It was hard to choose from kpop songs but I love MAMAMOO. Picking my favorite song was also hard but I love this one. I can listen to it over and over again.
Katteni My Soul by DISH
My favorite Ginatama opening. A close second was Tougenkyou Alien, and all SPYxFAMILY openings and endings were on my mind, but yeah, I chose that one. It was always making me excited for new epsiode.

Favourite gintama op?
it’s impossible for me to choose one, so I’ll just make a list of my top 5.
1. Katteni My Soul- DISH// (OP 20)
The perfect song which fits the mood for Gintama’s Shounen-like arcs. Fast paced, hella good lyrics, and an overall masterpiece.
2. I Wanna Be..-SPYAIR (OP 21)
Tears throughout.
3. Know Know Know- DOES (OP 17)
DOES literally only produced bangers. This OP had amazing visuals and was just really fucking epic. I’m waiting for them to come back from hiatus
4. Tougenkyou Alien- Serial TV Drama (OP 9)
The most apt song that fits with Gintama’s vibe. Crazy, unpredictable, and out of this world.
5. Pride Kakumei- CHiCO With HoneyWorks (OP 15)
Beautiful song, and the visuals fit the lyrics perfectly. Plus the soul switch sequence of Gintoki and Hijikata looked so good.

katteni: Wok of Love, eps.9-12
Wok of Love may not be the easiest kdrama to appreciate, especially when it’s pitched as a comedy (as comedies are normally considered to be light entertainments). I often come across people saying that they find the characters Seo Poong and/or Dan Sae Woo annoying. I’m not sure if the script or the editing is all to blame for that, but either way it certainly makes it rather hard for the audience to understand them. To me, however, that is the very point that makes the drama fascinating, as those supposedly nonsensical lines and actions make me want to figure out what lies beneath them, and the fascination has been truly growing as the episodes unfold the story and drop us more hints to be deciphered. I like solving puzzles, and that’s that. On the other hand, I do realise that a drama does not have to be a puzzle, and viewers should be able to enjoy a work in any way they want. So, there may be the drawback of the drama there, not being able to satisfy a wide range of viewers, except partially.
I knew that SP would look an unlikable character in the beginning as it’s partly his fate as the protagonist of the story, but I honestly didn’t expect to find SW being denounced as well. She started out as a charmingly quirky character whom most of us find refreshing, until she was put in the middle of the love triangle. Judging from the comments I’ve read, it seems that her recent attitudes and behaviours towards CS and SP are beginning to distance the viewers from her. In Episode 9, she makes CS promise to end his crush on her as she is a married woman, and then in Episode 10, she suggests that SP have a one-night affair with her, which she eventually takes back with a slap on his face when he offers to make her a special dish with her favourite almonds. Without an understanding of her character and the parallel structure of the drama, this description would be enough to make the viewers frown at her inconsistencies (even with the changes in her situation and feelings in mind).
From the very beginning of the drama, the characters and the settings are nicely, and oftentimes not-so-subtly contrasted. There are DH who does not appreciate SP’s dishes and hates the smell of chunjang (black bean paste) and SW who wants SP to cook for her and loves jajangmyeon, CS who falls in love at first sight but does not listen to SW’s advice about the haircut (this is apparently an important point as SW clearly says that her husband would not cut his hair like a gangster if she tells him not to) and SP who needs time to notice his true feelings because of his habitual repression but is listening to every word SW says including having a shave (which results in the strange shaving scene at the wedding), the kingdom of Giant Hotel and Finishing Touch (without jajangmyeon) and the family of CS building and Hungry Wok (with jajangmyeon), SP’s wedding without the marriage registration and SW’s marriage without a wedding, the CEO with rich parents always working out without doing much work and SP with the absence of rich parents always working hard with no time to work out (and he sucks at having a fist fight), CS with the sauce of jajangmyeon on his face and SP with chunjang on his face, SW inviting SP and CS to her wedding to eat after (half) asking if they are busy the next day and SP asking SW to be his first customer if she is not busy the next day, SP’s claim of a wink being racy and Donk-Sik’s wife’s wink, and so on and so forth. Then in Episode 7, we are reminded of the parallel structure as Seol Ja and Chef Wang show their skills in handling the knives in the cut back shots.
SW’s suggestion of having an affair becomes explicable in this light. She did not suggest it simply out of spite or despair. This actually provides a parallel to the ending of Episode 4, where SP offered SW a fortune cookie (followed by something else to eat: eating is living) to stop her from killing herself. There also might be SW’s unconscious interest in SP working there, but the major part of her motivation in this behaviour is to help SP come back to the world of living. When SP asks SW to join him to the Han River bridge and have a drink (and then perhaps die), SW declines with a strange excuse of too much fine dust flying. Then, having noticed SP’s despair, SW makes the suggestion, claiming that it’s better than dying.
How she behaves in the car can also be explained if seen in the light of this parallel structure. This scene works in contrast with the scene where SW makes CS promise to end his crush on her. While SW’s scene with CS makes one feel that SW is trying hard to prevent herself from starting to feel for CS (and thus the scene may seem like a promise of the development in their relationship), it simultaneously proves SW’s moving feelings for SP. As I have already discussed a few times, SP has been living a life of repression and is gradually changing because of SW. As it turns out, SP was not the only one who has been holding back his true feelings. It is made clear in Episode 7, when we hear the wise words from Buster after the surgery, that one of the lessons to be learnt is not holding back on showing affection, and this points at SW’s psychological issue of her tendency to deny her true feelings. As she does with CS, SW tries to deny the awakening of her feelings towards SP. We are yet to learn how conscious SW is of her own feelings, but she is clearly disturbed by the fact that she liked being kissed by SP. Her tears are those of confusion, and she admits that she is crying not because SP kissed her against her will (he didn’t do anything wrong) but because she didn’t know she was “that kind of woman” who would like being kissed by a married man when she was still supposedly in love with her now-divorced husband. This is when she takes up the denial process by saying SP looks ugly and the beating he’s got makes him look uglier. Just as she tried to make CS give up on her by showing some of the unattractive things about her (which were still attractive to CS), SW is now trying to find reasons not to fall for SP. However, even this attempt of hers conversely betrays her true feelings. What SW talks about in her attempt to make CS hate her is rather vulgar: From farting to taking a dump, having food stuck in her teeth, and then having cavities; these are all things that happen after eating. On the other hand, SW cannot help comparing SP to food (raisins and almonds; clear forms of her desire) even when she is trying to deny her attraction to SP.
Some viewers may have difficulties in seeing SP’s and SW’s feelings for each other all the more because the characters’ acknowledgement of their romantic awakening is one of the themes in the first quarter of Wok of Love. SP’s feelings are growing from his needs for acknowledgement and appreciation to something more romantic and fiery, as they have become quite visible in the recent episodes. Since he is a very perceptive person and already echoing Buster’s wise words of not holding back on one’s true cravings (the almond-tofu dish), I’m really interested in his future behaviours now that he has realised his feelings for SW. I have no idea how SW is going to figure out her own feelings yet, but that gives me what to look for as well. It seems that SW instinctively knows SP is the person who would satiate her hunger, but she, with that soft and kind soul, would not be able to turn a blind eye to CS either (even more so when CS is going to get hurt in the next episode!).
There are still so much more puzzles to solve in Wok of Love, such as the mysteries behind SW’s parents (and the document behind the shop counter) and the identity of the gum-peddling lady (and the meaning of her suggestive look in Episode 11). I’m sure I’ll enjoy the unfolding of the characters’ past and their relationships, as well as the developments in SP-SW-CS relationships, not just in terms of the love triangle. I also have a few reservation points of my own, which may not be such a big deal for others, but in any case, I can clearly say there is nothing boring about Wok of Love, mostly thanks to the wonderfully convincing performances by all the actors.

