List of dramas that I am watching or want to watch, just for personal record reasons:

Cdramas:

The ingenious one (36/36): this drama has blown me away so far with its incredibly nuanced and sharp writing, its love stories between all the major couples and the absolutely magnificent cinematography. FINISHED verdict: HIGHLIGHT drama of the year for me so far. Smart, engaging, complicated, peak romance of all sorts, just what the doctor ordered tbh (overly long review can be found in my tags). 9.5

Chang Feng Du (40/40): I did not realise how close to the end I was. This drama is very pleasant and I adore our mains, but sadly except for a few highlights (the early beating gjs put on himself, the destruction of the gu family and the aftermath, the battle for wangdu) the writing hasn’t been able to keep the narrative tension up which is sad. FINSHED verdict: Very pretty and engaging in the beginning kinda loses me in the second half and then fizzles out emotionally, doesn't crash and burn but doesn't exactly stick the landing either 6.5

Gone with the rain (10/30): adore the gremlin4gremlin couple and from the spoilers I’ve seen not gonna adore much else

An ancient love song (1/16): incredible first episode and with only 30 min per ep and 16 eps in total this is gonna be a short fun ride I hope ( with lots of angst and tears naturally).

Here we meet again (18/32): started this for Wu Qian playing to type and Zhang BinBin being pretty but oh boy I’m struggling I just don’t care about the conflicts and in s surprising twist, I like the flashbacks to high school much much more, which is very funny if you think about the fact that the reason I started liking wu qian in the first place was because of her show stealing performance in the flashbacks of My Sunshine. I’ve been promised kisses in the near future so I’m gonna hold out till then but this might end up another drop.

Hidden Love (5/25): this one promises to be v sweet and kinda short but oh my god I have so many dramas on my plate rn so this might end up the first drop.

Till the end of the moon (22/40): I think I watched ep 1 when it started but then I got busy and now I am just staring at gifsets and crying, it’s definitely on the list to watch tho.

Heroes (6?/38): I started this a while ago, was really into it and then got busy… dammit. I might just rewatch the beginning so I can remember most of the set up for sure but man the visuals on this were so good, aaaa liu yuning.

Blood of youth (0/40): the last 12 months really have spoiled us with interesting looking wuxia dramas and this one is definitely on the list, I have been gifbaited once again.

Ray of light (0/30): usually hs dramas are something I avoid, but because I will not be watching the longest promise, for reasons, and bc @storge is a gifmaking temptress, this has made it on the list.

The legend of anle (0/39): Lmao trust YOUKU to screw up the release with bad subs only 1 ep even for vips and no released schedule… but at least I can put this on the backburner for now. Lmao should have known not to trust a youku dilreba drama, the tl has soundingly spoken and I'm gonna avoid this.

Ancient Detective (0/24): I was recced this by a friend when I mentioned my love for wuxia dramas, and since it’s almost shockingly short for a cdrama it’s on the list. EDIT: this got @purplehanfus seal of approval so it is def going up the list and since it's complete I'll probably at least watch it before the ongoing ones.

Butterflied love (0/22): see I barely made this post and already forgot about the screencap that got me started on writing it, the screencapa look great, but the drama is on mango, so who knows when I’ll truly be able to watch this

When I fly towards you (0/24): Well, I wasn't interested bc modern youth drama, but then I heard it described as "updated It Started with a Kiss" and... I'm weak? ISWAK was pretty much my crack gateway into asian dramas and while IDK if i could rewatch it today, something in me will always love this kind of story. Maybe it's like a quick palate cleanser in between since apparently eps are only about 30 mins.

Mysterious Lotus Casebook(0/40): CHENG YIIIII, in a possibly bromantic role? Or maybe het romance, I'll take it all. Plus I've already seen he's bleeding copious amounts as per his contract, so that's most of the checklist done.

Lost You Forever (0/??): because nature abhors a vacuum I apparently must have?? A minimum to watch pile and this actually and genuinely looks good??? A Yang Zi drama in 2023??? The mind boggles. Anyway I've been reading the recaps with delight, and am def going to watch this when part two airs in a couple of months but until then I have a thankful reprieve...

Kdramas:

See you in my 19th life (4/12): since kdramas release so slowly this is on the backburner but it does have some great gifsets that keep enticing meee

King the land (2/16): I am watching this for junho but it is kinda hard bc I have so much else on my plate and while I don’t mind a classic romcom type story I feel I need a bit more of an emotional hook

Story of the nine-tailed 1938 (0/16): so so many gorgeous and hilarious gifsets so little time. I loved season one so so much and the fact that this focuses on the brotherly relationship?? Extremely smart writing decisions were made!

The red sleeve (0/16): I blame @dangermousie for this she keeps reblogging angsts junho on my dash and I am but god’s weakest warrior.

Love tractor (0/8): gay himbo farmboy falls in love?? You bet this is on the list

Lady durian (0/?): ok this is only on the list for crack reasons but, daughter in law is in love with mother in law and both women are like 40+ truly kdramas have entered a new era and I kinda wanna be here for that

EDIT: Revenant (0/12): Kim Tae Ri in a spooky drama? POSSIBLY POSSESSED KIM TAE RI??? how could i forget to put her on this list, plus it was written by the Kingdom writer and I adore that drama plus it's only 12 eps which is smart in this case so... let's hope i get to it at some point D:

My dearest (2/20): I checked this out because it's got pretty much everything going for it from a production standpoint and boy did the first two eps deliver. This has got 2 seasons though so I'll probably wait until the second season is airing, since it won't be too long till season 2 or so the internet tells me.

My lovely liar (0/16): minhyun learned to act and I wanna see it happen!!

Jdramas:

Our dining table (2/10): ok this category is gonna be a bit shorter bc I haven’t watched too much drama recently but omg the gifs for this I am just crying thinking about it they look so cute??

Jack o‘frost (0/6): people have recced it and it’s short so here it is.

Utsukushii kare s2 (0/4): Season 1 was an unexpected delight so I hope s2 works just as well.

She loves to cook and she loves to eat (0/10): the manga for this is amazing (and hungry making) so I hope this adaptation holds up.

Ok this list is in no way exhaustive (well except for me being exhausted just trying toward this down) and probably subject to change ( I haven’t even looked at thaidramas or twdramas I gotta stop for now) but hopefully this will keep me on the ball and maybe I can add to it whenever a new tempting gifset crosses my dash…

29! considering i only started posting in march 2023, i think that's not too bad!

2. what's your total AO3 word count?

207,225 ! it's gonna go up by a LOT with the new fic i'm planning, that one is easily gonna be 80k or more lol. but for now, it is this! :)

i am only inspired by one (1) tall british woman lol

6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

hmmm. my endings ten to be kind of melancholy/open ending type of shit if it's angsty. but the angstiest, as in it's objectively an upsetting ending for a particular character, i think it's either the sad option on my ruin tastes so sweet (almost as sweet as your lips) or violet soul, followed by inevitable (even though i might even consider that one a happy ending given the Circumstances. like it could have been much worse i feel lol)

7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

it's either particular or push me gently (into love)!

