And they were roommates
After years of living on his own in the Infinite Realms, something strange began to happen to the retired hero. Every time Danny closed his eyes to sleep, a life that was not his own played in his head. And he began to see memories of someone who had passed away, from his birth to his death. That would be fine if he didn't remember the dreams in such detail.
Unfortunately when the first dream kept repeating itself continuously, and Danny investigated, he discovered that it was not a normal nightmare and was the life of someone real. Someone who wanted a closure.
Every time he woke up, he found himself feeling the same as in the dream. Which led him to do a couple of things: yell at Nocturne (who strangely had nothing to do with it), annoy Clockwork (who was definitely involved), and solve crimes that had been deemed "impossible", and bring them to an appropriate end.
The police were extremely confused when a note from "Sleepy King" was next to the evidence of a cold case. The truth is that Danny wanted to sleep, and the souls were extremely insistent about their 'unfinished business' that came to haunt him in his sleep.
Every time he cracked a case he earned a few hours of uninterrupted sleep or downright disturbing memories, but that wasn't enough. Unfortunately, it seemed that solving the cases was only attracting more souls, and he was starting to regret wanting to help. He had ended his life as a hero for a reason.
Usually his notes to the police would say something along the lines of "I'm doing this for me, not for you, good night" or some similar nonsense. The halfa was tired, very very tired, dreaming with memories wasn't fun or pretty, it was exhausting, the deaths made his skin crawl and his insomnia worse. He didn't want to relive the deaths of anyone else, but he had no way to scare away the souls.
When Martha Wayne showed up in his dreams showing him about a "court of owls" Danny made up his mind. This had to stop. He had been a hero but he retired. And it wasn't that he hated the souls, he just wanted to sleep, the mental exhaustion was too much.
So he did the stupidest thing possible: he hired Constantine (pretending to be a fairly normal human client, getting his attention after offering a lot of alcohol and some useless books from the Realms as payment) to make him a dream catcher or some wizard thing. All he wanted was something to help him sleep.
Constantine couldn't do that of course. The hellbazer was disturbed by the man with more than three hundred avenging spirits swarming. That was fucked up. So he offered him the only solution he could think of: inviting him to sleep at his house. A place where spirits could not pass without permission. It wasn't a permanent fix, but it would work for a while.
John had no idea why he was doing so much for a client (inviting him to his house? bold move), but the man looked so desperate, and he was fucking cute. If he could get an adventure or two out of it he wouldn't complain.
Constantine's guest bed felt like heaven to the halfa, despite being almost destroyed. Danny repeatedly thanked, and before they both knew it: they were roomies, lived in the same place, took turns cooking or cleaning, etc. They grew comfortable with each other to the point that Danny answered Justice League Dark's calls on a few occasions.
And well, if Constantine stopped rushing to find a long-term solution that was his business, and his alone, okay? Zatanna's comment asking when he got married was fucking out of place.

Denial Only Gets You So Far
DannyMay Day 5 - Doorway
tw: negative self talk, implied death, brief mentions of blood, injury, and body horror
Summary: Danny returns to Fenton Works, doorways are stupid, and good parents are hard to come by.
(sequel to What Could Have Been & 2nd part of the Not Your Son series)
Ao3 link
~
Just walk in, he thought as anxiety swam in his gut, it’s just a doorway.
Nearly three hours ago, he probably could’ve walked through no problem. An easy action when all it meant was coming over to study with Jazz or leaving to go home to Vlad’s mansion. The small uncomfortable nudge from his core was not helping the matter.
“C’mon Danno, let’s head in;” his dad said as he locked the car. “The others should be coming around in a few minutes and I’m sure you want to get changed before they get here.” Danny’s eyes trailed down to the blood smudged on the cuff of his sleeve, lingering for a few moments before moving back up to stare at the open door.
Fifteen minutes.
It had been fifteen minutes since the ring’s control had been broken, since he gave the ultimatum, since he was Vlad’s son.
So why couldn’t he enter the building? It was his house. He was on the last step. All he had to do was put one foot forward. One foot and he could crash on the couch, put the day behind him.
(He could deny all of what’s happened, could think it was all some elaborate scheme by Nocturn or maybe that someone else had gotten that ring, forcing him to experience a weird dream (nightmare, nightmare, it was a nightmare) so he’d be too caught up in figuring it out to be able to break free. If he walked through the shielded building filled with anti-ghost weaponry in the walls though, his fragile excuses would crumble to dust.
He wasn’t ready for that.
All he wanted to do was turn around and hop right back in the RV, ignore the world for a little while longer and wait until the real Vlad showed up. The vicious, lying, and manipulative one that constantly mocked his intelligence and hated his jokes. The one that had no problem beating teenage half-ghosts into a pulp. The one he hated so much he got the government’s incompetent ghost hunting division to blow up his stupid cheese castle in Wisconsin.
It was just a short hop, jump, skip to the car; he could put the doorway behind him and indulge in this one harmless little temptation, couldn’t he? Let himself live in denial until the crazed up Fruitloop appeared with his latest murder plot?)
His dad put his hands on his shoulders, shoving him through the daunting doorway and making the decision for him.
---
The couch held him close as he was bombarded by worried family and friends and ...Valerie?
(“You’re out of your mind if you think only Jazz and your friends noticed your new chummy-chummy attitude with Vlad, moron,” she said, punching his arm lightly, a smile on her face.)
Even Elle was around, crushing him in a hug and refusing to let go the entire time they all talked.
He learned Sam and Tucker confronted Vlad on a Monday, three days after the dance and the day before a big science project was due. The three had walked to Vlad’s mansion to work on it, Sam and Tucker joking and asking what Danny managed to do to blackmail the guy this time.
“What? Why would I blackmail my dad?” Danny asked, confused as he reached through the door to turn the lock. He groaned in annoyance. Did he try to sell you stock in his company or something? Because if he did, I’m gonna set up buckets of gravy and feathers in his room and you guys are welcome to join.”
They turned down the offer, worried, and made up some excuse to wander the large mahogany wood halls alone. Tucker needing to rub prescription cream on a ‘super embarrassing back rash’ that he can’t reach and only Sam’s seen before garnered sympathy and a grimace from Danny and he left them to it. (He remembered how indignant Tucker looked while Sam said that. He remembered wondering why his friend looked so badly like he wanted to deny it. It made sense now.)
Vlad was listening in just around the corner.
Apparently his friends tried threatening, cursing, and actually fighting him at some point, all without the younger halfa hearing a damn thing. Sam was particularly miffed recounting the event.
“No matter what you say or do, Daniel’s secret will still be at risk should you expose me and- Charcoal biscuits! Did you just try to bite me?!” He turned to Tucker with a fearful look. “Is this one feral?!”
In the end, nothing changed. Danny still went to school, still went out on patrols, still hung out with his friends, and still acted, overall, normal.
Then he learned that when Jazz got back from her weekend getaway she nearly stormed the place, armed with the Fenton Peeler and only stopped by his friends physically holding her back. The image brought a smile to his weary face.
Next, his parents were going to explain why they didn’t look for him, but he shook his head; even with different parents, he still thought of Jazz as sister to him since the ring only tweaked his memories a bit. He still spent a lot of time in Fenton Works, studying with her a few days a week after school and staying late at night for other things, so it made sense they didn’t notice. And in those three weeks, his sister was always inviting him to hang out or sleepover, Sam and Tuck too, but the constantly unlocked Fenton Portal was what really kept him coming back almost everyday.
