Mechanical keyboard. Red switches. Ergonomic to reduce muscle strain because he will not suffer injury needlessly. Wired for guaranteed feedback. Basic white lighting so he can see the keys in the dark. Keys are customized for his personal needs and shortcuts. Hell he probably doesn't really need to look at the keys he has that shit memorized both in mind and muscle memory.

so my cute cheap minty green knock-off keyboard for work i got from amazon stopped working (i know i know shock horror right?) so i caved and bought the real actual logitech keyboard the knock-off was trying to replace and it is SO NICE. it's an actual mechanical keyboard with perfectly clickity-clackity keys (almost too clickity clackity, i'm worried it's obnoxious lmao) and the color is still really pretty, a nice muted matte mint/white/yellow/lavender combo, and the mouse is matte too instead of shiny and it feels a lot better to handle

but i'm also incredibly fucking bitter that i wasted money on the cheap knock-off instead of just splurging on the nicer keyboard in the first place. meh.

oh well, it looks cute!!!

it is so incredibly irritating that in the year of our lord 2023 microsoft still doesn't provide native way to toggle windows key functionality

u have group policy edits which require a restart, or editing ur registry (which can be dicey and also requires a restart).

then there's third party software but that either also edits your registry, or entails something like autohotkey, which some online games consider cheating software and may even take steps to try to detect if it's running on your system lmao.

let’s play good news/bad news (inconsequential edition)

bad news: i dropped a glass of water on my keyboard

good news, since it’s a usb keyboard my laptop’s fine, and i’m good at opening things up and puzzling them back closed

bad news, once i dried the more fragile components and did a cursory wipe down or the keys, i pried off one of them and it was Absolutely Disgusting under there

neutral news, i took them all off, dunked the casing and keys in disinfectant, and rinsed it out with water, dried everything, put it back together, dried it some more, finished putting it back together

good news: i’m writing this with said keyboard!

Need some advice...

So I bought a new keyboard - the Logitech G815 - and noticed a bit to late it had the French layout, instead of the Belgian one. Not really a problem since it's only a few buttons that are different (and the buttons don't really have influence on what I type anyway) , but I rather replace them so it's the layout I'm used to, otherwise it'll just bother me.

I have found some complete and compatible sets on Amazon and such, but ...I don't know, I've always been a bit reluctant to buy stuff that need to be shipper from outside the EU, call me overly cautious or (more likely) paranoid.

Anyone got some experience with that? Or know sites (within the EU, most preferably) that sell RGB keycaps compatible with the Logitech G815?
