You held it out to the boy.
James stared at you half expecting you to break out laughing and reveal the joke.
“Stop looking at me like that.” You mumbled shoving the gift at his chest.
“Sorry.” James murmured opening the box eyes widening. Inside was a watch, a damn nice one. It looked to be at least plated with gold, if not solid. Its inside was a scarlet red with three different faces, one of which instead of showing roman numerals around the edge showed the phases of the moon. The strap was a reddish leather, clasp gold as well.
“Here, watch this.” You spoke stepping closer and carefully removing the watch from its velvet cushion. You held it delicately, pressing an almost invisible button on the side. In a flash two delicate golden wings erupted from the sides of the device and James realized in fascination that the watch now appeared to look like a snitch, you paid no mind flipping it over to reveal a small square gap on the back. “It’s enchanted with an undetectable extension charm so you can put just about anything in it.” You explained clicking the small button again.
James watched in marvel as the wings fluttered closed closing the gap seamlessly.  “This is amazing y/n,” He whispered looking up at you only to realize you were centimeters away. He could feel your breath fan over his cheeks. It was cold and minty.
“It’s nothing compared to what you’ve done for me.” You reasoned sliding the watch back into its case and stepping backward. “And before you say you can’t accept it remember that I have plenty of money.”
Those were going to be the next words out of his mouth.
“I have one more thing to ask you, James.” You seemed really nervous now, you hoisted the strap of your bag back up over your shoulder. “How’s Sirius? Is he okay?”
You had baffled him once again.
“I know I should be asking him that but ever since last year he would sooner light me on fire than have a civil conversation with me.” You sighed.
The Chaser stared at you, this is not how he thought your conversation would go.
“So is he okay?” You asked again, almost urgently.
“Yeah, he’s fine.” James assured you, “He’s a little moody but overall he’s good.”
“Have his panic attacks stopped?” You questioned.
James who had no clue he even got those nodded, “I think so.”
“Mental breakdowns?”
James ran his hands through his hair, “He gets them every once and awhile, Moony and I help him through though.”
You gave a weak smile and stepped forward wrapping your arms around his neck, placing your forehead on his chest. James froze, slowly letting his arms hold your waist, “I honestly can’t thank you enough. You’re a godsend Potter.” You mumbled. You stepped away a few seconds later crimson kissing your cheeks. “Don’t tell Siri we talked. He’ll be pissed.” And with that, you left.
James felt his heart hammer as he sucked in the air he didn’t realize he had stopped breathing. What just happened?
James had had a crush on you the second you locked eyes centuries ago on platform 9 and ¾. You were the main reason he had looked so long for a certain compartment. A compartment that contained a set of twins, one of which would become his best friend. You had always been very pretty, your strong attitude had aided in that conclusion as well. He thought you were going to be very good friends with him. That was until you were sorted into Slytherin and Sirius soon revealed his rivalry with you.
He had still harbored feelings for you, small ones he chose to ignore most of the time. He never told a soul, passing his feelings from girl to girl. He proved to be quite good at burying them. You also showed just how good you were at unearthing his secrets with a laugh, a wide smile or the save of a quaffle. The feeling of you in his arms rested in his mind for a long time. He dreamt of you, yearned to hold you again. You had smelt like caramel and cinnamon, you fit into his chest as a puzzle piece did to its neighbor. He really wished you hadn’t hugged him.
As your sixteenth birthday approached both twins appeared to be more and more on edge. James was dead set on throwing a massive party but Sirius didn’t seem into it. As the day loomed closer he got jumpy, almost paranoid; as if someone was going to lean out from behind him and throw a bag over his head before dragging him away.
James also began to notice your absences from classes. More and more often you were simply gone, not being anywhere for days before appearing out of nowhere. You always looked so pale when you got back from wherever you had gone, the circle under your eyes always looked darker. He had asked Sirius what was up but got nowhere, he would just lick his lips and say nothing was wrong. A blatant lie.
You disappeared four days before the 3rd and was gone the entire week. Sirius refused to go to classes that week as well, claiming to be sick, which was fair considering he looked white as a ghost most of the time.
When you finally returned it looked as if you had been kissed by a dementor. Your face was vacant of any color, your usually vibrant eyes looked pale, bags underneath them bruised brown.
Both James and Sirius simultaneously tried to convince themselves you just had a stomach bug, that your sunken cheeks were nothing to be concerned about. Both knew they were wrong.
Sirius found you easily. He knew you too well. You always snuck outside, even when you were younger you would always sneak to the park a few blocks away to escape your mother’s rage. Until you learned to play with fire rather than run from it.
