@dorothygale123; The Demon Bull King turning out to be the decendant of the Flame Emperor/Divine Peasant (more commonly known as "Divine Farmer") actually gives his side of the story some extra spicyness! It also gives the Jade Emperor + Queen Mother greater reason to have not wanted Iron Fan and DBK to get hitched - thats some "about to be overthrown"-level of political clout. It also gives DBK a really cool motivation to rebel against Heaven + rule over earth: in his mind, his ancestor deserved to be Emperor over mankind and heaven for the good he did.
Shennong/Divine Peasant appears in a collection of mythos regarding the ancient age of "Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors". Each being is different depending on who you ask, but Shennong is always one of the Sovereigns, alongside Nuwa, Fuxi, and rarely Gonggong (god of water). The Five Emperors include the Yellow Emperor and his more noteworthy decendants. Shennong is either depicted as the Yellow Emperor's brother, or his father (again sources issue), but I prefer to go with the "waring brothers" angle since it makes it a juicy conflict. Apparently around this era there was co-ruling Five August Emperors nicknamed; the Yellow, Black, White, Red, and Blue-Green Emperors. Jade Emperor's rule occurs a bit later since he was busy doing 327 millions years of meditation before the Big God Yuanshi Tianzun declared him God-Emperor over the others.
Shennong/Divine Peasant is said to have failed to overthrow his brother, but was still beloved by his people (aww). And he pretty much spent the rest of his life dedicated to helping humanity understand fire, edible vs medicinal plants, and agriculture. For the guy who taught humanity farming to be a bull-man is oddly poetic in a way. Also major chad move of him; fails to overthrow the big Emperor (like his decendant), and instead of whining gets to experimenting on himself with wild plants so he can take care of his people better. He is said to have died via a flower-eating experiment gone wrong though.
I actually tracked down your source so I could read it for myself, cus Nuwa's parentage changes quite a bit depending on the sources; some say thunder god dad, some say Emperor dad, others say she was a primoridal parasite on Pangu's body etc... From the book you have, it appears that Shennong/Divine Peasant named his youngest daughter after Nuwa the goddess. The same character also dies as a child and transforms into the Jingwei bird, making it rather difficult for this Nuwa to be the same one who created humanity.
It should also be mentioned that "Yan/Yangdi/Flame/Firey Emperor" applied to multiple kinsman deities who held power at the same time who weren't related genetically. Houtu (another suspect of creating SWK) is even mentioned as a "Yan Emperor". The idea of the Divine Peasant and The Earth itself (themselves ancestors/creators of DBK and SWK) being sworn bros seems very cool af.
In short: DBK and SWK aren't related, but their ancestors/creators def knew eachother and were buddies - so much so that Shennong named one of his kids after Nuwa. Also this means DBK holds a threateningly large claim to the Celestial Throne if he ever argued for it.
I feel like if Shennong ever appeared in the LMK universe (like via the Scroll of Memory or another artifact), he'd look like a massive auroch-like minotaur/bull demon holding farming equipment. Red Son probably meets him on accident while trapped in the Scroll, and it takes Red until afterwards to realise that the "peasant bull" was his many-great-grandfather.
Also, here's my silliest reaction to learning that Shennong/Flame Emperor/The Divine Peasant is a literal cow-man;

Rules: give us the links to your fic with the most hits, second most kudos, third most comments, fourth most bookmarks, fifth most words, and fic with the least words.
Was tagged by @hippolotamus @wikiangela @thewolvesof1998 @wildlife4life, Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I seriously need to pick up the pace with my wips
Most hits Fic:
-When life tears you asunder, but you're not alone: (stranger things,
Max & Eddie, siblings dynamic) Co-written with @made-ofmemories Billy was a pretty shitty brother, there was no denying it, but Max still finds herself mourning for the sibling relationship they never got to have. With him gone she thinks so are her chances of ever having the big brother figure she’s always wanted. Then in a turn of events that she never saw coming, Eddie Munson waltzes into her life. Or more like, almost runs her over.
