#We meet Rana's mom!

Note
To the anon who understood dislike for half-siblings. My parents divorced when I was nine. I stayed with my mom. And through my adolescence I tried to stay in touch with my dad. It was painful for all the parties involved. When I was twelve my dad remarried and had another daughter. Then got divorced again. And fought for his other child. So that she stayed with him and not with her mother. I'm in my thirties now. And, yes, I understand my father. I know that the dad i remember and had as a child is not the same parent my half-sister has. He's older, maturer, smarter (and stopped drinking... That much, at least). I understand everything. But the little child in me would never let me forgive and reconcile with him or my half-sister even if I'd wanted to. That little girl that just can't shake off the feeling of being unneeded. Being replaced. So, yeah, I didn't blink an eye when I told Salyra to kindly fuck off. And didn't agree to meet her new family. And had a great satisfaction in it, as that is something I had not an opportunity to do in my real life as I was much younger than MC. So, childhood dream of a little revenge came true.
And thank you, wonderful author, for this opportunity and the story you create in general. You have no idea how close to home it hit. All sorts of absent emotionally and/or physically parents. I've had it all.
And sorry for this huge and very personal message. Guess that previous anon's ask also hit home and stroke something in me. All the people who openly dislike or just don't want to interact with Rana - you are valid. Whatever your reasons are. We are allowed to be petty and unreasonable.
I'm really sorry you had to go through so much pain, Anon ❤️️ I'm no stranger to real angst in my real life, so I'm glad that the game could provide some 'closure' that you couldn't find in your situation. I knew it would be important for players to react how they want based on their feelings without being pressured to forgive Salyra or to get punished for not forgiving her.
Be as petty and as unreasonable as you want - unless it's got anything to do with the war, you're not going to have any consequences (besides maybe a decrease in Sal's relationship stats!).
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Won't Fall In Love At The End- 4
Get Rana some fucking therapy
@xanadaus @an-ungraceful-swan @novaliae @gaslight-gaetkeep-gayboss I think you guys wanted to be tagged sorry if you don't want to be tagged
By the time Saturday afternoon rolls around, Rana has still not entirely convinced herself that this will be fine and fun. Rana’s dad drives her to the address that Asher texted, and once he’s met Ms. Siegal for long enough to be confident she’s not a serial killer, he leaves. Aziza has gotten there before her and is eagerly taking a bite of Asher’s mom’s challah. Ms. Siegal offers Rana some. Luckily, she’s been over at Eva’s house often enough to have tried challah before, and knows it’s a texture she doesn’t hate, so she accepts the offer.
“It’s nice to meet you, Rana,” Ms. Siegal says. “I wasn’t sure Asher would ever find someone to date.”
“Mom.”
“We weren’t sure Rana would ever date someone either,” Aziza says.
“Aziza,” Rana groans, exchanging a look with Asher. They both still haven’t found anyone to date, not for real.
Asher glares at their mom, and then says “You look nice.”
“You do too,” Rana says, and it’s true. They’re wearing a suit jacket and a skirt that reaches their knees. Their necktie is the same shade of green as Rana’s dress- she remembered them asking about the color of her outfit, because couples should match, or something.
Couples.
She knows that’s the point of fake dating, to pretend to be a couple, but the word makes her a little bit squeamish to think about.
“You two are cute,” Aziza says, as the doorbell rings and Ms. Siegal moves to let Eva in. Rana’s discomfort has moved past “a little bit squeamish” into “vaguely nauseous” territory.
“They are,” Eva agrees, walking in. “Imagine not being tragically single.”
Rana almost laughs. She can’t imagine herself not being single, genuinely not single. That’s the problem.
“If you’re sad about being single you could just, like, ask someone out,” Asher says. They understand sadness about being single about as well as Rana does, she guesses.
Eva sighs dramatically. “She’s straight.”
Rana looks at her feet. After eating lunch with Abigail for a few days, she’s noticed that Eva’s hypothesis about Abigail’s sexuality might not be entirely true. From the details she’s gathered about Abigail’s camp girlfriend turned long distance girlfriend turned ex girlfriend, Rana doubts she means “girlfriend” in a platonic, straight girl way. But that’s not her information to tell Eva about, so she stays quiet as Eva laments.
It’s kind of funny to watch Eva’s face as Abigail arrives. She’s in a suit with a red necktie, her shoulder length hair tied back, and for the first time, Rana understands how Eva finds Abigail so attractive. She still doesn’t understand why Eva is actually sad about not dating Abigail, but Abigail is, objectively, very hot.
She arrives with Xavier, who has on a blue button down shirt and a bow tie decorated with dinosaurs. Rana has no particular desire to ever wear a bow tie, but if she did, she would definitely steal that one.
Eva’s eyes narrowed, looking between Xavier and Abigail. She opens and closes her mouth a few times, and then Aziza jumps in, saying they both look nice and are they going to homecoming as a couple?
Xavier and Abigail exchange a look, and then burst out laughing. “We’re both gay in opposite directions,” Abigail explains finally, and Eva nearly chokes on her sip of water.
The Eva-pining-over-Abigail rants are probably about to get even more annoying.
No. Wait. She’s not supposed to think that. Eva’s her friend, and Rana wants Eva to be happy, and she should listen when Eva talks about her feelings.
Being a good friend is hard, but if Rana wants to hold on to the few friends she has, she should probably do her best to be one.
Asher checks their watch. “Where’s Daniel?”
“He’s late for everything ever,” Xavier says with a shrug. “While we wait for him, can I ask the names of these new people? I’m Xavier.”
He glances over at Aziza and Eva. Eva is still recovering from the shock of realizing Abigail is gay, so Aziza introduces herself first.
“And I’m Eva,” she says weakly.
Abigail smiles at her. “My name’s Abigail. Nice to meet you.”
Eva blushes bright red. “I. Uh. You too.”
Rana seriously does not understand crushes. Saying “nice to meet you” is a very normal thing to say. It’s not anything special, just someone being polite. It doesn’t seem worth blushing over.
The doorbell rings, and Asher rushes over to answer it. “About time,” they tease as Daniel steps in. “You’re our ride, man. We need you to be on time.”
He holds his hands up. “Sorry, sorry. I’m here now?”
“I can’t wait until another one of us is allowed to drive around other people,” Asher grumbles. “A more punctual person.”
“I’m allowed to!” Abigail says indignantly.
“You don’t have a big enough car,” Xavier tells her, and she rolls her eyes.
“Technicalities. We’ll just stuff some people in the trunk, it’ll be fine.”
“I don’t think that’s safe,” Rana points out.
Abigail shrugs. “We’ll vote. Least liked member of the group gets the trunk.”
Rana stares down at her feet. The likelihood that she’d get voted least liked member of the group… about a hundred percent. She knows things are rarely one hundred percent likely, but this seems like an exception. Abigail and Xavier and Daniel, they probably don’t like her at all, and definitely not more than the others. They just tolerate her, since she’s Asher’s fake girlfriend.
She bites her tongue as Daniel says “Or we could give everyone a seat, because my car is big enough.”
“I don’t trust that car,” Xavier says. “It’s like a million years old.”
“It works!” Daniel scowls. “Insulting my punctuality is one thing-”
“-Because it’s a true insult,” Asher cuts in.
“But insulting my car is where I draw the line! Jerry may be old, but he’s a good car. Don’t be mean.”
“You named your car Jerry?” Aziza asks.
“Jerry is a fine name! Stop judging me and my car!”
The group laughs, except Rana, whose mind is still spinning around we’ll vote, least liked member of the group gets the trunk. Had Abigail been looking at her when she said that? Maybe Rana was imagining it, or remembering wrong, but she probably was.
The group files out the front door, and Ms. Siegal insists on taking photos before they leave. The big group photos are okay- even though they probably all wish I wasn’t part of the group photo- but then Ms. Siegal grins and says “Everyone out except Rana and Asher. Time for a picture of the couple.”
“Mom,” Asher protests.
“Asher,” she repeats back in the same annoyed voice. “I’m a mom. You’re my kid, going to homecoming with their girlfriend. I want pictures of you two.”
Asher rolls their eyes.
“Step closer to her,” Ms. Siegal directs. “Put an arm around her. Stop glaring at me and try to look happy to be with your girlfriend.”
Rana forces a smile. She’s not happy, not enjoying this at all, but she does have a lot of practice making her face look the way it’s supposed to look. So she pretends it’s not gross to stand so close to Asher, looking so… couple-y, and smiles for the camera.
Finally, mercifully, Ms. Siegal is done snapping photos, and she orders everyone to be safe as they pile into the car.
Rana feels like she’s underwater. Which, on paper, shouldn’t be a bad feeling. She likes swimming, likes the ocean and its plants and sea creatures and ecosystems, but now she just feels trapped, like waves keep crashing over her head and she can’t swim away. Waves of least liked member of the group and they all wish you weren’t part of the group and try to look happy to be with your partner.
Asher taps her shoulder and leans in close. “You okay?”
“Get a room,” Aziza teases, before she could say anything.
