Why Civil Engineers Are Switching To Another Field?
Why Civil Engineers are Switching to Another Field? India is a great supplier of engineers and churns 1.5 million engineers every year, but only 20% of them get the jobs. Why is it so, a company always looks for the best so where do they lack?
As we know most of the engineering students are shifting to another stream. What makes them do this and why is it difficult to get a job as a civil engineer?
Here are a few reasons which make it difficult to get a job:- 1) Low technical knowledge 2)Less industry-specific skills 3)Low decision-making skills 4)Poorly educated 5)Low leadership skills 6)Outdated syllabus 7)No focus on adding value and enhancing soft skills

Missions with Dazai and Chuuya always resulted in a thrilling adventure. There was never a time you'd look back on a mission you'd had with both and say to yourself, 'that was a bummer.'
You weren't supposed to work alongside them. Within the Port Mafia, Dazai and Chuuya were always to be assigned missions that were too dangerous for someone ordinary.
And, you? Well.
You possessed no ability. Your purpose in the Port Mafia was your background - your status.
Heiress to your father's wealth in your homeland of France, your parents were part of a certain elite group that made you a walking target should you venture without protection.
That is why you were always thrown as the bait.
With all respects to Dazai, that is, who introduced to Mori the idea of having you be the helpless, dumb damsel skipping merrily into danger.
You weren't happy about this arrangement and that was made clear by your sulking.
" Oh, look at me, I am an unattended woman. "
You sluggishly wandered around the dark halls of the abandoned facility, your voice just barely loud enough for the walls to echo your sarcastic jokes.
" This is serioouuuss! " The earpiece cleverly hidden in your ear crackled into life, you knew the voice belonged to Dazai. " Been chasing this guy for ages now, I think he's got some sort of phasing ability. He might appear outta no where, but Chuuya's trailing behind you, so don't worry. "
As if it could ease your nerves, it only made you regret agreeing to this further. " Great. I'm comforted. " You replied in a snarky manner.
You were dressed in lavish clothing that not even your pompous, arrogant mother would ever think of wearing. You seemed to have a distaste for reminders of the generational wealth you possess and opt to distance yourself from a 'royal' life. It proved impossible when it was the only thing that allowed you to maintain a job in the Port Mafia.
The gloomy and cold atmosphere left you hugging yourself for warmth as you traversed through complicated corridors. Although your earpiece was not connected to Chuuya's, you worried that you were walking off-course and/or Chuuya knew where you are meant to go, but could not blow his cover to correct your stupid mistakes.
Chuuya did a pretty good job at staying hidden. You could not hear a thing other than the clacking of your heels against metal flooring. " Ohh.. I'm so scared. " You pitched your voice higher, this being your best shot at luring out whoever it is the PM were after. You weren't taking this seriously, that was clear to both Dazai and Chuuya.
This wasn't the first mission you three were together, there were a few others that you'd two go through but this was the first time you were thrown a seal to a shark.
Dazai was elsewhere in the building, you weren't sure where and he gave no information when asked. With the affirmation Chuuya had your back, you knew that there was nothing to fear.
You would have appreciated some communication on his end though. You figured it must be his unnatural shyness towards you that made it hard for him to be too forward.
You easily noticed how his behaviour would change around you. And with Dazai around? Oh, boy.
Even if you could be a little air-headed sometimes, you weren't dumb to the hints in front of you.
From the day you were rescued from captivity - a story for another day - Chuuya stood out. You find it funny how he'd be unable to face you for more than a minute before looking away hurriedly. It sprung your new-found hobby of teasing Chuuya whenever you could. Of course Dazai picked up on it pretty soon after too and Chuuya has not known peace since. You couldn't help it! You weren't to blame! You giggled to yourself reminding yourself of Chuuya's little crush, fingers intertwined behind your back loosely, your back straightening from its previous hunched-over stance.
Feeling sudden confidence surge through your veins with the recollection of memories with Chuuya, you were just about to turn on your heel to address the gravity manipulator until a hand grabbed you from behind - before you had the chance to see who it was, you felt cold metal press against your temple that made you freeze up.
In front of you, Chuuya had finally revealed himself, but he too was stood as still as stone.
" Kill me 'n the girl goes too. "
They have never let it get THIS bad. Not ever have you ever even been in the hold or this close to an enemy, and here you were at gunpoint, something that was not planned.
You didn't dare break eye contact from Chuuya. This might just be your final moment. With great trust in Chuuya and Dazai's ability, you weren't sure how they'd proceed with this.
Chuuya might end up being the last thing you see. The look of fear on his face too didn't ease your nerves. They were not in the position to bargain. And funnily enough, you blamed yourself for this.