(“What kind of idiots don’t lock their own Zone portal?!” he complained, pacing the air in the center of the library. “I mean, what, did they think the ghosts would knock? Float into their lab with a smile and a fucking plate of cookies?” Vlad resisted the urge to snort.
“Language, Danny.”)
All that time spent in Fenton Works, his parents’ usual lack of perception, and the mysterious destruction of their more dangerous weaponry every weekend completely explained why they didn’t notice their only son not living with them for almost a month.
Yup, everything checks out.
---
Over time, Danny learned to readjust to his new normal. He held off on casually using his powers for a while and just focused on helping his parents understand him better and how he became the way he is.
A hero. A half-ghost. A boy with more intimate knowledge about ghosts than either of them combined. He even told them about the importance of his name, Phantom, and what it meant to him.
His parents listened intently and were eager to look over their old research papers with him, but, at Jazz’s insistence, they decided to hold off for a while until Danny felt back to normal. As the boy tried adjusting to living with his family again, however, time started to become more and more of a blur as the days passed.
He thinks at some point, his friends apologized to him. Said they wouldn't have outed him and continued looking for a solution on their own if he hadn’t gone radio silent one weekend. He sheepishly admitted he broke his phone in his Vlad’s training room while testing the durability of his new handmade Phantom sweater; a gift from Vlad made of a thick black fabric with white and green detailing and able withstand ghost rays, electric shocks, and extremely cold temperatures no problem.
(it’s the best piece of clothing he’s ever had)
(he shoved it in the trash the first chance he got)
He wished they ignored it was thankful he was so forgetful, otherwise he might’ve been stuck being all gross and friendly with Vlad for who knows how long.
(they would’ve left well enough alone if you weren’t so stupid, a voice hissed, you could’ve avoided this; could’ve stayed blissfully ignorant in your own little world while everyone else moved on with their lives, as they should, but no, of course you had to ruin it with your stupid little damsel-in-distress routine. Some ‘hero’ you are.)
He stared blankly into his bedroom.
It’s just a doorway, he thought again, just a stupid fucking doorway.
There was a non-existent film in the space between the hall and his room. A thin, staticky little thing that prickled Danny’s skin when he got too close. It leered at him, poking at him and saying to leave, to fly away and never come back.
No one wants you here, it sneered, your parents didn’t even notice you were gone, didn’t even care until the famous ghost menace was involved. Why would now be any different?
He stayed silent, keeping his unblinking eyes trained on the perfectly made up bed sheets.
“Whoops! Sorry there, Danno, forgot to turn off the Mini-Fenton Ghost Shields around your room,” his dad said, popping out of nowhere and making the boy jump. He knocked against the wall in a specific pattern and Danny could hear the sounds of humming machinery powering down. “There we go. Have a goodnight, son!” his dad said, waving as he returned to his own room.
The film was still there, mocking him.
Danny tore his eyes away and leaned against the railing. Maybe he could try again tomorrow night. Yeah, it’s not a big deal—he’ll just stay up to get ahead on homework. It’s not like anyone actually died from a lack of sleep.
He eyed the couch.
---
Fire. Lots of fire. An explosion, one big enough to send him flying through the air, nearly knocking him out as he landed on asphalt. There was a small group of people nearby, phones out and recording. One was smart enough to call the fire department. Good.
Surveying the area, it seemed no one was too badly burned. None of the larger debris seemed to go past the empty parking lot and despite the tipped over oil tanker, no one looked physically hurt either. Relieved, he set his head down on the pavement and breathed deeply. Even though he was exhausted and in a lot of pain, at least no one got hurt.
The sound of something small falling to the scorched pavement caught his attention.
A watch. Dad’s watch, he thought to himself numbly. The sky was clear of ghosts and his ghost sense wasn’t going off so-
Slowly, Danny lifted his head to look directly into the flames.
Vlad’s burning body was laying atop a large piece of debris, metal rods and shards of glass littering his bloody back. His melting face stared at the boy and despite the smoke partially blocking his vision, the halfa could make out an apologetic look forever etched into it.
Danny woke up screaming.
“Danny?! Danny, what’s wrong?!” Vlad burst into the room partway through a transformation. Locking eyes with the crying child he let his rings revert him back to human. The boy furiously wiped at his eyes and turned around, pulling the blanket over his head and sniffling quietly.
“Nothing,” he said, voice muffled. “You don’t have to strap me to some crazy machine or anything.” Silence answered him, but there were no sounds of retreating footsteps, to Danny’s dismay. He ventured a glance over his shoulder.
Vlad had a myriad of expressions cross his face before he took a deep breath and moved to sit on the floor beside the bed. He spoke in an even tone.
“Strapping a child to a dangerous machine is not something I make a habit of doing.” Danny scoffed, resting his head back on the pillow and missing the man’s stiffening posture.
“I know that, but...”—he frowned—“I dunno, ‘seems like something parents would do.”
“I assure you, little badger, that is not something parents do.”
Again silence answered him, but it was more comfortable this time, the empty void filling with an understanding that it was late and nothing more needed to be said. And while the boy didn’t turn back, he knew the older halfa stayed by his side, long after he fell asleep.
(Which, duh, of course he knew. How could he miss the huge puddle of drool on the edge of his sheets? Danny griped at him for it the next morning; it was his turn to do laundry and the load was gonna be light and easy before this. Vlad offered to do it for him, but Danny denied it with a dramatic sigh, citing that he didn’t want his sheets to catch fire.
Vlad sputtered excuses and denials and an “It was only one time!”, missing the teasing smile Danny was sporting. Honestly, 42 years and the man still had no clue how to work the dryer, he chuckled to himself.)
---
There’s one thing Danny couldn’t deny as he clung to the memory, drenched in sweat and digging the balls of his hands into his eyes.
He missed Vlad.

-.-.-.-
Danny was numb… numb to everything.
He could feel his friends hugging him tightly, and his father and whoever else clung to him at any given moment to offer him comfort, but it did little. He had never realized you could hurt so much you could become this numb… Emotionally, that is to say
He felt tired too, but not physically... Purely emotionally tired. He was tired of having people ask him how he was holding up, and how he was doing, how they could help him. He didn’t know how to help himself so how could they?
He remembers food, he remembers the days like they were a blur leading up to the funeral. He was just… aware but not there. His mother was cremated, and the urn chosen was one of a pretty polished blue and black stone. Not that it mattered… he was too busy staring blankly at the picture of his mother that was sitting in front of the infernal holder.
His mother smiling so brightly and carefree in the picture, taken from their last extrusion to the celestial observatory, his mother who stood at a decent height, condensed into a tiny stone container the size of his head…. He could hardly fathom it…
He hardly heard the words his father said and couldn’t understand the ones his sister had tried to get out, her tears blocking her voice from truly projecting itself, despite there being a microphone there.
Then it was Danny’s turn to speak. Normally public speaking would give him butterflies in his stomach, which at this point would be a welcome change to the numbness settled in his chest… but alas it was not to be. He had his speech printed out, and he read it flatly. When he was done he left the podium and didn’t even feel it when he tripped down the small three stair height difference and face planted on the hardwood floor.
He simply pushed himself up and continued on. That seemed to be all he ever did nowadays…
His one major saving grace was there were only a few ghost attacks that had happened, and the ones that did were simple minded animal ghosts that had no semblance of true intelligence. He was thankful for that… he could comfortably leave those to the Red Huntress and take some time for himself to just… well… be numb.
Danny watched blankly ahead as a few more people went up and said their piece, before the pastor, priest, daikon? Whatever the guy was, came up to say his closing statements. Then he rose, wordlessly and grabbed his part of the case, a ghost as a pallbearer would be ironic, funny even if he wasn’t numb.
