you give off approachable vibes so maybe you can explain something to me? i would ask the account i saw this on but i feel like the conversation between them and another anon is too heated for me to ask without being yelled at lmfao can you explain the community label thing? because i read smut and i see new fics from unfollowed accounts with the mature label all the time on the “my tags” and “for you” page. maybe i don’t actually understand what shadow banned actually means?

yeees no problem!

so a few months ago tumblr added this feature where anything posted on here can have a community label added to it for anything that depicts mature topics (which include sexual themes, violence, and drug/alcochol addiction). this was added to allow users to choose which kinds of content they want to see on their dashboards. content with these community labels can be modified on your account as things you choose to see or not see. so basically tumblr intended to give users more visibility control over their dashboards.

BUT the problem with community labels is that tumblr executed it terribly terribly terribly. when community labels were added, a feature was also automatically added onto everyone's accounts where people could choose which content they wanted censored or not like i said. but the issue is that mature content is automatically HIDDEN. meaning that now people have to manually go into their profiles and choose the option that lets them see mature content. if they don't do that, mature content will not be shown on your dashboard or anywhere else until you change it, and that is automatic. you have to manually go into your account to change this. here's a tutorial on how to do it

and many users do not know that this feature has been added at all, and a lot of people have suddenly seen a huge decrease in fanfic on tumblr because they simply cannot see them without knowing why, and it is not because fanfic writers have stopped writing

this has been a huge problem amongst writers here because once your fic gets a community label (even if it is properly tagged), more than half of tumblr users will not be able to see it. fics with community labels will not be shown through searches, on the dashboard, or even if you go to a direct link on someone's masterlist. unless you manually change the settings in your account that tumblr added WITHOUT TELLING YOU, then you will not see any mature content at all. it is also worth mentioning that any user can report your content, not just tumblr staff. they say in their terms that they moderate their reports but when 10k+ worded fics get labeled within an hour they are not moderating

this has affected the interactions and reach that writers have been getting on their fics. it can take two hours for a work that has taken days to finish to be removed from more than half of their followers' access. many writers have lost motivation in writing or posting their fics because of the community labels

it has been a controversial topic with some anons and writers because ofc there are always anonymous idiots who discredit work and will always always say something along the lines of "your work and your hobbies aren't as important as you think they are"

With Alex being bored, there’s only so much of his phone that can distract him from being alone. He’s browsed his social media, watched an episode of something on Netflix and caught up on his emails and now he’s back to drumming his fingers on the table and wondering what to do. With his girlfriend as the main, she monitors her co-pilot and will occasionally check in on Alex via the overhead system when she can. He doesn’t blame her for not looking out for him, he’s a grown man and he doesn’t need to be babysat but the journey is a long one when alone. At least they have each other for company.

Blowing a long breath out, he gets to his feet. Usually, there is more cabin staff, but there’s one flight attendant on this journey and she’s mostly staying out of the way, allowing Alex to mind his business, even though they often interact on other flights.

With his phone in his hand, Alex makes his way through the cabin as he talks about his surroundings, opting to film it as a video, not a live incase she reacts negatively.

“So, I’m pretty much on my own private jet right now. Flown by beautiful girlfriend and her co-pilot. I’m Alex and welcome to my air crib.” He says laughing and with a flourish of his free hand as he holds out the camera to show off the empty cabin. “As you can see, it’s just me and Emily, but she’s hiding from me right now. I don’t think she wants to see me.”

Her laugh reaches his ears and he grins, “that’s not true!” She appears in the walkway, turning the corner of the area from where the food prep is, she stands before him with a grin.

“There she is. I might actually be able to get that in-flight meal i pre-ordered now.” He chuckles and she cackles. “I’m joking. I didn’t ask for anything. Emily is amazing and has been on every flight we’ve had so far. She’s my mate. Say hi.”

“Hello.” She gives a little wave.

“Don’t worry, we’re not live. Not yet anyway.”

“Alex, stop terrorizing the poor woman.” His girlfriend’s voice calls from the speakers, making Emily laugh harder.

“Interesting.” Alex pretends to muse, “it’s almost as though she wants my attention instead.” He turns the camera to himself, “I think we should pay my girlfriend a little visit. Don’t you?”