" Fine, yeah. Let her go. " Chuuya stood up from his mid-offensive position and dropped whatever weapon he had. A gun and a small knife for close-combat, he raised his arms above his head to firmly show his surrender. The hand that was previously on your lower hip raised to roughly cover your mouth, a gloved palm shoving itself in your face and that broke you down immediately. Fear took over and your knees went weak with pure fright, yet the man behind you had his fingers digging into the flesh of your cheek with such a harsh grab that it kept you standing up-right, the barrel of the gun pressing in deeper to your skull, sure to leave indents - that is if you weren't just shot dead. Then an indent would be the less of your worries.
With your back pressed against the chest of the stranger, you could feel the vibration of his confident voice as he spoke loudly, " Don't take me for a fool, Nakahara. You could easily use that ability of yours. " And that was true. You actually forgot about Chuuya's ability. Your mind was too foggy at the moment.
It was the first time you saw Chuuya Nakahara look uncertain in whether this mission would end well or not. He smiled insecurely as he let out a gruff exhale, " Wouldn't do that if I wanted her to live, yeah? Now let her go. "
Even if he kept grinning, you could see how the sweat dripped from his face even through your own teary eyes. With the palm pressing over your mouth and nose, it was difficult to breathe and steady your heart that was already beating fast enough as it is.
" Hmm.. " The gun was lowered slowly, caressing down your cheek and to your chest before being positioned at the pit of your stomach, " But do I really wanna? "
You began to squeal in protest, unable to accept your helplessness but it seemed someone else did your job of retaliation for you.
In the blink of an eye, the man holding you captive fell backwards and consequentially dragged you down with him but ended up tripping you up a bit further. You fell with your head banging on the hard floor, your captors hand slipping from your mouth and allowing you to briefly ‎gasp for air. The clattering of a gun was heard somewhere yet you were too dazed to properly do anything at this point.
The last thing you remember was the feeling of being raised from your underarms and distant shouting.
Tumblr media
" -as if she'd be able to do-"
" No, you shut up! You could've done something easily. "
" It was your idea to use her as a fuckin' pawn, don't twist this. "
" Uhh! I'm sowwy~! I thought Chuuya Naka-fucking-hara had some balls to intercept~! "
" Zip it! She's waking up! "
Groggily, you stared at the two of them, sitting opposite each-other on the end of your bed. Judging by the bright white, you were most likely in the infirmary.
Chuuya was the first to lean in, he must have not noticed his hand coming to rest over yours which were folded nearly over your stomach. He had hope in his eyes, contrasting with the emotion you last remember them in. " Y/N? " He called out to you, taking a glimpse at the steady heart monitor.
Testing your voice, you let out a low hum before croaking out a meek, " Heya. "
Dazai was the first to break a laugh at your first words. His and Chuuya's eyes were soft.
" Don't look cute, I'm pissed at you both. " You huffed, turning your head to the side, avoiding them both.
Chuuya held your hand a little tighter, he understood if you decided to be unhappy with him. " Sorry, Y/N. I really fucked that up. Shit, I just didn't know what to do. " He explained himself with such compassion you were urged to look at him again. " I guess I discovered seein' you like that. Uh. In trouble and stuff, makes me seize up badly. "
From the corner of your eye you saw Dazai huff before standing up, but Chuuya held onto your attention as he continued speaking tenderly to you, " I thought that this loser would have planned a set-up and knew that was gonna happen but. It took too long. I realised last second he didn't plan shit. "
" Hey! Don't be so rude, Chuuya~ Besides, if it weren't for me, precious princess would've been shot. " You saw Dazai reach into his back pocket for something you couldn't quite recognise yet.
" Oh, that was you, Dazai? " You asked, alluding to the sudden drop during the action. " Yuup~ And y'know what the best part is? "
You quirked a brow and stole a shared glance from Chuuya. Dazai was unexpectable.
" Since me and Chuuya are so nice.. "
So Chuuya was in on this too?
Dazai paused his sentence and hummed in a baby-ish voice. " Kill me and the girl goes too! " He mocked, earning him an earnest giggle from you. " That wasn't funny, Dazai! I was scared! " You retorted, but still couldn't wipe that smile off of your face.
" Sorry, sorry. But, like he wanted, he's not dead. "
Dazai held the object he had pulled out in front of him. Bloodied priars.
" Technically death caused by unattended injuries is not 'killing him' on MY end, isn't that right, Chuuya? "
Chuuya nod his head before you.
They have that man locked in a fucking basement.

F1 Explains – 2 November 2023 – Notes/Summary
Another round of Qs and As with Bernie & Lawrence! This one is somewhat technical, so read on if you want to learn about racing lines, tracks gaining grip, what the Paddock Club is (and how much it costs to get access), car design philosophies, and, most importantly for our little corner of the internet, the similarities between F1 drivers and pregnant people...