8. do you get hate on fics?

yes, but not in the ao3 comments! lol. they Find Me on tumblr and yell their grievances here lmao

9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?

i only have a couple of fic that *don't* feature smut of some kind lol. i love writing smut! as for what kind...... the lesbian kind. often really kinky, but not a rule! i've written vanilla stuff, too!

10. do you write crossovers? what's the craziest one you've written?

not a lot tbh! but i think a fun one i've done is a star wars/wednesday crossover that i exclusively wrote bc i wanted larissa weems and captain phasma to fuck lololol and i wanted to feature a chrome dildo as hommage to phasma's armour. it's fun, silly and really filthy porn if you wanna give it a read lol. chrome and lipstick

11. have you ever had a fic stolen?

not an entire fic, but i have had my ideas plagiarised, actually by some well-known fandom names. or if i've shared an idea in a chat that person would accidentally get the same idea and post it before me lol. so that has taught me not to share my wips with anyone but my innermost circle lol.

12. have you ever had a fic translated?

i don't think so? i don't think i'd like be thrilled with that tbh.

13. have you ever co-written a fic before?

i tried, but the person ghosted me lol. it's a shame, i really like her work.

14. what's your all-time favourite ship?

i have spent a significant amount of time in the malora fandom, and i feel that illustrates the type of dynamic i Enjoy lol, but honestly idk if i have a Favourite(TM) ship Ever. i don't control what i'll go Nuts over at any given time.

15. what's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

if i *want* to finish it i likely will at some point. if i don't, that means i have lost passion for it and i don't want to finish it anymore.

16. what are your writing strengths?

describing emotional states, pacing, dialogue, Very Specific Character Dynamics, smut, incorporating Motifs(TM) and themes.

17. what are your writing weaknesses?

world-building (horrible at it, also super disinterested in it), describing places accurately and in a detailed manner unless it's Just Vibes, and i feel i'd be horrible at writing any kind of action scene. i am very good at Internal stuff, not so good at External stuff, i feel. i also sometimes get a bit too dash happy lol. just end the sentence gurl.

18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

i just find it distracting and unnecessary, and if you don't actually speak that language, i'd say don't bother. it comes out weird. just my opinion though! i think a phrase, a sentence, expression or a single word can be fun, but i wouldn't write a whole dialogue in another language, unless i really wanted to use it for some sort of effect. like a point being made of the character whose pov i was writing not understanding something really important or whatever idk.

19. first fandom you wrote for?

i honestly don't remember. it may have been supergirl?

20. favourite fic you've written?

i can't choooooose. maybe inevitable? i also love particular. and i am quite fond of our little dance and my entire luci/maz cinematic universe haha!! and when the last restraint is gone. i can't pick a favourite child (i can pick Least Favourites though lol).

i also started watching bbs for the 23rd time a week ago! i'm doing a weekly anniversary rewatch and soooo tomorrow i get to watch ep2 hehe

oh and my mom sat me down in front of the kdrama andante the other day. we watched 3 or 4 episodes before i went back to the cursed city and so i'll be watching that over the next few weeks whenever i go back home

i might start another show at some point over the next week, idk. right now i'm trying not to get distracted bc of uni

23 since 2016 lmao,, i don't remember exactly how many i posted on lj from 2012-2015 but it wasn't a ton, probably 10-15 that were like 50k altogether

uhh i feel like the only thing i wrote that is complete and has an angsty ending is 捡一个梦; reach for a dream bc it was a missing scene from an angsty arc of the show. or lol jk same scenario applies to 余光 (remnants of light) bc it takes place before the end of yuwu and not in one of the happier moments

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

either 给你给你 or 换一世身份姓名; heaven to myself bc they're both disgustingly sweet and affectionate at the end

8. Do you get hate on fics?

nope! either i am writing for tiny ass fandoms or like, my fics don't get enough traction to attract haters LMAO

not a lot... the incomplete bingqiu au i posted has the most explicit scenes so far but i am still too shy writing it. i have to practice so that i can write more than 3 sentences of sex in a single day and actually finish the wips i started 😭

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you have written?

i have before! nothing crazy tho bc it was just kpop rpf and it would be like, two idols from the same company that have interacted multiple times! lmao. sometimes i think abt crossovers for cdramas that are relatively tame such as: two actors that have been in the same drama multiple times are reincaranted and those 2+ dramas are their different lives... but it's so niche in eng speaking fandom and i haven't fully written one out yet. also does it count as a crossover if u put characters from story A into the setting/setup for story B bc i do that a lot but i think that is fairly common at least for ppl to imagine

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

i don't think so... again, my fics do not get a lot of traction so i don't think it's likely lmaooo

i think there was an exo one translated into russian a long time ago but i don't even remember which one lolllll it might have been on my livejournal

not a whole fic yet but ive brainrotted a plethora of aus with friends before such as but not limited to mingqian actors au with lianzi (very intricate with multiple variations) and a Bunch of cdrama and yuwu stuff with another friend :')

i cannotttttt pick only one but ummm in the last yr-ish it's been a rotation of tantai jin/li susu + mingye/sang jiu from cyjm, mingqian from liu yao, xilian from yuwu (🤪)..... bingqiu from sv (always).... i should stop for now that's Tew Many. but i think once i finish spl, changgu will also be up there

15. What is a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

i feel like i'm cursing myself by typing this out but perhaps the bingqiu i posted one chapter of..... even if i could write all the p With p parts that i wanted to include, i was also a little stuck on the ending and idk if i would be able to write it in a way that doesn't feel like a cop out or just weak in general 😢 but i do like that au and i think my writing for it so far was p decent... so who knows...!

16. What are your writing strengths?

i think i am pretty good at dialogue that sounds 1. natural and 2. true to the characters! i try really hard to make imagery sound original(ish) and evocative, and to make a character's Yearning palpable

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

intricate plot, action, sex (takes me forever to write and haven't done it in as much detail as i would like to tbh)

18. Thoughts of writing dialogue in another language in fics?

i love it! i did it a little in my yunfei fic and instead of directly translating the line of chinese right there i just included the meaning in the next line of dialogue, like "what do you mean [thing they just said]" + i did it like that bc the tone of it just felt so much more natural to me in mandarin for that specific convo. not that it was something untranslatable (it wasn't) but it just felt comfier to me. i also like the thing ppl do where you can hover over the text and it will show the translation but idk how that html works HAHA someday i would like to give it a go

19. First fandom you wrote for?

exo.......... lmao

20. Favorite fic you have written?

overall i think it would be typhoon season (my incomplete but not abandoned cisswap girls ximang in hk) ! i had it fermenting in my brain for like 8 months before i wrote it, which meant i had figured a lot of the stuff for the beginning out and it was much easier to write than normal since i was not deliberating so much in the moment. i think the pacing for it was good and the reveals of backstory were placed well, and i think i adapted the characters well too even if it's only a first chapter and they haven't done a lot yet. i wanna write them again but it's been rly hard for me to think abt that specific au for many months lol. i also think my recent yzy gegedidi fic had a lot of yummy scenes even if i see some flaws in some parts of the fic's progression... but i spent enough time on it already so i will not go and fix it anymore 😌 peace

🥺 Is there a certain type of moment or common interaction between your characters that never fails to put you in your feels?

