Longplay of Robotech: Battlecry
0 notes
I don't know if anyone here knows what Robotech: Battlecry is, but I'm trying to see if I can make a song styled like the music from that game. I only really have a short intro so far though, everything else is a bit wonk so far, but the intro sounds pretty legit to me.

Cynical me wants to ignore the bit about a live-action movie, because everything always has a live-action movie “in the works.” I’ll believe it when I see trailers, but the description in this article is very promising!
From the announcement: there are plans for more toys, including high-end figures, apparel (retro t-shirts and custom flight jackets), other types of collectibles, a card game, a video game, plushies, and possibly a new animated series!
There is also talk of a brand new animated series in conjunction with Sony, although no further details are available at this time. "Sony has a lot of plans for Robotech," Yune said, "across a number of different media."
That is quite the ambitious announcement.
I’m so glad to see Tommy Yune’s name on this. I really liked what he did with the Robotech/Voltron cross-over comics, he knows what he’s doing.
Apropos of my previous post about toys and VLD, if Harmony Gold—of all the IP owners with infamous problems—can pull off a live-action movie, another video game, a new animated series with Sony, more toys (which I see more of the current wave of in stores than I ever did the VLD toys), a high-end figure line with Prime 1, different kinds of apparel, and plushies; then there is no damn excuse for why we don’t have VLD lion slippers yet.
I am going to have a heart attack if Harmony Gold resurrects their franchise better than WEP/DW did.
I’ve been meaning to post a review of the Robotech comics that are currently being published. They are fun, a slightly different take on the original story, and they are merging in original content that was added (e.g. characters from the Sentinels). It makes me wonder if we’ll see some of what was in the video games before they move onto the Robotech Masters and New Generation parts of the story.

Okay, I might be a little bit excited about this news. If I can get a skull squadron flight jacket and a Khyron plushie then my life will be complete.

🌻🌻🌻 💕
-the 2003 game Robotech: Battlecry has an in game "medal" called "tuna head" that references a scene from the original anime where the protagonist goes on an impromptu space walk to retrieve a giant tuna, but it gets stuck in the airlock and the head is severed from the body-I once made an alphabet for one of my custom races for my d&d game, and without knowing, used Russian characters for some letters even though prior to that I had never seen the Russian alphabet-There is an Indian weapon called the urumi that consists of many flat, wide, whip like strips of metal attached to a handle, and is so flexible that when not in use, it's worn around the user's waist like a belt, and the handle sticking from their side like a conventional sword 💕 Love you darling~