As before, feel free to use this information when writing fic, but also remember that you don’t have to have all of your facts absolutely perfectly correct! It’s called fiction for a reason!
F1 Explains – 2 November 2023 Quick-fire questions with Bernie Collins & Lawrence Barretto
Q: What is the racing line? How do the drivers know what it is? Is there more than one [on a given track]? Does it change at all? How important is it that the drivers stick to it?
A: Essentially, the racing line is the fastest route around a track. You can often see it develop as rubber is laid down during practices etc. because it will look darker than the surrounding asphalt. There can be slight variations in the race line based on if drivers take corners with more of a U shape or more of a V shape, and drivers will often purposely leave the race line to set up for an overtake. Usually it’s best to stick to the race line, except during wet conditions because then the rubber that has already been laid down is pretty slippery.
Q: How do race courses gain grip throughout practice sessions and during a race? Are the courses swept or otherwise cleaned before race weekend and between sessions during a weekend?
A: This varies a lot depending on the track. Street circuits like Monaco don’t have any inherent grip levels built up, they’re cleaned throughout the year by road sweepers, sometimes they are even opened back up during the race weekend for civilian traffic. Depending on the weekend, if there are other race series happening (e.g. F2, F1 Academy, etc.) that can help build up the grip on the roads. A little bit of discussion in here about what “laying rubber down” means. Some tracks are just swept of major debris, some are cleaned more abrasively. Some dedicated race tracks host many types of races throughout the year (e.g. COTA) whereas others (e.g. Baku) only ever have the F1 race weekend each year.
Q: Why do the drivers drink from the long bendy straws?
A: The long bendy straws are necessary for the drivers to be able to drink when they have their helmets on, and it’s more efficient to just use the same drinks container the whole time. This also helps the trainers monitor exactly how much of the hydration drinks the drivers are drinking without worrying about evaporation or spills, and helps keep the drinks at the correct temperatures. There is also an actual discussion of how these are very similar to the large water jugs with long straws that hospitals (at least in the US) give to folks who are about to/have just given birth. One of the co-hosts says, of the drivers, “so it’s easier for them to drink with those bendy straws, and they might be pregnant,” and “there are more similarities, when you think about it, between Formula 1 drivers and pregnant people, than you might think…” DO WITH THAT AS YOU WISH, FIC WRITERS.
Q: What actually goes on in the hospitality suites? What is the food like? How do you pay? Who’s in there?
A: The F1 Paddock Club is the highest-end suite and entry costs between $5000 - $9000 per person. There’s another level below that which is slightly cheaper. Each team also has their own hospitality suite. In all of them, there’s an endless supply of very nice food and drinks (sometimes even dedicated pastry chefs), and you don’t pay per item, it’s all covered by your entry. There are lots of special guests as well as clients, potential future partners/sponsors, etc. Sometimes press are invited in as well. The catering teams also look after the crew of their team, most of whom eat all of their meals at the track all weekend.
Q: How can one get a job as an F1 Strategist? Do teams offer internships?
A: Most strategists have done a mathematics- or engineering-related degree. All of the teams do internships and a lot of them have graduate schemes for folks who have just graduated. Most teams have 50-60 people working on strategy.
Q: What’s the deal with #1 and #2 drivers?
A: Teams often don’t like to admit they have a #1 and #2 driver unless it’s the best strategy to win races or the championships, by having the second driver help out the first driver. A lot of times it is just a matter of which driver performs better over the season. Usually, the best way to get the best out of both drivers is to let them try to outrace their teammate. Whichever driver is ahead after qualifying or the first stint in the race will usually get priority for pit stops, etc. The teams are fundamentally only concerned with team points, not individual driver points. Drivers have agreed to the team’s rules about priorities in advance, even if they do end up arguing about strategy on the radio during the race.
Q: How does the extra point for fastest lap work?
A: A driver can only get that extra point for the fastest lap if they finish in the top ten of the race. There can be some strategy in this as well, e.g. if a driver wants to show their team they do in fact have good pace and should be allowed to pass their teammate. Or, if two drivers are in a close battle for the WDC, and one driver knows they aren’t going to finish in the top ten, they might still pit for fresh tires right at the end of the race and attempt to set the fastest lap, knowing that even though they won’t get the point for it, they will keep their competition from getting that extra point.
Q: How much technology/research from one year’s car can be brought from one year to the next?