They didn’t have to walk far, the funeral home that they were in for the service, had the cemetery just in the back. There was an odd sense of finality when they put the urn into place in the wall. A vase to the side of the plaque was practically overflowing with fresh flowers.
Another odd feeling came when they hung the plack in place. Maddie Fenton with her birth year and death year subscribed in bronze forevermore, while Jack Fenton, was beside it, birth year in place but the death year left open like some sort of taunting reminder to the man’s own mortality.
Jack sighed, running his hand across the plaque seemingly having a similar thought to his son as he didn’t stop at just Maddie’s name, tracing over his own.
“We should go. The wake is starting…” Jazz’s soft voice seemed to startle Jack from whatever thoughts had been running in his head. Still, he nodded and off they went.
Danny seemed to blink and he was there, Sam and Tucker once again glued to his sides as Danny stared blankly at the TV that showed pictures of his mother on loop. Nothing felt real. This was like a horrible dream worse than anything Nocturne could conjure up.
But it was real. Too real.
Jazz had been trying, she really had, but with Danny and Jack both having had seen the grizzly seen, the blood the-- the… Danny shook his head. It was too much to process…
It was something straight out of a movie, but the scent will be something that he knows will haunt him longer than anything else…
Danny blinked again and a sandwich was in his hand. Egg maybe? It didn’t matter, he wasn’t hungry, and besides, he didn’t really need to in here. The grief and sorrow were practically supercharging his ghost side. That would keep his human half satiated too.
The next time Danny blinked he found himself in a car, someone he wasn’t related to, or maybe he was, he couldn’t remember and frankly didn’t care to. As another blink sent him home where he and his father were curled up on the couch together. They were both sitting and staring blankly ahead at the TV which had been off for a while now, Jack’s arm around his son in a rather weak side hug, well for Jack anyway.
Danny was just thankful for the contact, the sort of normalcy and grounding the gesture brought. The other thing he was thankful for was that Vlad hadn’t tried to weasel his way into the funeral home, for, well, any of it.
It was refreshing actually. Though it also made him suspicious.
He also hadn’t really gotten too much time to talk with his father about the revelation either, and what that meant moving forward, and Danny, of course, didn’t want to push the man about it, but now the funeral was over those thoughts returned full force. At least his Dad was still here with him, that was something. Right?
 Still …
“Dad… I’m…. I’m sorry.” Danny said after a moment of silence.
“I know… but you shouldn’t have to be. It’s not your fault and none of this should have ever been on you….” Came Jack’s sombre response. “If anyone’s to blame it’s that Wisconsin ghost… he’s been plaguing this family ever since we went to that family reunion in Wisconsin... “ Jack shook his head.
“I still should have… should have told you sooner… and mom too...” Danny argued back weakly, flicking his reddened eyes to his father. When had he started crying again?
“It doesn’t matter now… I … that didn’t come out right…” Jack sighed rubbing the back of his neck nervously.  “I mean I know now so you shouldn’t have to worry over the what if’s son…”
“Still…”  Danny started but was cut off as his father turned to him and hugged him tightly, pressing the air out of him.
Jack had a few tears that flowed free from his eyes himself, though he refused to let go even as he could feel his boys snot building on the back of his jumpsuit.  “You really can’t change the past, and even if you could, you shouldn’t… this isn’t something that we like, but it’s how it should be I think... It’s just something we need to get through right?”
Danny sighed, he got that message loud and clear, thanks, Clockwork…  “Yeah…” he responded despite the inner turmoil he was facing.
The numbness continued for the week, falling in line with his routine. Even when ‘Phantom’ once again started reappearing in public, people commented on his lack of glow, though he had regained some of his lustre from the day his mother was killed, taken from him, cut down in her prime, he looked nothing like he usually did.
When Val, or rather The Red Huntress, confronted him about his duller look. Danny had tried to avoid her, had told her he didn’t want to talk about it, but she wouldn’t take no for an answer, shooting and attacking him as she normally does… Only this time, for Danny at least, it was different…
He had only wanted to fire a small blast, enough to take down her board’s engine and make her lose control of her speed and have to land… what he got was a large emotionally charged blast that obliterated her board. Danny stared at his hand a moment before snapping into action catching Valerie at the last second and turning them intangible.
When they were safely on the ground he’d uttered a quiet ‘sorry’ before going invisible and flying off, leaving a bewildered and angry huntress in his wake. The ghost was clearly getting more powerful… buy why. She’d remembered it starting right around Maddie Fenton’s death but… that couldn’t possibly be related…
She vowed to track him down again and shoot the answers out of him… as soon as she gets a new board that is…
The routine continued like this for a while for Danny… he was numbly floating on some days and hardly there on others.  He would get up, eat, and go to school. Come home stare blankly at his off computer screen before going on a lacklustre patrol before dinner. He would patrol again before bed then sleep. Rinse, repeat.
After about two weeks he started to see things in his father again, how he would smile at Jazz when she came home with a perfect score, or how he would excitedly eat fudge, even how the large man started to regain some of his normal volume.
That it turn helped Danny regain some sense of normalcy to allow himself the illusion that everything was fine. That if he just went down the hall at night he would see his parents cuddle up together in their bed, of id he went down to the lab after school his mother would be there,
 Yet it never was…
Danny had the sad realization, once his father started bouncing back to a bit of his normal personality, that was, that he didn’t notice as much of his mother’s lack of presence now…
It hit him like a ton of bricks.
His mother was always in the lab or working on some kooky invention or another, and when he did see her it was at the dinner table. Even then sometimes there were days often more than not, where she would opt to work through the family dinner time. Jack had always come up with the mention of food.
It was the main thing Danny had always wanted more of as a family… normal dinners. One’s where they just ate stuff and talked about how school was and not how they planned on dissecting ‘Phantom’ much like his father had started doing now… and all without his mom…
Jazz had helped pick up the extra chores to make it easier on Jack, and Danny had already started to do his own laundry before this… Meals had been rotated from person to person now… a schedule that his mother wasn’t on but worked without… the floors were still swept and vacuumed and the furniture was still dusted.
Jack hadn’t been in the lab as much either stating that it just wasn’t the same without her and it was too raw a nerve for him at the moment… but still, without his mom, he saw so much more of his father…
He hated that normalcy now… that sense that things were alright when everything felt so foreign, yet so… so… he didn’t know what to think really and that was the problem. He just didn’t understand this overly complex mix of emotion or the fact that he could enjoy this house without his mother in it.
It just felt wrong to do so…
Was it wrong? Or was that just him being a screw up again?
It was some time, almost a month later he’d found out Vlad had taken pity on him and made sure that the ghosts would leave Amity alone when Skulker showed up for the first time in a while. Surprisingly the hunting ghost paused his attack and backed off fairly quickly after Danny had exploded on him.
Both figuratively and literally, if the smouldering hole in the pavement from his halfhearted ghostly wail about his mother’s passing had anything to say about it. Skulker seemed to become contemplative a moment before disappearing back to wherever he’d come from.
And Danny simply continued on his way back to class, trying to calm his shaking hands and aching heart. Not to mention he had to try to make it back before Valerie was able to get out here herself and after him…
It was later that night though when something changed, something felt off, he just didn’t know what it was at first… Though when his ghost sense went off, stronger than it had been the last little bit, and he sensed two decently powerful ghosts, he knew he had to head out, despite his father's asking that he stay in the house once it was past midnight.
He heard the fight before he’d seen it, thought the smoke that billowed up from downtown was a good indicator of where he was headed. He zipped off towards the city’s core and instantly had to flick into intangibility as Skulker was thrown at him.