Most kudos: (The second one with most Kudos is also When life tears you asunder, so this is the most Kudos one)
-Too busy being yours to fall for someone new: Buddie Co-written with @made-ofmemories (we tend to enthuse each other with fic ideas and end up writing together a lot :3)
Natalia helps Buck pick a couch for his apartment, but when the wrong one gets delivered he starts to think maybe it's some kind of cosmic sign from the universe.
Determined to not let his best friend mope to death, Eddie decides it's time that he helps Buck find a couch so that he can stop associating a piece of furniture with the success or failure of his romantic relationships.
And he does, Buck finds the one.
Third Most comments:
Mornings in bed: (Ronance)
She’s an active person, a busy body, and her interests also demand for her to be constantly on the move, but she loves days like this when she can stay home. It’s cold outside, they’ll probably get the first snow of the season by next week, but she’s warm. She’s oh so warm laying in bed, there’s the weight of an arm around her torso and a leg draped over her hip. How can she feel anything but warmth when she’s in the arms of her Robin.
Fourth most bookmarks:
Kissing his neck: (The mandalorian, gn reader insert)
Kissing his neck and finding out he’s really sensitive there:
You’re both inside the cockpit, the baby peacefully sleeping inside his pram in the cargo hold, he just activated the hyperspace stretching his arms to the front and cracking his neck, when you noticed the strip of skin between his helmet and the high neck of his tunic.
Fifth most words:
A life in retrospection: (Kinsman, Agent Whiskey/Female reader)
He couldn’t believe this was his life now.
He thought as he watched, through a window from the inside of his warm home, as the snowflakes fell outside.
Couldn’t believe he was capable of feeling such happiness again, not after everything he’s had to live through.
A few years ago, he almost committed the biggest mistake of his entire existence, condemning millions of people just because of his trauma. Good thing a pair of gentlemen helped knock some sense into him. Literally. And god bless Champ for giving him a second chance, since then, his life had been filled with second chances.
Fic with the least words:
Eparavur takisit - Apologise: (Pure Angst, no comfort. Din Djarin/gn reader)
“No, no…no, no, please no. Cyare…Cyare please…” Din’s broken voice came through his helmet. “Please don’t leave me, please, I need you.” He knew in his mind you couldn’t hear him, not anymore.
No pressure tags:
@made-ofmemories @your-catfish-friend @diazblunt @loserdiaz @alyxmastershipper @crowleywasagryffindor and anyone who wants to do it!

I'd like to ask for prayers about my job, please -- I've been trying to get disability accommodations for months and I'm so tired, and I know job hunting while working will be just as exhausting as trying to wrangle doctors and all... I just want my energy back
I'm so sorry to hear that you're having a hard time getting the disability accommodations you need. If you haven't already, it might be worth seeing if you can get a charity / support organisation to become involved in helping you access disability accommodations. Having someone step in and help you with the work should hopefully alleviate a lot of your burden.
I have attached some prayers under the readmore that you might find comforting.
Prayers to Saint Jude
Most Holy Apostle St. Jude Thaddeus, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of the enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many, but the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases and of things despaired of.  Pray for me who am so needy; make use, I implore you of that particular privilege accorded to you to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired.  Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings particularly (here mention your petition) and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity.  I promise you, O blessed Jude to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you.  Amen.
---
Most holy Apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, I place myself into your hands at this difficult time.  Help me to know that I am not alone.  Please pray for me, asking God to send me comfort for my sorrows, bravery for my fears, and healing for my suffering.  Ask our loving God to strengthen my faith and give me the courage to accept His Will for my life. Thank you, St. Jude, for the hope you offer to all who believe in you.  Amen.
--
O Holy St. Jude, Apostle and Martyr, great in virtue and rich in miracles, near kinsman of Jesus Christ, faithful intercessor of all who invoke your special patronage in time of need, to you I have recourse from the depth of my heart and humbly beg to whom God has given such great power to come to my assistance.  Help me in my present and urgent petition.  In return, I promise to make your name known and cause you to be invoked.  St. Jude pray for us all who invoke your aid.  Amen.