A: Even if there are no major regulation changes, teams spend a lot of the year (not just the off-season) working on improving their car. A lot of work is done over the off-season break, though, and sometimes one team will make a massive leap forward in just that off-season development, whereas other teams have to spend the first half of the season still working and bringing upgrades to attempt to catch up. Also, there are often changes from year to year, especially when it comes to the tire compounds that Pirelli provides for that year. (And sometimes there are major regulation changes that must be incorporated into the next year’s car.) Teams can also choose different philosophies in how they design their cars, e.g. whether they want them to be more “slippery” and better on long straights vs. have more downforce which makes them better (faster) at circuits with a lot of corners.

Do you create? What? Why?
mmmmm uh haha um. Sort of, sometimes.. I like drawing and stuff but I've been taking this course that has eaten up a lot of my free time so i haven't done any art stuff in a while. Should be all done with it really soon though so hopefully it won't be long before i can get back to it/a good routine. I had this whole art renaissance at the end of 2023/beg. 2024 where I just had this like epiphany re art and was super motivated and enjoying it, so hopefully i can back to that. But yeah I like the process of drawing. I mostly draw from observation, and i love how it gets me to really look at what I'm seeing and appreciate all the details. And i enjoy the puzzle of it, of figuring out how to represent the subject on the page. The epiphany i had was literally just basic art advice you hear everywhere lol but i had spent months in this rut of focusing on the outcome/end product of a drawing and getting really frustrated and upset with what i was doing. Eventually i like clawed myself to the realization that that was the problem and I need to make art solely for the love of the process. It's hard bc it's so easy to want to chase the feeling you get when you make something you're happy with, but I found i would start a drawing and want every line I put down to be immediately gorgeous, and i just a) don't have the skill for that and b) was putting so much energy into wanting it look good that I wasn't focusing on any of the principles or techniques that actually help build a drawing that looks good. Bad all around lol. But also, I can flip through that sketchbook and see evidence that i was learning things, even despite all that. So yeah. Generated a lot of motivation and good feelings.
Thank you for the qs! I wasn't expecting to actually receive any let alone so quickly haha but i love the opportunity to ramble :)

Andis Qs >:)
1. How old is he?
2. How tall is he?
3. Does he have any hobbies?
4. How much of his childhood does he remember? What is his favourite or most significant memory?
hiiii :D tysm for the ask!!!
I'd say he's like whatever the half-elf equivalent of late 20s is, I don't quite know the translation scale
Around 5'8, 5'9 perhaps?
He does have hobbies! He's the drummer in a band, they play in various taverns on weekends and whatnot, mostly just cover stuff. Also I think he can cook but not very well.
I think he can remember a good amount of his childhood, before he was sent away at least. One of his favorite memories is from when he was around six, he and his cousins were just messing around in the wilderness and they stumbled into a fairy circle and got teleported to some other area of the woods they'd never been in before and of course being dumb kids they were convinced they were gonna have to survive alone out there and tried to build a shelter out of fallen sticks and mud. Then of course they realized the teleportation worked both ways and it became a sort of secret hideout of theirs. Andis hasn't been back there in years but he thinks about it sometimes and wonders if his cousins still hang out there.

For the shipping meme!
4. One physical aspect of a ship that always gets you
33. How would they react to long distance?
38. Describe their ideal home.
(I admittedly chose these with HitsuHina in mind but would very much love to hear about any/all of your other Bleach ships for all/some of these Qs, especially ones you don't get to talk about too often!)
Get to know my shipping preferences & ships!
4. One physical aspect of a ship that always gets you
Complementary character designs for sure! Just look at most of the ships I love; they maybe have similarities in personality or they may even have opposite personalities but a few traits/experiences in common but they usually have very different character designs. It's things like height differences (byhisa), colour schemes where one has darker colours while the other has lighter ones (hitsuhina, rivetra, ginran, todomomo), or one having a softer design and the other a harsher design (renruki). Just look at these designs:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
33. How would they react to long distance?
Toshiro and Momo handle it well, although it does depend on how long they'll be away from each other. We've seen in canon Toshiro wasn't a fan of Momo going to the Academy; it's clear he missed her when she didn't come see him during her breaks. This is still somewhat the case in the main series and beyond. He handles it better though, as he's become used to not seeing her for long stretches of time due to their respective duties occupying most of their time. It didn't stop him from missing Momo, but his mind isn't frequently occupied with wondering what she's doing. If she's awya on a long mission, he'll want to contact her at some point. If she's on a dangerous mission, he worries for her and the protective part of him wants nothign more than to rush to where she is and fight alongside her. However, he knows she's a capable fighter and that Shinji or whoever is with her will look out for her.
Momo handles it better, knowing she will see Toshiro again whenever they get the chance to see each other. However, if it's a dangerous mission or a long mission, she does worry about him every day until he gets back. For long missions, she texts him every second day, either to check on him or give him a random update about something.