He followed you to the greenhouse. You had always liked herbology.
You turned at the shuffle of feet to see your brother, he looked almost as terrible as you did.
“Did you do it?” He asked, his voice sounding so empty as muffled chirps of crickets flowed through the cold November air.
You refused to look up, You sat in the corner of the cold glass house, your knees pulled to your chest, eyes cast on your dress shoes.
“Did you really go through with it?” His voice cracked, he stumbled over his own feet.
You still didn’t answer. Tears had built so thickly in your eyes you couldn’t see. You blinked and they went cascading downwards, raindrops leaking off your chin.
“Answer me y/n!” Sirius cried through gritted teeth, tears of his own threatening to spill.
“We have to get Regulus out of that house.” You spoke so plainly it was hard to believe that the words had come from you. “Fuck Siri they have a new initiation ceremony. He can’t go through with that.”
“Shit y/n/n, what did you do?” His voice was a mix of disgust and despair.
“I don’t fucking know.” You answered honestly.
“Did you kill someone?” He hissed.
“I wish I did Siri, I really wish I did.”
Sirius dropped his shoulders a defeated sigh coming from his lips.
“We have to get him out soon Siri. He is so much more stubborn than you were too.” You whimpered. “I mean you practically disowned yourself, mom just needed a push with you.”
“Why did you give her that push?” Sirius gasped, “Why did you do that? I could have helped you.”
“I saved you, Sirius.” Your sentence broke in half, “I know you hate me for it but I saved you.”
Sirius wiped his eyes furiously, “How did you possibly save me y/n?” He seethed.
“What do you think mom would have done if you were still in that house four days ago?” You asked. You knew he already knew the answer.
“Why the fuck didn’t you save yourself?” Sirius hollered, “Why did you follow every rule she set? Every fucking order she gave you?”
“The Black family needed an heir.” You shrugged tongue darting out to collect a tear from the corner of your mouth. “I knew it had to be one of us, if not you or me then Reg.” you paused, “So I decided it would be me.”
“How? How could you possibly decide that?” Sirius sobbed now standing in front of you. You still didn’t look up.
“It was easier than you would think.” You chuckled darkly.
“It’s not fair y/n.” He stated, “We can still help you. Dumbledore will help, you can stay with James and me. Please y/n.”
“It’s too late and you know it.” You spoke, “Best not to cry over spilled milk.”
“But your life isn’t spilled milk!” Sirius shouted.
“Might as well be.” You shrugged finally meeting your brother’s eyes. They matched your own, puffy and red.
“How can you say that?” The boy spat, “It’s your fucking life!”
“Not anymore.” You sighed. “Look, Siri, in all honesty, I don’t give two fucks about my life right now, we have less than 13 months to find a way to get Regulus the fuck out of that house and then boom he turns 16 and none of this shit matters anymore. So stop worrying about me and start realizing we can still save him.”
Sirius had never felt so incredibly selfish before. You had given away your life for him and for Regulus. What had he given away? He had gotten the life he wanted while you would suffer for the rest of yours. And all you said was ‘It’s best not to cry over spilled milk.’ He suddenly remembered every jibe and comment he had said to you. You had done nothing but bite your tongue as he taunted the nightmare you lived him so he could bask in a daydream.
“I need you to start hanging out with him.” You mumbled, voice raw, “I have been avoiding him, hopefully, it will help. I’m gonna start making up lies about how his grades are slipping and he’s hanging out with mudbloods, maybe dating one.” You sighed, “Reg still wants to impress mom, I need you to get it into his mind how twisted she is. Make him hate her. Make him hate me too, use me as an example.” You paused, “Can you do that Siri?”
Sirius didn’t speak for a long time. You didn’t pressure him to. You stared straight ahead tears still leaking from your eyes.
“Yeah, I can do that.” Sirius finally spoke. He sounded half-dead, deflated. He sounded like you.
“Good.” You didn’t waste a second. You got to your feet wiping your tears and then you walked away.
James sprinted down the halls. He has his eyes peeled to the two names in the greenhouse. He made it free of the castle and saw a figure making their way towards him. He glanced down at the map and saw that it was you.
As he neared you he was finally able to drink in your appearance. Your eyes were bloodshot, you were attempting to dry never-ending teardrops, dragging your forearm repeatedly over your face. When you looked up at him his heart broke. Your bottom lip was shaking eyes so glassy it must have stung.
You dove into his chest, wrapping your arms around him and you began to cry. Your body jumped with sobs as James pulled you closer to him.