Rana considers how it looks from the outside; a caring partner, leaning in to whisper sweet things to their girlfriend, maybe give her a kiss. It feels like everyone is looking at her and seeing the wrong thing, and she knows that was the point of fake dating, that they would see her as a normal person who dates people, but that’s… not… right.
That feeling is added to the waves that relentlessly wash over her, that feeling that everyone sees her as someone she’s not, and she wants them to because they probably won’t like it if they see her as someone she is, but at the same time, feeling invisible is…
She doesn’t know.

Eyyy another year has past and its time for another kubera bunge.
I change favorite characters like every year and this year in addition to yaksha i think its ananta i need to reread that entire part again.
That sequence with ran and ananta's shed skin about choosing the lives if his family or 109 strangers. But then theres a scene with rana that was seen earlier and im confused. Initially i though the rana ran scene was the future/present while the last like 100 chapters have been flash back but then that talk about ran living in the real universe got me confused. Is that actually from that doomed n23. Raltara is there?
We already knew that kubera crossed over from the previous universe but now kalavinka and marut imply he's the cheerleader for the destruction of the universe and losers of the previous universe. He seems to gave mixed feelings about his situation. I remember there were rumors jibril summoned agni but it was kibera she summoned? I thought you needed triple attributes how did firefirefire jibril do it. Or could it be that as a cheerleader he has a separate name and jibeil summoned that name. Did leez time travel again to summon kubera? That makes 3? 4? 5? Times she's saved her own life and drastically altered the course of history. Ah eline told her of a different summoning method.
Oh yeah and we got confirmation raltara's mom was taraka the nastika name kali took so i guess raltara and yuta are full siblings. That is mind its not surprising raltara can have a tarakafied form. Not sure what it has to do with marut.
wait. Ran's wish on the eye of punishment might have led maryna to carry the sins assigned to rao and develope. Also dumbass ran here equips it onto himself.
Wait the pink text bubbles were the voices of vigor/ancient humans why is akasha also speaking in that color?
oh currygom we all know you're a homophobe. How can a series be so gay yet so painfully straight. Gee huh a spcies that can change sex at will and many do so frequently yet in romantic relationships its always one man and woman. Currygom bending over backwards to make things straight. Or all the nastika changing sexes to avoid being attracted to someone because of course men would be attracted to women. Or petupan who who prefers female form but lives it male form for the power and of course hanuman then has to change to female form to be in a relationship with petupan
"
Those who feel attraction to the opposite sex
Those who are attracted to females no matter their own sex
Those who feel sexual attraction to females when they are male, but feel no attraction when they are female
Those who feel attraction no matter the sex of both parties
Those who feel sexual attraction to males when they are female, but feel no attraction when they are a male
Those who are attracted to males no matter their own sex
Those who do not feel sexual attraction no matter the sex of both parties (Doesn't mean they don't feel any at all).
Out of all the nastikas, the proportion of #1 is the most abundant, and it goes down in order, with #7 being the least common."
So women are super desirable is this universe. What. Also as noted by others to currygom it is inconceivable that some people would only be attracted to those of the same gender/sex. "I haven't even thought that there could be instances like that" currygom really be like gay people arent real, but i already knew she was a conservative. At least ace people exist in this universe.
I was mad about yaksha dying before but now im like quadruple mad. In the words of two redditors:
"One of [Yaksha, Shuri, Jamba] had to die. Jamba was easiest because it would make Yaksha peaceful and want to give his body away like she did, which leads to Ran getting the heart."
"They straight up told Yaksha that "remember that guy who you're living to meet? He's not gonna exist if you repair your heart, so just die to Asura". "
And about the prievals making ananta the time axis: "they gave him the view of a "player" and didn't let him make decisions. Everything was scripted and chosen for him, only letting him have the delusion of free choice and had him bear the burden. Exactly what Ran accused The will-to-live skin of. No wonder he chose to blow up."
Yeh i'd try and destroy the universe too. They first kill his most important person because its easiest of the 3 then give him a reason to live just long enough so they can kill him with that same reason and have his bones and heart be useful in n23. Yaksha lived and died so ran could get a powerup so that visnu and brahma could have a more powerful card to play in n23. And all the places yaksha's bones were plot relevent like khroha's death. it was also probably to get yaksha out of the way. Yaksha deserved better… Cute little catboy grandpa...
this happens on all my binge reads but i am once again losing it

Session 96 Notes
Tumblr media
Yep, we're still going, I'm just really bad at making the notes available to anyone but the DM lol
(Diem left 1000 platinum with their mom) In this session we finish up our last day and night in Budelia (the second visit), Diem visiting with their mother and joining the party only for dinner at Upa's tavern. We set out early the next day, help a very angry squirrel find a new home and meet a new, strange friend when we camp down for the night in some familiar ruins (where we fought some dire boar...or hell boars? the first time through). ~ Details under the cut ~
Rana investigates the outskirts of town with Hickory, looking for ways in and clues about the slime and also looking for a really big tree - 11 survival. She finds a very large oak on the far outskirts of town, Northwest that should be big enough for future purposes.
Fee goes to talk to all the shop owners and do some window shopping, talk to the locals and just hang out and chill. She’d restock supplies, general stuff like dried roadsnacks, rat snacks, rope replacement, etc. 2g spent total. No alchemist so no potion restock.
Ixie checks in on the guy she saved, he’s definitely in awe of her and smitten has poetry. Ixayl'anu's response: “No no that’s quite alright.” /leaves
Everyone spends a nice relaxing day in or just outside town. Rana doing her druid thing that she hasn’t had much of a chance to do with a whole group of people.
As we arrive at the tavern for dinner together Diem is hyper and more energetic than usual, but Jutira, while looking happier and more settled, also still has a bit still deer in the headlights look to her.
Tira: Thank you for taking the time to let me spend the day with Diem. It’s been a long time and I understand you all have to go places.
Fee: Take all the time you need!
Ixayl'anu: Right within reason.
We chat a bit, Jutira gets pulled away eventually. During this time, Diem tells the story about how their gran had been poisoning her and then when they get to the dream crab story, performance 25 has the whole inn paying attention. ~ Reveal ~ Our one shot with different characters 10 years earlier had Diem's mom in it as an npc they all helped.
We discuss what happened to those characters at the end of the one shot, options they would’ve had for interacting after etc. along with what the characters are doing now. Almost everyone elected to have had those one-shot characters help Tira out upon waking. ~ Back to the main campaign ~
Diem goes to bed at their mom’s and is woken up way earlier than they wanted, and gently nudged from bed to start their day. Rana passes them on her way to the tavern from the inn and they exchange greetings (with Diem still half asleep). Not wishing to interact with the loud and lively innkeeper directly this early, Diem crawls into Fee’s window at the inn for cuddles and more sleep. Fee says they should talk about how their mom apparently doesn’t trust them to stay there alone.
Diem is tired though and just wants to cuddle (and sleep more).
At the tavern, Upa gives Rana a glowing pearl for our group, to help on our adventures. Rana opens the box and it glows enough everyone probably noticed it get opened. Rana plays with it like a cat because it’s pretty and shiny and it makes Upa happy to see her entertained.
When we arrive Diem notices and asks about it, Rana hands it over without saying it’s from Upa so they identify it and then say it’s a pearl of power (“It appears to be another pearl of power that’s all you get from it.”).
Ixayl'anu: Where’d you find it?
Rana: Upa gave it to me.
Diem: Upa gave it to you? Then why’d you have me identify it? Why didn’t you just ask?
Rana: I didn’t, you did that on your own, I thought you just wanted to see it ‘cause it’s pretty.
Diem: Well…it is very pretty.
Brief discussion so full of RP terms about Rana not having attunement slots left and Diem says they do, but Upa gave it to her. After a little back and forth between all spellcasters, Rana asks Upa if it’s okay to give to Diem, she says of course, she gave it to her to be the most useful to whomever among us.
Ixayl'anu points out that Diem is always the one wanting a nap. Diem suggests trading it back and forth before they’re reminded it’s an attunement thing.
Diem also gets specific permission to call Upa Grammy. Upa promises to take care of their mother too.
Even so Diem stops in at the guard house to give their mom the tolling tulip, ring of lightning resistance, and scroll of protection from undead while the others check on road conditions to Averni with Sean.
On the way there is a fallen tree on the path, overgrown, creating difficult terrain all over.
Fee hears barking - a tiny dog-like sound just before an acorn hits her. She sees the tiny grey squirrel that is angry with her that’s standing on the log. She gets chewed out. Fee throws something back at it, the squirrel dodges and disappears. The next time it throws an acorn it hits Rana’s shoulder.
Rana: Hey! (casts speak with animals then says “Hey!” again)
Squirrel: Get away from my tree!
Rana: Your tree is on the ground!
Squirrel: I know! (super distraught) squirrel goes back in tree “Go away!”
Even without a nature check Rana can tell this is just a very dead snag that toppled over.
Rana: Your tree doesn’t look like it’s gonna be a very safe tree anymore.
Squirrel: All my stuff is in here :(
Rana: We might need to move your stuff... It comes out to stare at her with thinking tail flicks.
Rana translates what's going on for the rest of us.