While on missions to the World of the Living, the two communicate through texts and maybe a phonecall after a few days apart. These calls can last for more than an hour, and it's in moments like this where they realise how much they miss each other.
38. Describe their ideal home.
I've already done so for Hitsuhina in this fic, so I'll do something for Ichihime. They actually have different views on what they want in a house. For Ichigo, he's content with something simple, like the house he's always grown up in. If anything the only thing he wishes his house can have is a backyard for Kazui to play in.
Orihime has a creative mind, especially in the first arc of the story. While her ideas aren't as outlandish as before, she still gets ideas to add different rooms for strange purposes, like a room where she can build a robot in case they were need one for some reason.
In their current house, Ichigo left most of the decorating to Orihime, trusting her judgement for what housewares to buy and what colour to paint the rooms. He gets a say of course, but they tend to have similar ideas for what they want their house to look and feel like. They're also aware of the, uh...unexpected house guests from other worlds. It's because of this they always have one or two guest rooms available.
Their main concern having a safe and comfortable house for Kazui, and to have alters for both Masaki and Sora. Whenever Kazui prays to his relatives or gives them an offering, Orihime will tell him about his uncle while Ichigo tells him about his grandmother. As he gets older, they tell him the sadder stories about his relatives
Thanks for sending these in! :D

Hello Squash!!! First of all I'm a big fan of your work because it has allowed me to discover a ton of fics and meet new people ❤️❤️ second i have a small question, what do you think makes a good comment? like okay i read a chapter-fic-series and i really wanna say something to the author to convey how amazing their work is but all I can think about is -KEYSMASH- lmao I honestly do not know how else to explain the sheer happiness and delight some fics make me feel lol pls help me
Hiya!!!!! <3 <3
I am the worst commenter! But I love commenting now. It was something I really hated/stressed about forever.
So! I was lurking for like two decades and didn't comment on anything. I mean sometimes I commented on LJ or AO3 with anon but I was in general feeling really underqualified because it felt like people wrote really insightful comments and a lot of the commenters were writers themselves.
Pandemic got lots of people to do crazy things at home. Like baking bread or learning the ukulele or whatever! For whatever reason my crazy thing was commenting on fic! I did a whole list of Qs before commenting on fic like a crazy person because I was that insecure and stressed out. Does the author reply to comments? Are they replying to keysmash comments? Are they really encouraging in the comments? Generally I went for commenting on authors who were good at building up commenting confidence or like authors who were inactive in fandom because it felt zero stakes. I know. Overthinking it.
But my comments kind of moved from Keysmash which went for some months -> Emojis phase -> Actually quoting lines from the fic I liked for some reason -> reading other comments and finding some common vibe I also liked -> doing real comments.
I now have a default comment style! For fics I really love I copy paste lines from the fic and put lots of exclamation marks about why I loved stuff. "It's peak angst and I love it! OMG Snape + glove kink is so fire for real!" For other fics I do emojis because my comment max is around 1 comment/week because I get super tired after writing one of the copy paste ones. I am not that good at commenting on everything I am reading honestly. But I am keeping a list because I can do it during the next pandemic lockdown.
Also! Finding authors who respond great helped me a lot with my insecurity in general. If I get a reply for like 1 in 10 comments that's great for my confidence!
I love reading comments! Other people's comments have a lot of unique things which I really like reading/vibing with. Of course I can't write a comment like that but it's fun to read detailed meta comments. These are 5 of my fav comments by other folks on some fics I really love!
Some Tumblrs like longlivefeedback also have some guides. But generally I don't vibe with those because they are often written by writers expecting everybody to have the writer mindset. Which is not how it works. But lots of good ideas on those blogs!
Also!!! @usagifitz Good on you on meeting new people and getting to find new fics <3 <3 Lots of love. Hope you get to have loads of fun in fandom in 2023!!!

How do you approach writing? Do you have one process you use for every work, or does it differ for each project?
What's your favorite work you've written/are working on?
Got any fic ideas/project ideas stuck in your brain that you're excited about, but haven't put out there yet? If yes, would you want to share them?
Congrats on reaching 100!
1. How do you approach writing? Do you have one process you use for every work, or does it differ for each project?
I am a pantser through and through, and let me tell you—it is very hard for me to be any kind of plotter. (For those not in the know, a pantser is a writer who writes "by the seat of their pants," meaning they just start writing without a set plan in place.)
Generally speaking, my writing process is: get an idea that usually comes in the form of a single scene or event, write that scene or event, mull over whether that could turn into a full story, come up with more scenarios/conflicts and write those too, try to put those scenes in an order that makes sense. This is how I've been writing Don't Commit and it's... kind of a struggle tbh. I did try plotting for Gan Doesn't Die At the End, and that has certainly helped, though my outline is still pretty vague. @waterho-writes and I have completely plotted out Anger is but Passion together, but she honestly did most of the heavy lifting there, which I'm very grateful for. Having that outline to write from is hugely helpful.