Prayer for problems at work
Dear Lord, I confess the burden I carry at work, it feels too heavy, too cumbersome to lift, to carry daily. Please come and give me freedom from this weight, change the circumstances of this situation, free my heart and mind from the anxiety it causes. Give me wisdom to know how to resolve, manage or walk away from this worry. I come to you, my Lord, my Saviour, my comforter and my friend. I know you are with me. I am not alone, I need not fear. Amen.
Prayer of Someone in Trouble
O God, our help and assistance, who art just and merciful, and who hearest the supplications of Thy people, look down upon me, a miserable sinner; have mercy upon me, and deliver me from this trouble that besets me, for which, I know, I am deservedly suffering.
I acknowledge and believe, O Lord, that all trials of this life are given by Thee for our chastisement when we drift away from Thee and disobey Thy commandments.
Deal not with me after my sins, but according to Thy bountiful mercies, for I am the work of Thy hands, and Thou knowest my weakness.
Grant me, I beseech Thee, Thy divine helping grace, and endow me with patience and strength to endure my tribulations with complete submission to Thy will.
Thou knowest my misery and suffering, and to Thee, my only hope and refuge, I flee for relief and comfort, trusting to Thine infinite love and compassion that, in due time, when Thou knowest best, Thou wilt deliver me from this trouble and turn my distress into comfort, when I shall rejoice in Thy mercy and exalt and praise Thy holy name, O Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages.
Amen.
Prayer for Protection
O Lord, Thou who steadied the hand of Peter as he began to sink on the stormy sea, if Thou are with me, no one is against me.
Grant to me the shield of faith and the mighty armor of the Holy Spirit to protect me and guide me to do Thy will.
The future I put into Thy hands, O Lord, and I follow Thee to a life in Christ. Amen
Prayers for Oneself in Time of Need
Almighty God, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, come to my help and deliver me from this difficulty that besets me. I believe Lord, that all trials of life are under Your care and that all things work for the good of those who love You. Take away from me fear, anxiety and distress. Help me to face and endure my difficulty with faith, courage and wisdom.
Grant that this trial may bring me closer to You for You are my rock and refuge, my comfort and hope, my delight and joy. I trust in Your love and compassion. In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.
O God, our help in time of need, Who are just and merciful, and Who inclines to the supplications of His people. Look down upon me and have mercy on me and deliver me from the trouble that now besets me. Deal with us not according to our iniquities, but according to Your manifold mercies, for we are the works of Your hands, and You know our weaknesses. I pray to you to grant me Your divine helping grace, and endow me with patience and strength to endure my hardships with complete submission to Your Will. Only You know our misery and sufferings, and to You, our only hope and refuge, I flee for relief and comfort, trusting in Your infinite love and compassion, that in due time, when You know best, You will deliver me from this trouble, and turn my distress into comfort. We then shall rejoice in Your mercy, and exalt and praise Your Holy Name, O Father, Son and Holy Spirit, both now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen

On the third day Ynawc left them. Grudyen went next, and then Heilyn. Taliesin was the last to go, he the sweet singer, the wonder of western bards until the world's end. Pryderi tried hard to get him to go on to Dyved. "You can get the best hospitality in the world there," he urged. "You can sing with my mother's Birds, that some say can sing even sweeter than you, and you can talk wisdom with my kinsman, the old druid Pendaran Dyved." But Taliesin shook his head. "I have been with you long enough," he said, "and the deeds we shall do together are done. I would they were not, for you are both good company. But I must go where new deeds are shaping, for that is ever the law of Taliesin. You ride south into Dyved that men unborn shall call the Land of Illusion and Glamour, and I ride north, into the fierce sunlight of the future." Manawyddan looked at him straightly. "You mean that we are the past? Well, so it may be." Pryderi put his hands on his hips and hitched his sword around a little. "I do not feel past at all," said he. "I am still doing things, and I intend to do more." But Taliesin and Manawyddan did not heed him; they were looking deep into each other's eyes. The twilight was soft around them; under the trees dusk was settling, shadows that would soon ripen into darkness were already stretching forth long black arms. Only pink clouds still bloomed like flowers in the western sky. And for a breath's space the gay young King of Dyved felt as though he were touched by the fingertip of a great silence, of a finality that was also peace. Then the poet turned to him. "I go now to Gwynedd," said Taliesin. "I was there at the court of Don, before the birth of Gwydion. And now I would watch him grow." "Gwydion?" said Pryderi, pleased to understand something at last. "Is he not the little boy who is to be Mâth's heir?" In the dim light Taliesin looked at him long and sadly. "He is a little boy, but that is not all he is. Or all he has been. He has borne many names. But now he is ca'lled the son of Don, the sister of Mâth the Ancient, and in time to come you will think that you know that name too well. And later all the world will know him, for there is a universal forge, and our world is metal upon it, and he is the smith who will hammer our part of the world into a new shape. What bloody fools like Caswallon do may be undone, but not the work of wise men who work through the mind."