Rana: What happened to your tree, we were not here
Squirrel: There was a lot of wind and it got knocked over and it was loud and scary!
The squirrel is increasingly distraught and doesn’t know what to do now.
We eventually move the tree away with Diem volunteered as an elephant when Rana asks for polymorph volunteers (we ruled awhile back that Diem's shapechanging flexibility allows them to *choose* to let the polymorph magic take hold if they know it's coming, otherwise typical shapechanger immunity). Diem has a blast as an elephant being all big and strong. Rana has speak with animals long enough to hear how happy they are to be so huge and super strong look at me! /elephant flex /uses trunk to play with peoples' hair (gets bit trying to pat squirrel), animal handling checks must be made on wiser but less intelligent Diem to get them to do as requested.
Fee rides them the rest of the hour down the road after we've successfully moved tree out of the road and helped squirrel relocate to new, better tree. Hickory wanted to solve the problem with squirrel snack, this was not allowed.
We camp where we were for the haunted doll prank about a month ago and Diem minor illusions fake chalk remains to see how long it takes Fee to notice.
Hickory warns Rana someone’s coming.
Rana perceptions after letting us know, some woman offers to help with food if we share the fire.
Rana asks if we’re alright with company everyone but Diem hesitates.
Diem: Sure we love company!
(Rana telepathically with Hickory: play nice Hickory: She smells weird Rana: (missed response)
Hickory watches newcomer in definitely not horse like fashion.)
Rana insight checks her and can tell she’s a loner who doesn’t really like civilization, not really used to being around people but she seems friendly enough, she offers the two rabbits that look freshly caught. Rana notices things only Rana and Fee get to know in the secret room.
Her name is Tessa HillHollow
Rana takes the rabbits and makes a point of checking out the more ragged kill method. She will dig in her pouch and pull out a few dried soup balls and hand them over as trade.
Tessa is surprised and slowly takes them. Rana steps outside the ruin walls, away from camp to gut and prepare the rabbits. She tosses the innards to Hickory as she does this.
Fee: So where do you come from?
Tessa: I just have a couple of trap lines around here and uh…it’s a livin.
Fee: Oh you live here?
Tessa: In the area, yeah, not really in town, I do go to some of the bigger ones occasionally when I need some supplies.
She has a quiver, bow, and small pack she set down.
We chat her up, talk about how she’s been here a few years and we must’ve just missed her last time. Diem asks about the nearby haunted house stories and insights 11 that she looks a little unnerved so probably doesn’t like spooky stories. They revert to saying they’re a story teller, and ask what kind of stories she does like. Tessa: Adventure.
Before Diem launches into story time Fee convinces Ixayl'anu to do a perimeter check "Like we do EVERY NIGHT" (Diem insight 1 on that lol). Diem proceeds to try and stress how safe Tessa is with us, talks about being an elephant recently, how we handled a bunch of wild boar here last time.
Fee gets far enough away with Ixayl'anu to talk about her Tessa suspicions and asks her to do divine sense, making special note of the fact that creepy chalk circle still being there is super strange (all the laughter). During the divine sense perimeter check Ixayl'anu does ping a grave sight of some kind just southwest of the ruin campsite walls.
Meanwhile, sidenote: The chalk circle pieces disappeared after only a minute, occasionally Diem brings a glint of it back every now and then.
Diem 29 performance (nat 20) telling Tessa stories to entertain and help her feel safe with us but without focusing on us in a way that sounds braggy and arrogant.
She tells us some things about the area in exchange, including a warning about a spider-scorpion like thing that looks like branches and plants in the area as a disguise to ambush prey and she’s seen it grab things as big as a cow before. They are spider monsters with step shelf fungi-like growths on their legs.
Diem sets up an alarm spell for the next 8 hours.
Survival rolls for the night 12 Rana, 8 Hickory, Ixie 13, Diem 17, Fee 8.
Ixie and Diem hear wolves off in the distance, but they’re pretty far away.
Fee’s watch with Tessa goes pretty easy and a little bit before dawn she packs up and leaves and says to Fee that she’s gonna go tell the others that meeting us was nice and she enjoyed having some company for the night, but she’s got stuff she’s gotta do bright and early.

“I was 26, 25, and this time in Saudi Arabia, you don’t have anything to do, only sitting in your room and doing internet, Twitter, Facebook and other things.
So, in this time, I was completely outside this world, I don’t know there is people in our world they don’t believe in god. I don’t know there is people in our world they don’t have any religion. And then I was completely shocked. I feel like it’s important information. Why they hide it, why I don’t know it?”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojpGBz9OxPM&t=24m12s
“I feel like, the more I get the information, the more I have to be careful. Because I know now I am different, and I have something different in my mind, and it will be really dangerous from my family, from the country, from the society if someone knows what I am going through.
2014. My mom wasn’t happy with what I am doing in my room all the time. Why I am sitting alone, what’s going on with Rana, I think my mom in this time. And she said, let’s go to Mecca, and you will do an umrah [pilgrimage to Mecca] with us.
And I was like, no, don’t put me in this situation, you know. When you are atheist or ex-Muslim and someone takes you to this place, and around you, 2 million, 3 million Muslims, you feel completely... it’s painful. You want to shout, to say “I am atheist, kill me,” you know.
In this moment, I have this feeling, but at the same time, you have to [outwardly] be happy because you are going in the house of god.”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojpGBz9OxPM&t=46m39s
“I want to cry, I can’t because they hear me. They are around me, my family. I want to shout, I want to do anything to make any reaction, you know, when you are really sad [...] you can’t do any reaction, you can’t cry, you can’t do anything because you will be really killed if someone knows you are atheist.
And I decide in this night I will do this paper, but I was not really sure, you know. I know it will be really dangerous, but i want to do that. I brought the paper and I brought a pen in my bag, and then we go to Mecca, and when we start to move around the Kaaba, I told my mom I am going to the toilet. I have to go and will [be] back quickly. And she told me, yeah, we will meet in this place.
I try to find a place where I can write quickly and take a photo, and notice where is the [security] camera.
I walk from the people and no one notice I am doing something not fine. And I find a place they are building this place, something broken or something like this. And I write it quickly, and I take it from the notebook and I do it like this in my hand. I remember this moment when I took this photo. I was shocked from myself what I did.”

Heads up, this one's probably gonna be mostly crack.
Ayano x Genka (see?)
Ayano x Kokona
Budo x FUN GIRL
Sakura (gardening club) x Flame Demon
Kashiko x Umeji
Mida x Mr. Haruka
Chojo x Kokuma
Toga x Taro
Megami x Ayano
Taro x Kokona
Crack ships are fun too, but I may be harsher XD for example...
1. Genka would never date a minor, that can only end in Ayano going into SNAP mode, which would make Genka wish she had just agreed to go out with Ayano bc she still has debts to settle a la the delinquents
2. So Kokona is the tutorial character right? She invites Ayano to help her practice a scene that teaches all the basic game mechanics... but during that, Ayano pays VERY close attention to everything Kokona says, which flatters her to no end. Ayano is also there for her when the drama club shuts down due to lack of members, and eventually they start a relationship. Kokona never finds out that Ayano is the reason her friends started dropping like flies.
3. Fun Girl? I don't know any character like that... LMAO anyway- Budo storms up to the science club because they're being too loud and interrupting their monthly meditation, when he catches a glimpse of a crying girl all in monochrome. She looks sick and in horrible pain but she vanishes before Budo can say anything. Over time, he becomes obsessed with finding a way to save this mysterious girl, despite not knowing anything about her. c:
4. Sakura goes to water the plants near the stairwell when she sees someone from the occult club plucking the flowers and dashing back into the room. Angry that they'd hurt the flowers, she rushes into the room and interrupts a ritual that transports her to the demon realm :O the flame demon offers her some of his flame so that she may keep living a normal life, on consequence that her soul will be his upon her death. She thinks of her parents and friends who lament her poor health and she accepts, and he begins to follow her around, urging her to burn everything down, but she just wants to heal the world. When she gets old and finally dies, the flame demon fashions her soul into a padlock on his wrist, chiding her for not burning her name into the world while she had a chance... OKAY thats enough fanfic lmao
5. I've seen people ship this one! And I honestly... don't get it, sorry- why would a delinquent ever go out with a bully, knowing their backstories? Even if the bullies that we know weren't the same ones that bullied the delinquents, there's no way they would have care about the bullies. Kashiko's whole thing is to spread gossip, and Umeji in particular hates gossip. In fact... Yep, just checked, delinquents actually switch to the spiteful persona upon seeing the corpse/murder of a bully. As in they celebrate the bully's death and agree not to tell anyone. So... it's... not very viable, sorry-
6. MIDA RANA AND KOKONA'S DAD???? WHAT????? Pfffft.... okay, well, let's say they meet at a bar or something, and Mr. Haruka is too depressed to fall for Mida's seduction. Of course, by rule, this means that Mida has to keep trying until it works. But the only thing Mr. Haruka cares about is his daughter, and between his endless devotion to her, his willingness to make sacrifices for her, and the maturity with which he handles the situation, Mida actually falls for him. She gives him money to help whenever she can and takes him out on nice dates so that he can care about himself for a change. Kokona was skeptical at first, but after Mida's change of heart, she sees a chance of happiness for her dad and desperately encourages him to go for it. He refuses to marry her tho since that would make her partially liable for his huge debt. She'd move in anyway; she wouldn't make the most traditional mom but she would help Kokona in her own way, and they become a somewhat happy family :D oops, I was supposes to stop writing fanfic...