Once I finish Don't Commit, I'm going to do my best to plot everything else I write because I know I'll be less stressed for it. Filling in the gaps between what I have posted and the ending (which is pretty much fully written) has been quite the struggle for me, and I'd rather not do that for any other long fics in the future tbh.
2. What's your favorite work you've written/are working on?
I think I have to say Don't Commit is my current favorite. Though it isn't the first fic idea I had, it's the first one I really started writing seriously, and I've put my entire soul into it. Sheik is a self-insert in a lot of ways, and including the world building I've put into this fic, there's a lot for me to be proud of.
3. Got any fic ideas/project ideas stuck in your brain that you're excited about, but haven't put out there yet? If yes, would you want to share them?
Oh I have SO MANY ideas for fics. I have a lot of docs that are just like, one scene or one chapter that are waiting for me to get started on. Of course, there's only so much I can work on at once lol.
One idea that really gets me going is my Fierce Deity/Ghirahim concept. I posted My Hero, My God, which is my Fierce Deity origin headcanon and the very beginning of this fic idea, but I intend to fully flesh it out at some point. I've always been interested in what the Surface is like pre- and post-Skyward Sword, especially what happens between the Demon War and our beloved Link going on an adventure to save his best friend. I haven't yet decided whether I want the fic to be short and spicy or long and slow burn-y. Whatever the case, it's going to involve a hefty amount of world building and lore exploring, which is something I especially love doing in the Zelda universe.
Thanks for the congrats and the Qs!

what's your favourite thing about jgy as a character? 🫖
honestly there is so much i love about him as a character that it's hard to put it succinctly into writing but i shall try my best!!!!!! (and caveat of course that i am mainly going off of what cql i have seen and the various metas i have read about the canon overall.)
i think my first point of love for him is how great his propensity for love is!!! while it does lead to him getting hurt, i think it's also a very important part of his character—a lot of the things he does are to help those he loves/to shield them from harm (be it personal love, such as for his mother (in building the guanyin temple so she is honoured in death in the way he wasn't able to ensure in her life), jl, lxc, qs, nhs, etc, or his love for the common people—because yes, i would say the care required to want to improve the lives of the average person, say via the watchtowers, does require love at least in some measure), and i personally find that a very compelling and engaging trait.
secondly—his determination! in every way possible, he started off at a shockingly large disadvantage to those around him, both from the circumstances of his birth and upbringing to the way that those around him treated him, but despite that, he is able to become someone who is, if not loved by the jianghu, at least seen as competent (i would say the common people probably do respect him for the changes he makes in his time as the jin regent(? not sure if this is the term that is ever used in canon but given that it's clear jgy is leading the jin in jl's place while he's too young to do so himself it is the best one i can come up with)—the watchtowers, yes, but also how he changed the expectations and standards within the jin sect, like making it clear that anyone who accepts bribes will not be tolerated (i don't have the sources for this one on hand but i'm fairly certain there's evidence on your blog somewhere).) the fact that he was able to rise to the position he eventually held is not coincidence—it took careful application of his wits, the skills he honed, and the relationships he made and risks he took along the way.
and of course, i absolutely adore his dynamic with lxc—obviously this isn't a jgy-only topic, there's two pieces in play here, etc etc, but if i don't talk about it i feel that i'm doing him a disservice, especially with how much he himself clearly values lxc's companionship, regard, respect, and affection. i don't think that, given canon, it would ever have been possible for them to be anything "more" than what they were, but i think that, in those years in between the end of the sunshot campaign and the final stand at the guanyin temple, they found happiness in each other, and even if that happiness was finite, i believe it is incredibly important, especially given the actual real importance of their presences in each others' lives (lxc being one of the first people to treat him as an equal, jgy sheltering lxc during sunshot, their mutual parts in the downfall of wrh through jgy's spying—i think it's safe to say that if either of them were anyone else, it would not have worked—, jgy's support in the rebuilding of the cloud recesses and lxc's relationship and sworn brotherhood with jgy realistically going a long way to legitimise jgy in the eyes of the gentry, just to name a few).
finally, i love him because he is small and i want happiness for him forever and nothing bad to happen. that is all your honour, thank you for your time.

Sorry to drop this to your inbox impromptu i didnt know who else? Would be interested? Esp weeks after the LN finale?
