during a job hunt, you either get the trashiest UX known to man (LinkedIn) or the exact same UI except for colors and the brand, and you have to register from the ground-up again (Dogfinance and Tekkit)
like? (and last time I tried applying to this company, I had to register to this website just to get the company's website, which then lead application website, which I also had to register myself to)
I tried bypassing this shit by going straight to the company website, and...
In the grand tapestry of adulthood, job hunting emerges as a rite of passage—a journey that’s as much about discovering ourselves as it is about finding our place in the professional realm. This quest, while daunting, is a canvas for growth, resilience, and ultimately, fulfillment. For those of us passionate about etching a career path that not only sustains us but also contributes to the larger narrative of sustainability and impact, the journey is even more poignant.
Here’s to the Dreamers and the Doers:
Your Story is Your Power: In a sea of applicants, your unique journey, your passion for change, and your unwavering commitment to a better world are what set you apart. Craft your applications with the essence of your story, letting your authentic voice shine through.
The Art of Tailoring: Each job application is a fresh canvas, an opportunity to align your narrative with the ethos of the organizations committed to sustainability. Show them not just why you fit, but how together, you can paint a greener, more vibrant future.
Connections That Count: Forge your tribe—reach out to mentors, engage with communities passionate about sustainability, and immerse yourself in conversations that matter. Remember, networking is not about collecting contacts; it’s about building relationships that inspire and propel you forward.
A Lifelong Learner’s Quest: The landscape of sustainability is ever-evolving, a testament to our collective endeavor to innovate and overcome challenges. Stay curious, stay informed, and let your journey of learning be a testament to your dedication to making a difference.
Resilience in the Face of Rejection: Each 'no' is but a stepping stone, a redirection towards the opportunity that aligns with your heart’s true calling. Embrace rejection as a teacher, guiding you with lessons of perseverance and grit.
In this odyssey of job hunting, let your passion for sustainability be the lighthouse guiding you through turbulent seas. Remember, it’s not just about landing a job; it’s about manifesting a career that mirrors your values, fuels your passion, and amplifies your impact on the world.
So, dear Tumblr family, let’s share our journeys, our hopes, and our victories. Whether it’s a story of a recent triumph, a lesson learned in the face of adversity, or a moment of clarity on this path, your narrative has the power to inspire and encourage.

Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life, one where I find myself not heading to work. Just last Friday, I received the news that I had lost my job. In the aftermath, there were a few days of confusion, a jumble of emotions swirling within me. I couldn't quite tell if I was harboring resentment or seething with anger. People suggested I should try to box up these feelings, so that's exactly what I'm attempting to do.
This isn't the first time I've faced such a situation. The last time it happened, I spiraled into a deep depression. Fortunately, I sought help and received the support I needed. It took me about two weeks to rediscover the secret of getting back on track.
Now, I find myself at a crossroads once again. Should I dive right into job hunting, or should I take a moment to revisit my past experiences? Perhaps there are valuable lessons waiting to be learned from my previous job loss.
Honestly, right now, I'm lacking the energy for either option. What I really feel like doing is some retail therapy, indulging in a bit of shopping.
I'm at a loss, uncertain about what my next steps should be. If anyone has been through a similar situation, I could use some guidance. HELP!!!
can anyone confirm that demographic info that "doesnt get shown to employers" actually is not shown to the employers because there is no way my luck is this bad

Researcher’s Corner: At the intersection of autism and libraries
I’m really pleased to be able to present this piece by Dr. Amelia Anderson, which details her research into the workforce experiences of autistic librarians. She says something quite important in her second paragraph,
“In my mind, if more hiring managers and supervisors were aware of some of the issues, practices may improve for autistic librarians. Even just having an understanding that there…
once again I will be doing a test for a skill I do not possess while trying to convince an agency intermediary that I don't mind a 2H commute, as if the greatest impediment to me getting a job is my own unwillingness to be inconvenienced
I am not ready to face the hassle and stress of job hunting again. But a work opportunity won't gracefully falls into my lap (unlike my cat). So I guess I have to start putting my name out there like I did last time. Huh.
everyone's always like you have to reach out to employers who don't contact you after you submit applications and oh you have to write a cover letter and it has to be Your Best Cover Letter Ever Every Time but imma be real with you. i've had a bunch of jobs over the last, idk, 6yrs, and not one time has messaging an employer or writing a cover letter helped. not a single fucking time. so now i just don't do it. if my qualifications, application materials, scores on the jobhunting sites' stupid skills assessment tests, and references from past employers aren't enough then they're just not gonna get me as an employee. i'm sending in way too many applications to message or write a cover letter for every single one. they don't read them anyway. i've gotten rejections from jobs 3yrs after applying (dead serious). like it does not matter. just send as many applications as you can and eventually someone will bite or someone you know IRL will be able to get you into an opening somewhere. easy apply options are your friend.
lets all just stop wasting time and effort on shit that doesn't even matter.
