so me and my friend were making like. character conceptual ideas for pkmn and we were thinking about inspirations from other characters and like. werewolves. AND THEN this concept came to mind:

paradox pkmn / human? kinda?? hybrid. basically he's a supernatural creature that can fluctuate between a pkmn form and human form. sorta like a werewolf !! yoinked via the time machine.

since i'm firmly of the mindset that legendary pkmn are of (albeit modest) multitude, rather than being more singular / exclusive like mythical pkmn, thinking that there was a small pack of zacians and zamazentas.

although i know the quote unquote true story of the first Darkest Day was the two youths / galarian kings partnering with zacian and zamazenta to defeat eternatus, i was thinking. what if. werewolves.

idk i just really like werewolves

and was thinking that the pack of zacian and zamazenta were petering away due to various reasons and this dude specifically was drawn in by the time machine (either sada's one or a malfunction of turo's one), maybe the grandson or great-grandson of one of the kings, and currently lives in modern times. there's probably been some weird time fuckery going on and he's lived in modern times for two years or roundabout there, currently an independent detective with a very, very good nose for sniffing out people, pkmn, and clues.

Käärijä crew Pokémon teams

Someone mentioned something about the Käärijä crew and their hypothetical Pkmn teams so here's my takes on that <3

Käärijä: Bulbasaur (obvious) Gengar (he just screams gen 1 boomer to me but Gengar also really fits with his stage persona) Galarian Zigzagoon (unhinged raccoon like creature, like owner like pet) Toxtricity (Pokémon that can rock n roll🤘) Aipom (mischievous little purple monkey) Wishiwashi (supposed to represent how Jere can turn on a dime from puppy to beast which is this Pokémon's whole gimmick)

Jukka: Krookodile (the sunglasses....) Umbreon (I just think Jukka would look sick with an Umbreon) Farigiraf (tall and weird)

Häärijä: Pikachu (obvious) Eiscue (strange little penguin creature with a block of ice for a head, huge Häärijä vibes) Eevee (it looks like Chelsea <"3)

Jaakko: Arrokuda (it kinda looks like him ngl) Loudred (HERRÄÄÄ!!!) Tadbulb (idk why but Jaakko screams like the type to have a cute lill guy on his team that feels totally out of place with the rest💖)

Allu: Electrode (that lill smirk is giving Allu energy) Murkrow (I could've gone for Chatot but aesthetically I think Murkrow is a better fit) Porygon2 (technological creature that fucks with his lill sound table)

AU Headcanons/General Ideas under the cut!

Different groups/societies have different relationships with different kinds of Pokémon, Dwarves having some of the best working relationships with Ground and Steel Types.

Honeydew, however, gained an appreciation for a variety of types after leaving his home and has gained a fairly well rounded team. At the time of meeting Xephos he has: Excadrill, Bibarel, Cutiefly, Morpeko, and Cufant.

Pokémon are only really native to Craftia(and to a lesser extent it’s moon, sun, and near by planets) and a few alternate dimensions(ie: The Nether), so aliens from far away planets like Xephos are completely unfamiliar with them.

After being introduced to What The Fuck A Pokémon Is and How The Fuck Does A Pokéball Work, Xephos catches and befriends the Minior he accidentally knocked out of orbit as he crashed into the planet.

Xephos is quick to learn things about this New Planet and it’s Strange Creatures and effectively makes his own Pokédex before Honeydew can even introduce the concept to him.

5. so technically there's an official playlist for them i haven't listened to yet- but the very first one that comes to mind is sundial by lemon demon thanks to this comic. since that's more of an overall siffrin song than specifically loop though (it's on my kin playlist too which has a lot of songs that overlap for obvious reasons), there's also upside down & inside out by ok go and you are getting a ramble on discord about my logic later tonight owo

12. okay okay hc time. so the thing is siffrins are not very subtle creatures right. so i think that just like odile was suspicious of the time loops before having enough info to really put the pieces together, she'd be suspicious as all hell of loop in a post-canon scenario where they join the family. while they'd still keep their façade up there'd be all these little things that she can and would notice. especially considering her own guilt that she expresses in act 6 for not pushing more to find out what was wrong she would confront them so quickly about it and they would not react well because in addition to pineapples siffrins are also extremely allergic to being vulnerable. also this odile may be a near perfect copy but not quite, not theirs, a complete stranger wearing her face- loop wouldn't go full act 5 but they'd definitely ramp up their playful exterior out of desperation and flee.