But removal of fundy from las nevadas narrative in the finale made it a simple business arrangment rather than what it was at the ugliest, Which was a political cult
One can argue slime factory is an apparatus of this but the fact Foolish was there because he feared he had no legacy and Fundy was there because he thought no one would mourn him Is just
Gone?
Finale sort of resets him back to the start of Las Nevadas arc, he is in search of assets once again.
All of the sentiment Charlie expressed could also been expressed by Fundy who was lovebombed, reshaped then chained to Las Nevadas by a person he assumed was a friend
And although Qs worldview is chastisized he doesnt. Really get the reprecussions of manipulating people under him. I would describe similar to How Techno had to abandon his chance at a nonviolent life but he didnt suffer in the long run. OF COURSE Q is worse off losing a canon life but he still has Las Nevadas and At Least Foolish if not also Fundy (if he lied to Wil) under his alliance.
These of course could be expanded but the fact finale wouldnt even have fundy speak or regard him as an asset, OR SHOW HORSEMEN is.
Telling.
Don't worry, I love getting long and insightful asks like this :)
This is easily the greatest weakness of the Las Nevadas arc as a whole; while we get some really incredible cinematic moments, not having more "casual" streams in between them means that these movies all feel slightly less than the sum of their parts to different extents. And while Las Nevadas 5 was technically and visually near-pristine, it suffered from this blunting effect more than any other episode. Any character development c!Quackity might have had is hard to gauge for certain, since we've literally seen nothing but a surprised Pikachu face, a handful of apology letters, and a "right, that's over with." Is this new, rebuilt version of Las Nevadas going to be a healthier place? We don't know yet. And though it pains me, we have very little reason to believe so right now.
I haven't gone into it as much as some of my other quibbles, but the lack of spotlight on the other members of the country was another thing I found underwhelming about the finale. Hell, I think the only reference to c!Fundy was a throwaway line about how his gambling addiction alone couldn't fund Las Nevadas's infrastructure, which... hm.
It's especially strange considering that aside from c!Tubbo (who, as much as I would have loved to see him more, could have distanced himself after Ho16), c!Fundy is the only member of Las Nevadas that c!Quackity had a real friendship with prior to this arc. Like you say, he would have been a natural choice to express many of the sentiments that c!Charlie laid out, because he's seen so much of c!Q's behavior play out before - with c!Schlatt, with c!Wilbur, with c!Dream. Perhaps he can't attest to the "become like me!" thing, but that whole "born again" spiel... if he was supposed to be born again, why does he feel like he just replaced nothing with more nothing? It's that "political cult" you talked about, which he was hit by more overtly than anyone else.
A single scene couldn't have completely fixed the emotional disconnect, but here's the proposal I've discussed here time and time again: show us the conversation between c!Quackity and c!Fundy where he leaves Las Nevadas behind. Now, we can place this moment sometime before c!Quackity's second death. Make him confront the reality of his actions and how badly his manipulation has hurt those he enlisted, even someone like c!Fundy, whose recruitment was "just" harsh words mixed with lovebombing. And then, make that near-realization fail, to build tension for the grander takedown later.
The hardest thing to swallow about this potential scene is that on the precipice of his true narrative turning point, c!Quackity would likely need to double down and get vicious. Perhaps he tells c!Fundy everything the poor guy feared hearing; that he would be nothing if he left, that this lack of loyalty is why nobody stays with him, that maybe he truly did make everything he touched worse. Go in hard on the projected self-hatred. But, crucially, c!Quackity cannot deliver on his threat to execute him. And when c!Fundy call his bluff and walks away, he is shaken. He is afraid. He doubts. (And then he rips that doubt apart and goes into the final days of this life with furious abandon.)
This also gives c!Fundy a chance to lash out at an authority figure who, despite their best intentions and big promises, used him for an ego project and then ignored him. He finally gets a moment where he can stand up for himself, only for that moment to leave him worse off than ever before. It offers more context for the dire, suicidal state he was in during Into Pogtopia. And it grants him a well-deserved spotlight, while also underscoring the tragedy of his arc: that no matter how hard he tries, c!Fundy's efforts to make things better are always ignored.
Anyway. This scene is so vivid in my mind, and I will pretend it existed from now on. I'm so sorry to the Mexican Dream and Ranboo shenanigan lovers, but I have my priorities all laid out.
... I really just need to write the dang thing, don't I? Or maybe act it out. Anybody want to RP and film this in Minecraft with me? Anyone at all?

for the Whump Asks: 2, 19, 20
Oooooh! More Whump Ask questions!!! Thank you!!!
2. What is your favourite type of whump?
I think I'd have to give the top kudos to bondage. It just enriches whatever kind of whump it's used alongside. It's like the spice rack of whumpage. A little pinch of this, a little dash of that... makes whatever dish it's added to that much better! And sometimes it's so good, you don't even need the food, just the spice...