7. I mean... why not? They're both in the occult club, they have a lot in likes and dislikes in common... yeah ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ don't have much to say about this one lolol
8. Here I am wishing for a same-sex ship! Ask and you shall receive I guess! So this one I think would work out! Because Taro is happy not being in a club, but Toga is bored with all of the clubs and has no idea what he wants to do with his life after graduation. He approaches Taro asking his opinion and Taro teaches him to enjoy the simpler things in life, and they slowly develop a relationship based on that :D and then ayano kills him and tries to think of ways to look androgynous lmao
9. Megami HATES Ayano. This is clear from the start. Ayano represents everything that could take down the Saikou family. However... if Megami were to suddenly decide that the Saikou family SHOULD be destroyed for whatever reason... perhaps with some manipulation from her sworn enemy... she could eventually end up with Ayano 👀
10. YOU KNOW WHAT, Kokona's been through through it. SHE'S BEEN THROUGH IT. On top of dealing with her depressed alcoholic father, his mountains of debt, her guilt over being the cause of that debt and shameful efforts to alleviate his struggles, her guilt over getting her best friend involved, AND THEN BEING MURDERED OVER AND OVER AGAIN IN HORRIFIC WAYS FOR THE SAKE OF DEVELOPMENT, yeah, she deserves a break. Happy end with Senpai. SHE DESERVES IT. I'm not even gonna check their likes and dislikes to see if they're compatible, SHE HAS MCFREAKIN EARNED IT.
WOW that was a lot, but also really fun!! Definitely some interesting ones in here 👀 am i actually gonna start shipping Mida x Mr. Haruka instead of Mida x Yakuza???? Who knows, but thank you for the ask!!!

TOXIC PEOPLE
Every summer, a young girl named Juanita return to their province to be at peace and rest her self away from the toxic of the city where she study. She went there with her grand mother. She wish to celebrate her birthday their so she cannot invite her fake friends because it was so far. Yes, Juanita has a lot of friends but none of them was true. They just act like they really like Juanita but they don’t. Juanita was so tired of pretending. She wanted to have a break. Juanita feels like no one likes her, why? She didn’t even know what’s wrong. Maybe she’s so honest, moody and sometimes weird that’s why they can’t handle her attitude. She was once bullied but she never fight back. But she doesn’t care anymore. The real once will stay only few will understand her.
On the day of her 17th Birthday she wasn’t expecting for some birthday greetings online and even text messages from her friends. Yes, it was her birthday but she realized she was sad because something was missing. She had foods, and their house was prepared for the guest but she has no friends, only the kumares of her Grandmother. She felt sad. She tries to open her Social Media accounts but no one actually greeted. She want to make her self happy, so she prayed, “Lord, unta nay mu greet sa akoa, maski stranger ra Lord replyan jud nako. Unta nay makabalo nga birthday na ko karon,” after she prayed. Her mother surprised her with a new phone. She was so happy and excited she opened it and turn it on. She logged in all her social media accounts on her new phone. For her it was best birthday ever because after 4 years she got her new phone. Before she went to bed, a message sent through online pop up on her screen “Wait, I knew him. Oh yes, this guy, Cepriano. was the ex boyfriend of my friend Via” , “but, why did he chat me? Omg why? Unsaon man diay pag reply?” she was confused she read it. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUANITA. “ what? Ha?” she was so shocked she didn’t even know how to reply, a THANK YOU was sent. Juanita thought that it will be the last, but Cepriano replied again, SORRY I CANNOT GIVE YOU A BIRTHDAY GIFT COZ I DON’T HAVE MONEY. In Juanita’s mind “it’s okay where not even close” she replied HAHA NO. IT’S FINE I’M NOT USED OF RECEIVING GIFTS ON MY BIRTHDAY. Then Cepriano told her SOMEDAY I’M GONNA GIVE YOU WHAT YOU DESERVE. Juanita was very confused that moment why this guy so weird? She tried to ask more questions but Cepriano is not online anymore. So Juanita just sleep, before she sleep she prayed again “Lord, nay ni greet pero ngano kato man gud. Sa kadaghan ngano sya man?” “ay no! I should not question you Lord, Sorry. Thank you for this day” then Juanita go to sleep.
The next morning a noise coming from Juanita’s Messenger account wake her up. GOOD MORNING JUANITA a message from Cepriano. “OMG, this guy is so weird” GOOD MORNING WIERDO she replied. Cepriano relplied HA? ME WEIRD? WHY? “alangan mukalit rakag chat sa akoa kabalo baya mo nga marupok ko dayun mag Good morning ka dira, dawbig ma issuehan ta, ex kapanaman sa akong amiga” AY HAHAHA NEVERMIND BUT WOULD YOU MIND IF I ASK, DO YOU HAVE A GIRLFREIND RIGHT NOW? Juanita replied. NO I DON’T HAVE ANY GIRLFRIEND SINCE VIA AND I BROKE UP 3 YEARS AGO. Cepriano answered. OH SO YOU MEAN YOURE 3 YEARS SINGLE? Juanita ask YES BUT WOULD YOU MIND IF I COURT YOU? I MEAN YES THIS WEIRD BUT SINCE I FIST SAW YOU BEFORE YOURE SO CUTE, I LIKE CUTE GIRLS. Cepriano replied with heart emojies. Juanita was surprised she sreams “OMG!!!” because Juanita’s life was so boring she played everything YES. YOURE MY BOYFRIEND NOW, NO NEED TO COURT THAT’S A WASTE OF TIME she replied to Cepriano. IS IT OKAY ARE SURE? I MEAN THIS LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIP ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THIS? Cepriano ask. YES, I MEAN WE CANNOT PREDICT WHATS GONNA HAPPEN NEXT BUT ONE THING IS SURE, I’M YOURS AND YOUR MINE. Then in just an hour Juanita got her first boyfriend the exlover of her friend Via.
Juanita and Cepriano choose to hide their relationship from public. But sometimes she ask her self “Seryoso ni dzai? Gi uyab nimo si Cepriano?” she was hesitating but yah, she just go with the flow of what will happen on their relationship. They exchange Social Media accounts for them to make sure that no one will cheat. Juanita’s life was no longer boring because she had someone to talk to unlike what she used to before. After their first monthsary they both decided to open their relationship in public. All of their friends was surprised others are happy and supporting their relationship while the others are against it, especially the friends of Juanita. After the big revelation of Juanita and Cepriano, Via sent a Message to Juanita. GIRL WHY YOU DID NOT TELL ME ABOUT YOUR RELATIONSHIP? ITS BEEN A MONTH? HOW? Via ask Juanita sarcastically I DON’T WANT YOU TO JUDGE US WE BOTH LOVE EACH OTHER AND ITS BEEN 3 YEARS SINCE YOU TWO BROKE UP. I THINK THERES NOTHING WRONG WOTH IT. Juanita replied. YES! I ALREADY FORGET HIM BUT TO TELL YOU THIS, I’M GONNA WARN YOU. CEPRIANO IS NOT AS GOOD AS WHAT YOU THINK. WE BROKE UP BEFORE BECAUSE HE CHEATED ON ME. YOU KNOW JONISSA, HER FRIEND RIGHT? SHE TOOK CEPRIANO FROM ME. BECAUSE SHE WAS MORE PRETTIER THAN ME, CEPRIANO CHOOSE HER. I’M JUST TELLING YOU BE WARE OF WHOM YOU TRUST TO. CEPRIANO IS A CHEATER. Juanita don’t mind Via. “Maybe she’s jealous because Cepriano is mine now. Okay ill just ignore them. Why cant they be happy for me? Oh I forgot, they are my fake friends, hmm whatever you guys” Juanita has trust issues espeacially with her friends. But sometimes she also thinks “ what if tinoud kaha to ba? nga gina binuangan ra ko ni Cepriano” she was asking Cepriano everyday DO YOU REALLY LOVE ME? ONLY ME? and Cepriano will answer YES BABE I LOVE YOU. Juanita and Cepriano are both in love with each other even if its against all odds they fight for what they feel.
