Introducing my Na'vi Oc Tulìpey!

Tulìpey was born to a vagabond father who returned to his roots for the sake of his infant child as a reef tribe na'vi, after Tulìpey's mother died bearing them.

Growing up Tulìpey's hybrid appearance and hard time adapting to the way of water was a big target for prejudice and bullying, but Tulìpey didn't let that influence them from becoming a respectable warrior and hunter.

Tulìpey's way of fighting and hunting strives away from the classic reef na'vi way, making it hard for many clan members to work together with them. There is a learning curve when you want to work with Tulìpey but if that is overcome, then teamwork with Tulìpey seems essential because of the new possibilities.

Tulìpey understands that not everyone is open to learning for the sake of them to join on team tasks, so Tulìpey mostly works alone.

Tulìpey's strong suit lies in their legs and their amazing endurance while running. Funny enough that endurance disappears when Tulìpey is underwater. It seems that being underwater too long makes them over stimulated and doesn't make them think straight, causing them to mess up their breathing

Because of their androgynous appearance/voice, their gender is considered a mystery to many of the tribe members, it doesn't bother Tulìpey what the other na'vi refer to them as, as long as they dont bother them and let them do their work lol

Unknown to the tribe and Tulipey themselves , they are actually intersex, which result in them having both male and female characteristics as well as in their case they are sadly sterile because of that.

Tulìpey can seem very distant and cold, mostly focused on their tasks. They have a natural distrust for others because of their childhood, but if you somehow manage them to warm up to you, then they are actually a very mellow and kind na'vi that would love to dance with you.

Tulipey is definitely surprised that Kuru'wä went from drowning them for fun to saving them from drowning??? Something isn't right here, but what could it be?

This is around the time when Kuru wä is trying to rebuild their "rivalry" after Tulipey put it on hiatus because of the incident. Both of them matured as Navi, although Tulipey won't SO easily forget the history they both share. (Let's be honest who would lmao)

I finally came around to export this sequence of doodles! If you are curious you can watch this vid on my tiktok!

But basically, it is showing Kuru'wä's peculiar way of apologising by gifting Tulìpey an old forgotten toy that he whittled, a wooden carved Toruk! The toy that Kuru'wä himself once stole from Tulìpey and threw into the bonfire, destroying it! Yor'näm is very amused by this whole situation lol

As Yor'näm prepared to depart to continue her journey, she suggested Tulìpey to join her. Tulìpey was intriguing by the proposition, their father was a past traveller himself, they might meet Na'vi similar to them, the idea made so much sense to them.

It wasn't Kuru'wä's poor attempts of persuasion or his desperate please that was holding them back, although Tulipey doesn't want to admit that those also added to their dilemma.

The reason was much simpler, it was the tribe life, contributing to the community they so proudly created a reputation for. Leaving what they build themselves behind just to run away from the occasional headaches that tribe life was bringing in wasn't like Tulìpey.

Ps. Kuru'wä is such a loser, just the idea that Tulìpey would leave made the guy shut down

As mentioned before, this is happening shortly after the akula attack that caused Kuru'wä's facial scar. Kuru'wä is trying to talk to Tulìpey about the situation, but they are avoiding him. Sìkll wants to finally put an end to this feud.

Sìkll is Kuru'wä's big brother and the next Olo'eyktan. He usually is a very stern and calm Na'vi that is excellent in giving advice on situations that others might try to ignore. Compared to Kuru'wä's tendency to go overboard with his words, Sìkll's words go straight to the point without actually having any malicious intent. They are simply true, and that's why they hurt most of the time. Sìkll very much cares for his brothers well-being, even if Kuru'wä brings out a side in Sìkll that is unfamiliar to others because of the situations that Kuru'wä gets himsef into. This might be because Kuru'wä's parenting has mostly fallen on Sìkll's shoulders. But Kuru'wä often misinterprets his brother's coddling as controlling.