Danny blinked and frowned watching the robotic hunter spark and twitch felled on the ground, before looking up to his new opponent. His hands that were awash with energy fizzled out in an instant as he stared open mouthed to the new ghost before him.
They were female in form the hips and chest made that obvious. Her hair was icy blue and moved in an invisible wind and like smoke, it disappeared when it moved too far away from the source. Her eyes were a bright golden colour with iris only a shade or two darker and what would be the whites of her eyes only a shade or two brighter, making her eyes appear to be wholly that colour of gold.
Her clothing was made up of mostly reds, whites and blacks in a tight form fitting suit that looked more like something a fighter pilot would wear, rather than a rubbery spandex that Danny would have been expecting.
The white pouch that hung at her hip bobbed a bit as she turned her narrowed and angered luminescent eyes to Danny’s current green ones. But Danny couldn’t move he was frozen to the spot, Though the skin had a touch too much green and looked all too smooth like that of a doll, there was no mistaking it…
 “M-Mom?” he had whispered out.
The woman screwed up her face and blinked at the ghost before her. Something sparking in the back of her mind but it was muted… did she know him before maybe? “Mom? I don’t know? Am I?”
Danny was awestruck yet still too rooted to the spot in the air to move his mouth agape as he stared at her confused posture, a slender finger poking at her lip as she bit the corner, screwing up her face in thought and strain.
Before Danny could speak he was snapped out of his thoughts by a loud. “Whelp!”
Danny spun instantly, hands reigniting their fire as he snarled at Skulker, core flaring in the need to protect his mother’s ghost. His aura burned brighter than it had for almost a month, and yet, Skulker simply raised his sparking and twitching hands in a placating gesture.
“I’ve brought you a gift Whelp. One Plasmius would have undoubtedly had me deliver to him,” Skulker said simply, causing the heat on Danny’s gaze to increase. Again Skulker waved his hand in a pointless gesture to soothe him. “I have not clearly. You have become weak without this one in your afterlife, so I brought her here so that I may hunt you again soon... you are of little challenge to me as you are now, whelp and I will not lose my title of Ghost Zone’s greatest hunter because I took out a prey in an unfair game.“
Danny blinked a few times as his rage died down. He did something nice? Granted it seemed it was for a selfish reason but still… He had his mother back… Sort of.
“If that’s all you came here for then leave” Danny ordered butting every ounce of his anger behind the command.
Skulker huffed but nodded turning away. “Until next time, whelp,” he said with a small smirk before fading from the visual spectrum.
Danny turned back to his mother and offered a small smile, watching as she too extinguished the yellow-green glow in her hands. She seemed to size him up for a moment before adopting a more casual stance in the air, while Danny was once again struck with awe.
“What do you call yourself then?” She’d asked after a moment, her eyes had roamed his form and still, the spark was there, she felt… something and she had to know.
“Phantom… Danny Phantom, I… Mom I’m so happy to see you” Danny couldn’t help himself. He flew top speed into the woman and clung to her chest like he was just a small child, tears flowing freely. Tears of joy this time, Tears of relief.
“Mom,” She mused. Her body was stiff at first when the other had ‘attacked’ her but she quickly realized this was something else. Following an instinct that guided her, she reached up and swam her fingers through the boy's ivory locks. It seemed to trigger something in the boy as he squeezed her tighter, and nodded his head into her shoulder.
“I’ve been calling myself Vexera, is that close to who I was… Before?” The ghostly woman asked after a moment.
“N-No… I don’t think so…. Your name was Mandoline officially, but you preferred Maddie, and well Dad called you Mads.” Danny explained.
She hummed to herself in thought, a low melodic sound. “Mad… Vex I think I see the connection,” she chuckled brightly. “Then if it’s true, you’re my son?”
“Yeah, Yeah! I am… I… I tried to save you. I really did! I never wanted this to happen, and you’ve died and it’s my fault! And you probably hate me for it, but I still love you so much!” Danny rambled off in a whir of tears.
Maddie simply held her son tight idly playing with his hair, her core sparked and it soothed her as she comforted him, telling her this was good. “For what it’s worth, I don’t think it’s your fault, or rather I don’t feel mad at you anyway… I have a lot of anger towards something, it’s part of why I picked Vexera for a name, anger was all I knew at first, but... I know it’s not you that I’m mad at,” she soothed
“I… You’re not?” Danny practically whimpered into her shoulder. He sniffs a bit before wiping his face on his jumpsuit sleeve and looking her in the eye.
“No, I’m not.” She repeated simply offering a small smile to the teen.
 “Still I’m sorry I-”
“Freeze ghost skum!” A shot of a reddish pink ectoblast whizzed towards them snapping Danny out of his sorrow and into battle mode. Instantly a green shield came up around him and his mother’s ghost blocked the blast.
Danny glared at Valerie, his eyes burning holes into her head, hands flaring, beside him Maddie readied herself in much the same manner. “Not the time, Red” He hissed to her.
“You’re looking normal again, ghost, and now you’ve got yourself a cohort!” The huntress snarled out to the ghosts.
“Mom? Do you remember where we lived?” Danny asked though the woman responded with a shake of her head to the negative. Danny frowned this would be harder then…
“Mom?” Valerie scoffs. “Ghosts don’t have mothers.” She hissed out charging another shot.
“I still am a mother,” Meddie growled fiercely. Her own aura sparking dangerously with electricity. “I had two kids when I was alive! And I’m still their mother even now!”
Danny couldn’t help the smile spreading across his face. “Are you starting to remember stuff mum?” he asked, completely ignoring Valerie in favour of the more pressing issue.
 “A bit… I think I remember the house… it’s big with a-”
“Great, go towards the house then if you remember where my room is, go into there okay? I’ll deal with this then head over and we’ll properly talk.” Danny said, interrupting his mother before she could spill the beans on where he lived.
“Are you sure, Sweetie?” She asked.
Danny’s heart melted and his aura sparked in kind hearing her say that. It had been a month since he’d been called any embarrassing pet names by his mother. It was one of the stupidest things he’d found himself missing over the month.
Valerie shot a blast and Danny matched it with his own causing it to mix and explode into an odd sickly purple brown smoke. “You’re not going anywhere ghost!” Valerie called out heading out through the smoke to attack more physically.
Danny went up, Maddie went left, with Valerie following close behind apparently having deemed the newer ghost less of a threat or an easier target.
It was the wrong move though, as Danny’s core sparked and he spun around and took off like a shot towards the huntress, slamming into her, and catching her off guard. Phantom was hardly ever an up close fighter with her, preferring to stay back and shoot her as opposed to attacking her directly.
Valerie let out a yelp as she was suddenly slammed by the speeding freight train that was Phantom before the pair slammed into an apartment rooftop. She yelled and hissed in pain but her suit had taken the majority of the damage.
But really, what made her gasp more than anything was that she was staring into the fully green overfilled eyes of Phantom. No whites of his eyes no Pupil just green voids in his skull. It was creepy and the snarl on his face with bared fangs was the most ghostly she had ever seen him.
He let out a hissing noise that sounded like static before blinking a few times. His eyes cleared of they’re solid green state but his glare was no less fierce. He seemed slightly confused but saw his ‘mom’ floating nearby and seemed to relax somewhat.
“What did you do that for!? I swear if you broke my board again-” Valerie ground out.
“Sweetie?” Maddie’s voice struck through Danny’s obsession blinded brain as he turned to look at his mother.
“I’m fine… I just... “ He shook his head and turned his glare back to Valerie. “Don’t you dare touch her.”