He’s probably on camera, but he moves stealthily anyway; doing his best to creep along the aisle and makes his way towards the cockpit door. He pauses, hand on the handle and listens. They’re still talking inside, their conversation flow sounds genuine and not just because he’s outside the door, so he gives a small rap on the door with his knuckles before entering.

“And here are, where the magic happens. Here’s my beautiful girlfriend with her concentration face that she swears she doesn’t have but very obviously does.”

He turns the camera to her as she sits in the chair, her headset firmly in place and her hands remain over the controls as she turns to look at him.

“I don’t.”

“You do.” Both Alex and her co-pilot respond.

“Yeees. Jen agrees. Two against one babe. We see your face more often than you do. And…right now that’s an annoyed one.” He says as he inches closer, zooming in on her face.

“Get that stupid camera out of my face or I’ll drop you off at the next airport I locate and leave you there.”

“Ooo she’s feisty today,” he grins, making her shake her head and try to hide the smirk which spreads over her lips as she turns to look back to what she’s doing. “But aye aye captain! I’ll go back to my seat. I won’t make a sound.”

“Fat chance of that,” both Jen and his girlfriend laughs.

5. Why did you start your blog in the first place?

Very fast after becoming ARMY i realized I wanted a place where I could just go all out and fangirl like crazy. I know people irl who follow my mainblog, and I don’t want to feel limited. I got even worse through time, with personal and very shamless content 😅, so I’m very happy I made this sideblog!

6. Why did you choose your icon?

When this behind photo came out I just DIED! It hit me so hard, he is soooooo sexy and looks like he sees something he likes 😉! So I choose it, and I like to have the same profile photo so people can recognize me, that’s why I haven’t changed it since. It feels like it represents me and my Tumblr now 🥺💜

Well, quite a few people hate the things I write and just disagrees in a very angry way. So they send me asks or replies. And sometimes I answer them, because I get really mad 😅

I never reblog them. I’m not that kind of blog. But I see the importance in a lot of them, sometimes SoMe is a very useful way to spread the word and focus on important issues.

Boooy howdy, so this was in the current fandom section. For H50, I guuuess it would be…I want to say Steve/Catherine, but honestly I dislike Danny/Rachel entirely it just makes me so mad.

32. Do you listen to music when you write or does music inspire you? If so, which band or genre of music does it for you?

Almost always! Its either music or the TV just on as background noise. For me, band or genre really just depends on my mood or story. I’ve written one listening to a jazz playlist on Spotify, another with Big Time by Big Time Rush /on repeat/ until I finished it, but others it’s just whatever shuffle play has for me! Music definitely does inspire me, though; as you’ve seen lately with Mcdanno, I could be at work or driving home just casually listening to a song when I’m struck by inspiration or a vibe. That’s just how I go, I guess lol

New Plance AU dropped

Mutant/monster AU @megnattsworld and i came up with

Lance is a merfolk who transforms into fish form when he touches water a la that new Luca movie coming out this summer

Pidge is a technopath like the olkari

Neither of them know this about the other until later.

Hunk has pretty wings

Keith presents more galran traits

Shiro is fully human at birth but has been experimented on by both galrans and other humans now so he's like captain america and the winter soldier combined

Allura and Coran have no idea what humans are supposed to be like and just assume this is some weird kinda human polymorphism

Hunk and Lance don't tell each other right away. Instead, Hunk finds out about Lance when he accidentally walks in on Lance in the shower, like

Hunk: hey where's the–stop screaming it's–oh that's why you're screaming

Hunk: hey don't worry check this out *takes off shirt and shows off his pretty wings*

And after that whenever Lance sees a pretty Pidge girl he's like "Hunk be my wingman–I mean, not WINGman haha but like you know" and Hunk just sighs

Keith has been showing signs of his half-alien form for a while and that's part of why/how he got kicked out and hermited himself

Shiro is a well-documented experiment that was unofficial and kinda a secret until a big scandal right after his disappearance on Kerberos, so they all know before they know you know

Pidge meanwhile is pretty human-passing and doesn't reveal until like halfway through season 1 when they're like "how did you do this techy thing you did" and she's like "oh yeah i told you im a girl but also im a technopath"

Allura and Coran think they're all normal humans (with severe anxiety issues and imposter syndrome and such) and the paladins let them believe that and that certainly wont have repercussions in 6 seasons