odile ends up the first to know (besides siffrin of course) after siffrin is 👀 at them and loop has to experience the other side of self to self therapy momence. self-recognition through the other (derogatory but necessary bc if siffrin has to start opening up to the others then so does loop it's not fair for only one siffrin to). maybe going the 'if you got to tell them about my time loops i get to tell them about this if you don't' type thing but not in like a manipulative or getting back at them way more a 'i know you'll never actually say it otherwise but you do have to come clean eventually' thing if that makes sense. bc how are they supposed to start healing from it if they won't even admit it

she takes it surprisingly well; she'd only push to a certain point (not as necessary to like with siffrin and his wish, the universe isn't breaking over it) and let loop know that while she may not be their odile they're still a part of the family all the same and that she's there for them too not just siffrin. may ramble more @ you later on discord about how i perceive loop's relationships with the rest of the group bc this question has me rotating them in my mind

23. not a favorite emotionally bc they deserve better but also ough. the moment of their old appearance shining through before the battle. and this pic when they talk about their second wish, stuck in it for so long that they just break and want someone to help them, for it all to stop… it's gonna kill me when i get their act 6 stuff. it's the emotional impact of it

about the pokemon thing, I just wanna say that it's canon and basic info that they actually don't mind battling and most even like doing so. i do kiinda...? get why you'd think of it as animal abuse ? and obv this isnt to say you should change your mind for your dni list because this isnt the point of this ask. in the end its just fiction and tbh I don't think pkmn fans are out there supporting animal abuse, nor do I think that's even the main take away of it

One of the people in my ex polycule was a pokemon fan. Let's call them A. It is important to note that at this time, I had not unlocked my kin memories of the joker and only knew I was Kermit. A knew I had memories of being a muppet, and yet they always dismissed my concerns that them engaging in pokemon contridicted their vegan, anti animal cruelty lifestyle because, according to them, "It's not like they're real animals who can feel things, Kermit. They're fictional." Oh. So, just because I'm a muppet, a fictional, nonreal animal, it's ok if I am abused. A claimed that's not what they meant. But I always knew they saw non-real creatures such as myself as fair game for abuse, which became clear after they and the other 2 in the polycule ganged up on me and dumped me for a fucking misunderstanding.

Now you are claiming that pokemon like being abused for entertainment. Probably because it's all they fucking know! Just like how before, I entertained the masses at the expense of my own free will, with a hand puppeting my mouth, and everyone saw it as fine because "muppets aren't really alive" and "he likes signing and telling jokes for a crowd anyway." How can you not tell yourself ypu "like" the only think you are allowed to do by your controller? Incedentally this is also why I am anti Jim Henson.

oh??? pokemon au???? please take this ask as an opportunity to share more (if you'd like!) >_>

using this as an opportunity to actually flesh out some plot as opposed to me just kind of mindlessly thinking about it earlier-- i have a tendency to always make pokemon AUs regardless of the fandom i'm in because despite not playing many pokemon games im so obsessed with spending hours just looking at different pokemon types and moves and creatures, so.

i think plot wise we would have the classic Phoenix protagonist Edgeworth rival situation, Gregory can be the scientist father who dies at some point idk. Maya is one of the Water (? I feel like) trainers who starts accompanying Phoenix around, etc. you find out later that Edgeworth's adoptive sister, Franziska's, dad is one of the elite 4 who also doubles as Bad Guy Group-- Phoenix ends up defeating him, it ends platonic but over time they both grow up, Edgeworth goes to a different region to become a gym leader and/or scientist and Phoenix becomes a local gym leader (who eventually falls from grace somehow, idk something happens and he stops caring so much about putting up a good fight? idk)

I think w/ the Apollo and co cast we have more liberty to get funky with it since a lot of that earlier stuff is kind of following the generic plots of most PKMN games. TBH I cannot conceive of any real plot here and this is where I start to get more focused on just thinking about the types everyone has.

if i WERE to write a PKMN AU it'd be a few assorted ficlets in that universe or just one one-shot exploring it. I think that Ema is definitely a scientist interested in studying the PKMN who happens to kind of roam around the regions and keeps meeting up with Apollo, first coincidentally but at some point tries purposefully to hang out with him b/c friendship. Klavier is def a rival but I do think it'd be kind of interesting if he was a former Elite 4 or something alongside Kristoph? dunno but I do think that'd be cool.

it's late so I'm just going to kind of skim through a few websites but I want to put some genuine thought into this with different stats and strengths and locations etc, but just basic perspective on types & pokemon

Athena NEEDS an Audino. Then, either a Gallade or Medicham, because I think her having a Psychic + Fighting is very in character. I only think she keeps a few around-- I don't totally know her role yet in terms of this but her and Apollo are besties, naturally, and her and Simon are familial. (Note: Athena with a Mimikyu would be kind of iconic).