“You don’t tell me what to do ghost!” Valerie spat back wrist ray popping out from her suit in retaliation.
“No, but I do, and I say stand down.”  A new voice sounded as the door to the roof opened.
 “What? But I-”
“Yes, yes you have the ghost right here, but, you silly girl, do you not see what was happening? Obsession blindness is not something you want to trifle with. These two are fairly new ghosts and do not know how to control themselves properly.” Vlad said sternly.
Instantly Phantom bristled. “You! I swear-”
“Ah- you will do no such thing if you wish to keep yourself in at least some mystery,” Vlad warned.
“You… I knew you…” Maddie said slowly after a moment.
“Why yes you did my dear,” Vlad purred.
Danny’s hands flared and Vlad shook his head “Come now, none of that while ladies are present little badger. You wouldn’t want to have yourself fall to ruin. Go home huntress, I can take these ghosts from here.”
Danny stood protectively in front of his mother. He would not fail to protect her a second time! He’d just gotten her back and he would fight tooth and nail to make sure she stays with him this time.
Vlad’s eyes narrow and flash red as he glares at the brat who dared stand in the way of his beloved.
Valerie looked between the ghosts and Masters a moment before catching his eyes flash. “What?! I knew something was wrong here! All you ghosts are just trying to trick me! Well, I’m smarter than that!” In an instant, she threw her arm up at Vlad and fired.
The blast never hit though, as a pink shield appeared in front of the slimy man.
Maddie instantly bristled seeing it, something in her mind and core sparked dangerously and her golden eyes glossed over. When the ghost, Plasmius, appeared, however, the reaction was instantaneous.
 Maddie lunged.
Vlad gaped, both versions of him, as the sheer power of her ecto coated fist shattered the shield. The woman didn’t slow down as she instantly made an ecto constructed bo-staff and whacked Plasmius with it, shattering the concrete on the roof.
“I’ll end you!” Maddie roared bringing her construct down, sparking with electric power, right into where Vlad’s core should have been.
The man had managed to turn intangible at the last second and disappear into the building, leaving Maddie to frantically search and reach out her senses for him.
Valerie tried to launch an attack at Maddie while she was distracted only to be phased away by Danny, who was only a little bit in his right mind at the moment. The last thing he really needed was Valerie getting hurt because of his rising emotions.
The flood of his anger, worry, fear, protectiveness of his family, and love for his mother more particularly at this moment, all flared and swirled. His human half feeding into his ghostly needs and making it stronger.
Danny dumped Valerie in what he believed was a locked room, silently hoping that her need to play hero extended to not causing too much needless property damage, before flying back up to the roof.
All hell had broken loose up there. Maddie had turned into a hell beast with the ferocity that she was attacking Plasmius with. Human Vlad, Danny wasn’t sure which was the real one at this point, stared up at the display with a mix of giddy awe, with a touch of fear and worry.
“Perhaps I miscalculated where her biases lie…” Vlad muttered to himself. “I would have thought for sure she would have come after you as well,” he mentioned flicking his eyes to Danny as he speaks.
“You’re the one who killed her, you frootloop!” Danny growled, tossing an ectoblast at the man, who simply snuffed it out with his own pink glowing hand, while the other tossed something towards the boy.
The spectral cube activated and shocked Danny instantly, trapping him and forcing him back to human form.
Vlad shot the boy a grin of triumph, while the battle raged on overhead. “Now as soon as I can tire her out, I can bring my dear Madoline home, and take her as my bride.
Danny hissed out in frustration only to yelp as a lightning bolt landed near his trapped form. His eyes widen and he can’t suppress the shiver that wracks through his body. He hated lightning, and well any electric thing more than any other type of attacks he’d come across.
It always gave him death flashbacks…
Vlad, the human one, suddenly gasped and gripped his chest in pain as pink ectoplasm rained down around the roof. “You- You” he stopped himself and stared up at Maddie who landed harshly on the roof. Her glow was flickering and she looked tired but looked more than pleased with herself for having defeated the clone.
“Impressive… Though I should have expected no less from you, my dear.” Vlad managed out, trying his best to look poised as always.
Though Maddie ignored him in favour of staring at Danny, “Your… Phantom?” she asked curiously. “Danny Phantom.” She nods in understanding. “So then you’re the halfa I was hearing about”
“Oh thank you, darling! You took care of that nasty ghost who was overshadowing me! I can’t thank you enough!” Vlad poured on the good guy act as he moved to grab Maddie's hand.
In an instant her hand ignited, causing Vlad to yelp and jump back from the ghostly woman.  She glared. “You. I don’t like you” she said simply.
Vlad’s face fell. “But why ever not my dear?”
 “I don’t remember, I just know I don’t.” Came the clipped answer.
“Danno! I saw your signal blip out so I came to help an- V-Man what are you doin’ here and…” Jack trailed off as his eyes fell upon the full scene. His son was trapped in some kind of ghostly looking box, a ghost that looked suspiciously like his dead wife, and his best friend Vladdie all staring each other down.  “M-Mads? Is that… is that really you Mads?”
Vlad sneered and as the Red huntresses hoverboard whirred in his ears he decided it would be best to take the distraction and bow out. As Jack moved to his wife’s ghost Vlad slipped into the stairwell to hide. A second later there was only pink mist where he had once stood.
Maddie turned to the large orange clad man, and something sparked in her. Her eyes seemed to become sharper and more defined and her aura seemed to calm seeing him. “Jack? Your name is Jack, right?”
Valerie had planned on coming out guns blazing hoping to take down the infernal ghosts that had been conspiring against her and her employer. When she rounded the rooftop to find Vlad gone, Phantom gone, Danny trapped, and Jack Fenton, the number one most eccentric ghost hunter HUGGING a ghost… she paused, turned her board to stealth mode, and tried to listen in, hoping to gather some info about this ghost's potential plan.
“You remember me then?” the large man asked hopefully as he practically drowned the ghostly woman in his arms.
“Some things…” She admits. “Not everything. It’s still fuzzy…”
“Some is better than nothing mom… The fact that you remember anything at all is really impressive. Usually, it takes ghosts a while to remember anything from their past life… er right, dad?” Danny asked.
It was still awkward when he talked to his father about ghost related things. There were things that his father had made theories on that were completely off the wall while others were very close to what he’d been taught as fact. But his father was considered one of the top ecto-biologists so whenever he talked like he knew more than his father, even though his father had been nothing but encouraging… it was still awkward.
“Yep! I remember talking to you about that a little while ago, we were talking about looking for your mother possibly in the Zone but she showed up here on her own!” Jack boomed in a boisterous manner he hadn’t used since Maddie’s passing a full month ago. Even the tears in his eyes did little to ruin the overall image of a happy Jack Fenton.
“Can someone get me out of this thing by the way?” Danny asked after a moment of his parents staring at each other.
Jack turned in an instant. “Yea, of course, son! Er, why are you even in that thing Dann-o? And what does it do?” it looks ghostly… kinda. Mads did you attack Danny before you recognized him?”
“No, that wasn’t me. It was the other man... Who’s run off now…” Maddie scrunched up her nose and lifted her lip to bear her fang. “I don’t trust him…”
“V-man? Hey Vladdie! ...huh… guess he didn’t want to get in the way of this reunion?” Jack asked with a slight shrug of nonchalance. He frowned and moved over to the thing trapping his son before finding a toggle switch and turning it off. It shrunk back into a small handheld object almost instant;y.
“Thanks, Dad,” Danny said with a sigh of relief.
