Okay I know I said I was going to sleep but y'all.
Are people seriously saying that a company that can't properly bolt on a door or an emergency slide has perfect opsec on a contract killing plan to off a dude by giving him MRSA, pneumonia, and a stroke?
Is that really the argument people are making?
Really?

why did they make rowlet so comfortable with misty? rowlet would usually only sleep on ash’s head but all of a sudden it’s inclined to sit on misty’s as well. ash’s head is like a home for rowlet so is misty’s head also considered his home now too? is rowlet saying that misty an extension of ash and/or that misty is like his second owner??
why did they make misty not mind rowlet sleeping on her head? like she instantly got used to him sitting there. it was as if they were communicating that misty will continue to let rowlet sit on her head in future episodes or even beyond the end of the anime. does misty assume that ash’s pokemon are also hers to take care of? are they saying that misty will continue to be with ash even beyond the end of the anime that rowlet made a justifiable habit out of this?
why did they make misty reference the red string of fate?
why did they in emphasize how well ash and misty’s pokemon get along in general?
why did they go out of their way to draw big hearts between clauncher and corphish when they knew about the optics of what it would mean for ash and misty?
why even have an episode at all about the inseparability of a pokemon misty owns and a pokemon Ash owns?
why clauncher and corphish in the first place?
why not make it easy on yourself and just show the lure now instead of potentially trapping yourself for the inevitable episode with dawn?
why have misty physically wrap her line on ash’s wrist, why be so dramatic and intimate about it? why not grab ash’s hat or sleeve, something less physical?
why have ash and misty have the same goofy 1-to-1 expression when they’re dunked in the water, would they do that for any other pokegirl this late in the series?
why even have a battle this episode, what does it prove that misty can beat ash even though he’s a champion?
why have ash in the previous episode not have any idea where to go, only relying on his gut of what feels right, capped by him meeting misty who talks about fate albeit, delusionally, when it comes to clauncher?

Do you have any drawings or ideas that you originally intended for past PAFL vids, but never made it into the final cut?
Oh for sure!
The first one I can think of is that until the very last moment I was considering having Yura hug Sanya instead of vice versa at the end of Occam's Razor. I ultimately decided that it would make far more sense to be the other way around, since a gesture like that would be a bit too manipulative for Yura. And it just flowed better! Though, I think I talked about this already.
Another Occam's Razor thing that didn't quite make the cut was a small animation in the very final shot (sorry for shit resolution, I'm just taking screenshots on my phone).
Tumblr media
I don't think I will find it now, and all things considered, it was very unremarkable: Yura just slowly raised his head. It looked very jarring in the video, so I settled for a short still, which was for the best.
Punch it Punk had a similar situation to the first one described, where I wasn't quite sure about the scene of Anya finding out about Dmitry's mutation.
Tumblr media
It wasn't particularly significant, I just couldn't quite decide on the logistics of how it would unfold, so there were a couple of variants in slightly different apartment layouts.
KT's Official Guide to Coolness was a song and video I was super dissatisfied with, and for good reason. It's easily the blandest entry in the series to me. I wanted to actually animate the breakout scene with her and Dmitry, but back then I didn't have nearly enough skill to pull that off (and really, I still don't).
Tumblr media
I also really hated how the first PAFL video turned out (still do), because I simply didn't understand how to convey certain things in a satisfactory way. I still remember how people thought Yura was an uwu sadboy after it came out because I didn't show his attitude too well. I want to remake it once I'm done with the series - so in a couple years lol - just to see how much my PV powers will have grown💪💪

Not to Occam's Razor the fairy/walrus discussion, but a fairy at my door could easily be a little kid in a cute costume (as little kids are apt to do) and a walrus at my door could easily be a furry (not that you see many walrus Sonas, but I've no doubt they're out there)

Sid's razor.
It's like Occam's razor, but "the funniest explanation is usually the best one."
Really makes life a whole lot more enjoyable.

I wonder if you might be willing to explain what philosophical razors are? I realize the answer is easily searchable, but it also seemed like something that you might enjoy explaining, should the opportunity present itself.
Hi anon! A philosophical razor is a rule of thumb that allows you to shave off unnecessary/unlikely explanations/debates/etc. It's not a law, in that there are likely always situations in which you'd choose not to apply it based on context, but it helps to navigate arguments and explanations.
Is it possible that I got on this train via alien transport after being abducted last night? Yeah, sure, I guess, but Occam's Razor (explanations that require fewer assumptions are usually correct) would suggest that I probably just bought a ticket and walked onto the train.
I'm not a huge fan of this razor because I think truth does not tend toward simplicity, but it's clearly useful so I won't rage against it. In the story that prompted this ask, Keith is using Occam's Razor to keep anyone from getting too close. Occam's Razor + razor wire = "occam's razor wire".
Some razors are helpful for everyday life. My favourite razor is Hanlon's Razor: never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity. This shaves off all the unlikely explanations about how the man who bumped into me at the train station was doing it deliberately because he's an antisemite who's really good at spotting religious Jewish women via our skirt length and says: the more likely explanation is that he was just being absentminded.
Some razors aren't necessarily useful for every day, but are good for philosophy and debate. Hume's is-ought problem isn't called a razor (though it's sometimes called Hume's Guillotine) but falls under that category: you cannot derive an ought from an is. We're always doing that in life because we infer the relationship between the factual and the ethical, but in philosophy, it's important to note (or at least, I agree that it's important to note) that we should not jump from statements of fact to statements of prescription without something solid between. E.g. you can assert the fact that I am currently on a train, but you can't leap from there to saying I ought to pay for my train ticket without something linking the factual statement and the prescriptive statement. (Again, irl, we just intuit the middle ground - but that's not good enough for philosophers and ethicists).
And some razors are just people attempting to assert their own opinions and dismiss others based on their feelings. E.g. Alder's Razor: if someone cannot be proven through experiment and observation, it's not worthy of debate. Sure, Alder would love to argue about whether this train has WiFi and then look up the answer, but apparently doesn't care to debate when it stops being the Train of Theseus because that's a question of identity and how we interact with the nature of time. Which, let's be clear, is just Alder being lazy and uninteresting and calling it a razor.