After 5 months of staying in Province, Juanita and her Grandmother went back to the city. Juanita was so exited for the first time she is happy travelling back. After 5 months of Long Distance Relationship with Cepriano, they finally met. The toxic city for her turns into a magical romantic place for her. Cepriano aked her for a date, it was the first time Juanita was ask for a date she was so glad. But somewhat she think again about what Via tell her. “ what if di lagi ni sya seryoso bay?” Juanita was in silent for a minute, Cepriano ask her. “Are you okay Juanita?” Juanita answered “Yes, maybe I’m just not used of dating like this hope you understand. This is all my first time” Cepriano don’t want to make feel Juanita awkward she always want Juanita to be happy, so he decided to bring Juanita to their house and meet his parents. “Juanita, I want you to meet my mom. Promise she is funny you two have the same personality” He told Juanita, “But I’m not prepared Babe, what if they won’t like me” she ask. “No, Babe I swear you’ll be fine” so after the date, Juanita and Cepriano went to the house where the family of Cepriano are waiting. “ Ma, Pa this is Juanita. My girlfriend” Juanita was like “OMG unsa naman ni nganong meet the parents naman ni uy?” Juanita look so nervous, Cepriano’s mom hold her hands and say “Iha, did you know that to all the other girlfriends of my son before, you are the first girl he brought here. It means there is something special on you. I’m so glad our boy has someone who love him” at that moment after knowing that she was the first girl who step on Cepriano’s house Juanita forget all of what Via tell her that bother her everytime. Juanita was flatterd “really tita? Its also my first time to meet someone’s parents. Thank you so much tita” It was all clear to Juanita that Cepriano loves her so much and he made Juanita feel that she is different from the other.
Their relationship last long because they both know how to manage their time in school and their time to each other. They been through a lot of misunderstanding but they always find a way to make things okay. Juanita was changed a lot. She is no longer a sad, loner and boring person, Cepriano changed her. She didn’t expect that her “SIGE NA UYAB NATA UY UNSA PAMAY DUGAYAN KALAS KALAS RANA SA ORAS” will last to a One year relationship. Yes, their One year anniversary is coming! Juanita and Cepriano was so exited they planned on what to do. Juanita tell her self “mao najud ni sya ghurl ayaw na ni sayangi” “bahalag wala ni nanguyab at least he stayed with you for almost a year” she thought everything was settled and perfect.
But one night, before their anniversary, a call from a stranger changed everything, it was a girl named Xireal talk to Juanita, she said “ HI JUANITA I DIDN’T MEAN TO INTERUPT IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH MY FRIEND CEPRIANO I KNOW YOU TWO ARE IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER BUT, I WANT TO TELL YOU THIS BEFORE I JUST DON’T KNOW IF IT’S RIGHT IF….” Juanita cut her and “PLEASE JUST TELL ME DIRECTLY WHATS WRONG? WHATS GOING ON?” Juanita tell Xireal loudly. Xireal answered “CEPRIANO WAS WAITING FOR HER EX GIRLFRIEND JONISSA, SHE’S NOW STUDYING IN CLEAVLAND IN THE US AND SHE’LL RETURN HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES NEXT SCHOOL YEAR. CEPRIANO STILL LOVE JONISSA BUT SHE ALSO LOVES YOU.” Xireal was a bit nervous if she tell Juanita about this Cepriano will be mad at him. “WHAT? YOU WANT ME TO BELIEVE YOU? NO. CEPRIANO LOVES ME, BESIDES TOMMOROW IS OUR ANNIVERSARY” Jaunita answer. “ JUANITA LISTEN YES, CEPRIANO PLAN ALL THIS TIME WAS TO MAKE JONISSA GET JELOUS, CEPRIANO ONLY WANTED TO USE YOU FOR JONISSA TO FEEL JELOUS BECAUSE SHE LOVE JONISSA AND LAST NIGHT CEPRIANO AND I TALKED AND HE’S JUST WAITING FOR YOUR BREAKUP SO HE AND JONISSA WE’LL BE BACK TO EACH OTHER. IM SORRY TO SAY THIS TO YOU. WHY DON’T YOU ASK CEPRIANO ABOUT THIS. BYE” Juanita’s world collapse that night. Even if its not confirmed from Cepriano, she cried so much until she fell asleep.
The next morning was Juanita’s 18TH birthtday at same time their One year Anniversary. Cepriano prepared a big surprise for Juanuta, he invited all of their friends, then Juanita came to the place and all of their friends greeted her “Happy birthday Jaunita” but Juanita didn’t answer them and hurriedly she went to Cepriano sarcastically and ask about what Xireal tell her last night, the crowd was shocked. “is it true Juanito? You only used me? You still love Jonissa don’t you?” Sadly, Cepriano said “Yes Jaunita. I still love Jonissa. I’m sorry” a slap from Juanita’s hand hits the face of Cepriano “How dare you do this to me, I love you so much I didn’t listen to my friends because I love you! OMG I am so blind! I thought you love me, you only used me” Juanita was crying so loud “ I’m sorry Juanita to be honest I love you too but I can resist this feeling that I love Jonissa more. I’m so sorry” Juanita again slap Cepriano “ Lets break up. Its over!” Juanita turned her back to Cepriano and left him alone. Juanita’s special day turns to a tragic, all the bad things happened and her life before back to his mind “ tanan nalang jud mali sa akoa. Walay jud naka sabot sa ako. Why I cant be happy?” a young girl Juanita who only want to find someone who can understand her and someone who accept her turned back again to a sad and loner girl. She's afraid Via will judge her because of her wrong decisions. She was so tired of all the bullshits in her life. then a loud scream of a young girl was heared near the bridge.
The Day after her 18th birthday. Jaunita’s Body was found floating in the river. It should be be the happiest day for her and her friends but sadly Juanita life was over.

Survey of Movie "Baahubali - The Conclusion"
Tumblr media
I got a call from my more youthful sister that the tickets had been reserved and the family would watch the motion picture "Baahubali-The Conclusion" in Telugu language on April 29th, 2017 at Eros Theater in New Delhi. Not surprisingly, I was energized and guaranteed her that I will arrive at the performance center legitimately after my working hours or I would take the consent to go along with them at the theater. Notwithstanding, it was concluded that I should arrive at home and go with them. Every single one of us was energized. In any case, my sister, who was at the driver's seat, was pleased to report that she has seen the motion picture in the Hindi language on April 28th, 2017. She was hyper about it as if it was an extraordinary accomplishment for her. In addition, she needed to look at the film in the two dialects. She guaranteed me that she won't impart the story to me.
The venue was jam pressed and everybody needed to watch the motion picture without losing a solitary scene. Every single one of the individual landed in time and took the ownership of their sets. I wish we were so dependable in our classes as well! Youngsters requested their folks for the enormous pack of popcorn and soda pops. How might I miss them? I needed to complete two things together-watch and chomp! Much obliged the film started on schedule.
As indicated by the Central Board of Film Certification, the name of the motion picture was "Baahubali-The Conclusion". It was in Telugu language. It was hued one and was cinemascope. The date of discharge was April 24th, 2017 and under the Universal class (that is intended for the two grown-ups and kids). Nonetheless, it was plainly referenced that the motion picture must be viewed under parental direction. The name of the candidate to sign was Shri Y.N. Sobhandari for M/s Arka Media Works Entertainment LLP, Hyderabad and other underwriter was Shri Pahlaj Nihalani, Chairperson, CBFC, Mumbai. The term of the film was for 167 minutes and 30 seconds. My review here https://123movieshub.eu
Stunning! I enjoyed the titles of the film for following reasons:
a. PC designs and fakers were utilized for different sorts of creatures appeared in the motion picture like pony, elephant, parrot, pig, bulls, flying creatures, ducks, buffalo, hog, hawk, swan, and so forth.
b. The group expressed gratitude toward organizations, advanced film, travel accomplices, money trade office in Hyderabad, human services accomplice, online life channels, settlement partner, chocolate and confectionary accomplice, sustenance, versatile, correspondence, Reliance Fresh to get different products, multiplex and Jewelry accomplice, area and experience accomplice, stationary, informing accomplice "howdy", office partner, beauty accomplice to "Lux", wellness accomplice, Make a Wish Campaign, merchandizing and authorizing through ICICI Bank, Simba, and so forth , protection suppliers, their brokers were IDBI and Kotak Bank, Hyderabad, their financers, media and radio accomplices, and so on. They remembered the commitment and support of single individual moreover. That is something to be acknowledged for the accomplishment of the film.
c. Extremely elaborative and particular foundation was appeared in the titles. This is must for catching the consideration and focal point of the group of spectators. Credit for their reasoning forces.
d. The film was a mix of both genuine shots and interactive media graphical structures. Along these lines, consideration of the kids was at its most extreme level.
e. Titles were giving, partner and connecting the network between Baahubali Part 1 and Baahubali-The Conclusion. The short story of the section One of the motion picture was exhibited in the Titles of the film (one more likely than not saw the group of spectators in the theater-I saw that every one of them were dumbstruck and not by any means a solitary individual was squinting their eyes-I thought motion pictures for sure assume a significant job in learning and instructing ourselves, and there is no compelling reason to buckle down with the people. This will do ponders in the classes of Law, Literature, History, Sociology and Journalism and Mass Media. ).
The motion picture was exhibited by K. Raghavendra Rao, generation of an Arka Mediaworks and inventive film by S. S. Rajamouli. The verses and exchanges were composed by Manoj Muntashir. The music was by M. M. Keeravani. The cinematography by K. K. Senthil Kumar. Distinctive shaded representations were presented toward the start of the film with the tune at the foundation. The makers of the motion picture were Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni. The screenplay and Direction was by S. S. Raja Mouli. The principle star cast was Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishna, Nassar and Tamannaah. It was conveyed by Arka Media Works for Telugu rendition, K. Creations for Tamil variant, Global United Media for Malayalam form and Dharma Productions for Hindi adaptation. It was discharged in 4K superior quality organization.
