Ok, im already hooked on this chapter two park jimin. I wasn't expecting much from this interview since the previous five interviews were not that good (jungkook and taehyung's were specially terrible), but honestly it did spike my curiosity even more about jimin's future career. I really want to know what raw, dark and explicit sound and look like for him. When I read those words, the first thing that comes to mind is "Lie", and I would love to see an older jimin go back and explore that type of concept some more. One thing I found interesting is that he used the word "sexy" to describe the Black Swan choreography, so I'm now extra curious to know more about what thee park jimin founds sexy and erotic and his approach to those concepts 👀

I want to know what's he talking about when he says that he used to live in denial about some things and the realization that he was fooling himself into thinking he was leading a wonderful life. I hope he has as much creative agency as possible here because this process can be so cathartic for him. I'm also glad to read that he's reuniting with different producers in search of his own sound, I want to make a guess and say that most of these producers might be outside of the hybe sphere, and if that's the case then I will be extra excited lmao.

Yes, let't talk about Jimin's interview because it was quite revealing, something that hasn't happened in quite some time. In the interviews he gave in the past couple of years, Jimin talked about how much dancing means to him, singing techniques, how he tried to cope with the pandemic and about his fear of becoming an adult. But in the most recent one, he's a bit more candid about how he wants to present himself as an artist and I think this information comes just at the right time. Up until now, he talked about himself mostly as a BTS member, but look: the moment it's about what he wants to do next on his own, suddenly we're allowed to know so much more and it really is a glimpse into what Jimin wants, especially given how private he is and how he doesn't talk much before releasing something (the OST with Sungwoon).

I'm really curious what raw and explicit means for him. Is it just about him being more sincere, more true to his own self and that entire idea becoming a driving force? Or it's something that will be transposed visually and musically as well? I think these areas will show the more mature side of him. And I doubt it will be just about more revealing outfits or mature themes, as in sexier. That would be reductive. Although I do have a feeling it could imply that as well. This is a man that can show his cute side for his fans as a BTS member, but let's not forget he enjoys bing naked and he's not a little lamb.

Lie and Filter truly are the most revealing performances in terms of what Jimin wants to share and express. Both songs and choreographies heavily imply an inner struggle on one side and a complete control of how he is perceived on the other side and how that inner struggle manages to escape and then transform into what we see in Filter. Ever since I spent time thinking and analyzing that performance, I became convinced even back then that out of BTS, Jimin (and Jungkook as well) is capable of using his body and the concept he's working with in order to make a statement about his self and how he is perceived. It felt like there is always a struggle there. I hope we get to see more of that journey in the future. I truly can't wait for his album release. I have an idea about what everyone else might do, except Jimin and that's because how misterious he is, even when we think we actually know something about him.

As to him saying he lived in denial and thinking he lead a wonderful life, well that's the perfect example of a Jimin answer that keeps you thinking about it days after. Once again, he's purposefully vague because it's too connected to his private life and that's fine. People can interpret that and assign certain meanings to it, but my guess is, we'll slowly figure out what Jimin is talking about once he releases his album.

To some it all up: if you added All those songs lines up and percentaged it out you know who comes out on top? V! He gets 23.8% of the lines with JK coming in 2nd at 22.6 and JM in third with 21.2%. So again maybe you should be claiming that they favor V and RM and not JK. I mean they gave V a movie too. Jin also has the most OSTs . ( I got this from a Korea boo post of all places 😂)

2. Your second piece of evidence is that they didn’t tell JM that his song was being used in the movie.

Ok. He didn’t know at the time of that filming. Why is that some nefarious plot against him? They were busy. I mean they somehow messed up on the taxes too. I am sure that whoever was in charge is a human who messed up. Or JM was told but at a time when he was busy thinking about something else. Who knows why? You sure don’t and neither do I. But does that mean that they favor JK? No. It is of no benefit to him to withhold this information from JM.

3. Your third piece of evidence is that Sungwoon asked JM to do the OST.

JM has been the top rated idol in Korea for years. He consistently tops the charts for brand rating. He is in the undeniably biggest group in the country and, in my opinion, world. They have left the status of idol group behind and are easily musical legends that will be discussed for decades to come. A group like that has many inquiries for their time and talent. I am certain it is very hard to get anyone in BTS to do a project for someone. A good business person will use any and all methods to reach their intended target. In this case, they used JMs friend Sungwoon to try and get his attention. And it worked. They were clearly using Sungwoon because they wanted only JM but JM had them both do it together. That says a lot to me about JMs character and his respect for his friend. Did the OST people use back channels to get their intended target? Yes. Does that mean that “the company” deliberately withheld it from JM? No. Does that mean they favor JK? No. Again. He does not benefit in any way from this.