(Transcript for those of you with screen readers bcuz I couldn’t figure out how to attach it to the image itself on mobile for some reason)
Person 1:
Chekov's Cat: if you see a cat in the first act, it will probably be relevant later. (example: Alien)
Shrodinger's razor: an unopened box may or may not contain the solution to the story; there's no way to know without opening it. (example: Monk)
Occam's gun: the simplest way to kill off a character is to shoot them. (example: Bambi)
Person 2:
Chekov's Box: If there is a container introduced in the opening act, it will be opened later.
Schrodinger's Gun: Treat every gun as if It's loaded unless you've checked it yourself.
Occar's Cat: If you hear strange noises at night, it's probably a cat.
Person 3:
Chekhov's gun: a narrative principle that states that every element in a story must be necessary, and irrelevant elements should be removed.
Occam's razor: if you have two competing ideas to explain the same phenomenon, you should prefer the simpler one.
Shrodingers cat- a cat in a box with poison that has a 50% chance of breaking, we will not know if the cat is dead or alive until opening the box leaving the cat in a perpetual state of uncertainty

If Homelander was so smart he himself and fans claim him to be, especially believing Supers are superior to average humans, Why Becca a lesser, weaker human? He should be smart enough at the time to realize mere mortals break easily and don't last very long. If he wanted a heir (I mean, he's gonna start liking the idea of having a legacy, a respectable lineage), he would've done it with supe women only, since they don't break that easily and last longer. If he's that impatient and desperate to have a superior offspring, I think it's safe to assume he's gonna start forcing himself on them repeatedly at this point because at least that said heir will ensure he's respected and more perfect than Ryan, since that offspring won't be half mere-mortal and a full-blooded supe. Then again, it's possible he'll be too tired to continue trying regardless, and force Ryan and the supe wife shitlander chooses for him bear him grandchildren, when they're sexually mature.
ew... anon what the fuck. ya really had to go and ask this question, didn't you...
ugh, ick, okay fine, i'll answer it, but what the fuck, and uh... what the fuck
it's because homelander didn't *care* about having an *heir* when he assaulted becca. he didn't even know he *could* have one so that's not why he did it.
on a side note and please for the love of fuck do not actually answer this because i'm only asking so you take a moment to consider what you just proposed
but why do you think a rapist would rape to 'procure an heir' anyhow??? maybe if they're in a relationship with the victim, but if it's a random stranger that gets convicted, it's a 5% chance they succeed and they're not gonna get rights to a kid born from that. pregnancy isn't as much a simple 'one and done' thing or as easy as people seem to think it is to get there. (a healthy couple that is legit trying has a 30% chance to succeed in the first month)
there are a number of reasons rapists will rape.
if we asked homelander specifically why he assaulted becca, his very bullshit answer could be as simple as 'she smelled nice' or 'she was pretty' or 'her husband insulted me' or 'why not' or 'because it was a fucking tuesday'
because even tho the correct answer is 'i'm a fuckhead who wanted to hurt someone', the reality is that in his head, he is a 'god' and he can do whatever the fuck he wants, so if the mood struck him, WHY THE FUCK NOT (ew, hate framing it this way but...)
this is the reality of that situation.
something something about that quote that ends with 'but for me it was tuesday', occam's razor.
homelander didn't give enough shits to put any thought into what he did nor did he think it would amount to anything, so boredom is your best bet for an explanation there
and this also has next to nothing to do with intelligence, this would be a matter of his own self perception (due to upbringing) and lack of understanding/care for consent (which is an educational issue), but thanks for the whole... eugenics rationale i guess??? (ew why and still what the fuck)
homelander has also stated that he wouldn't force himself on his own kind, more specifically, his exact words to maeve are:
"i respect what you are even if you don't, i would never force myself on you."
before he proceeds to tell her that he will harvest her eggs, so the whole eugenics mindset is there, but only *after* he learns that he *can* in fact have kids (see s1 ep7, the perceived sterility is briefly mentioned in his conversation with vogelbaum)
otherwise, and as gross as this is, i would say that homelander probably has the same if not similar mindset that zeus (greek god) would have... which is not great, but probably the most realistic outlook on this shit.
but again.
WHY?????