Return of The Great Khan
A rather old looking battleship emerged from the Maelstrom above Chogoris. Citizens of the chaos-torn planet and White Scars as well looked upon the ship with concern but also curiosity. As the hulking ship approached the planet, they could identify it as a battleship for the White Scars legion, even though it was ancient. Any attempts to contact those upon the ship were met with silence.
Jubal Khan, the current Great Khan of the White Scars pondered what to do with this information before asking if there were any identifying marks on the vessel. Once given, he ordered them to allow dropships to make landfall if any of them did.
One had begun to drop 3 hours later. White Scars gathered around the dropship, keeping themselves at the ready but quiet to see what would emerge. As the old door creeked open, the group was startled to hear the loud roar of an engine from within. The more veteran astartes recognized the sound as a Sojutsu Pattern Voidbike... but this one roared louder than any that they had heard before.
The group howled excitedly at the sound of what they knew to be a kinsman returned to them, though their sound stopped altogether as a massive jetbike carrying an equally massive woman launched out of the dropship. She howled enthusiastically as her ponytail whipped through the wind in a trail behind her.
Jaghatai Khan skidded to a halt just past her crowd of open-mouthed children before shouting to address them, "Truly the call of the hunt never ceases it's song, my great tribe!" She announced, "However, the call to hunt has brought me back to my White Scars!" With that sentence, the Khan raised her sword above her head and the astartes shouted back warcries in return.
"I know you all have not ceased the hunt!" There were cheers of agreement with her next words, "And I know you will not stop now that I have returned! Now let us do what we do best, as we always do, my kinsmen! Let us ride together our path of victory!" Loud, intense, and guttural chanting began at Jaghatai's words which shook the land around it. The people rejoiced for the Warhawk had truly returned. Although excited, and grinning wildly, the Khan did wonder about what sort of universe she had returned to, but she understood that she would find out soon enough. She did not realize the sort of disappointment that was waiting for her, however.

Random thought, but in an alternate universe where the Gefendur Aldish were rendered into minority status with Ssaelism as the more dominant religion in Alderode, what sort of laws would they push for? Harsher punishments for attempts to steal Ssaelit twins? Barring the sale of human body parts? Banning twin sacrifice outright? State-inspected pube trimmings for both genders?
We love our Ssaelit, but I have a feeling that if they obtained the power to eradicate them, they would never tolerate living beside the Gefendur. Duane tends to see the Aldish kinsman first, but that's not a universal sentiment.
Some of the disdain is pretty understandable, I think. Twin sacrifice is atrocious no matter how you spin it. But even if that was abolished these are not two belief systems that share a lot of common ground.

A Writeblr Re-Introduction
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Hey hi hello! My name is Sumayyah (or Mayyah). I was a writeblr back in 2020, but I decided to move to my own website...which I still run and love, however I miss the sense of community and readership that writeblr offered, so I’m back!