Last claim, Nothing will ever reach JM if it is going through the company.

You seem to have a bad opinion of Hybe. You know that BTS partially owns Hybe, right? They have a lot of stock in the company. They have re-signed their contracts. They speak well of them and how they care for them. I will never pretend to know their exact relationship with the company, and neither can you, but they spend a lot of their downtime at the building. I just don’t see any drama between the group and the company.

I don’t know what your beef is with JK but you really haven’t done your homework. So back to to your original question… how do I feel comfortable saying there is no favoritism for JK? Because I see this group for what they are. Each one is uniquely contributing to the success of the group. Each one is a special and valuable member. Despite what I did here to argue against your claim and evidence, I don’t count their lines. I don’t put their value or worth on how many collabs they have or how many lines they get. Or how many minutes of video time they have. I see that they love one another . And I love each of them. I don’t see any evidence of anything other than talented, kind, smart men who have the ability to pursue whatever they want to and who are actively choosing their own paths in life and the company actively helps them to do that. The best thing about their success is that they no longer are the outcasts waiting for someone to give them a chance. They can turn down BBMA confidently. They can turn Las Vegas purple. They can dance in the UN. The world is at their feet.

I feel relaxed to see that you are not shipped them blindy and can also see the things which shows jk's two sided behaviour sometimes. Finally i can to talk someone who can think from both sides... postive and negative. He even sat on tae's lap at the concert..so he basically did things for both of the shippers y know. I promise to always look at all evidence, regardless of how it makes me feel. I’m not interested in deluding myself. There’s plenty of solid instances of Jikook over the years that we don’t need to make things up. But neither should we hold onto the past if the evidence is showing us something different now. So you can always talk to me about Jikook and I’ll give you my honest assessment.

I like to think what separates us from the cult is the ability to think critically and accept reality. And the reality is that something is a little off this year, compared to all the other years. We don’t know why, but a lot of us sense strained vibes.

During the most recent concerts and warm ups, JK kissed Hobi’s cheek, gave a long back hug to Yoongi, wrapped his arms around Joon’s waist in a long hug, played (carefully) with Jin, and also heavily flirted with Tae (twirling, shoe shine moment, lap sit). The first two days were painfully awkward between Jikook (to me). The third day was getting better. The last night—the night they filmed—he was all over Jimin and they did the bridal carry.

I’m not saying it was all for the cameras because I don’t think they are liars or fakes, but if they knew it was the last concert for several years, the maknae line probably wanted to give all their fans various “ship” moments. So I take what happens during a performance with a grain of salt. Not a huge indication of their real life relationship.

More telling is the way Jimin stayed behind while JK worked on the seom game design, or how happy JK was during the Vegas Vlive to say Jimin will be his boxing partner, or the way JK tapped Hobi’s shoulder and silently put him on the floor so he could sit on the couch next to Jimin, plus they stayed so close together while playing games in the arcade in DC. They still chose to orbit each other in free time…

As for talking about Jimin’s OST—keep in mind it was a YamYam production, not a Hybe one like Yoongi’s or Hobi’s. Not sure what the rules are around promotion of outside efforts. No one spoke of it; Tae played it and he knew the melody and lyrics by heart. But no one mentioned “Good job, Jimin! We support you!” And since that would take literal seconds on social media to do, I have to conclude not mentioning it was a conscious decision.

But what’s baffling is that Jimin never once mentioned or promoted With You—except to answer a question in his Weverse article explaining his friend wanted to do something like that with him for years. It has been two months and both Jimin and Sungwoon and everyone around them act like that song never happened. It’s first day was cut short, it wasn’t listed in the proper genre category, it didn’t have an official Spotify artist page or playlisting, it didn’t get much radio play… I have zero clue why. Very off.

It did shake me that JK said he didn’t know Jimin’s solo songs or 7 tattoo placement. Some fans insist he was teasing/deflecting but I hesitate to make assumptions just because I find them more comforting than simply holding the fact in my mind, waiting for more clarification. Taken at his word, JK doesn’t know THE most intimate details of Jimin’s life right now, so that implies distance—physical and emotional.