Tumblr media
Other than that... I have a weakness for humiliating scenarios. And M/m non-con. And asylum settings. Straitjackets. Oh, that's bondage again, innit... Hmm. 😈
19. Opinion on all hurt no comfort?
I mean... I like it. There's not really any kind of whump I flat-out don't like. But I do feel kinda stiffed when the scene ends and there's no rescue or aftercare. It kinda feels like a tease. Like all this foreplay building up to the main event... and then it's just over.
A lot of times, I use whump scenes and fics and art and gifs and what-have-you as fodder for my own imaginings and personal fics. Sometimes when I read a really good all-hurt-no-comfort fic, I'll jump right into my own text app and just... continue it, but with my own characters/scenario, and give it the resolution I'm craving. I'd never share anything I wrote that way, of course, but I don't share most of my writing anyway, so it's no biggie.
20. Opinion on little hurt all comfort?
You know... Years ago, I probably would've said I didn't have time for this kind of whump, because the hurt is SO important to the overall scenario... but as of late, I've been finding myself doing a lot of glossing over the hurt portions when re-reading and writing. It's the rescues and the comfort scenes I keep going back to. And I've found that giving myself "permission" to just start at a rescue and kind of work backwards and forwards at the same time, letting the details of the hurting come through in whatever aftercare is needed and the Whumpee's own admissions... I'm really kind of enjoying working that way. I'm still not sure if it's just the enjoyment of something new or if I'm genuinely preferring this over a more linear approach, but I'm definitely enjoying it for now.
That said, of course, there has to be some hurt. Like, you can get away with all-hurt-no-comfort, but I don't think no-hurt-all-comfort would work. You gotta at least find out what happened to the Whumpee, in some degree of detail, to really enjoy any of it. At least it feels that way to me...
Thank you again for the Qs!!! Love you!!!

Hi, The plexiglass anon here. First of all, I'm sorry I forgot to mention that I wrote it for you and @foxilayde took, and I sent this poem to her as well. I apologize for not mentioning that before 😶
And now, OMG SUCH DETAILED REVIEW AND SUCH KIND WORDS!!! 🥺🥺🥺🥺 My heart's literally swollen ♥♥ THANK YOU SO MUCH 😭
Of course you can print and save it whatever way you want! My name is "Sanchaita" (It's a feminine term for "collection" in my native language. Also it's a famous book written by Rabindranath Tagore, the great Poet!) in case you want to save the poet's/writer's name as well??? (By no stretch of imagination do I claim myself to be a poet though 😅)
Also, if you don't mind, may I know a few questions you wanted to ask him about his process and how his mind works? I'm really really curious!
Lastly, having my fingers crossed with the hope that someday I get to meet him in person too even though I haven't the faintest idea about what I would ACTUALLY DO if I do really meet him 🙈
Love you!❤
Absolutely I wanna save your name alongside the poem! ☺️🧡 (What a beautiful name, Sanchaita, and I love that you also explained the meaning to me 🙏 Thank you for sharing with me!!)
And honey, you are a poet, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. You are writing poems, and that makes you a poet! Besides, you definitely have a way with words. I hope you write lots more (and if there is anywhere to read more of your works please lmk as I would love to experience more of your writing) 😀 Such an honour that you wrote something with me and Danny in mind!
Oh and please don’t apologise - I love that this poem was for me and Danny 🧡🥹 It’s only right that it is shared tbh, since I couldn’t possibly think about the Oscar experience without thinking of Danny too 🧡☺️
For Qs I’d like to ask Oscar, omg, there are so many. Well, less questions, but just more things I’d love to have a good chat about, you know? Theatre stuff, Nathan Bateman stuff (lol), how he chooses scripts, recurring themes in his work, writers he admires, I want to Say Things about Card Counter, his character-building process etc. But this was going to be my Panel question, if I’d gotten anywhere near the microphone. (I did not 😝.) “You’re inviting all of the characters you’ve ever played to a dinner party. Who’s top of the list, and who’s not getting an invite?” Thought it would be a fun Q, but also that it would give some insights into who he personally would like / be intrigued by / want to spend time with (or not) and why.
I also want to know: Which does he find more enjoyable and why a) acting opposite a co-star b) acting opposite himself? (Him playing opposite himself in MK was so spectacular!!!) though I feel like he’d just say “myself, obviously”, and then move on 🤣🤣🤣🤣
(I do also probably have a million Qs about Nathan Bateman 😅, but I’d want to watch the film with him and pause it every 5 seconds and be like: “So, Oscar. Tell me about…” 🤣)
Thanks so much again for the beautiful poem, and also for indulging me and asking about the questions too 🧡