When the titles are finished, the story starts for us. Our saint Amarendra Baahubali-accomplishes his triumph in the war zone. The Queen Mother is glad for this accomplishment and pronounces that he will be delegated as the future ruler of Maahishmati. Her words ended up being the celebration minutes for the individuals in the realm. In any case, her very own and genuine child Bhallaladeva and spouse are against her desires. Her significant other beginnings impelling Bhallaladeva against her. This is the defining moment in the film.
The Queen Mother educates Amarendra and Katappa to take the voyage through their realm so as to acquire information regarding their matters and prosperity. Amarendra meets Devasena and is pulled in by her appeal and abilities. They become hopelessly enamored with one another. Before long this data spans to Bhallaladeva and he makes an arrangement to make the contrasts among Shivagami and Amarendra. He tells his mom that he has experienced passionate feelings for Devasena and communicates his craving to wed her. The proposition is sent to Devasena from the side of Shivagami and is dismissed by Devasena. The Queen is irritated at this disposition of Devasena and teaches Amarendra to catch, tie her as detainee and present her at the court of Maahishmati.
Amarendra helps and shields the realm of Kuntala from their foes called Pindaris. With his astounding abilities, Amarendra overwhelms Pindaris and recoveries the realm. Devasena was interested to think about reality and requests to uncover his character. She comes to realize that Amarendra is the future lord of Maahishmati and won't be the detainee. He vows to secure her humility and weds her. Them two leave for Maahishmati. Shivagami comes to think about reality and is disturbed about it. As of now, she feels regretful for not staying faithful to her obligation to Bhallaladeva. This is the principal point where the defining moment of the story can be seen in the motion picture.
The contrasts among Shivagami and Amarendra kick off starting here. Before long Shivagami asks Amarendra to leave the realm with his pregnant spouse. With the assistance of abhorrence thoughts, Bijjaladeva is fruitful in making more contrasts between them. In one situation, he announces that Amarendra is attempting to kill Bhallaladeva so as to be the King. She arranges Katappa to slaughter Amarendra furtively with the goal that the realm is spared from disharmony between the illustrious family and the subjects. Thus, Amarendra is cut to death by Katappa, the sovereign is educated about the misleading thoughts of Bijjaladeva and Bhallaladeva and her misstep in making a decision about her very own kin. Meanwhile, Devasena brings forth a child kid and lands to the royal residence in the wake of knowing the demise of her significant other. Shivagami reports that the new borne child is Mahendra Baahubali and future ruler of Maahishmati.
Bhallaladeva is astonished and arranges his warriors to catch the Queen, slaughter the child and detain Devasena. The Queen escapes from the royal residence and kicks the bucket soon. The child is saved by the average folks and called as Shivudu. Before long he comes to think about his detained mother Devasena from Katappa and begins to look all starry eyed at Avantika. He battles against the bad form and is successful at last.
Positive purposes of the motion picture:
a) No creature was harmed or abused in any scene. They get full stamps from every creature darling, naturalists and eco-minding rationalists and women's activists.
b) This implies innovativeness was at its most elevated level in the media research centers for the colleagues.
Else they may have missed on the moment subtleties of the specific scene. There is a need to acclaim the whole group.
c) The Police Commissioner and his group were uniquely expressed gratitude toward for enabling the film unit to deal with territories of Rachakonda in Andhra Pradesh for the shooting of a portion of the scenes in the motion picture.
d) The crowd were applauding and getting a charge out of the comic scenes present in the motion picture.
e) Elaborate endeavors were taken to make wonderful visual and sound impacts in the film.
f) Game was likewise created on the arrival of the motion picture.
g) Care had been taken to depict the substances of the chronicled era9as this was a verifiable motion picture however not taped on a specific ruler or sovereign or realm).
h) The Prince had been prepared and instructed in all the individual abilities required for the future ruler in the motion picture. For instance, the Amarendra Baahubali realized how to go out on a limb, handle the circumstances both deliberate and unconstrained one, nearness of the administration characteristics, minute perception aptitudes (for instance when Prince visits the realm of Kuntala, he sees that the townspeople were utilizing their solid assembled cows for different purposes and same ability was useful and utilized when there was the need of great importance to battle against the amazing armed force of Pindaris), being caution and helping the military of the other realm without designating the work to other people, and so on.
I) Sensitivity of the Prince towards his own affection, keeping guarantees, battling against the disasters, supporting his very own subjects, keeping up different sorts of connections, relinquishing his very own life for the realm and mother, securing powerless subjects and ladies are important and learning exercises for all.
j) No underestimation of the people was seen in the film. This is the need of great importance in the contemporary society wherein ladies a

Experimental choreographer Anna Halprin singlehandedly transformed the language of dance, shocking the status quo with radical new forms of self-expression.
Text by Caroline Ryder
After WWII, legendary dancer and choreographer Anna Halprin decided that everyone is a dancer (even if they got no rhythm), and that every movement is a dance (even the act of putting one’s socks on). With that in mind, she founded what we now call “postmodern dance” – an art movement whose egalitarian, anti-authoritarian ideology had more in common with future phenomena such as punk rock, street art and flash mobs than with the ballet or modern dance of her time. Unlike her predecessors, Anna Halprin had a warts’n’all approach to dance. She and her dancers were sometimes naked during performances, and they refused to be corralled onto a stage, performing their dances in the streets, in nature, among audiences, or wherever they felt like it. When invited to dance at a lunch for important art patrons, they made a stage in the middle of the room, sat at a table, and forced the audience to watch them eat lunch. Sometimes they gave audience members a “score”, instructing them to get up and join the dance. This approach was seen as inclusive or insulting, depending on your viewpoint. She really infuriated those who believed that dance was purely aesthetic – something pretty, polite and non-confrontational. Not that she cared what they thought. “I never make my choices on the basis of whether people are going to like it,” she says, speaking from her home in the coastal forests of Marin, northern California. “I have to make my choices based on whether it is good art.” By constantly challenging authority and shunning homogeneity, Halprin and her peers helped lay the groundwork for the hippie counter culture, as well as for punks, culture jammers, hipster aerobicisers and iconoclasts the world over (if Banksy had been a dancer, he’d probably have danced with Anna Halprin. And did we mention her daughter was married to Dennis Hopper?). Today, she’s still dancing (still sometimes naked), still pissing some people off, and still inspiring most of the rest. In fact, Anna Halprin is, without doubt, one of the most badass 90-year-olds you’ll ever meet.  Born Anna Schuman on July 13, 1920 in Winnetka, Illinois, Halprin started going to ballet classes at the age of four. When the other kids laughed at her euphoric, energetic style of dancing, Anna’s mother took her out of that class, and enrolled her in a modern dance class, where she studied the techniques of modern dance pioneer Isadora Duncan. It was a much better fit for Halprin’s freeform tendencies. “We had lots of fun skipping and hopping and waving balloons and moving scarves through space. I liked it very much, and people didn’t laugh at me,” she says. In high school, she was introduced to the techniques of second-generation modern dance goddesses, Martha Graham and Doris Humphrey. By this point, Halprin was already sure she had found her life’s path. Aged 18, she was invited to move to New York City and join Doris Humphrey’s dance company – a huge honour, but her parents said no – they wanted her to go to college first. She hoped to get into Bennington College, a women’s college in Vermont, but the school had already met their Jewish quota, so she was rejected. “In all the private schools in those days they had restrictions on Jews,” she explains. “If the Jewish quota was filled and you were Jewish, you didn’t get in.” She was depressed about not getting into Bennington, but what felt like failure turned out to be a blessing.  