This blog will be a place for me to collect inspiration and writerly posts, engage with your works, and talk about my writing in a less formal/structured way than I would on my site. There will probably be some crossposting, because I thrive on engagement. On that note, I’m open to tag memes and ask memes etc!
My navigation page is here.
I also run Beyond What You See, a literary podcast, where I’ll be reading along and responding to The Lord of the Rings series by J. R. R. Tolkien. Currently it’s in the process of being re-recorded!
Before I get into sharing my works (below the cut), I just wanted to share that I offer editing/beta reading services, and you can see more about that here. Feel free to ask me questions about this or anything else, I love to chat!

✧ Legends of Mourra • [page] • [tag]
A Muslim-themed fantasy featuring a boy abducted by the djinn and the determined mother, lovelorn kinsman, gentle warrior, female Ranger, and scarred outcast hoping to rescue him.
» previously titled Chronicles of Mourra with a very different plot, I’ve been working on this universe and these characters since ~2007 or so. In May of 2022 I hit upon a new storyline which revatilized my interest in it. Currently it’s in the planning stage.
Tumblr media
✧ Oracle WIP • [page] • [tag]
A very loose retelling of Alice in Wonderland and its sequel, featuring an oracle who isn't, an assassin who decides against killing her mark, a usurper queen who was once a hero, and much betrayal.
» Partly a retelling, partly a portal fantasy/isekai, this work is going to be darker in content than anything I’ve written before, with characters that are all fairly unhinged and/or awful. I’m very excited for it! We have Ro, an assassin, Sage an oracle and a liar, and Alyss, a former chosen-one who became a villain. Currently it’s in the drafting stage.

fic title: Sir Ancelyn's Right Noble Grail Quest
Ancelyn from Battlefield goes looking for the Grail after the events of Battlefield.
If this is a prose story, it must be set in my Usenet-era everything's-one-universe continuity, so this leads him to indiana Jones who relates the events of Last Crusade. Malory says four knights survived Salisbury Plain and went East, Bedivere and three of Lancelot's kinsman, so it's 75% chance that the knight Indy met was one of Ancelyn's family*. Ancelyn enlists the Doctor to go rescue the knight from the cave-in at the end of the movie.
If it's a cartoon, Bambera has to explain to the Doctor that "right noble grail quest" is code for "tipping a few pints at boys' night at the pub"
* Have I ever mentioned I headcanon that Lancelot is pronunciation drift** for Ancelyn?
** I'm sure there's a real accepted word for this but I can't find it
send me a made-up fic title and i’ll tell you what i would write to go with it

Do you know any good cleric blog here on Tumblr, I can't find any, also what do you think about a paladin or cleric that deals with death? for example someone that preserve the natural order of death using "darker" powers for this, sorry for the double ask ^^
@wearecleric my kinsman might be able to help.
There is purpose to night that is eternal companion to, as death accompanies life. All have their time in the cycle. Just don't confuse good and evil and assume malefic purpose and power also have its own place in the great complexity and beauty of this universe. Good and evil are not two sides of the same coin. Remember that when exploring so called darker powers and their intent in the order of things.

Burlesque night in Nagothrond
Words: 1,7k
Warnings: CRACK, complete idiocy, nudity, sexual innuendo...you name it...it's awful (oh and yes, they're all related. For those not familiar with the silm)

With a muted thud, Maedhros let himself fall into the surprisingly comfortable chair.
“What is he up to this time?” his brother – come from afar and tired to the bone – asked quietly; after receiving the missive inviting him to a “special night in Nargothrond”, he had ridden post-haste to that enchanted city to see one of his favourite half-cousins.
Times had been hard and bleak, and he was eager to be distracted – if only for the span of a single night – from the terrible doom dogging their every step.
Maglor had been but mildly surprised to find both his other half-cousin, the universally beloved Findekáno – valiantly holding on to his brother’s hand – and his very own Nelyafinwë – ever the protector – in attendance as well.