For characterization purposes SOMEONE needs an Absol. I think it would be cool if Klavier had one personally but I also could be on board with Edgeworth having one, I think you could take that in a few different directions for both.

I don't totally have reasoning for this but I think Apollo with a Wooper/Quagsire is REALLY funny. As a whole I'd want to give him a fairly diverse range of Pokemon, but leaning towards some of the more common ones, if that makes sense? Think he has a Pidgey evolved along the way, probably a fire/fighting, ground, etc.

The Paynes are known for fighting as a duo and both of them always have a Weezing.

This is a little out there but hear me out: Phoenix with an Abra (evolved along), because it's well established that he's lucky as fuck.

Klavier has a Malamar because I like to think i'm funny. He might also have a Sneasel though. fuck, I didn't want to make him a Dark type that was exactly the opposite of my point but i keep finding really great dark types for him LOL

Simon with a Honchcrow, obviously. Also at least one Dragon type for symbolism, or something.

this is the most fun thing i've done all day but unfortunately i have to sleep early for school tmrw :/ if you have more thoughts sully pls share always such a delight to see u in my inbox and notifs makes me smile lots. sorry for rambling i just have a lot of feelings about pokemon

okay so this got a little long, plus I love the whole concept so I miiight make this a miniseries >:3c I kept Noivern but brought it down to three pokemon just to make it easier for me to keep track of.

Your head was pounding. You had been walking through a forest, next thing you know, you’re falling. Noivern had managed to keep you from slamming too hard to the ground, but you’d been knocked out. Houndoom’s pokeball fell, releasing the canine pokemon. She blinked, sniffing the air. Then noticed you, unconscious, on the ground. Noivern sat on your other side. She immediately growled at the man walking closer.

Someone dropping out of the sky. Of course that would happen in this city. And of course Libra got called to deal with it, but none of them could really expect the creatures guarding the person. The black horned… Dog? Was that a dog? And the… hell, that could only be described as a dragon.

“Seriously? Dragon? A dragon! Did Zapp spike my coffee?!”

Leo froze, staring at the person. At the creatures guarding them. How the dog growled and breathed fire at the police suit that came close. But not hitting, just a threat. He blinked.

“Dude what the fuck that looked like Seventh Hell. What, can animals use- WAIT HOLD ON THAT WAS A FUCKING HOUNDOOM-”

Lieutenant Law shouted at Klaus and Steven when they arrived. Yelling something about the person, at them to fix it. Detain the beasts.

“Um-” They looked at Leo. “Those are pokemon.”

The person woke up at that moment, sitting up. All eyes on them, watching as the beasts turned to nuzzle them. Pet the hound’s nose. Pull out two spheres, both turning to… red? And vanishing inside. They only then seemed to notice that they were surrounded.

“Hi?” They pushed themselves to stand up.

“On the one hand, I’m super excited to see pokemon. I love pokemon! But also… I’m just confused.”

“I’ve heard of pokemon. I don’t know much, but… It’s probably good it was just the dog attacking. From what Leo has told me, that dragon could have done serious damage.”

You were taken to Bradbury, where three of that group had followed. They talked between themselves. You couldn’t help wondering about what. Hm, now that you thought about it, Froslass would be worrying. You’d have to let her see that you were okay soon.

The check was quick, all things considered. The four of you sat outside, your pokemon sniffing around the grass. Froslass came up closer to you, the chill of her presence making the hair on your arms stand up a bit.

“I did some reading while doctor Estevez was checking on [Name]. We’re looking at three pretty powerful creatures. But they listen to them. I’m guessing either they have more we haven’t seen, or for some reason only had three on their person…”

“I’m mostly glad they’re uninjured, apart from a bump from the fall. I suppose the one that can fly caught them? Either way… Zed has mentioned reading. The creatures are powerful, undoubtedly dangerous if commanded to hurt people.”

Noivern pulled your attention from the quiet conversation you’d been having with the tallest one- Klaus. His neck fur stood on end, wings flared. About to use Hurricane.

“NOIVERN.” He quickly turned back to you. “No! Do not attack anything! We’re not battling!”

Like a petulant child, he rolled his eyes. Shrugged a wing and lowered back to the ground.

