for anyone interested, the music playing during the montage of zava winning all the games is called prisencolinensinainciusol, a song noteworthy for having lyrics that sound like english, but are just gibberish. the ‘words’ are actually nonsense syllables carefully arranged to sound like english to non-english speakers, which i think is pretty interesting from a meta perspective—everything seems like it’s going according to plan, but in actuality ted (and to an extent some others, like jaime, colin and roy) is flailing

One of the greatest songs ever written was made by Adriano Celentano who saw how popular music in English was in Italy, thought the Italian public would just enjoy anything that sounded remotely English, and decided to study phonetics theory to create gibberish lyrics for this fucking banger that includes a wicked organ vamp, himself rapping, and a sick harmonica solo
And did he prove his point? Yes.

Oh that’s a great question. The thing is, I just recently found out , so all throughout my life I’ve just kinda tuned it out. I’ll have to go back and listen to it again and piece it together!!

Songs that give me the same feeling despite having almost nothing in common:
Mad Rat Purgatory by Chongo
Ruler of Everything by Tally Hall
Chu Chu Lovely Muni Muni Mura Mura Purin Purin Borin Nururu Rerorero by Maximum the Hormone
Prisencolinensinainciusol by Adriano Celentano
Just blasting nonsense into my ADHD-addled brain until it's smooth as a river pebble.

Marco: So a long time ago, in like, the 70s, there was this Italian singer. Super popular. And he noticed how Italian audiences went crazy for American music, no matter what the song was, if it was in English, they loved it. So he decided he was going to make a song that sounded like English, and see if people would like it. So he wrote this song, and it's just pure gibberish! No real words in there at all! And guess what. Italian audiences loved it. I mean, it was a bop, so it was kind of his fault. But my point is, there was this guy out there singing complete nonsense...
*pans to Ax drinking a jar of olives with a small piece of PVC pipe like a boba tea*
Marco: so maybe there have been more Andalites on earth than we know about.