I think I mentioned this before with a similar question but any kind of name reveal/people switching to use a more personal name for someone makes me so emotional. like wilbur telling niki his name in glass, or wilbur giving phil permission to use his name in stars, or when tommy started using wilbur's name in world forgetting, etc etc I just love the kind of trust that comes with giving someone permission to use your name in worlds where names have a lot of importance put on them

👀 Tell me about an up and coming wip please!

well since we're nearing the end of glass I actually have the first chapter of my upcoming royalty au already planned out, and I'm planning on writing it on the plane ride over to amsterdam next week (I'm hoping I'll be able to publish ch 1 of the royalty au the same time I post ch 26 of glass, and then I'll do my usual thing of finishing glass before I start updating it regularly)

anyway, you're in luck icy! the royalty au is going to be very heavily sandduo focused. like if there are three main relationships in it, it's going to be sandduo, rainduo, and crimeboys

I've talked about it a bit already, but my inspo for this fic was from watching house of the dragon so it's going to have a lot of game of thrones style politics in it. phil is going to be doing a lot of scheming, wilbur is going to be doing his best to follow in his father's footsteps, the story might end up taking place over the course of several years instead of how my stories usually just take place over the course of 6-10 months (still not decided but I think that's the direction I'm going), there's going to be so much grey morality, and people will get murdered :) it's gonna be a fun ride and I'm so excited to start writing it

Wilbur Soot-centric is my go to bc gonna be honest, most of that tag is actually tommy-centric fics that claim they're about wilbur too but wilbur is just reduced to a generic older brother figure. so I like to try and do my part by filling the tag with actual wilbur-centric fics

It is late now, I'm a bit tired; the sky is irritated by stars. (And I love you, I love you, I love you.) — first installment in my Jackson series, Tess lives au, and a sick fic all in one, TLOU.

it is a serious thing just to be alive on this fresh morning in this broken world — the second installment in my Jackson series, 10k words being a Tess’s character study, TLOU.

I was lost within the darkness (until I found you) — family prompts fic collection, TLOU.

two slow dancers (last ones out) — ficlet collection centered around Joel and Tess with a variety of ratings, genres, and universes; aka my dumping ground, mind the warning. TLOU.

Always do and always will. They’re precious and important 🥹

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Whumptober is the outright answer. However, any of my canon compliant fic (joel misses his apocalypse wife) can fill that spot. Some of the ones in the ficlet collection are pretty tragic and grim, so angst is adjacent to it.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Those would be the ones where I'm delusional correct and Tess is alive and thriving 🫡

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I rarely get the normal type, so no. Luckily, no one is hating on my fics and if they do, I'm not aware 😝

Uhhhhh yes, actually embarrassing the amount of pwp that has been posted bc I don't have self-control 🧍🏽‍♀️The kind ranges from very sad poetic introspective work to reallyyyy kinky nasty stuff. Idk what that says about me, and neither I care.

I don't vibe with them, sorry.

Again, no, as far as I can remember. But that's never cool, so don't even think about it. I vibe with so many things but not that :/

I'm very good at conceptual/poetic stuff. I'm a control freak (complimentary). I would die if I didn't nail characterization. AUs. Uhhhh babyfic. Compelling ambience.

Pursuing multichapter storytelling. I'm a control freak (derogatory). Dialogue. I can get too much inside my head. Not writing in my mother tongue, so not the best vocabulary. Writing when I'm sleepy (a sin).

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

For the love of God, do not use Google translate and take the time to consult the language you're gonna use if it's gonna be a recurring thing 🫶🏼 all my respect and love to writers who get to do their research, y'all are doing amazing sweetie.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

I used to (terribly) write anything I could get my hands on, so no idea? Could've been anime to a very niche flash game from the 2010s.

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

I'm never ever toping this tribute to flutterings. If I ever leave, I hope my legacy is this work, and it continues to haunt readers forever and ever and ever 🫶🏼

A/N ; So I posted the first part to this yesterday and honestly, I wasn't too sure if I'd even be able to come up with a second part. But I did and so, here we are. So apparently, not only does this Henderson!fem reader have a whole lotta sass / artsy and witchy stoner vibes but also, she apparently does not like large crowds that much and she's showing a lil bit of a softer side here. Also, pretty sure if I were to write this one in the future as an adult (with her man Eds) she'd be involved in animal rescue or something.

Pairing ; Eddie Munson x Henderson!fem reader ( who yikes, sorry.. does read like an OC bc a very detailed personality and such. I tried hard not to but with this one and the one for Steve with a henderson!fem reader, the details just kept coming, oops rip. so if that breaks immersion for anyone, I am so so so so so sorry. I'm still learning how to do reader / y/n type stuff.)

Timeline / Other Stuff to Note ; part I can be found by clicking. As I stated previously, there is no Upside Down / unholy events that happen to deal with in this. It's just another lil normal slice of life thing. So if you like those -and you like the idea of our metal god living and thriving, maybe you'll like this. I am lowkey tempted to have little brother Dustin and his buddies try to play matchmaker or something at some point.

The sign leading into Forest Hills trailer park is hanging askew, the chain that formerly held up the left side abandoned hope probably well before you were born. You try to remember which trailer Eddie said he lived in as you drive slow down the only road in or out and then you finally spot Eddie’s van parked haphazardly in front of one so you stop and pull in across the lawn from it.

An older man is standing in the doorway as you finish jamming out to Led Zeppelin and kill the engine to your car. You get out after you grab your books and notebooks. As you’re approaching the door, Wayne chuckles to himself.

“You lost?” he calls out.

“Nope. Eddie lives here, right?” you ask the question as you shuffle your scuffed combat boots against the dry lawn and pop a noisy blue bubble with your gum. Right off the bat, Wayne is not sure what to think about you. You’re a girl Eddie talks about non-stop lately and normally, that worries him because the kid tends to get real caught up in the idea of a person and then they pull his father’s stunt and disappear when the kid needs ‘em most. Then there’s the other ones who treat his nephew real bad and whisper and stare or go out of their way to avoid getting near him in a crowd. Wayne’s always been protective, Eddie isn’t just his nephew. Eddie is the only good thing in his life. Eddie might as well be his own damn son and the way people treat him always makes Wayne stay on guard.

“You the kid with the snake?” Wayne asks with a quiet laugh. You curtsy and smile. “And three cats, a lizard and as of last night, a baby bird with a broken wing.” you add, making Eddie’s uncle laugh. You, on the other hand, you are beyond nervous because you feel like you’re being sized up. Scrutinized.

But then, to be fair, you can’t blame his uncle for being protective. People either treat Eddie like shit or they all shrink away in fear and whisper behind his back. Or start dumb rumors.

“Dustin.. That Henderson boy.. Is he your little brother? Always see you puttering around in that death trap out there with him and those two other boys, that little girl…” Wayne asks. You smile and nod. “Mhm. He’s in Eddie’s Hellfire thing.”

Wayne feels a little less ill at ease. He asked about Dustin because he always sees you around town with the group of boys and the little red-head across the road.

He steps out of the doorway and you take a deep breath. Maybe you passed the little test you feel like you’ve just been given. “Eddie!” you yell out over the guitar from behind the closed door at the end of the trailer.

