Massachusetts having nightmares sometimes and being surprised when someone notices he's had a rough night. He's generally a very private person, so he doesn't really discuss it often when someone asks.
Ooooo~ Yes I get to torture Masshole with my bullsh*t >:)
-Mass does in fact have a LOT of nightmares
-a lot of the nightmares are from the Salem Witch Trials, others are from when he was owned by Britain (who would abuse him and his siblings and is responsible for York being near fully blind in one eye-), and the rest is mostly war and other things that have happened in his state (Such as the Boston Marathon Bombing, which I believe killed 3 and injured over 200)
-Much like Louisiana, he also gets tormented by the spirits and they haunt his dreams as well. But he’s been dealing with them for much longer and knows how to deal with them a bit better than Loui does.
-the only people to have really asked him if he had a bit of a rough night are his brothers, Loui, and the other OG13. They’re also the ones that know him well enough to know when something is terribly wrong and out of place with the Bay State. That being said, since there’s only like- 14 people that will even bother asking him what’s wrong, he’s very surprised if someone else bothers to "waste their time" talking to him about his nightmares.
-On more than one occasion, he has been found passed tf out on the couch and shaking and hyperventilating and crying in his sleep. And whoever found him woke him up and tried to figure what was wrong. But of course his stubborn secretive a$$ kept insisting that "he’s fine" and "it was just a nightmare and he’s fine", which was ofc utter bullsh*t, but whoever woke him up is too scared of him to push any further.
-his nightmares are part of the reason that he doesn’t sleep. But it’s not that he doesn’t want to sleep, he does (he’s a damn doctor and he knows the importance of sleeping), but hes scared to. He doesn’t want to have flashbacks to having his little brother get knocked out in his arms, he doesn’t want to see the bloody faces of his enemies running at him and mocking him, he doesn’t wanna hear the screams of thousands of innocent people being hung, burned, and tortured for "being a witch". So he stays up at night and reads books and listens to music.
-he sometimes hangs out with York in his room (in sort of a sleep-over kinda way) and he falls asleep more often than not. So he will be passed out next to NY (who’s probably just reading a book or scrolling through his phone) and the nightmares will attack him. But luckily, York can tell when his older brother is having a nightmare (idk, maybe it’s a change in breathing patterns? Maybe it’s just spidey-brother instincts that tell him something’s wrong? Idk-), and will hold his hand through the entire thing or just hug him through the entire thing.