The three men blinked at you.

“Okay, so we discussed them joining Libra. At least until we figure out how to get them back to… Wherever. But… Damn. Commanding a dragon like that?”

If you're playing the guess my hobby game: I'd say you have an large interest in culture/language studies and computer science, a lesser interest in geography/environmental studies and enjoy both comedy and fantasy genres the most. A few shots in the dark: minor/urban survival, adventure story's and you still enjoy your childhood game/moves/books.

language studies is a minor interest, actually! when making the conlang for this fic, that was actually the most research ive done into languages. before, it was just kind of blank. i knew of a thing or 2 but not how it worked

i ffucking love fantasy just hit me with the sick ass magic systems and creachurs. comedy is great too i love it, i was watching a few monty python clips yesterday. ive only watched a few clips of monty python in total actually, i should sit down and actually watch it mostly in full. been several years overdue for that one

Connected Worlds (Crackship Fanfiction)

In a world of Monsters and creatures known as Pokemon… There were many kinds of people; --Profound Hunters: hunters that still hang on to the olden days of all magical creatures being their enemy and hunting everything with little to no other thoughts about it. They're not heartless but it'd take a lot to convince them to change --Buddy Hunters: Hunters that were moved after the Black Blight events and have opened up to the idea of having pokemon or even monster friends. They can even have some of their own that they don't just take on hunts but care for like their family. --The Scriveners: reaserchers that are VERY good at their job, they can make recipes for downing monsters or pokemon of different types based on their knowledge. They know about the land and wish to record everything possible. They're really smart and can range from acceptance of monsters and pkmn to not. --Pokèpals: they were moved by the events of the Blight but could only open they're heart to the pokemon. They respect their riders but they just can't bring themselves to love monsters the same as a pokemon. --Riders: they love Monsters and pokemon equally, sometimes they can have a bit of a bias towards their monsties however they typically have at least one pokemon on them and love nature. They do what they think is right for everyone though sometimes this can lead to chaos.

" Man like… This isn't cool you know Popola… We could have taken any quest on the board but you just HAD to teach me a lesson for taking a DAY off…"

A cat popped up from seemingly nowhere on the man's back, hopping up to his shoulders and bouncing angerly " Damn right Popola had to teach you a lesson mew lazy bum!! All mew do is eat,sleep,cook,sleep,and eat! That's hardly enough to pawy for our house!! "

The man got a less then pleased expression " Did we really have to hunt a Ariados thou dude…."

" YES REVERTO!! If mew won't keep up on the bills then Popola will pick your purrrfect missions for you! " Great ✨ Thought Reverto as he went through more forest- Popola was giving him the earful but he'd hoped that if he went slow enough the spider would move on to somewhere else that it wouldn't cause issue- Thou to his dismay up ahead he heard rustling, grabbing the hilt of his sword he drew his weapon ready for battle when suddenly -

" YEAH! GOLISOPOD USE LIQUIDATION " Was suddenly yelled from ahead, someone is in trouble!? The Buddy Hunter quickened his pace to go through the trees and only have greet his eyes a giant Ariados having its head slammed into the ground by a girthy Golisopod-- oof! That looked like it hurt, the spiders head squished into the ground as it was brutally forced deeper into the dirt below it before the golisopod flipped off landing perfectly on their feet. Thou the thing that caught his attention next startled him, it looked like there was someone under the spider!! Pokemon or no pokemon with them they looked like they were in trouble so he started to run out with speed- but halted when the spider suddenly moved, it's legs were flailing trying to get a grip on the ground but the person under the spider- was fucking lifting it. " HRRRRRRRRRUP!! " They suddenly tossed the thing up! What a feet, thou Reverto could do it too but he didn't expect the stranger to be so strong! With help from the golisopod suddenly using pin missile the spider was turned and the stranger had jumped up to grab onto the spider and utterly suplex it into the ground with style. Knocking out the Ariados instantly.. Now, man half wanted to clap as the stranger got up but there were two very big problems that lead him to be silent- One: that was his hunt and if he didn't take it home he would be cooked for dinner. Two: Reverto is terrified of bugs- friendly or not that golisopod noticed him and was staring at him with a certified death glare and the man was horrified. Popola however jumped up " WOW! They're probably just as strong as mew Reverto! That was amazing! "

But when the stranger got up to look their way and the body of the Ariados flinched Reverto shrieked. "I CAN'T DO IT ANYMORE MAN!! "

And ran away from the scene- " What's 'iz problem…" Muttered the stranger.