The rest of the world woke up to her revolutionary approach in 1965, when she and her students (including both her daughters Daria and Rana) performed Halprin’s “Parades And Changes”, one of the most controversial dances ever seen, at the time. It’s a sweet, innocent dance, in which the dancers happen to become entirely nude. “I chose the task of dressing and undressing as my inspiration,” she explains. I thought that this would be very beautiful, because you could see the body as it undressed in many different forms, and it would have a sculptural feeling.” Her studio in Marin, where she still works today, had an outdoor theatre, a wooden deck built by her husband. “Out there, we were very close to the feeling of nature. It is nestled in a wooded area, and it is very private. It didn’t feel coquettish or seductive to be nude in that environment.” On stage in New York City theatreland however, the nudity was shocking. As they danced, Halprin heard members of the audience whispering “Oh no, they’re not really going to undress…are they?” But they did. In the corner of her eye, Halprin noticed a couple of cops lurking backstage. “I figured, ‘This is New York, maybe it’s a custom,’” she says. The next day, Halprin received a summons for arrest for indecent exposure. She left New York and didn’t go back for ten years. She and her students became outcasts of sorts, shunned by the modern dance circuit. But once again, just like the time she was laughed out of ballet school, or turned down by a college for being Jewish, being rejected by the establishment was a blessing in disguise for Halprin. No longer able to perform or tour heavily, she and her dancers had the space and time in which to fully explore, experiment with and evolve the artform they had created – postmodern dance – as well as the healing and therapeutic capabilities of dance. In 1978, Halprin and her daughter Daria, a psychologist and former actress, would found the Tamalpa Institute, teaching “personal, interpersonal and social transformation, teaching new models for health, psychology, art and communication”. If it all sounds very tripped out California, well, maybe that’s because it is. Had Daria not had such an unconventional California upbringing, perhaps she would not have been so well suited to co-found the ultra-progressive Tamalpa Institute with her mother. And perhaps she would not have been so well suited to play the lead female role in Antonioni’s cult classic Zabriskie Point – a 1970 art film that captured the essence of the psychedelic counterculture, featuring music by Pink Floyd, the Grateful Dead and the Rolling Stones. Daria was perfect in the role of a young California hippie chick tripping out in the desert – she had been tripping out all her life, playing and dancing with the most talented avant-garde artists of the time on her mom’s wooden deck, leading a childhood so bohemian, so unconventional, some kids weren’t allowed to come and play at their house… the Halprins were that far out. Daria was married to Dennis Hopper from 1972 to 1976, and had one daughter with him, Ruthana. That’s a long time ago now. Today at their Tamalpa Institute, Daria and her mother work with terminally ill HIV/Aids and cancer patients, as well as students of movement. Halprin has borne witness to the healing power of dance many times. One man, after a two-month workshop with Halprin, drew a selfportrait that showed fire coming out of the side of his head. Six months later he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. “I did a similar thing, made a portrait, and that’s how I discovered I had cancer,” says Halprin, who was diagnosed with colon cancer in 1972. “Your body is your instrument for expression, but your body can also lead you to information that can otherwise be hidden.” She has written a book about how to heal through dance, and made several videos. Maybe to some people, cancer isn’t something to dance about. But to Halprin, dancing is the only response to the realities of life. And perhaps its no coincidence that she looks about 30 years younger than her age, and is still as provocative and focused as she was in her youth. You can spend an hour or so of your life getting to know Anna by watching the documentary Breath Made Visible, made by one of her former students, Ruedi Gerber. It’s a touching film, especially when you realise that so much of Halprin’s life has been a love story, with Lawrence. The affection between them is palpable, and enough to bring tears to anyone’s eyes. When Lawrence became sick (he eventually passed away in October 2010), she created the dance “Intensive Care” – a haunting, nightmarish exploration of death and dying that evokes Japanese butoh horror dances in a hospital ward. “That was the most recent thing I did that people started walking out on,” she says. Still, you get the sense that shocking people is the furthest thing from Halprin’s mind when she’s creating a dance. Understanding the images in her head, as inspired by the emotional events of her life, and translating those into movement – that is her life’s work, and will continue to be. Whether it’s shocking or not is irrelevant to her. And even though she may be 90, don’t ever expect Anna Halprin to stop dancing. “Looking young, feeling young, I don’t know if it is in my DNA or it is the demon dancer in me that makes it so, but I feel I am working on dances all the time. I can’t stop. I don’t feel that my age is going to stop me from dancing. I just dance differently. I don’t dance now the way I dance when I was in my 20s or 40s. I dance the way I do when I am 90. And those dances are just as important.”

fire & desire - juliantina fanfic
get caught up on: archiveofourown
(3/?)
“Do you trust me?”
“Of course.”
“Then don’t be afraid.”
Valentina eyes drops down to Juliana’s lips and she already has Juliana feeling like she’s on fire. She uses her thumb to trace Juliana’s bottom lip as their foreheads are pressed against each other’s. “Calme..” She whispers.
Juliana closes her eyes and feels Valentina’s warm and moist lips pressed against hers. How could someone have such perfect lips? She follows Valentina’s pace, where it’s not incredibly slow to where their lips aren’t moving together and where it’s not insanely fast and messy. They were in the perfect middle. Juliana gets the hang of Valentina’s lips moving along with hers, that she takes her right hand and rests it on the side of Valentina’s neck. Her grip was light for support. She feels Valentina’s tongue softly brushing against her bottom lip, and she invites her in. Their tongues danced together softly, in sync. Just the perfect pattern.
Juliana is the first one to break the kiss and she was blushing. “How was that?”
Valentina looked at her like she’s never been more impressed in her whole life. “Are you sure that was your first kiss?” She grins.
Juliana laughs and then looks down at her hands. “Val, can I ask you something?” The alcohol just ripped down Juliana’s filters. She doesn’t care what comes out her mouth at this point. What a feeling.
“Anything.”
“Do you love Lucho?” She looks in Valentina’s eyes, searching for the truth.
She’s staring at her phone screen, contemplating on sending Valentina straight to voicemail or just simply answering because the girl is most likely worried about her whereabouts anyway. Once she was going answer the phone call, she waited too long to the point where the voicemail box met Valentina first. She lets a breath out, feeling relief, but she knows she can’t run away from Valentina forever.
Her text tone goes off.
“1 Text from Val.”
Val: Hey, you left without saying bye.. Are you okay?
She remembers that Valentina absolutely hates it when she feels abandoned and now she’s feeling guilty for it. Maybe she should have left a note next to her bed or something, just anything would have been nice instead of leaving Valentina completely hanging like that.
Her phone rings again and for the second time, it’s Valentina but this time Juliana doesn’t wait to make a decision for too long again.
“Hola, Val.”
“Juls!” Valentina sounds like she had so much relief in her voice. “I’m sorry for calling twice in a row, I just needed to hear your voice.”
“Don’t be sorry, I’m the one who left before you even woke up.” I’ve waken up next to you a million times, but this time we were both naked. I didn’t know what to do. Juliana thinks in her head.
“How are you feeling?”
She looks at herself and remembers that she’s sitting on the bathroom floor. “Like death.” She gives a weak chuckle. “I don’t think I’m ever going to touch tequila again in my life.”
Valentina laughs, “I wish you stayed, Chivis makes the best menudo for these times.”
“That sounds absolutely perfect right now, actually.” Juliana groans, feeling her stomach cramping.
“Perfect. I’ll be at your house in 10 minutes.” Valentina says and Juliana’s eyes widen. She feels like her chest was about to explode because she’s never been so nervous before in her life. “Juls?” Valentina’s voice snaps her out of her thoughts.
“You don’t have to go out your way for me, Val. I’ll be okay,” She insisted.
“I’m bringing you medicine too,” Valentina just completely ignored what Juliana just said and it made Juliana smile. There’s no getting through to that girl. When Valentina wants to do something, she just goes and right ahead does it without thinking about it. That’s her favorite thing about her.
“Alright.” She accepts that there’s no winning on her end with Valentina.
“Okay!” Valentina sounds excited and then they hang up on each other. Juliana must admit that she feels better that Valentina is not acting the same way she is. Valentina is incredibly comfortable and it makes her feel safer, like she’s not going to lose her.
“Lucho..” Valentina sighs hearing his name. “I don’t know. He’s an asshole.”
“Then why are you with him?”
“You know, I ask myself that a lot.” Valentina chuckles. “I think when my dad was alive, I was trying to have this perfect image of a daughter for him. So, with being Lucho would show him that I have a ‘strong’ man in my life and he would be proud.” She puts up air quotes with her hands when she described Lucho as “strong”. “Now that he’s gone, I’m not really sure why I’m still with that asshole.” For the first, Juliana is seeing Valentina a different light. She’s learned more and more about this girl every day but never would she had thought she would learn that Valentina was seeking acceptance to feel complete from anyone.
Juliana watches Valentina reach for the tequila bottle, pouring another shot for the both of them. “Ay, Vale. Another one?” Her eyes widen.
“One more isn’t going to hurt us.”
And it didn’t. Juliana is just completely out of it but she’s trying her best to keep her composure. She’s staring at Valentina’s lips as the girl downs yet another shot. Valentina lips curve into a smirk and she realizes that she’s caught staring at the girl.
“Juls?” Valentina says her name so lightly.
“Yeah?”
“I don’t want to talk about Lucho anymore.”
Juliana nods and tucks in another falling hair strands behind Valentina’s ear.
“What do you want to talk about instead?” She asks.
Valentina leans in closer to her and she feels hesitant. “We don’t have to talk about anything.” Her words vibrate close to Juliana’s lips. This isn’t another lesson, this is real. She doesn’t pull away this time, she’s allowing Valentina to do whatever she wants and she’s completely okay with it. When she feels Valentina’s lips against hers once more, she feels much more confident than the first kiss. She has more of an understanding on what she’s doing now.
Her hand is behind Valentina’s neck, pulling her closer into her body. She wants to feel every part of Valentina. Valentina breaks the kiss and Juliana feels like she was completely melting in her, it made her instantly miss the girl’s warm lips. Valentina stands up from where they were sitting on the ground and has her hand out for Juliana. She takes Val’s hand and next thing she knows, Valentina’s pulls her up and has her against the wall.
“Are you okay with this?” Valentina breathing heavy.
“You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to this for,” Juliana’s voice was filled with honesty, without a feeling of regret in her chest at all.