Wayne chuckles to himself because you’ve already taken off your combat boots and he’s seen the mismatched socks you’re wearing. Not only that, you’re looking around. He saw you stop by the picture of his nephew in middle school, smile a little when you picked it up and put it back down.

You remember the leftovers your mom sent with you and sit them down on the flimsy dining table as you turn back to the older man. “It’s uh.. Chili.” you smile at him and twist hair around your finger. You’re at least halfway sure that he’s on the fence about you and normally, that wouldn’t bother you but this is Eddie’s uncle. He’s important to Eddie, therefore, you want him to like you.

Without giving away the fact that you -an actual chaos demon according to most, have kind of been in love with his nephew for so long that it’s probably not funny and it might seem a little… weird if that ever came to light.

“Should be good later. Gonna get cold tonight.” Wayne muses. He yells his nephew’s name but Eddie keeps on playing. You’ve wandered back over to that photo of his nephew in middle school again and you’re holding it, staring at the frame. Shuffling your mismatched socks on the floor. He starts to get the sense that you’re a little awkward. And he starts to see where his nephew insists that your whole ‘tough’ act is a front.

He’s still undecided about you, but he warms just a little more. Maybe you’re a good kid and you’re not like the others in town who keep a wide berth while whispering, staring and pointing behind his nephew’s back.

“Is that his room?” you nod to the closed door and Wayne chuckles, nodding. “Mhm.”

“I got it, sir.” you’re grinning way too much and this is when Wayne comes to the conclusion that you enjoy the fact that you’re a little chaos magnet.

Or that’s what Eddie refers to you as. And some of the stories he’s told Wayne about you, well.. Wayne Munson doesn’t entirely disagree. His favorite was probably the one where you filled a pail with glitter, rigged it over a classroom door and when the one kid who was always messing with Eddie the most walked in, you pulled a rope and covered the kid in sparkly pink and purple glitter. Eddie also told him about you keeping a packet of the stuff and randomly blowing it at people throughout the day.

You’re creeping towards the closed door. When you’re standing in front of it, you have to take a deep breath. You throw open the door to Eddie’s bedroom and you promptly lose all coherent thought because Eddie is sitting in a chair with his guitar in his lap, no shirt on and his hair caught up in a familiar black elastic.

Your black hair elastic. The one you thought you lost at some point earlier in the day.

You were going to just yell something random but you can’t stop staring.

Eddie looks up while you’re preoccupied and he sits down the guitar in it’s resting place and stands. “My uncle didn’t like… Interrogate you or anything, right?”

“Mhm.” you quickly add with a soft laugh, “But it’s okay.”

Eddie swears under his breath. Not only for the fact that his uncle interrogated you like he does every new person Eddie brings back to the trailer but he was hoping you’d change before you came by but you didn’t and now he knows he’ll be totally fucked for focus and coherent thought because you’re wearing the little black dress with a white turtleneck beneath it. And the damned stockings that stop at your thigh that he stared way too long at earlier when you were sitting on the table in the cafeteria so you could talk to Astrid, because she was sitting in Gareth’s lap.

“You sure?” Eddie asks.

“You act like I’m made of glass, Munson. I’m razors, remember? Razors and barbed wire.” you laugh softly. And as you say it, Eddie thinks to himself that you might act like you’re tough but he’s definitely figuring out that you’re not really.

“Yeah, I keep forgetting.” Eddie blinks because he was doing it again, staring at the shape of your lips. To be fair, the way you’re always biting the bottom one is a distraction. A huge one.

The tension is creeping back in and it’s heavier. So much heavier. You step up to him because you were going to sit your books and notebooks down on the nightstand but Eddie took a step forward. You gulp and you definitely do your best to keep your eyes down because if you don’t, you’re going to stare. And it will be awkward. Your eyes catch on the tattoo on his arm and you giggle, raising his arm. “You didn’t wash off the marker.” you smile up at him.

That smile is something he’ll do anything to see again. That smile is the whole reason he’s started to just let you trace around the bats tattooed on his arm when you’re bored or nervous. He can usually tell you’re more nervous around larger crowds because earlier, you were talked into sitting in on a Hellfire meeting by Dustin and you were sitting between Dustin and Eddie at the table before it started and the more people who filed into the classroom, the closer you’d get to him and the more you’d drag your finger over the bats.

So he definitely knows by now you are not nearly half as tough as you make yourself out to be.

And it’s like a fucking drug to him, honestly. The more little glimpses of your softer side that come out, the more he tries to fight whatever is happening. But lately, he hasn’t been doing so great at fighting it off.

And everyone notices. And he has been getting some serious hell for it.

Like earlier when Freak -one of the guys in his band and Hellfire, noticed you sitting on the tabletop, between Dustin and Eddie and he saw you glancing around the room, quick to look away and down, twisting Eddie’s rings on his fingers. Freak teased the hell out of him after the meet up ended because Eddie actually forgot what he was going to say at one point and the asshole found it hilarious to point out later.

His direct quote was something like “Nobody else gets to do half the shit she does, Munson. Is she your girl?”

It was a question Eddie hadn’t answered. But when the idiot said something seconds later about asking you to come over and watch movies, Eddie had pretty much taken it upon himself to tell the guy to try it and see what happened.

Your laugh prompts him to focus, stop slipping into his usual daze. You’re sprawled across his mattress, your notebook and the textbook open in front of you. Curses flow from your lips fluidly like a second language and Eddie sits there, watching you as you make a face of sheer annoyance at the text open in front of you.

“How the hell am I supposed t’ help you with this shit if I can’t even figure it out? Jesus christ.” you grumble as you sit up and slam the textbook shut while pouting.

Wayne peeks into the room. “Off to work.” he dangles the keys to the van. “Behave, Eddo.”

“Always.” Eddie laughs.

Wayne gazes at you a second or two and it’s enough that he catches you just staring at his nephew while Eddie isn’t looking and this puts the older man just a little more at ease.

“Nice meetin ya, kid.” he finally says to you before closing the door.

“Fuck word problems.” you grumble not even three seconds later. “Look, if I see one more word problem I’m going to lose my mind.. I.. Can we take a break for a few minutes?” you ask quietly. “Just til I can figure out what I’m missing.”

Eddie chuckles. “Yeah.”

It’s started to rain and the sound of rain hitting the metal roof is relaxing. When the silence is too heavy, you can’t take it anymore, so you attempt to start a conversation.

“Gareth is in for it this weekend.”

“Oh yeah?”

“Astrid’s going to invite him over while her mom’s out of town. You know where this is going.” you laugh softly. “I’m just glad she’s happy, man.”

“I’d say the same about Gare but he’s actually pretty fucking obnoxious lately.” Eddie laughs when he says it and you pretend to pout. “Sir, I happen to think it’s adorable for them.”

“Meh..”

You stick out your tongue and Eddie chuckles quietly.

He reaches out and picks up his guitar, starting to play for a little bit. It’s giving him something to do with his hands and if he’s focused on the guitar and music, he’s not staring at you like a complete idiot.

Only now, you’re the one staring like a complete idiot. Utterly fucked for focus. When he glances over at you at one point, it’s all you can do to pretend to be real absorbed on the blank paper in the open notebook in front of you. You can feel him watching you.

