do you have songs that you feel represent certain characters?
Damn I've been kind of waiting for an ask like this because Yes I absolutely do.
Lili: "WantMe" by RITCHRD, "Everyone's a V.I.P. to Someone" and "Huddle Formation" by the Go! Team, "You Needed Me" by Anne Murray
Sera: "Gravestone without a Date" by Shiro SAGISU (also the bossa version, which i think fits Sera more), "4:00 AM" by Taeko Onuki (also fits Powers well)
Powers: "Love Was Really Gone" by Makoto Matsushita, "Manchild" by Eels, "Who Will Know" by Shiro SAGISU, "Papa, Can You Hear Me?" by Barbra Streisand (I also consider this song the peak Powers song)
Cheri: "Fly Me to the Moon" by Frank Sinatra, "Cycle Song" by Imogen Heap
Junior: "Don't Know Why" by Norah Jones, "Gone Guru" by Lifeseeker
Ciel: "Nobody" by Mitski, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" by Regina Spektor
Catty: "Boyfriend, Girlfriend" by Tyler the Creator
Domino: "Bad Boys" by Wham!, "Dancing on Quicksand" by Bad Suns, "Death by Glamour" from Undertale
Adam: "Halfcrazy" by Musiq Soulchild
Luvart: "The Ballad of Billy the Kid" by Billy Joel, also I think death metal would suit her
Eva: "Mirrors" by Caravan Palace, "C'est Comma Ca" by Paramore (but the Wet Lag version), "Soldier of Love" by Sade
Mara: "Kitty Kat" by Megan Thee Stallion, "Trampoline" by Kero Kero Bonito
Scylla: "STFU" by Rina Sawayama, "OKAY SHAWTY" by Kwe the Artist, "Break Shit" by Jasiah
Shuck: "Me and Michael" by MGMT
Also I consider "Something Stupid" by Frank and Nancy Sinatra the peak Sera and Lili song

so . .. . dorothea lange, pirkle jones, photographers, document the town of Monticello as it's destroyed to make way for the damming of the Berryessa Valley to create a reservoir for budding agricultural activity in Solano & Yolo, an industry in itself made possible by leveeing the Sacramento River, "reclaiming" the central valley from its previous seasonal floodplain status, ffw 70 years to droughts droughts droughts caused in great part by the water consumption of the agribusiness. In the end the ghosts of the people of Monticello return to destroy the Monticello Dam, and begin making their way east to breach the levees on the Sacramento River for their ultimate REVENGE!!!! while Lange and Pirkle fly over in a crop duster, back from the dead to document the Un-Death of the Valley. (etching w hardground, aquatint, drypoint, roulette(?), and woodcut)
meanwhile up north in Oregon, a group of lumberjacks gnaws the last old growth ponderosa to the ground, to be replaced with stands upon stands of tidy industrial forest. meanwhile, on a clifftop above, Columbia makes a grave miscalculation and drives the Train of Progress right off the cliff edge into the plantations below, followed by Paul Bunyan and Babe the blue ox. Incorporate. . . . . smokie the bear somehow?? to round out the trinity of icons of the settler industries/land mgmt/etc. (color lithograph with crayon, tusche washes, and deletions)
Aaaaand print #3 i haven't settled on yet. A reduction woodcut is the logical choice to round out the traditional methods but also it would only b my second ever and might take longer than i have
AND THEN I HAVE A BFA AND I CAN LEAVE!!

Pick one of my 5 different personalities to hang out with
N. 4
Tumblr media
Dresses either in tight-fitting dark turtlenecks or in blowy white shirts with puffy sleeves and there's no in-between
Overdoses on caffeine
Helps you review before exams
Stays up studying until the first lights of the new day, just to go outside and watch the dawn
Sleeps in and has an irregular sleep schedule
Jokes and chats with friends but gets silent, cold and intimidating with strangers
Always late for lessons
Falls asleep on the armchair waiting for you to finish studying/working
If it's not coffee, it's earl grey
Doesn't talk much unless it's about the completely random topic that has them hooked this time
A complete failure in initiating and maintaining social connections
Eye bags and tired smiles
Hates sunny weather with a burning passion
Their love language is physical contact, so they avoid it unless it's with people that are important in their life
Has a favorite spot in front of a big window, where they like to sit and read
Listens to classical music to feel more dramatic
Comfort place is the library or old coffee shops in winter
Can't really focus on one topic, is always reading and researching on various topics that may have nothing to do with their major

It's Tag Game Tuesday
(except its thursday...)
tagged by @messier-47 Name: Rat/Kio/Kiokesu
Pronouns: It/Its
Where you call home: the Lone Star State, my bedroom
Favorite animal: Wolves!
Favorite Cereal: Captain crunch oops all berries
Are you a visual, audio, or kinesthetic learner: Little bit of all three, mostly kinesthetic tho!
First pet: 4 black cats named Bell, Rogue(y), Beck, and Einstein. Though einstein died either before I was born or when I was really young.. He was called Einstein because of how smart he was. He died by opening the front door and running out into traffic
Favorite Scent: Lavender, Cinnamon rolls, Cleaning supplies
Do you believe in astrology: Some of that stuff is scarily accurate. I don't like how accurate it is...
How many playlists do you have on Spotify/apple music: I currently share an account with people but I only have one of my own playlists on there, but on my old account I have exactly 100 self-made playlists. Wow.
sharpies or highlighters: Sharpies smell better
A song that makes you cry: Happy Now by Zedd, Tea & Toast by Lucy Spraggan, Dear Me by Nicole Nordeman (It's the religious trauma), and In the Bedroom Down the Hall by Rachel Bay Jones which is an unused demo from Dear Even Hansen. Most DEH songs slap, but this one gets me in my feels.
A song that makes you happy: I've been listening to nightcore again lately and Hooked by Why Don't We has really got me headbanging. Also Geronimo by Sheppard, just a classic for me. (Song related but not a question asked, I have Kids by MGMT in my playlist 33 times. And rock + roll by EDEN is in there 13 times. Why? Because I didn't have spotify premium and I wanted to loop my songs)
Do you write/draw/create: I write and draw, also do crafts sometimes. Most of my more recent public works are over a year old because a lot of my private works are so self indulgent
I tag @piinkchild @professionalscribbler @shadowoffandoms @unyanizedcatboys @zinc-is-trash @puppsworld @slasherslimes @xnekoku @eternalknoxy @tammydrawz @violetryst