There seem to be murmurs on K forums that since festa dinner, Jikook have been out to dinner and affectionate with each other, but no proof makes it hearsay. I don’t speak Korean so I’m getting those rumors third-hand.

I think given nine years of intimacy plus an INSANE first half of 2022, I have to withhold judgment about Jikook right now. I’m leaning towards they are fine and still in love but it’s been a crazy few months and they are being quieter while enlistment and solo era firms up. That’s my take thus far!

Sungwoon or jungkook both are Koreans who are non English speakers , so whatever accent they learnt is from a guide . And usually when people speak foreign language their voice tone changes unknowingly. They both sound similar during the English verse especially the way he sings the line "forever and ever and ever" in with you .

We can't blame shippers to picture jungkook but if they're theorizing he's doing hidden vocals or it should've been jungkook instead of sungwoon , then it's disrespectful to Jimin who wanted to Collab with his friend in his first ost .

Jungkook's fans try to spread ' jungkook's voice is unique ' agenda after seeing how vocal coaches praise jimin's parts in songs and say jimin's voice is unique and that's why he brings flavour to any song he's in . And by saying sungwoon sounds like jungkook it defeats their purpose in the fandom so they have to create drama so as to establish the created agenda .

I've listened to With You a few more times since it came out and have changed my initial review of the song a bit. The first time I heard it, I thought Jimin's voice didn't quite fit the song and that it wasn't the best choice for him. Listening to it now, Jimin's voice sounds sweet and angelic, charismatic the way it usually is. It fits the song. However, I maintain that With You is a very average release that doesn't wow you or do Jimin justice. It's no Serendipity. Ha Sungwoon sounds great too! I remember saying I liked the last minute of the song, but I honestly don't know what I meant by that. I like the whole song, especially the chorus - the chorus is quite pretty. The song is pretty in general, but it's very average, and I think that's why it had to grow on me. It sounds like any other OST out there until you listen to it a few times, imo.

At this point no one can tell me that everything that’s been happening around Jimin’s OST isn’t anything BUT sabotage.

💀- The way it was promoted (by the kdrama agency, not even Hybe) as a solo, but then 4 days BEFORE its release we learned that it was a collab/duet with his bff.

💀- The “fandom” spreading misinformation that the OST was fake.

💀- We didn’t get the title till the DAY BEFORE its release.

💀- The huge disadvantage in release time compared to others’ ost (11 pm release on a Sunday, 10 hour tracking period, 4.5 days bb tracking. ).

💀- Jimin’s spotify profile/page not being updated nor Verified or searchable in the first 48 hours. Didn’t even had a proper profile picture to the point that the OSt’s cover was used as pfp.

💀- When it FINALLY gets verified, 5 hours later it doesn’t appear to be again...

💀- “With You” hasn’t been added to playlists like “This is BTS” and other BTS related playlists (like the other member’s osts) which means 0 playlisting.

💀- The song wasn’t published as Kpop & Soundtrack (again, unlike the others), so it only appears in the Soundtrack Chart despite it holding the #01 Spot. Which means that if this isn’t fixed it might not be be added to playlists such as "k-pop rising", "k-pop daebak" and "new music k-pop" on spotify.

Again, 0 playlisting.

💀- HOURS after the ost was released suddenly there’s media articles about the issue with his apartment which happened ...4 months ago? The issue had by now been resolved, Hybe took the blame because it was THEIR FAULT for their shitty management of personal information (all while giving 3 different versions of the events).

💀- Sungwoon had been SO EXCITED to tell everyone about how the collab between he and Jimin came to be and during the first 24 hours constantly expressed his gratitude to his fans and armys for the support they’ve shown towards the song.

But soon after that he went QUIET and hasn’t appeared and neither has Jimin. No posts, no Vlives nada.

💀- Hybe out of the blue promoting S*ga’s collab with P/SY, that will come out this Friday at 6pm kst?? Videos and all from BOTH parts on how this came to be?

When all we knew from Jimin’s ost out of his own mouth was during that VHopeMin vlive ONLY BECAUSE the chat was filled with armys spamming it wanting to know about the ost and Hobi had no choice but to ask him..

And no, don’t gimme that bullshit that “jimin is a quiet guy” speech. This OST wasn’t some personal project like Christmas Love or Promise that ended up on Soundcloud (for FREE), this was an official OST for a huge kdrama filled with A-List Actors.