What caused the esteemed scions of once noble houses – now somewhat fallen into disrepute – more worry was the company of quite a few dwarves and the nervous, breathless giggles coming from a throng of young ladies clad in their best frocks.
“Something shocking,” Fingon shrugged with one of those easy, melting smiles that won over hearts in a single instant, “as per usual.”
He seemed unfazed by the thrumming sense of impatient expectation in the room and Maglor had to bite down on a sharp repartee; it annoyed him how envious he felt whenever he witnessed the loyal and devoted calm on the other’s face in Maedhros’ presence.
A sudden storm of drums interrupted their whispered conversation abruptly and then, the low room was plunged into sudden darkness; they all flinched – the memory of the last darkening still etched into their hearts and souls – but relaxed when a single ray of light fell on a small dais some feet away from their seats.
Tumblr media
Finrod Felagund, king and marvel, stepped into the light as if he had been born to wear it, like a garment spun of dreams and hopes.
Smirking, he let his hands flow like pale rivers over the cascades of gemstones wrung around his slender throat and the layers of translucent, iridescent silk he’d shed in a few moments like a butterfly discarding its chrysalis.
“What in Eru’s name?”
Maglor chortled darkly at the choked cry from his brother, wondering if Maedhros was about to jump up and drag his half-cousin – oldest of his line and yet ever the younger kinsman to the firstborn grandson of Finwë – off the stage by his golden hair unceremoniously.
The drums had quieted now, beating insidiously in time with the captive hearts of the audience, while some stringed instrument whined to the longing sighs of a flute.
Ah, Makaulaurë Kanafinwë could and did applaud the ingenious use of music to entice the spellbound bodies into following the seductive rhythm slowly picking up its pace; his own pulse thundered in his throat like a winter storm, and he inhaled the warm air greedily in an attempt to pacify the prick of feral hunger setting his skin aflame.
And then, Finrod danced.
It was nothing like the courtly steps they had learned – in long, excruciating hours of study – in their youth though, this was indecently slow and sensual.
There was something breath-taking and scandalising at the same time in how deliberate those undulating, liquid movements were as their cousin – in a situation like this one, halves and quarters barely mattered anymore – picked up a fan and opened it with a sharp flick of those glittering wrists.
“He has ever been fond of his shiny baubles,” Fingon sniggered as if he was not wearing gold woven into his intricate braids by tender hands and as if he had not offered some of his father’s most prized possessions to his half-cousin in exchange for the crown Maedhros had so selflessly given up.
The boon the honourable Maitimo had eventually claimed as his reparation though had been much more malleable and warmer than any stone or metal could ever be, and everyone knew about it even though nobody wanted to speak the words out loud.
Individual gasps ran like the murmuring of the very ocean through the attending crowd; was it the sheer wealth of jewels twinkling and clinking on that flawless skin or the creature itself – feet moving elegantly and noiselessly to produce a mesmerising rolling motion that accentuated those sharp, inviting hips – that made them pant so?
“Oh,” someone sighed and Maglor’s eyes – hitherto settled in alarm and wariness on his brother – snapped back to the star of the show just in time to see the first layer of silk plummet to the ground like a sheet of multi-coloured snow, revealing shapely shoulders and collarbones so delicate they might have been sculpted by his own mother.
Finrod’s arms – strong in battle and welcoming in bed – waved through the air in a motion that should by all logic have looked ridiculous and – truth be told – turned out to be utterly hypnotising; everything about him was blindingly radiant: his wrists, his garments, his skin, and the wicked gleam in his eyes.
To the now outright playful tunes, he swung his hips in slow circles – every pair of eyes glued to his every movement, a lascivious smile adorning that fair face so many had lost themselves in.
The billowing slivers of fabric spun like wings around those tantalising hips as he kept rippling like a current of colour and light – blurring like a phantasmagoric vision before unblinking eyes – and leaning back seductively until his back formed a beautifully inviting marble arc in the ambient chiaroscuro.