The Kids' Music Tastes, In My Verse.
Adrian Forman: Loves Alien Ant Farm, Papa Roach, Daft Punk, and Linkin Park. The kids make fun of him for liking Coldplay, until "Viva La Vida" comes out and James likes it. Is introduced to old school jazz via the Fallout series, and definitely takes a liking to it.
Ashley Tate: Is a huge fan of The Cheetah Girls, Destiny's Child, B2K, Usher, Christina Milian, Ciara, and Ashanti as a tween/in her early teens. As an older teen, she loves Ne Yo, Rihanna, Jazmine Sullivan, and Chris Brown (until he shows his true colors). Is the biggest Beyonce stan you will ever meet.
Becca Hyde: Is the biggest Zeppelin fan out of the kids, and is also a big fan of Blondie, Heart, and Fleetwood Mac. Loves 90s grunge, like Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Smashing Pumpkins, and other 90s staples like No Doubt, Alanis Morissette, and Garbage. Loves "quirky" pop like Billie Eilish, Lorde, Marina and the Diamonds, Lana Del Rey, Lily Allen, and The Veronicas.
Betsy Kelso: Loves Pink Floyd, The Doors, and AC/DC. Was a big fan of New Kids on the Block as a kid. She still likes REM, the Barenaked Ladies, and Smash Mouth.
Hannah Kelso: Was a huge Backstreet Boys fan as a tween, and liked(s) One Direction as an adult. Is the devout Swiftie of the group, and loves country music, too.
James Hyde: A big fan of The Black Keys, Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, Eminem, Fort Minor, Gorillaz, Arctic Monkeys, Hozier, and The Killers. Gets Leah to like The 1975, and Leah gets him to like Franz Ferdinand. He has a soft spot for Mumford and Sons and Of Monsters and Men, but he can't get into The Lumineers and Bleachers (*stares at Leah*).
In terms of older stuff, he's a big fan of Zeppelin, The Stones, The Who, The Doors, The Eagles, Steely Dan, and the Allman Brothers Band. He has a soft spot for Elton John and James Taylor. Isn't a fan of the harder stuff, like Jethro Tull, the Ramones, and the Sex Pistols, amongst others.
Kate Forman: Has a mix of her mother's love for singer/songwriter stuff and her father's love for soft rock.
Old stuff: Simon and Garfunkel, Carole King, James Taylor, Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, Bread, America, Elton John, Wings, and The Beatles.
Newer stuff: Adele, Lewis Capaldi, Alicia Keys, John Mayer, Five for Fighting, Coldplay, Sara Bareilles, Sheryl Crow, Jewel, Sixpence None The Richer, Norah Jones, Michelle Branch, KT Tunstall, Corinne Bailey Rae, and Vanessa Carlton. Has a soft spot for Natasha Bedingfield.
Leah Forman: Is a huge Parawhore. Also loves Panic at the Disco, Fall Out Boy, The Cab, Vampire Weekend, MGMT, The All American Rejects, Franz Ferdinand, and Blink 182. Loved Avril Lavigne and Pink, before they sold out, around 07/08. She has loved The Beatles, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Weezer, and Green Day since she was little. Also enjoys Muse and The Killers.
Later on, she's a fan of Neon Trees, Bleachers, The Lumineers, Of Monsters and Men, Two Door Cinema Club, Walk the Moon, and Mumford and Sons.

NME has an article up about Louis’ Manila concert moving to a larger venue. NME has no article about AFHF. Nothing despite other acts participating. Simon Jones published the press release/article on his website and not a single music publication is reporting on the festival. None. So either Louis’ PR person, his mgmt team and the label involved - BMG or Sony if we’re still contractually in the Walls era - decided not it was a good decision to write up a press release about the festival but not to send it to a single music outlet or the music outlets are refusing to publish anything about the festival despite tickets going on sale today. And yet Louis will sell this one out too. He’s doing it despite the industry.
At this point, Louis is grassroots artist. Or maybe a mixture of “very famous” and “very blacklisted,” the kind of artist that pisses the industry off because it has done everything it can against him, yet he still thrives.
If that’s not rock ‘n roll, then what is?
As for Simon Jones, he is decorative at this point— at best. I hope Louis is barely paying SJPR, because Louis’ UAs are more effective at promoting Louis than SJPR, and the (good ones) aren’t getting paid for it.
Also, if I were an artist looking for a PR agency, and seeing the job SJPR is doing for Louis, I would run as fast as possible in the opposite direction. No pun intended.