“No sweat son! Though it’s an odd looking shield, I’ll have to give it back to Vladdie later.” Jack said with a nod to himself before pocketing the cube.
Danny ignored the large man in favour of moving to hug his mother’s ghost once again. “I really missed you…” He managed out with only one voice crack.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t able to come back sooner… but to think! My boy, a halfa!” she said with a smile holding him tight only for jack to wrap his arms around both of them in a death hug and crush the boy even further.
Hovering just below the roofline as silent as could be Valerie went slack jawed. She mouthed out the word halfa, thinking back to the little half ghost girl she had helped to save. It wasn’t long after that for her to put two and two together.
Phantom had called that ghost mom, Jack Fenton had affectionately called the ghost ‘Mads’ and again, the ghost called Danny, a halfa. Valerie felt betrayed and hurt and… so many other awful things directed towards him right now. But as she peeked out to the roof, and saw the three of them crying in a reuniting hug, she couldn’t bring herself to interrupt.
As much as she hated Phantom, he was still half human, and she knew full well what it was like to lose a mother. She was just never so lucky as to have met her in death… though if her mother came back as a ghost would she have the strength of will to bring her down just like any other ghost? Or would she be dragged into its tricks by its image…
Valerie closed her eyes a moment to think, before shaking her head and deciding it best to just leave. She had a lot of thinking to do…
When the Fenton hug finally broke apart, Maddie's eyes were cleared, she had a slightly greenish tint to the whites of her eyes, but the only golden colour was the iris. Her glow looked stronger than ever, and she wore a loving smile as she assessed the males before her.
“I think… I think I remember our house… I would like to see it for real to be sure… if -- if you wouldn’t mind that is?” Maddie asked, looking to Jack with a hope filled glint in her eye.
“D’aw baby, ya don’t gotta ask. You’re still a Fenton, and Fenton’s stick together no matter what!” Jack answered with a glee filled chuckle
“I’m just glad to have you back mum” Danny sighed out before letting out a large yawn.
Jack shook his head though a fond smile still pulled at his lips. “See this is why I tell you to not go out ghost fighting past midnight… Though given the circumstances I think I’ll hold off on grounding you.”
Danny shook his head and blinked a few times. “Thanks?” He tried, unsure if that was really the appropriate response or not.
“Well, what are we waiting for!? Let's head home and wake up Jazzy pants!” JAck boomed.
A second later an angered resident from the apartment building next to the one they were standing on the roof of, called out a few obscenities at them.
“I think the neighbours agree it’s time we head out.” Maddie chortled out, an echoing musical sound. “I’ll help get us back down.” Maddie hummed out before grabbing an arm of each of the males and phasing them through the side of the roof and onto the street below.
“I remember a large truck?” She tried, looking around the area.
Jack beamed at his wife and nodded eagerly. “Yeah! That’s right hun! The Fenton Ghost Attack Vehicle! GAV for short!”
Thus closed a chapter in Daniel Fenton’s life, but with it came many more problems. Maddie slowly regained some of the memories she’d once held dear, though she still had large gaping holes in what she did remember. It was a slow process, but one that the usually overeager Jack Fenton had no problem being patient with.
For Maddie, she’d found it hard to fit back in with the family, and for the longest time, she was constantly trying to regain some semblance of what was. She didn’t really know who she was supposed to be, or who she once was as a human. Though, once she accepted her changes and realized that she was not any longer the Maddie they remembered, and were not pushing her to be such, she’d come into her own and found healthy ways to feed her obsession.
All in all, it was weird, good but weird. Then again the Fentons were always known as the weird ghost family anyway… What’s one more rumour in the mill?

“Look Sam! I did it!” (children practicing magic in the swamp)
Guess who did a new AU!! I did! I call it the Naga!Danny AU cause I can’t think of another name rn
I’ll put all the details I got so far under the link (oh and also 3 extra images cause I was very exited and i draw more hehe)
Takes place in a world where magic is real and humans live in a medieval-victorian like era, mythos (mythological creatures) and some humans can wield magic, humans have more variety in what kind of magic they can use but mythos are more specialized and stronger in their kind of magic. Humans separated the mythos into two categories: Monsters (the dangerous ones or ones that are more likely to attack humans, like werewolves) and benigns (the ones that prefer to be left alone, like centaurs)
Maddie and Jack are monster hunters, this gained them some enemies, one of those enemies is a shadow, a monster without form that is known for their unbreakable curses. In one of their hunts they somehow anger the shadow and it wants revenge, seeing that it couldn't come close enough to the hunters it decides to curse one of the hunters offspring, they had been fool to drag their children to the hunt. the shadow attacked the closer to it but before it could activate the curse completely it was interrupted by the hunters, but it didn’t matter the curse would activate by itself in some time.
The 12 years old Danny Fenton was lucky the shadow didn't completed its curse, his parents were worried for weeks after the incident but at seeing that Danny hadn't changed at all they concluded that the shadow didn't make any curse and that it was only taunting them.
For 2 years Danny felt weird, sometimes he could swore that he had escams in his arms or that his teeth felt a little too sharp, but when he saw himself in the mirror he saw nothing in his reflex and continued with his life.
The Fentons lived in the town of Amity, the town was located near the lake Erie and the Ghoul swap (yes humans aren't very creative with names), the river that feed the lake came from the Frozen mountains in the Kre’k mountain range and continued towards the ocean with the swamp following it, More to the mountains side there was a thick forest where humans could hunt deers, rabbits and was abundant in fruit trees.
The Fenton’s house was separated from the town and was ubicated near the swamp, the volatile experiments of the adults made it clear to the townspeople that it was safest for everyone if their house was far away from the others (fires were a very dangerous thing and nobody would have let them live in the town for fear of one). Even if the Fentons were appreciated for their services they were way too extravagant to have too much respect in the town, not that the Fenton parents care for that.
Maddie and Jack were hunters and inventors, their house was oddly constructed, the main part of the house was constructed with the same bricks as all the houses in the town, though they later added another part in the roof and some other rooms at the sides, the rooms weren't the same size so that the house was very asymmetric and it gave it an odd look to the outsiders, even so Danny loved his house.
Danny, Sam and Tucker were best friends since very young, Tucker was an inventor, though he invented things to make his life easier, Sam was a magic user, she learns everything from her grandma, her favorite magic was the plant and healing kinds, though she knew a little of shadow and fire magic to use in self defense. Magic users were not well seen by the humans because of they could wield magic like the monsters (they conveniently forgot that benigns could do magic too… jerks), so if discovered magic users were treated lower than dirt and were usually enslaved.
Danny learned how to hunt from his parents but he is not interested in killing monsters, he is only willing to kill animal for food and really hates when the other hunters kill for sport (when they kill a deer just for the antlers and leave the body behind), though he is an excellent tracker, he can track any animal or human in land and even the turtles and crocodiles in the swamp, nobody knows how he does it but don't complain when they have turtle to eat. Sam doesn't like that innocent animals are killed but she understands it’s for food (if it was for her she would live of only plants and fruit, but it is not possible in that era)
When Danny reached his 14 bday he was alone in the swamp near his house with only Sam and Tucker as company, his parents had gone to a hunt and would be away for a few days, and his sister was in town teaching to read to the children. The three friends were in search for any fish in the traps that Tucker had built and when the sun was at its highest point danny felt a great pain and screamed, then he passed out.
When Danny woke up his face was in the mud and his legs felt funny, well his everything felt funny, Danny then tried to stand up but for some reason he couldn't and when he saw his “legs” he knew why, he had no legs anymore in its place there was a long muscled snake body covered with black escames, then Danny saw his hands and those were covered with white escames that went as far as his forearm and his fingernails were now small white claws.