“You stare at my hands a lot.”

His statement has you choking on air and you cough. He puts down the guitar and leans across, hitting you between the shoulders. Laughing as he locks eyes with you, giving you a concerned look. “Are you alright?” he asks quietly, the laughter dying away.

You stick out your tongue. “I do not stare at your hands a lot..” you drag your hand through your hair. You’re lying and you know it. And Eddie’s aware of your little fixation. He just called you out on it. You shrug without saying anything for a second or two. “Your rings.”

“Yeah. I uh… noticed earlier in the lunchroom when everybody piled in at the end of lunch you were kind of playing with them.” Eddie rubs his chin thoughtfully. “You’re not a real big crowd person, hm?”

“I hate anywhere super crowded, holy shit. It’s like I can’t–” you trail off, laughing at yourself. “Nothing. It’s dumb and if you tell anybody that, I’ll put you on your ass, Munson.”

“I wouldn’t do that. I’ve noticed it for a while now. You fidget a lot when you have to speak in class or you’re in a crowd and you don’t have something t’ focus on. Kinda why I don’t say anything whenever you play with them lately.”

What he doesn’t say is that he also doesn’t stop you because he likes it because the softness of your hand is kind of soothing to him too. And more than a time or two, he’s been in a heated discussion with Mike or Erica or Freak or Gare and he’ll catch sight of you and take a deep breath and it’s like he’s fine.

“What about my rings though?” he asks, chuckling. Trying to keep the conversation lighter in the hopes that maybe you’ll open up a little more. Dustin advised that you were nothing if not guarded. An on-again and off-again asshole named Troy was mentioned, and if he did half the things Dustin told him about, Eddie hoped that this time the off was off for good.

Or that he could get his hands on the guy somehow, yeah… That’d be one fight he’d be willing to have.

Dustin said you used to be different. Happier. But then your parents got divorced and your dad stopped having anything to do with the three of you and then you got mixed up with the jerk Troy and now it’s like you’ve got a wall up or something.

You shrug. “I like ‘em?” you go quiet.

Every part of you is beyond tempted to blurt out the truth in all it’s bizarre glory. That you like his hands because they’re sturdy and warm, bigger than yours and a little rough. And the contrast whenever he accidentally touches you is kind of soothing.

But you’re not trying to make the awkwardness any worse than it is.

Eddie nods. “Thanks?” he chuckles and goes quiet. “Have you ever played guitar?” he asks, not sure where he’s going with it and almost instantly, he wants to kick himself because if he does what he’s tempted to do, it’s going to drive him crazy, being that close to you.

You shake your head. “Nope. Always wanted to try but I’m horrible at music.”

“C’mere.” he pats his lap and your brow raises. “You don’t… you don’t have to teach me.”

“We’ll call it a trade, alright? You’re tutoring me, so I can teach you guitar.”

You swallow down a massive lump in your throat and slip off of his bed, making the short step over to the chair. To make it a little less awkward, Eddie widens the gap between his legs and lets you sit down and get settled and then he puts the guitar in front of you and leans against your back a little, his arms around you. His hands over yours as he explains the different chords and finger positions to you, the warmth of his breath tickling at the shell of your ear. The scent of him dominating the space around you and you’re breathing in deep before you can stop yourself because it��s just that calming.

“Okay, show me again.” you laugh out when you mistakenly pluck the wrong chord.

“It’s this one.” Eddie wraps his hand around yours and guides it up the neck of the guitar a little higher. You get it right and glance back at him and he’s grinning.

You smile a little too. Giggle quietly.

“We need to get back to it.” you hate saying it so much. Eddie nods, clearing his throat. Pouting a little while you’re not looking because he honestly doesn’t want you to move. But he knows that you did agree to tutor him and to do that, he needs to focus.

The two of you settle across his mattress, him sprawled one direction and you the other, with the books open in front of you. You finally figure out the correct way to go about solving the word problem and you’re bouncing and laughing and he can’t help but smile. You help him through it really quick and then you move on to the next one and as you’re attempting to work through it, all he can do is stare. Watch the way your tongue juts out when you’re focused. Or the way you like to chew the end of your pencil.

Or the way your legs are up in the air, crossed at the knee behind you and he can see the mismatched socks that you’d worn with your boots and those distracting fucking thigh highs earlier. You look up at one point and push the notebook so he can see it. “Okay, if I have this figured out right, you have to divide and then subtract. But I could be wrong.” you point out what you did and watch as he does it on his own paper.

The math book is closed and you roll over onto his back. “Finally. Now we can get to the easier stuff.” you let out a relieved groan and he laughs. You remember that you wrote down what was going to be on a history quiz he’d have the next day and you sit up, rifling around through the organized chaos you call a notebook until you find the notes you made to give to him and you hold out the paper. “Learn that. You have a quiz tomorrow. We had it today so when I got to Art I wrote it all down real quick.” you’re rambling and it’s cute and he can’t help but laugh quietly as he takes it to read it.

You’re staring, watching as doe eyes scan the paper and the way his tongue drags the outline of his lips. You’re staring way, way too hard. When he looks up, you look down. Focus on the sketch you have going of a skull with a snake crawling in through the mouth with it’s head coming out of the nose. You’ve just started to put roses all around it, cute little dainty ones and a few sunflowers and daisies when Eddie clears his throat and rubs his forehead.

“We need another break.”

“Mhm. If you work too hard you’re not gonna retain anything I’m trying to help you learn.” you answer before going quiet. You sit down your pencil and Eddie reaches out, taking the notebook. Looking at the sketch.

He grins as he hands it back to you. “You’re good.”

You laugh and shake your head, twisting a strand of hair around your finger as you do it. “Not really.”

“No, this is really good.”

You give him a little smile and shrug. “Not as good as your bats. Or the design you drew for the t-shirts.”

“Oh you liked that?” he chuckles. Stunned a little because he had no idea anybody knew he was the one who’d designed the shirts.

“OH!” you laugh. “You gotta see this one.” you dig around until you find what you were helping Astrid work on earlier in art, she wanted to make adverts for the next gig. Eddie took the paper when you held it out and he chuckled. You laugh quietly. “Astrid, she uh.. She’s really going all in on this band girlfriend thing. She wanted to make adverts to pass out before the next show.”

“She did, huh?”

“Mhm. To quote her, I’m the only person she thought could come up with a dark and badass design. She wants to surprise Gare and get that put on a shirt too.”

Eddie snickered quietly. “Pretty sure he’ll just rip it off her.”

“Oh god, yeah. But it’s the thought, right? She wants to do it all soft pink when she gets the shirt made. I told her red. She refuses to listen.” you mock a gag at the mention of the color pink. Eddie snickers again and drags his fingers through his hair.

“She uh… She invited me to come with her to the Hideout.” you go quiet after you say it. “I told her I’d go.”

“Really?” Eddie’s smiling, a smile entirely too big and he knows it shouldn’t excite him this much because he’s trying like hell to just be okay with being your friend -or at least the guy you talk to and hang around with because said guy happens to be best friends with your little brother, he’s too afraid to push his luck.

He doesn’t want to make things weird or mess up what he hopes will be at least friendship.

And the things he feels are so deep. Intense. They’re a little terrifying for him, truth be told.