He forgot about everything but you as you nuzzled closer to him. He forgot about Sirius, about the tears soaking through his shirt and the dew that had dampened his robes. He only cared about you. You and the fact that you still smelt like caramel and cinnamon, you and your overly soft hair, you and your cold hands wrapped around him.
James nestled into your hair inhaling its intoxicating scent. He then hooked his hands under your arms and lifted you so your hands were wrapped around his neck. You understood and wrapped your legs around his waist your head becoming buried into his neck. He placed one hand under each of your thighs and began to carry you inside. As you made your way through the castle your tears began to slow, sobs turning to whimpers.
James felt his face bloom with deep red roses. His heart was thumping far too quickly. When he reached his destination he only had to pace twice before the door showed its self. The inside of the room was relatively the same as it always was except for the large brick fireplace and massive couch filled with large pillows.
The Chaser attempted to set you down on the couch but your firm grip on his neck and the legs wrapped around him forced him to follow downwards. A fresh blush coated his cheeks. You burrowed back into his embrace and it was quiet for a long time. The only noise coming from the crack of the fireplace and the sound of a faint wind blowing outside.
“Y/n what happened?” James finally asked and you pulled a bit away from him so you could look him in his eyes.
He looked so handsome, his deep chocolate brown eyes were wide with worry, only more magnified behind his round glasses. His cheeks were painted with poppies, his lips plush, and pink. His unruly thickly curled hair framed his face perfectly, a small strand falling between his eyes.
“You know I always had a thing for you.” You smiled weakly, “From the moment I saw you on the platform I thought you were the cutest thing I had ever laid eyes on.”
James wasn’t quite sure how to respond, he assumed he was dreaming.
“I never wanted to tell you, James, I never thought I would. But I need to.”
The room fell quiet again.
“Can I kiss you y/n?” James finally asked his heart near shattering.
You nodded slowly and he let his eyes flutter shut, yours doing the same as your lips gently met. The kiss was so fragile you were afraid it may break. He tasted like pumpkin juice, his tongue slipping into your mouth seconds before you pulled away.
“Y/n let me help you.” James pleaded as you swung your feet off of the couch, sitting upright as you mumbled ‘I shouldn’t have done that.’ quietly to yourself.
“Just.. take care of Siri for me.” You could feel tears beginning to climb back upwards.
James sat up beside you, “Y/n please.” He begged.
“It’s okay James.” You assured him with a watery smile. “You’ll get over it.”
“But y/n-”
You shushed him placing your pointer finger on his lips. He blinked a small tear falling down his flushed cheek. You wiped it away with your thumb.
“You’ll be okay James.” You paused standing swiftly, “Best not to cry over spilled milk.” You murmured over your shoulder as you left the room.

Summary: You finally come to visit your boyfriend and his brothers after a long, busy couple of work weeks.
Warnings: Slight swearing, some sexual themes; other than that, straight fluff ensues :)
Tumblr media
Of course, it had to be the one day in the week you were scheduled to hang out in a sewer that it was nice out. You couldn't necessarily act like you were surprised; these kinds of things were just examples of your tough luck lately.
Not that this would make a difference in your happiness. At least you were spending time with your favorite boys. You'd been busy lately, your work schedule crowding your play schedule. It made you feel the slightest bit bad.. You getting a busy job on the surface toyed with the amount of time your best friends and boyfriend (Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and of course, Michelangelo, the boy of your dreams) would be able to see you.
So, today being the first day of your week's vacation, you decided your first vacation effort would be to go and see your boys. They'd been kind of upset with you lately.. You'd been invited numerous times to the lair after work.
But, work was tiring. So you'd opted not to. You didn't want to end up grumpy and snap at them, or too tired to spend much time with them without nodding off.
It almost seemed like Mikey was hurt by it. It was upsetting to you that you upset your lover.. So, you'd chosen to come see them now. You jumped out of bed, getting into your shower; washing your hair with that vanilla cinnamon scent that you knew Mikey loved.
Your boy was a walking talking ray of 6 foot sunshine in turtle form. It was scary when he was upset with you.. Mostly because it seemed like he never got upset. He understood that you had to work. He just didn't understand why you couldn't come see him after. Michelangelo was a bit of a clingy lover; he never wanted his angelcakes far from him for long at all. You made him happy during dark times, during the times that things seemed hopeless. During the times where it seemed all he did was kick ass and take names.
You sighed as you rifled through your closet. Something to wear, anything you looked nice in. You needed to make up with Mikey now, or you wouldn't stop feeling guilty.
Then.. you saw it. The perfect apology outfit.
