I think any criticism you can apply to Jason being a boring main character could just as easily be applied to anyone else in the Seven because the entire Heroes of Olympus series lacks a strong definitive narrative voice in general

#like pulling myself out of the narration and observing it on a meta level I can tell all these characters have individual traits and yet #every situation they’re out in boils down to like. showing ‘bravery’ and that’s pretty much it #and you get seven characters trying to live up to their godly namesakes #when otoh the series is showing how much the gods truly need these mortals #and it just feels like it’s going in redundant circles with its thematic point #if you want to show how the gods need demigods and mortals then… #why did you build an entire narrative focusing on their GODLY powers… #Anyways when reading hoo I get the feeling that every character reads almost exactly the same most of the time #he could have made Jason the only narrator and it would’ve felt much more cohesive #and i think people would complain less about him being ‘boring’ #pjo and toa and MCGA all feel much better to read imo #riordanverse #pjo #pjo hoo toa #hoo #heroes of olympus #percy jackson #jason grace #me talking

HI KIRA i too am just here for the vibes <3 most of the stuff i have to criticize so far doesn’t genuinely irk me it’s just like hm they could have done this better but i am definitely having fun!! i loveeee walker as percy he nails his expressions and tone 🫶🏻 really like the extra focus they’re placing on grover & hope we get more of it as the series goes on!! vv excited to see more of annabeth too leah plays her very cool and collected which is not really the annabeth im used to at this age who is a lot more um. prone to exasperation and openly desperate to prove herself i guess? but leah is definitely fun to watch and im really interested to see where it goes. she got more than a few laughs out of me and she’s barely even had any screentime yet so. <3 cannot wait to see more of her!!! overall positive feelings & can’t stop thinking abt getting the rest of the eps it has been on my mind all day today aghdjf