“Y’know it’s crowded most of the time.. Right?”

“Yeah. I figure I can just like… Hang out with her and maybe I won’t notice.” you answer quietly. What you’re not telling him is that you want to be there. You want to see him light up with joy doing one of the things he loves because seeing him happy makes you happy.

Because it’s both scary and sappy as hell.

And you’re not good at handling either thing, but it can be argued lately that you’re trying a little bit on the sap and sweetness front.

Trying is the active word.

“I’ll be there. If it gets too much you can come to the back until we go on or something.”

You nod and give him another smile. “Yeah. I’ll… I’ll do that if it gets weird.” you stammer quietly. You catch sight of the time and you gape. “Oh shit.” you laugh a little. “I should probably get going.”

“C’mon. I’ll walk out with ya. Make sure your tire isn’t going flat again before you go.” he stands and you make your way into the living room. You stop to pull on your boots, using him to prop against and stay steady as you do so. As you step out and the night air hits you, you shiver a little and he laughs. “Told you you should’ve brought a jacket.”

“Ha ha ha, Munson.” you step a little closer. He’s taller and he blocks the wind reasonably well. Not to mention, you couldn’t stop yourself if you tried. “I’ll see you tomorrow.” you smile as you open the door to your car and he leans against it, gazing down at you. “Don’t drive like you’ve got a thousand lives to spare, alright?”

“Yeah yeah, okay, fiiiine.” you laugh as you pull the door closed.

Eddie watches as you drive away, waiting outside until the taillights are gone from view. Then he sits on the step, lights the last cigarette of the day and takes several long and deep breaths. Because he’s starting to realize that Dustin Henderson is right. If he keeps fighting it much longer, it’s going to drive him crazy. And if he has to be perfectly honest with himself, he’s not entirely sure he wants to fight it anymore.

But every time he thinks he’s ready to stop fighting it, he’ll try to find some way to clue you in or bring it up and he comes up blank. Or he talks himself right out of it.

Usually yes!! I love getting comments from my readers and I want them to know I appreciate it. if i don't reply it's usually because i think the comment is strange/rude or i just dont know what to say lol

def love me (and leave me to die) but it was hard to pick bc tbh im the angst queen (TOTK SPOILERS IN THIS FIC!!)

HyMart i'm going to pick this one because its happy all around and tbh idk what fic of mine is necessarily "happy" or has an ending that isnt streaked with tragedy or pain in some way whoops

probably my Post-SkSw fic for my Aftermath series . I have restarted this fic 3 times now and I just have no idea how I want to structure it, what I want the tone to be, things like that. Everything I put down never sounds right. Also I just don't have time lol

16. What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue for sure.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Character's inner monologues and scene transitions, I think. I find inner monologues interesting, but I don't think I excel at making them interesting for the reader. I tend to give too much away. As for scene transitions, I find that when I write them they come out very short and rushed.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I usually don't do this because I'm just not a fan. in my world everyone in Hyrule speaks perfect American English lol. jk but kinda not. it's just not something I'm really thinking about when I write? and if I do include other languages, the main character(s) are usually oblivious to it and I don't include actual syntax. I'll just say "they muttered something in a different language" or something similar.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Super Mario. In Kindergarten. I made picture stories. LMFAOOOOO

20. Favorite fic you've ever written?

love me and leave me to die this one probably. i worked super hard on it for zelink week 2023 and thought i presented some unique ideas. totk spoilers abound though lol

2023 Writing Reflection

This is a chunky one, so forgive me! I write fic. Sometimes (most of the time) I write lots of fic. It's basically a personality trait at this point, so I may as well ~talk about the thing~

I've posted alllll my fics for the year now. Last year I tracked how much I wrote vs posted, but this year I stopped tracking how much I was writing when I realised I wasn't going to hit my goal, but as always I wrote a TON (and posted only a fraction).

My posted fic stats for the year are:

208k words posted

80 fics posted (88 chapters total (avg wc: 2.3k))

55+ different character perspectives

33 different romantic ships

49 different platonic ships

29 different fandoms

Longest fic: 13k words

Shortest fic: 214 words

I posted fewer words this year compared to last, but the same number of fics - the numbers of perspectives and platonic vs romantic ships were pretty close, and I wrote for a couple more fandoms than last year. The stuff I wrote was more spread out, too (more on that soon).

I didn't manage to finish anything super long this year, which is a shame and I hope I can change that next year. I like writing longfic, but w a full time job this year I haven't had the attention span. I have several projects I'm really deep into that are unfinished!

These are my cumulative vs 2023 ao3 stats - not gonna dwell on them a ton, but I'm coming up on the 1.7mil mark for fic published on ao3 which is exciting!! I also find it helpful (to me) to reflect on stats every so often bc engagement stats are "fake". By fake, I mean I wrote good stuff I'm proud of, but largely in fandoms that don't read the kind of fic I was writing. People who've known me maybe 3/4 years will know that I've worked REALLY HARD to detach worth from engagement, and I think I can say I've succeeded now!!

The following images are from my ao3 'top 10' for all the fics I wrote this year. First up is Relationship tag, which is pretty funny because I only wrote four relationships more than once....and two of them were a flavour of Shalvis. Shoutout to Handers for being up there two years running btw.

My T>G>M rating distribution is almost exactly the same as last year, which is a thing?? I continue to be predictable. My relationship type distribution is weighted more gen, less m/m this year, but the rest are basically the same as before.

I wrote less FE this year compared to last year by a significant margin, and a bit more Dragon Age, but Xenoblade remained a mainstay (I wrote more Xenoblade this year than last, actually). Also interesting is I wrote more evenly distributed amongst FE games!

Anders is once again blorbo of the year as my most frequently written character, but written a lot less than last year - I wrote a wider variety of characters this year in general, actually! Shoutout to not one but TWO of my Dragon Age OCs (four of the five instances of Male Lavellan and all of the instances of 'Surana', which is an incorrectly wrangled tag for Nonbinary Surana) being in my top 10 this year.

Below is my top 10 additional tags for the year - they're all pretty close together still, with no standouts I'm always writing. Interestingly, fluff is not my favourite thing to write but it still just kinda happens! More on trans characters later (I did a comprehensive analysis for myself ahaha).

My 2023 in trans characters: I wrote 20 fics with trans characters, 21 with nonbinary characters, and 34 fics with trans/nonbinary characters total, which is a nice 42% of all fics I wrote this year. I wrote 52 trans/nonbinary depictions total, which is transing one gender per week (!!). Of those 52, there were 40 different characters I depicted as trans. 44 depictions were headcanons, 8 were canonically trans characters! This came to 23 trans men, 23 nonbinary people, and 6 trans women.

There were only six characters I wrote as trans more than once:

A(lvis) - 5 times. This was a chara who got revealed as canon nonbinary this year!

Adrel (my nonbinary Dragon Age OC) - 4 times

Alear - 3 times

Kagetsu, Shulk, and Byleth - 2 times each

Overall I had a really good writing year :) not in fic, I wrote a whole (!!?!??!) fantasy short story collection. I'm going to redraft + maybe more next year!! I'm really excited about it. I do have some goals for next year though - to finish some of my dang wips that have been sitting around forever, for one, and to write more for myself. I wrote a LOT of request fills and exchange pieces this year. Next year I want to write more thoughtfully + for me.