Sìkll never minded Tulìpey's existence and even saw their warrior potential early on. Although he never was interested in befriending them, he is on neutral terms with Tulìpey, even enjoying the occasional war dance with them during social events.

Here we have Kuru'wä, his father Il'kari, his older brother Sìkll and Tulìpey's father Ra'van, doing repairs on some weaved structures until an unexpected statement gets dropped that forces the work to stop.

Someone asked why Ra'van would be here, that is because he is not only the assigned storyteller of the tribe but also the best handyman! His craftmanship is adored by many in the tribe and he is funny enough good friends with the chief, although their kids dont get along... well didnt get along, i guess? lol

Introducing my other Na'vi Oc Kuru'wä!!

Kuru'wä is born as the youngest son to the Olo'eyktan of their tribe. He didn't really care for important duties that he might have had since his older brother took up that role. That is when his father had enough of him slacking off his training and arranged a sparring match between him and Tulìpey, who was close to his age and had proven themselves to be a great apprentice.

Kuru'wä didn't care too much for the weird outsider nor acknowledged their existence at the time, but that drastically changed after losing to them.

This started their never-ending feud throughout their training years. Kuru'wä often sabotaged Tulìpey causing them to almost drown, and he occasionally even started brawls with them. Nonetheless Tulìpey has found ways to avoid him by being on land since he had no chance in catching up with Tulìpey. This turned rather playful over the years, which made Kuru'wä a bit more bareable for Tulìpey. Although he wasn't physically hurting them anymore, Kuru'wä still possessed a hurtful tongue and had a tendency to go overboard with his words.

-> Face scars incident:

After becoming a full adult and warrior, Kuru'wä was assigned on a patrol with Tulìpey who was the assigned head of the patrol, since they have become a warrior sooner than Kuru'wä.

Annoyed by that fact, Kuru'wä didn't listen to Tulìpey's instructions, causing the group to split. That's when they got attacked by an akula.

Tulìpey managed to divert the akulas' attention from the others but ended up without a skimwing. Since Tulìpey sucks at diving, they were pretty much vulnerable in open water with the akula around. Kuru'wä has managed to help them in that situation but at the cost of almost losing his life since he nearly got his head chopped by the akula. That's where he received the facial scar, It was much worse back then but has healed well.

Tulìpey was unexplainablly angry at him for not respecting them enough to listen to them, but was mostly blaming themselves for not being good enough to protect Kuru'wä from being hurt.

Kuru'wä was taken aback by their statements and has never seen Tulìpey this angry. He soon felt very guilty because the tribe began to judge Tulìpey's abilities again, although if he listened, they might not have ended up in that situation.

Soon after the incident, their rivalry mostly drifted apart. They didn't cross paths anymore, and Tulìpey mostly avoided teamwork in general.

As Tulìpey rebuild their status in the tribe, Kuru'wä started to miss the occasional banter and competitions between the two, thinking that this was the issue why he couldn't get the weirdo out of his mind. He soon realised that he had feelings for Tulìpey as other tribe members started to show interest in them.

Although Kuru'wä is very strong and a great swimmer/diver, Tulìpey considers him rather clumsy on land since his footwork lacks coordination. Kuru'wä's has a proneness to fidget with his hands so his favourite pastime activity is carving, which surprises many since he looks too rough and hyperactive for such a high focus activity, but it actually calms him and keeps his hands busy. He has a hard time swallowing down his pride but does acknowledge when he is wrong as he becomes older. However, his way of apologising has its own spin to it lol

Did Tulipey and Kuru'wä come after the Sully’s time? I’m rlly curious.

No! Tulìpey and Kuru'wä are from a different sea Na'vi tribe that is a bit far from the Metkayina clan, but they do still get informed about the Sullys arrival and situation/ gossip etc

Time wise, Tulìpey and Kuru'wä were already kids (around 6/7 years old) when Jake became Toruk Makto!