"Gintama" TV Anime "Shirogane no Tamashii" Arc Latest Preview Introduces OP Song by DISH//
The official Twitter for the TV anime adaptation of Hideaki Sorachi's comedy manga series Gintama has introduced a 30-second preview for its upcoming final long story arc Shirogane no Tamashii-hen (Silver Soul Arc) posted on Bandai Namco Pictures' official YouTube channel. The clip features the new OP song for the arc, "Katteni MY SOUL" (Willfully My Soul) performed by five-member dance rock band DISH//. The CD single of their 11th single song is set to be released on February 21, 2018.
The Shirogane no Tamashii-hen (Silver Soul Arc) is set to premiere on TV Tokyo, TV Hokkaido, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, and TVQ Kyushu Housou on January 7, 2018, then on TV Osaka one day later.

"Gintama" TV Anime "Shirogane no Tamashii" Arc Set to Premiere on January 7, 2018
The official Twitter for the TV anime adaptation of Hideaki Sorachi's comedy manga series Gintama announced today on December 11 that the next series based on the manga's final arc Gin no Tamashii-hen (Silver Soul Arc) is set to premiere on TV Tokyo, TV Hokkaido, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, and TVQ Kyushu Housou on January 7, 2018, then on TV Osaka one day later.
Following the well-received three seasons from 2006 to 2016, Gintama., the fourth season of the TV anime adaptation was first aired for 12 episodes from January to March of this year. Then after the rebroadcast of select episodes, its Porori-hen has been aired since October. The manga's final arc Gin no Tamashii-hen started with its 596th chapter published in July 2016.