“You should dance for me like that,” Fingon whispered into Maedhros’ ear, which made the tall redhead snort under his breath.
“I do not think so, dearest Finno,” he replied with a warm smile, “I’d look like a scarecrow come to life. I do not have our dear Ingo’s…poise.”
“You could learn,” Fingon insisted eagerly, “I’d worship you, you know?”
The throaty quality of his lover’s tone gave Maedhros pause and – for a second – he truly considered asking Finrod for pointers; it would not have been the first time that they’d exchanged illicit and unsavoury tips and tricks amongst kinsmen.
When they returned their attention to their gracious host though, another swath of nothing had been shed and the fan was back in action, stirring the remaining silk into a dance of its own while granting mere glimpses of skin and sparkling gems to the rapt audience in-between fluid but quick flicks of those flexible wrists.
“This is indecent,” Maedhros ground out, but both Maglor and Fingon wondered if the cause for the furious blush spreading up his throat was entirely due to his blusterous indignation.
With a mirthful chuckle, the king of these hallowed halls started toying with the emerald broach that served as a clasp, holding together that wicked last bastion of decorum, before pulling it out at a torturously slow pace without ever interrupting the languid twisting and twirling of the rest of his body.
It seemed – for a moment – as if Finrod had grown a thousand limbs that all oscillated invitingly and hence, the beauty he wrought washed in waves – set in motion inexorably by his sensuous dancing – over the drowning onlookers.
“Damn that fan,” Maglor cursed as it fluttered like a living creature over the exquisite and shockingly naked flesh of the king while he – still smiling most wickedly – rolled his shoulders and hips to the crooning of the pervasive instruments.
There was a magic in his blood that nobody had ever doubted but to see it exhibited thus – a spell, a curse, an enchantment wrought like iron around the captive spectators – still knocked the breath out of his three friends.
A crescendo of sound and motion – a flurry of skin and gems – and then…silence.
Finrod bowed deeply, the accursed fan coyly covering his most intimate secrets and the piercings the dwarves had granted him as a sign of their friendship catching the light like twin flames, and turned to where they sat in the shadows with a broad, playful grin.
Tumblr media
“Well…” Aegnor looked at his brother in bewilderment.
“Well,” Angrod echoed in the same hollow, shocked tone; they had been so looking forward to seeing their oldest brother again but this display of power – pure, primaeval, raw energy – had taken them quite by surprise.
“Oh, look,” Aegnor sniggered, jabbing his elbow into his brother’s ribs, “it’s Nelyo, Káno, and Finno. I wonder how they’ve enjoyed our esteemed sibling’s show.”
“I do not care to know!” Before the words had breached Angrod’s lips though, the young warrior had shot out of his seat to harass his older kinsmen; if there was discomfort or even shame to be endured, it was – as all things were – a burden best shared with family members.
Angrod – hastening after his overly enthusiastic brother – joined them just in time to catch the other Finwëans’ stammered praise; Nerdanel’s offspring always had suffered from the charming disadvantage of blushing treacherously but even Findekáno seemed considerably flustered by what he had just witnessed.
“It was very…interesting,” Maedhros said, his words chewed to pieces by how tense his jaw was clenched around sensations and emotions neither one of Finrod’s brothers cared to investigate.
“He’s done really great with the arrangement, I’ve quite enjoyed the music,” Maglor tried his best to sound debonair and casual, but they had all known each other for too long for socially acceptable hypocrisy and white lies to be indulged without comment.
Angrod doubted that Káno had paid any attention to the – honestly rather mediocre – melodies and he certainly did not hesitate to express that opinion, much to the chagrin of a now beautifully pouting Maglor; he had ever been one of Findaráto’s favourites – that much was common knowledge – and Angrod decided that it might be time for his still somewhat decent brother and him to make a dignified exit.
“I bid you good night, dearest cousins,” Aegnor grinned, “we are sure to meet our beloved brother in the morning when he’s no longer sore from his performance.”