Danny then saw his reflection in the dirty water, his hair changed from black to white and his ears were more pointy than before but the thing that was most shocking were his eyes, they were completely green with two vertical slits as pupils. Danny knew that he had transformed somehow into a naga for what his parents told him nagas were one of the most dangerous monsters, nobody knew what kind of magic they were stronger but everybody knew nagas were the most poisonous creatures, their bite was mortal and even their meat and blood wasn't safe to eat for any animal.
When Sam and Tucker called for his name Danny didn't knew what to do, they have seen his transformation and had waited until he woke up to ask him what just happened, Danny told them that he didn't knew and then they agreed to go to Danny's house because maybe his parents have some information in this. Sam and Tucker had to help danny (half dragging him) towards the house (danny doesn't know how to move his snake body yet)
That's how all starts, Danny is now a half monster and after Danny mastered his transformation from human to naga and vice Sam teaches danny some of her shadow magic (they were experimenting what kind of magic Danny can do) and Danny is very good at it, he uses shadows to hide himself, it works better in the night, (this AU version of invisibility) Danny doesn't tell his parents for fear that they will experiment in his naga form and then kill him.
After 2 weeks of Danny transformation monsters start to appear in the town and cause problems in there, Danny Sam and Tucker decided to stop the monsters from causing too much damage to their town and end up saving most of them from the Fenton parents, later Sam teaches Danny fire magic, then Danny can use green fire to attack the most violent monsters (version of ectoblasts)
They later decide that Danny’s naga form should have the name Serpent, it was way better that the name the humans started calling him after someone saw a shadow of him, they were calling him Snaeky (like snake and sneaky fused toegether), Danny hates that name
Because I didn’t want all ghost to be monsters in this AU I made a list (ok 2 lists)
Monsters
-Trollbox: this au version of the box ghost, he is a small troll that likes to do a mess everywhere he goes, mostly for attention, very weak and annoying
-Ember: she is a siren (humanoid creature, only merpeople have fish tails) her blue hair moves from her head like underwater, tho is so bright blue that some humans think is fire, she likes the attention of people when she sings, tho it has a little lure in it that made humans want to approach her and forget what they were doing
-Wulf: lone werewolf, he didn't like his previous pack’s ideology of eating humans and other mythos so he left them, bad side is that he’s hunted by humans, he makes Danny and his friends his new pack and then lives in the forest near Amity
-Nocturne: octopi (half human half octopus… like ursula in the little mermaid), lives in the ocean but like the octopus he can go to land if he wishes, he spacializes in mind magic, visits Amity one night out of curiosity, is neutral with Danny after the encounter
-Frostbite: he and his tribe are yetis (oh wow… shocking -_-... anyway) they live in the frozen mountain and is thanks to their magic over ice and snowstorms that the river that feeds Amity exists, Danny learns ice magic with them
-Pandora: arachni (half human half spider, it made sense with her four arms ok!) she is the queen of the Akr’us empire, they live underground in most of the Kre’k mountain range (that why the name) like canon danny become allies with them at returning a treasure that boxy stole
-Aragon and Dorathea: they are actually dragons that can speak human language, they have a kingdom (more like Aragon ate the king and stayed there as the new king), it’s full of humans but little or almost none mythos, the kingdom is in an islad near the beach where the swamp ends
-Vlad Masters/Plasmius: Vlad kew Maddie and Jack when they were young and he joined in their monster hunts too, in a incident similar at the one Danny had Vlad was cursed to be a half monster too, but he is half vampire so there isn't much he can offer to Danny to leave his father, only safety more information of magic that he could use and acceptance, tho Danny doesn't like his manipulative attitude and refuse. Vampires feed of blood (human or animal, no mythos cause magic does weird thing to their bodies) they have wings that hide them as a cape (yes he’s still the rich manipulative bastard that we all love)
-Vortex: weather spirit, likes to cause electric storms, Danny has to stop him before he creates fires in the town, after confrontation he is convinced to do his storms away from Amity.
-Undergrowth: forest spirit, after a big deforestation he awakes and wants revenge towards the humans, after confrontation he is asured that humans will not desforest more than they need, he then goes back to the forest (he will be busy reforesting)
-Poindexter: weak ghost looking for revenge in his abusers, after misunderstanding becomes friends with Danny
-Amorpho: shapeshifter, likes to prank people, neutral with Danny
-Observants: weird eyeballs with long thin tentacles, they live under the ocean and almost never leave it
-Clockwork: naga, especialized in time magic, (TUE happens as in canon changing some details), becomes teacher of Danny (fuck u vlad!) and kinda father figure
-Dan: mix of naga Danny and vampire Vlad (with the snake half, the wings and Vlad greenish skin), for his thirst of blood he had drank of humans and mythos, the magic in mythos blood make him insane and homicidal- stopped by Danny and erased from the timeline for Clockwork
-Spectra: leech of people's emotions, humanoid with wrinkled skin and pointy teeths she’s very manipulative, enemie of Danny and friends.
-bertrand: shapeshifter, follows Spectra like a puppy
-Cujo: shuck (big black ghostly dog that roams near the coast), he is feared for humans tho he is just a curious creature, becomes friend with Danny roams the swamp near his house, for some reason the Fenton parents never see him
-Hotep ra: mummy that cames to Amity thanks to merchants, wants to rebuild his lost kingdom, manipules Tucker like a puppet, enemie of Danny
-Klemper: ice spirit that is always looking for friends, tho he tends to freeze everything in his path, after becoming friend with Danny he roams the Frozen mountain with his new yeti friends
-Sojourn: air elemental, explorer, can wield lighting like whips to attack or defend himself, good friend with Clockwork and visits him sometimes, becomes a uncle figure to Danny, has way to many stories to share
Humans
-Skulker: monster hunter, wants danny cuase is very rare to even see a naga (duh), is in good terms with Vlad (tho he doesnt know about the half monster thing)
-Technus: inventor of skulker weapons, besides his best friend, extravagant like the Fentons but not interested in hunting
-Johnny and Kitty: horse riders, rebels, after confrontation they are friends with Danny (they adopted him as a little brother, yes they know about the naga thing when Danny tried to stop them for causing too much chaos)
-Walker: runs a prison, tho is very far from Amity, wants to imprison humans and mythos that go against the rules (his rules)
-Freakshow: slaves mythos for his cirqus (monsters and beings), Danny has to be saved by his friends
-Pharia Dark: enemy king, tries to invade the kingdom in where danny lives, Amity is his starting point in conquest, he uses magical artifacts of power created by some mages in his kingdom
-Fright knight: loyal knight (not really) of Pharia Dark, mounts a dark alicorn and has a magic sword, changes his loyalty towards the kingdom that defeated his king
-Desiree: magician slaved by some comerciants, Danny and friends free her and she becomes an allie, she hides in the swamp in a old abandoned house, Danny and friends bring her food and company, she teaches Danny and Sam what she knows of magic
-Dairy king: he is the king of the kingdom in which Amity is, good king doesnt have much enemies, prefers peace and daily products
-Ghost writer: he's known as writer, he teach the kids in the school, his favourite recreation is writing and reading
-Youngblood: little orphan that lives in amity, is friends with Danny since before the incident, they always put pranks in grown ups (probably will get adopted by Desiree)
-Lunch lady: ( have to give her a name!) the best cook of Amity, she’s the head chef in all parties and wants to feed the children, tho she can be scary if they refuse her food
That’s all I have so far, if you guys have any ideas or question u are free to ask (u can also ask in my main blog)
ok now the 3 pictures!!