1. How many works do you have on A03?

I have only the one on AO3, I just started my account there not too long ago

2. What's your total A03 word count?

My wordcount is 78,284! It's one of the longest fics I've written in a long while

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Nowadays it's pretty much TAZ all the way down, but there's some old stuff I have on this blog that's WTNV adjacent and a couple things for The Arcana mobile game (playing in the setting with OCs, as is a preference of mine in general). I haven't locked up the deep archives of Marvel and Ranger's Apprentice and fuckin' Leverage, but I'm not gonna help you find them either

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

The only one I have on AO3 is Virtue and Vice, but the most popular fic I can find on here is Firelight and Beach Nights 1 & 2

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I love to respond to comments when I get them! I find them very encouraging and I will talk your ear off (or type your eyes off? is that a good perversion of that phrase? lol) about my Thoughts if you let me

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I don't know that I really have any with angsty endings? Most of my angsty ones are the ones I wrote alongside my rp with @the-barista-district as tie on/lead ins to that storyline

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Virtue and Vice has an ending that I'm really proud of, I feel like I managed to go full-circle on their story and end with a lot of potential and hope for the future. It's a story that became about growing up and choosing your family and who you want to be, and I lived in it for a year.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I have not and would cry (then delete the comment, bc fuck'em) if I did

9. Do you write smut?

I have written smut, yes. The stuff that's publicly posted is not my best (many years old now) and I won't link it, but it's all appropriately tagged #fanfic and #nsfw if you want to go searching (why?)

10. Do you write crossovers?

It has never occurred to me to do so. I'm generally more comfortable doing OC insert fic (with the exception of some TAZ stuff. Rping has helped me to figure out Kravitz so I'll write him sometimes) and I wouldn't know how to go about a crossover in that sort of niche

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not as far as I'm aware

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I haven't, but I've rped a bunch and I feel like that's similar in some aspects I guess. Just, yanno, not really a finished fic out of it

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

Taakitz is the one I gravitate towards, though I can also be persuaded by a Taagnus and a Blupjeans

15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I've got a Taakitz fic on the back burner where Krav is a ghost but there's a time-recursion aspect and he thinks he's the one being haunted for a bit. I'd like to finish that but my brain has decided I'm doing something else (it's a fun something else)(still debating if I'll post)

16. What are your writing strengths?

I enjoy the characters and relationships that I build. Some are stronger than others, but I feel like I can generally get to a point where they're believable, and different dynamics can shine through. I love to get bogged down in the "where's the difference between what they're willing to say/do, and what they're actually trying to communicate", "how do they feel and how do they think they feel"

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I have to agree with Noodyl here and say that tense is hard, POV is difficult (staying as close as I want the narration to feel is the part that gets me more than head-hopping). Getting into established characters is especially difficult (hense, OCs)

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I think it can be cool and have considered many times adding Spanish to things, pero no hablo ni escribo mucho en español (heh)

19. First fandom you wrote for?

One of my earliest is from the Ranger's Apprentice by John Flanagan, hidden deep in the archives of redacted where I shall not link the general public

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

There's been a lot of stories I love and a lot I've lived in over the years, even from the before tumblr times. Especially from those times. I'm just going to say Virtue and Vice again bc it's recent and I love it and I'm not linking to anything from my teenage years bc yeeesh

on neallo, yes. every single one. i reply bc it's a nice way to connect with the readers :-) i am really really behind on blondiest comments but there are also fewer since it's been so long since i updated anything 😭

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

probably nothing hurts like you do, though idk if that counts bc it's a prequel to holdyouhostage. shot in the dark has a not-happy ending, but it's meant to be very open-ended.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

hmmm!!! most of my fics have happy endings, to be honest. i think i would perhaps say it's you and me, that's my whole world bc that's my most indulgently hurtcomfort story 🥰

8. Do you get hate on fics?

i have! but only on one occasion (though it was a decent number of comments). i was told that i was an example of why modern fans can't write mello and near lmfao (<- was into death note in 2008. if i suck at writing them, i come by it honestly 😇)

9. Do you write smut. If so, what kind?

hehe. yes. i have written a pretty good variety of types of smut. i tried listing out the various acts here and then was like... let me not do this to myself. “what kind” ? hopefully the kind that is at least kinda hot 💋

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

no not really! i wouldn't rule it out but i've never had an idea for one. i did once write a fic loosely based on ‘this is just to say’ by william carlos williams, but it is not on neallo or blondiest and isn't for a fandom i have posted about on here.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

lmfao yeah, very recently

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

yes! i had a very short fic translated into french on the aforementioned mystery account lol

13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?

yes!!! voted most likely is a collaboration with my darling friend dee, and i have several fics with the beloved @empressofthewind

14. What's your all-time favorite ship?

meronia. it hit me so violently and has not let go for a full year. it's so over for me forever

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

hmmmm. honestly, i have my doubts about finishing voted most likely, sadly. i feel like the major, real conflicts were already solved, and the plans i had for the rest of the plot feel very drawn out now. i just want to let them be happy immediately lol. maybe i need to brainstorm a new ending 😔

16. What are your writing strengths?

i think my dialogue skills are pretty strong :-)

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

i am not, i don't think, particularly strong at descriptions of locations or of physical appearances lol

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

i prefer to have it in english and italics rather than including actual full phrases from the other language, bc i don't want to fuck up the grammar in another language and i also don't want to confuse readers. occasionally i will use individual words from another language (ingerasul meu lol), but i try to always provide in-text cues for what it is being said.

19. First Fandom you wrote for?

20. Favorite fic you've ever written?

oh god. i want to hold you (hostage), hands down. it's not close. i spent so much time on that story, and i became very fond of it.

Tagged by @lesbianlotties a while back, thanks :) I know you just tagged me in a similar one more recently but this one I can do more with atm xD also maybe it'll make me actually finish a fic, who knows! After not posting anything for nearly a month I just wrote what might be half of a ficlet last night at 2am and another bit at 7 so I'm naturally completely sleep deprived but ecstatic about the sudden bout of creativity!

this one's just an idea so far but I'd love to write a songfic to the storyline in 'He Set Her Off', either Berena or Avorah, definitely send me an ask if you want me to write one of them!

5. also just an idea so far: I'd love to write an And They Were Neighbors type situation but I can't even seem to decide which ship to write it for (Avorah? Milippa/Milippakat? Mirandy??) So atm it's just a file full of throwaway lines and some inspo fics... Might ask the author of one of them whether they'd be okay with me rewriting it for a different ship bc one of the fics really fits well especially to Avorah tho with a bit of a role reversal on the younger & older characters? Idk

Smiling gratefully, Bernie sits down at the edge of the tub, leaning forward with her arms on her knees for a moment, feeling quite content. She's barely in any pain at all now, and the sound of the water falling from the showerhead is soothing.