Judging by the feral look in the eyes – flashing dangerously in the low lights that had come on again – of those three fearsome Noldor though, they suspected that the brazen dancer might well find himself tender from other activities come morning light.
Tumblr media
Am I the worst? Yes, cannot deny...Did post something not reread or edited...and it's as dumb as it can get...
Nonetheless, if it made you snigger at least once, I would be so happy if you could let me know...
Special thanks to @cuarthol again for demanding his brothers have some fun and for the beautiful drawing ❤️

This much-loved verse of Scripture outlines the
glorious gospel of grace clearly and simply.
It tells that Christ died a sacrificial death on the
Cross to pay the price for our sin and break its power
in our lives. It tells that Jesus was sent as an expression
of the indescribable love of God for us,
John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son
so that whosoever believes in Him will not
perish but have eternal life."
This astonishing truth was told to Nicodemus by Jesus,
as He unfolded heavenly truths to this secretive,
synagogue leader. He explained the kingdom
of heaven was only open to those born of the Spirit,
who look in faith to Christ - their Kinsman-Redeemer.
He explained that when Moses lifted up a brass
serpent on a pole in the wilderness to heal all who
believed; it was a type of Himself -
the Son of Man Who would also be lifted up as
the sacrifice for sin - and that ALL who believe
on Him would be healed, declared righteous,
and live eternally.
God hates sin, and God hates this evil, corrupted,
Satanic world-system,
which is blinding the perishing to the glorious gospel
of grace and leading many more into a lost eternity.
But sin must be punished because God is righteous,
and the wages of sin is death. Every member of the
human race is a sinner who has fallen short of God's
glory, so all are deserving of death -
eternal separation from God.
It was God Who purposed that the only way man's death
sentence could be reversed was if a perfect, sinless
Man was willing to pay the price for sin. But no man
was good enough for all are sinners. And so out of love for us,
God gave His only begotten Son as the sacrifice for sin and to
take the punishment that WE deserve, "so that all who believe
in Him will not perish but have eternal life."
The full force of God’s wrath had to be poured out on a
sinless member of the human race if the price of sin
was to be paid, and God determined before the foundation
of the world, that the eternal Son of God would become
the sinless Son of Man. He would be born into
His own creation and willingly pay the price for the sin
of the world through His substitutionary death.
It was out of love for His creation that God gave His only Son..
. out of love for fallen humanity who were made in His image..
. yet who sinned against their Creator God, causing an
unbridgeable gulf to be erected between man and his Maker.
But in His goodness, grace, mercy, and love, He gave His
beloved Son to live a perfect life and die a sacrificial death -
so that all who believe in Him will not be condemned,
but live eternally.
The enormity of God's sacrificial love should
never be underestimated. The entire world was
condemned to divine judgement because man sinned.
God loves sinners with a passion, but cannot look in sin -
and so He Who knows the end from the beginning,
predetermined in eternity past to redeem His fallen
race by providing a substitute for sin - a perfect Man
Who would pay the price of sin and receive the
punishment that WE deserve... so that WHOSOEVER
believes on Him would not perish but have eternal life.
The forgiveness of sin, life everlasting,
and the gates of heaven itself are flung
open wide to whosoever will believe on the
Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.
There is no need for even one member
of the human race to perish, for God’s invitation
for salvation is open to ALL. The only condition
to receive His free gift of salvation is to believe
on the Lord Jesus Christ - and you will be saved.
The eternal Son of God set aside His glory
and was born into the fallen race of man,
to die on Calvary for your sin and mine.
If you were to travel to the furthest reaches
of the universe, or go back to the beginning of time,
there you'll find love ... for "God is love" ....
the most precious thing in the universe is
know the reality of His love - by faith.
My Prayer
Thank You, Lord, for sending Jesus to die for our sin.
Thank You that His blood has paid the full penalty
for my sin and that the power of sin in my life has
been broken through Him. Thank You that
Christ's sacrifice reveals Your immense love for mankind -
and for me. I just want to give You thanks and praise for
this free gift of salvation that is open to whosoever will
come. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