The little white dress that Mikey adored seeing you in. A white lace number with a flowy skirt. He always said something like: "Damn, angelcakes! My favorite dress, that rocking body. All for me?"
That's if he could formulate a sentence at all. You couldn't understand what was so special about the dress to him. But you knew it would soften him up enough that he'd accept your apology. He was always easy like that; but you knew it was only because you hadn't hurt him badly enough.
Slipping on the dress, you looked in the mirror, tossing your hair a bit. You looked good, you decided. It was time to go.
Your skin was happy to receive the sunshine. It was a beautiful day out, which wasn't always a common occurrence during this season in New York. You took your time walking to the lair, deciding what you'd say to your boyfriend and his brothers. Your mind mowed over the multiple excuses you'd formulated.. But they ended up just making you feel guiltier.
Deciding that you'd have to use your improv abilities, you continued walking, approaching the lair with clammy hands.
You walked into the familiar scent of cologne and pizza. Raph's cologne was the strongest of all of them, though. The most identifiable. Your boyfriend's was less strong, more natural. He still smelled comforting, like citrus flavored gum and his soft cologne.
The first of the boys you spotted was Raphael, lounging on the couch per usual. His head raised from the arm rest and his eyes widened. But, as you gave him a sheepish smile, his eyes surprisingly narrowed into a glare. He scowled at you, standing up into his frightening height of 6 feet and 10 inches.
"Welcome back, Y/n. Finally take some time out of your busy schedule to come see us?" He snorted in icy sarcasm, his eyes set in concrete bitterness.
You'd expected him to be the angriest out of all of them. Because overall, he was. You had no doubt in your mind that he was hiding his hurt with anger, although you wouldn't say that. Because he'd deny it faster than he would deny anything in his life.
You swallowed, backing up a step. His height was truly intimidating.
"Yeah. I had to work, Raphael. I'm sorry if you're upset." You replied quietly, training your gaze to your feet.
He chuckled in a salty tone, his green eyes still angry. "You get out at 8. You had time to come see us.. But I guess we ain't all that important to you. Weeks, Y/n," He huffed, "You haven't been here for weeks, you haven't seen Mike's face in weeks."
You flinched, biting your lip. That pissed you off. You took a breath as you felt your face getting hotter by the second.
"You don't get to throw Mikey in my face. I was doing my job, I was exhausted, and don't fucking worry, I felt like shit the entire time I was away," You hissed. "Now fuck off, Raphael. I'm not gonna spend my vacation time needlessly fighting with you." You snapped, stalking off to find the other turtles.
Behind you, you heard Raph stalk out of the lair, probably to blow off steam somewhere in the sewers. The first confrontation was always the hardest.
You automatically headed for Donnie's lab, the second closest place in the lair. It was down the little hall, to the right.
Opening the door, you found Donnie reading a book. God knows what about.. He had a peculiar taste in literature. He muttered under his breath to himself, his lips pursed when he finished.
You knocked on the threshold, jumping Donnie slightly. He dropped the book in his hands, glancing up at you.
"O-Oh. Y/n." He said, his eyes still wide. You stared back at him, studying his face. He didn't look angry.. He wasn't really good at getting mad at you. He was only mad when you hurt yourself or put yourself into obvious danger. His brain and protective older brother instincts couldn't take it.
"Hey, Don." You said quietly, taking a step into the lab. You shut the door behind you, standing in the middle of the room.
"Work get out early or something?" He asked, picking his book up from the floor and placing it on his desk. You shook your head, shoving your hands in your pockets.
"My week's vacation started today.. I knew I needed to visit. You mad at me too?" You asked, ready to flinch at the answer.
He waited a second, his face blank, but soon chuckled softly. His brown eyes studied your uncomfortable figure.
"Nah. Not mad.. Just a little thrown off. But I understand why you couldn't visit. Leo does too," He said, taking a deep breath, "Mikey and Raph are just narrow minded.. Not that Mikey's mad. He's just hurt that he hasn't gotten to see you." He explained further, patting your shoulder.
You nodded your head, smiling at Donnie. "Thanks for understanding." You said.
He nodded, picking his book back up. "You staying the week?"
You bit your lip. "I thought all of you were gonna be pissed at me, so I didn't really plan ahead. If things go well with the other boys I'll go home and pack a bag." You giggled.
Donnie rolled his eyes, opening the book to the correct page. "Should've packed a bag anyways."
You ignored him and left the lab, headed for Leo's room. You were saving your explanation to Mikey for last.. Due to the fact that it might take a bit longer.
You knew he'd be sat inside his room, plopped down on the rug. Meditating, like usual. He was such a sensei suck up.