"Close your eyes," Serena murmurs, and when Bernie complies, she washes her hair for her, then rinses it out before quickly finishing her own clean-up, turning off the water and stepping out behind the shower curtain.

sorry for staying away so long - I was finishing up my semester and then my sibling had a little bit of a crisis so they came home for a couple days but I think all is mostly settled now!

first, I'm so sad that the tags were being stupid bc your grandsire!Aemond post was sooooooo flipping good! I'm not really someone who has much of an interest in having kids, but to echo a sentiment you've expressed in the past: for Aemond, I might consider it 😜

so, I know you've said in the past that you're not that into folk-y type music - which is totally valid - but I did listen to a couple songs that are on the more upbeat side of folk/rock/pop (?? kinda??? idk what genre is anymore lmao) that really reminded me of Aemond that I thought I would share. They're both by Delta Rae, and the first is called "Is There Anyone Out There" and the second is "Surrounded." Absolutely no pressure at all to listen - I was just going back through that album last night and the Aemond brainrot kicked in and prevented me from being normal about anything 😅

also, idk if you've addressed this before (if you have and I just missed it I'm so sorry! 😭) but do you think Aemond is insecure about his appearance because of his scar? He clearly takes a lot of pride in maintaining his clean-cut appearance and also seems very proud of his Targaryen silver hair, but do you think some of that comes from trying to make up for the fact that he feels like his scar has rendered him totally unattractive? (I mean, obviously not to us lmao, but like, if he perceives it that way). I'm just super curious to hear your thoughts on this bc I'm always ready to be even more sad about my poor little meow meow war criminals

I also have some long rambly thoughts on Targaryen inbreeding and face shape/facial features, but it may be too long and annoying so I won't put them here (also this ask has become a novel as always lol)

aaaaaaah I know I'm so sad too! I tried tweaking it as much as I could and it did not show! but I'm super happy you got to see it and that you enjoyed it. Hard same, I'm very firm about not wanting kids in real life, but idk what's been happening to me lately that I'm LOVING writing about them. I think it's giving me all the kind of fluff I need in my life right now because things are hard, but it makes it more enjoyable that people here like all of my children rambles! Also grandsire!Aemond is really hot to think about honestly talk about a GILF

Delta Rae...it does ring a bell! I think I have listened to a couple of songs from them in the past but I'm really shit at remembering, but yeah they do ring a bell! thank you so much for the rec, I'll definitely be checking them out! I'm always looking forward for blorbo music (lol) and these days, as you are, my brain is super focused in finding songs for Aemond!

Re: his appearance (I hope I make sense lol) Absolutely he's insecure! but I feel like it's a very complex thing. I think initially, right after his accident, and through the majority of his teenage years he must've been incredibly insecure, paranoid about people whispering about him, calling him slurs and so on. And the people of the time must have done precisely that, feeding his insecurities. Which is why he starts taking such care of him, letting his hair grow because of his pride in his Targaryen heritage. His hair must be the feature he's most proud of because of what it represents, so he must accentuate it by keeping it with such care, keeping it long, etc. He also starts training rigurously, not only the training of his body but his mind, cause if he's lacking in the physical, he must compensate with intellect. I do think after all of the work he puts in, he is confident in himself. Otherwise he wouldn't be cocky and have this air of superiority about him. He knows his worth now, knows that he's way more than his missing eye and scar. If people still whisper about him, I think he'd be more inclined to scoff at them, rather than let it affect him. He knows he can have anyone that wrongs him obliterated now, because of his skill in the blade and he's got Vaghar now. All of that boosts his confidence. But of course he must have his off days where that little boy inside of him comes back and he looks at his reflection and he's thrown back to his worst days. Inside there's still that resentful kid, otherwise he wouldn't be chasing off after Lucerys and continue to taunt him about taking his eye to pay for his. Anyway, hope I made sense!! I'm always hesitant about giving my take on Aemond because I'm no expert in Asoiaf!

And also feel free to drop your rambly thoughts, I enjoy them a lot!!

A little update of sorts:

I finally got back to Forever Starts Under the Ginkgo Tree after suffering a gnarly writer's block. Not quite done writing this last part but I'm getting there~

I started an origin story for my two OCs that will tie into my Dungeons and Dragons group, but it's a story that's been in my head for a LONG TIME.

Started writing down notes for Hazel and Gavin's Wedding Fic. (Then I started remembering all the details of my wedding and got a little overwhelmed 🤣)

So I have the first part of my OCs Origin Story typed out; eagerly getting the second part finished so it can be typed out, and still writing out the third part.

I have so many scenes in my cracked little mind that need to be written and honestly, it feels good to be this invested in my own characters 😅 Now if I could just DRAW these OCs, I would be ecstatic~

I promise I have not forgotten about the last part of Forever Starts Under the Ginkgo Tree! The material I wrote out for that last part seems off to me so I'm trying to revisit it and rework it somehow so it hopefully doesn't sound redundant or boring... I do plan on keeping the morning s*x part though😏

Forever Starts Under the Ginkgo Tree Part 9

Dear GEEZUS, this has been a very long time coming and I have my finicky Muse to thank for that (the highly distractive little brat), but yes, this little saga is finally done after about 2 years in the making?? So I hope y'all enjoy the final instalment of Forever Starts Under the Ginkgo Tree~ 💙 thank you all who have been reading it and have been very patient for each instalment~

~~Sunday 7:30am~~

"Wakey wakey, my love~" Hazel gently whispered in Gavin's ear. A soft moan came from her fiancé, still touring dream land.

"Ngh, how is it that you're awake before me," he shifted towards her, "and here I thought I wore you out last night."

In a swift move by her deft fiancé, Hazel was back on the bed and under him, playfully laughing as he snuggled into the crook of her neck. A hand had snuck up her pajama top and lightly fondled her breast, his fingers gently pinching an already hardening nipple.

“Mmm, how are you this frisky so early in the morning, my love," Hazel giggled

He smiled into her neck before kissing it.

“I could ask you the same thing,” he answered, nibbling her ear before trailing back down to her neck. Lifting his head, he leaned in for a kiss while his knee parted her legs enough for his hand to move downward. Hazel anticipated that delicious next move—

A few moments passed before Hazel opened her eyes to find Gavin had disappeared.

“Huh,” she sat up and looked around, her bleary gaze settling on the sleeping form of her fiancé next to her.

‘What the hell? That was a DREAM?!’

Silently waging war on her rudely overactive imagination, her small tantrum roused the officer from his sleep.

“Mm, what’s wrong, my love?”

“Nothing…,” she whimpered, thoroughly duped by her very convincing wet dream.

Gavin sat up, shifting closer to his visibly dejected bride-to-be and nuzzled into the back of her neck, taking in her scent.

“You sure nothing’s wrong," he wrapped his arms around her torso and rested his chin on her shoulder.

“Y-yeah, I just had a super realistic dream, that’s all," she shivered at his touch.

“Oh? And what was it about?"

Hazel felt her face get uncomfortably warm as she recalled the unfinished business of her lewd dream.

“W-well, I guess you could think of it as a continuation of our…session last night.”

“Is that right,” he inquired, mildly intrigued by this dream of hers. He glanced over at the clock on her nightstand, it read 6:56am, he then had an idea.

“Judging from your cute pout, I’d say this dream of yours was…unfinished?”

Hazel squeaked at his deduction, squirming in his embrace as one bold hand found itself in her pajama bottoms.