Part 6. Betrayal
The night went smoothly. It was already very quiet, except for the sounds of nocturnal animals in the woods, which lulled guests to a light sleep. In the morning, the guests woke up to the fact that the people of the tribe were already awake and were carrying out their morning activities.
They were invited to breakfast and they followed the invitation politely, as it would have been very bad manners to refuse the meager offerings of these good people.
Carl tried to enjoy his breakfast and cover up his disgust when, in addition to the tasty fruit, they were also offered insects. He still tried to be polite, even though he made up his mind to express his opinion of the bugs.
Terri, Danny, and Cale wanted to spend some more time with Westridge, so the day was half over when they finally decided to get back on the river boat.
Westridge went with Bira to accompany them. He thus wanted to spend as much time as possible with his friends and make sure they could get back safely on the river boat.
The trip there went smoothly. But it did change as they arrived at the riverbank. They were not expecting guests and yet there were three unknown men on the riverboat. The happy conversation faded and they looked at the uninvited guests in dismay. The only one who did not react to the guests was Carl, who calmly boarded the riverboat, ignoring the armed trio waiting for them.
Carl greeted the men, like his old acquaintances, which made the rest of the party more and more concerned. So this was arranged, they concluded.
“Westridge, you and your friend should disappear, now,” Cale said quietly, guessing it wasn’t all as it should be.
“He stays there if he doesn’t want to be a living target,” Carl said sharply.
“You two-faced bastard!”, Terri gasped angrily, and memories of the past rose to the surface. That deception was repeated once again and they were in danger and could not defend themselves, for they had no weapons of any kind, except for Bira's spear and arrows. But there would be no match for the rifle and the man handling it.
"Tut tut, watch your mouth ”, Carl said softly, while his eyes flashed dangerously, “now we’re doing what I want. I may not need all of you so you may stay here on the riverboat kindly waiting, but this miraculously survived friend of yours will either leave for our guide or have to watch as these kind gentlemen slaughter all his new friends”, he added to that dangerously soft voice.
In the middle of the night, Carl had gone by radio to inform these men of the whereabouts of the riverboat, or closest to the GPS locator that the men had then used to find it.
“And you think we would obey you,” Westridge said contemptuously. He had decided to prevent those men from hurting any more members of the tribe than his old friends.
“Oh, yes you will obey, because before these gentlemen let the members of the tribe out of their pain, they may play a little with your wife,” Carl said softly, almost hissing like a snake waiting for the right moment to strike.
Westridge's fingers clenched into fists, the muscles in his arms twitched slightly, and he could see that he wanted to punch his fist in Carl's smug face. The hazel eyes flashed dangerously and the gaze was icy. And if the gazes could have killed, Carl would surely have fallen dead to that place.
“Ah, and this must be the jumping rat that escaped,” Sanders said contentedly, like a cat catching and playing with it before the last blow, “good, good, now I get to settle a few debts with you,” he added, looking coolly at Westridge, at the same time leaning casually against the railing.
Westridge was silent, but glared at Sanders. The muscle in his cheek twitched as he bit his teeth together so as not to say anything that he would regret afterwards. He followed with his gaze as the man descended confidently down the stairs that led up to the cab.
The man leaped over the deck and stepped ashore. Before anyone could even move, the man's hand moved quickly. There was a disgusting soft munch and Westridge folded twice audibly with a hiss. Danny moved towards Sanders with the intention of helping Westridge, but had to stop because the man had a black, shiny pistol in his hand.
“No one moves if you don’t want an extra hole in your body,” Sanders said coldly, looking happily at the traces of his hand, “and you,” he began, “you’re helping us find that damn temple,” he hissed.
Westridge still couldn't answer, but coughed and tried to equalize his breath. Breathing was painful and diaphragm area was sore, as Sanders’s blow had been really strong.
Jones and Adams had also come to the beach and one of them had deftly disarmed Biran’s weapons. Now the young man was in the man's tight grip, waiting for instructions on what to do for the prisoner.
“I guess I’ll start with him,” Sanders said, pressing his gun barrel against Bira’s temple.
“Wait, no, don’t ... don’t hurt him,” Westridge said after his breathing finally leveled off and as the pain slowly began to ease, while scrumping up from the ground, “I’ll help, we’ll take you there,” he had to admit, as he never could let that bastard hurt Bira.
“Good,” Sanders said, putting his gun away, after which he told his men to tie both Westridge’s and Bira’s hands, after which the two commanded him to sit on the beach.
“I’m sorry about this, but this is for your own good,” Carl said, giving orders to bind Terri, Danny and Cale as well, “just in case you could head out to follow us,” he added and turned to look at Alejandro, who was standing still confused but also angrily. He was angered by the way the man treated his parents and their friends.
Alejandro thought hard about what he should do and tried to see if he could escape, but it seemed that it would not succeed without being noticed. Besides, he would only run into a new shortage, for he could not walk through the woods without getting lost.
“As you, I wouldn’t plan to run away,” Carl hissed at the young man, pointing out, “you come with us, because maybe it will calm your parents a little and prevent them from making too hasty decisions”.
Alejandro was silent, for he understood that now was not a good time to resist, for there might be unfortunate consequences. He was furious with the man who had betrayed them all and only because of some treasure. What a self-centered, greedy bastard, he thought.
After Jones and Adams had made sure Danny, Terry, and Cale couldn't get anywhere from the riverboat, they stepped ashore, where Carl and Sanders were already waiting. Adams pulled Westridge and Biran upright, pushing them roughly to Carl.
Carlin didn't have to say anything, for they knew they should lead the entire expedition to that damn temple. Admittedly, Westridge himself no longer remembered where it was, for he had at that time something else to think about, than to remember the route.
Bira, on the other hand, knew the area and knew the temple very well. He just did not want to go there because the father and other elders of the tribe claimed that the place was evil, cursed. That place had belonged to the people who had built it long before their time.
Bira looked at Westridge a little hesitantly, but after seeing it serious look on his face, he decided to obey, albeit reluctantly, and not to do it because of the men, but because of Westridge, for to him this was one of the members of the tribe.
Westridge and Bira's hands were released while walking in the jungle and so they then began to pass through dense vegetation, with Bira and Sanders in the lead, Carl next and alongside Westridge, followed by Adams, Jones and Alejandro.
Progress was relatively slow, although Bira would certainly have progressed at a faster pace as he knew the environment and knew where to step, but now he had to act as a guide and had to be careful as the jungle could kill in many ways if not careful.
They had already traveled for how long and passed the small campsite the day before when they finally stopped to breathe. But only for a short time, as Carl didn’t want to waste his time on pointless stops. So the journey continued, but only until it got so dark that it was no longer safe to move on.
The hands of Biran, Westridge, and Alejandro were tightly tied together, and in addition, they were tied to a suitable sturdy tree to prevent them from slipping away during the night. After that, Adams and Jones set up a couple of tents. Three of the men spent the night in a tent, one guarding.
The prisoners slept relatively poorly, as the sleeping pad was uncomfortable, as was the position in which they had to sleep tied up. They were still very tired in the morning, not even helped by the fact that they got some kind of breakfast and a little drink before the camp was put together and the journey continued.
They stumbled forward on the uneven terrain until they finally came to an opening with a formation that looked like a rock at first sight, but on closer inspection they found it to be the temple they had been looking for.
Now even Westridge recognized the place and wondered if those thugs would save their lives when they got the coveted treasure from the caches of that ancient structure. Hardly, he concluded, they certainly would not leave a single witness behind.