Knocking on the door, you heard a hum. You just assumed that meant to come in. So, you opened the door, realizing you guessed right. He'd been meditating.
You met his calm blue eyes as they filled with realization. A knowing and pleasant grin formed on his face.
"Y/n. Didn't know you were coming." He said, still grinning lightly. He stood to his feet, studying you, almost to see if anything had changed. But when he found nothing, he met eyes with you again.
"Yeah.. I tried to make it a surprise. Raph didn't appreciate the element though." You cringed, biting your lip for the 14th time today.
Leo rolled his eyes. "Ignore him. His attitude is nothing like the rest of ours towards the situation. I'm just glad you're back." He said, giving you another soft smile.
"Thanks, Leo. I'd love to sit and catch up but.. I need to see Mikey." You said.
He nodded in agreement, sitting back down, as you ushered out of the room and towards Mikey's.
You heard the sound of his favorite video game blasting in his room.. You almost got too scared to enter. You could smell whatever snack he'd cooked and brought in there, as well as his scent. You'd missed him so much.. His scent was like a breath of fresh air. It would be even better coming directly off from him.
Your relationship with Mikey started as flirting, then you gained close friendship, and then.. He'd planted a very welcomed kiss on your lips for the first time. It was never shy with you two -- never. These thoughts comforted you as you decided to enter his room, landing your eyes on something they'd been craving for weeks.
There was Mikey, his eyes trained on his first person shooting game, his lip sexily pulled between his straight white teeth. He was built with strength, rippling green muscles covering every inch of him.
His blue eyes were narrowed at the screen as his fingers moved with speed along the controller. He was naturally taking everyone on the screen out.. He'd had lots of time in the lair for practice.
Location by Playboi Carti played quietly on the speaker in his room, obviously filling the silence, aside from the gun sounds that often rang out.
You patiently waited for him to notice you standing there, not wanting to speak until you knew what the nature of the conversation was going to be like.
But you didn't have to wait long. Because Mikey glanced at his doorway, noticing you there. His eyes widened and he dropped his controller, staring at you. His eyes traveled down your physique, eyeing his favorite dress and your gorgeous body.
You couldn't blame him for staring at you. He hadn't seen his girl in weeks.. The sight of you shocked him as much as it caused him joy. And maybe slight nervousness at this point.
"Hey.." You said hesitantly, stepping forward into his room. He almost looked like he forgot how to breathe. It took him a minute, but your boyfriend managed to take a breath.
"Hi." He said softly, pulling his lip between his teeth again. You smiled at his awe and kicked off your shoes in his room, attempting to show him that you were staying.
"The boys told me you've been upset.." You trailed off, keeping a little bit of physical distance. Normally you'd plop yourself right into his lap, but that didn't seem appropriate right then.
He obviously didn't know what to say. He didn't want to deny and lie about it, but he didn't want to make you feel bad in return. So, he just nodded a bit. But he felt the word vomit coming up. He could never keep his mouth shut, and sometimes he cursed himself for it.
"I hated not seeing you. All of us did.. But I've never gone that long without seeing my girl and it - it just felt like you didn't want to visit and I didn't want to try to force you-" He spilled, but you interrupted softly.
"Mikey, baby. It wasn't that I didn't want to visit you," You explained, coming closer. "I was just tired because of work and I wanted to see you when I was at my best. Regardless of what you think, I missed you. So much."
Mikey stared at you for a second, digesting the words he'd heard in his own head.
"I don't care whether you're at your best or your absolute worst. I care about you," He argued. "You're my angelcakes. I'm supposed to love you all the time."
You glanced at your feet, twiddling your fingers.
"I'm sorry, Mike. I just wanted to make you happy.. I didn't want to come in a bad mood and make you upset." You said, biting your lip.
"Angel, I love how considerate you are, okay? But just come see me next time. If you're tired, or grumpy, or whatever you are.. I won't get upset with you," He smiled softly, "I'll be happy to give you what you need and take care of you."
You nodded and exhaled, relieved. He hadn't been very upset with you. Just a bit insecure. Insecure was okay; because you'd always be there to reassure him.
"Now c'mere. Mikey missed his babygirl. And she's wearing his favorite dress too!" He chuckled, pulling you into his arms.
You breathed in his scent, snuggling into his chest. He pressed a soft kiss to your neck, making you erupt in quiet laughter. It was like everything was in order again, giving you a restored feeling in your body. This was perfect.
"Dress probably won't stay on for long though.." Mikey muttered, giggling to himself.
Well... Now it was perfect ;).