Valentina turns Juliana’s chin to the side and presses her lips against Juliana’s neck. Her hands finds its way exploring Valentina’s back underneath cotton, with her nails digging in skin. Valentina lifts her shirt over her head and Juliana does the same thing. They taste each other’s lips once more before finding their way on the bed.
Her legs straddle Valentina and she begins to return the feeling of lips contacted with neck.
Her mom was out working at the moment, thank god, because she doesn’t know how her mother would react if she were to see Valentina at their front door with a huge bowl of menudo in hand. Don’t get her wrong, her mom is appreciative of Valentina being nice, but at this point they lost count of the amount of times that Valentina has showed up to their front door with fresh cooked food in a glass container for them.
“Val, you didn’t have to-“
“Too late!” Valentina says as she walks passed Juliana, inviting herself in the house. She’s used to this.
Valentina goes straight to the cupboard and prepares a bowl of menudo for Juliana. She watches Val go through each cabinet as she sits down by the dinner table. Once the girl was done, she walks up to Juliana and sets the bowl down in front of her saying, “Comer.” Eat. Juliana hates to admit it to herself but she loves when Valentina is pushy because there’s never a moment where her intentions were bad.
“Gracias,” She says before beginning to slowly dig into the menudo.
“Juls..” Valentina calls for her name and takes Juliana’s left hand, the hand that isn’t being used to spoon through the menudo.
She meets eyes with Val.
“Yeah?”
“Why did you leave this morning?”
And suddenly, her chest feels like paper being crumpled up. I don’t know, Valentina. Maybe because I am insanely in love with you and the thought of you knowing scares me. It’s easy to say this in Juliana’s head but aloud.. That’s another story.
“Val..” She groans, “Everything hurts and spinning, can we talk about it tomorrow?” Hangover excuse. At least she thought of something.
Valentina nods. “Right, I forgot you have a weak stomach.”
“Watch it, I’m strong okay?” Juliana rebuttals and it just makes Val giggle.
“I brought you some medicine, but I think I got the perfect thing for you,” Valentina touches Juliana’s forehead with the back of her hand.
“And what is that?”
Valentina bites her bottom lip into smile and rubs Juliana’s forehead as a message with the following words, “Sana sana, colita de rana,” Heal, heal little frog tail.
Juliana burst out laughing and Valentina couldn’t help herself to not laugh as she continues to say the most basic line they both heard growing up whenever they were sick or hurt.
“Si no sana hoy, sanara mañana!” If it doesn’t heal today, it’ll heal tomorrow. Valentina finishes off with joy in her voice, as if she actually cured Juliana’s hangover.
“Muchas gracias,” Juliana watches the girl sit back down on the chair near her.
“De nada.” Valentina says while she opens the medicine tablet and takes two ibuprofens out. “I’ll get you a glass of water-“
Juliana reaches out for Valentina’s hand to stop her from walking back to the kitchen. “Val, I appreciate it but you really don’t have to take care of me like this,” She said.
Valentina kneels down near Juliana, looking up to her with her blue eyes almost compelling Juliana. “I’m the one that brought you feeling like this mess, at least let me help you get out of it.” And with that, she stands up slowly and presses her lips softly against Juliana’s forehead before walking back to the kitchen.
For the first time, she’s feeling like Valentina could possibly reciprocate her feelings for her and she realizes the feeling in her chest is gone.
Valentina’s phone vibrates on the table and the phone was just so close to Juliana, she couldn’t help but to glance at it.
Lucho: Babe
Lucho: Where the hell are you?
Lucho: Answer me
Lucho: ??
That’s right, there’s still that thing in Valentina’s life. Even his question marks sounds aggressive. Juliana wishes she can take the disappointing feeling away from her heart.

Note
So are there any plans to change certain scenes when we meet Mom if we named our MC Rana? Cause I chuckled slightly as she kept calling us both Rana with no distinction :D
I'll likely add code to prevent players from choosing Rana because Salyra would not have named both her children Rana 😅

Awesome of the Year 2018: The Books
Tumblr media
Happy New Year! ‘Tis the season for year end lists left and right as we attempt to figure out the best of everything from 2018. And of course, as a fan of books, music, and movies, it’s only right to get in on the list-making. Over the next week or so, I’ll be sharing my 2018 favorite lists. First up: books! This year, I set my Goodreads reading challenge at 40 books, and actually passed it. I’ve been setting arbitrary book goals for years, but I’m pretty sure this is the first time I’ve succeeded since 2007. Probably because of all the graphic novels and comic trades I read this year WHICH TOTALLY COUNT BTW. Ahem. Anyway. This isn’t really a best of 2018 list so much as a Here’s a Bunch of Books I Really Liked in 2018 list, split up into categories. I hope you’ll find something interesting here, especially if you’re looking for ways to spend bookstore or Amazon gift cards you got for Christmas… ;)
Tumblr media
Newish Books by Rad Christian Women:
Every Arbitrary Book Goal should have a small correlated goal attached. This year mine was to make sure I read at least 50% women authors… and there have been a lot of GREAT new books from women writers in the past few years. If the “Christian women” section of your local bookstore makes you cringe a little inside too, check out these three wonderful books, all released in the past couple years:
Courage, Dear Heart by Rebecca K. Reynolds (NavPress, 2018)
Anyone who has read Rebecca’s writing knows she needed to write a book. She has a sharp mind, a poet's soul, a scientist's eye, and the most beautiful, tender heart. Also, she's an incredible writer who loves her readers with a love that radiates off every page. Buy a copy for everyone you know.
Wearing God by Lauren F. Winner (HarperOne, 2017) Girl Meets God was a formative book in my early 20s, and I’ve always meant to read more from this author, but somehow haven't. I finally picked up this one and oh man, for a solid month afterward I couldn’t stop thinking about it. With the eye of a scholar and the heart of a poet, Winner draws on personal stories, deep Biblical study, and a love of language to explore lesser known metaphors for God. Liturgy of the Ordinary by Tish Harrison Warren (InterVarsity Press, 2016)
Several years ago, James K.A. Smith’s Desiring the Kingdom helped me see liturgy in a new way, as not just religious practice, but the embedded routines that shape us. In this book, Tish Warren brings that idea to life as she walks through an ordinary day explores the holiness in our most mundane moments of living. You may not look at brushing your teeth or losing your keys the same way again.

Good Stories
This year, fiction reading was… all over the place? I don’t know if I read much that was OMG amazing, but here are a few that were fun…
The Fairyland Series 2-5 by Catherynne M. Valente (Feiwel & Friends, 2012-2015)
I am notoriously awful at finishing book series. I read the first Fairyland book maybe… two years ago? Yikes. Just finished the last one and wow, so fun. Colorful characters, a whimsical narrator, crazy locations, and a whole lot of heart make this Victorian fairytale meets contemporary fantasy a delight to read.
Til We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis (Harcourt, 1956)
Lewis’ contemporary retelling of the Cupid and Pschye myth through the eyes of Psyche’s jealous sister Orual. Second read for me, and even better this time around. Pretty sure this is Lewis’ storytelling at his best.
Strange Practice by Vivian Shaw (Orbit, 2017)
This was a year to embrace fun, nerdy reads. So there was the Star Trek spoof Redshirts (with a plot twist I totally saw coming... and I am not good at guessing plot twists) and my first trip into the Star Wars extended book universe (or whatever the heck they call it these days) and… this. A story about a doctor for the undead in London, trying to solve the mysteries surrounding a murderous cult and keep her monster friends safe. Not the greatest, but a fun Halloween read. I’ll get to the sequel eventually. (See also: bad at finishing book series.)
Tumblr media
Poetry for Everyone
Another new reading practice this year: always keeping a poetry book on the bedside table. Poetry books are best for leisurely dipping in and out rather than reading cover to cover. If you think poetry is only for the ivory towers, give these writers a try and think again.
A Child's Year by Christopher Yokel (Independent, 2018)
Okay, I’m biased here, but hey! Chris quietly released a new poetry book into the world this fall, and I’m a big fan of Chris AND his poems. A Child’s Year is a season cycle, sort of like his last book A Year in Weetamoo Woods, but this time it’s anchored by a four part poem recalling the journey of seasons through childhood eyes. And according to our friend Kirsten’s 7-year-old son, he gets the experience right. ;)
The Jubilee by John Blase (Bright Coppers Press, 2017) For his 50th birthday, John Blase released his first poetry book, with a poem for every year of life. It’s rare for me to make it through an entire collection start to finish but these were just so good. There are poems about aging — the author’s and his parents’ — and poems that evoke wide spaces and natural wonder. There are psalms and parables, and meditations on dying and, yes, living. All of them finely tuned with wisdom, gentle grace, and a touch of humor in all the right places. How I Discovered Poetry by Marilyn Nelson (Dial Books, 2014)
When I heard Marilyn Nelson read her poem “Thirteen-Year-Old American Negro Girl” on the On Being podcast, I was captivated. And when I found this lovely hardcover in a used bookstore back home in Florida, I knew I needed to read more. This is a memoir in poetry about growing up in a black military family during the American Civil Rights era, told with gentle lyricism, warmth, and humor. Plus, the book itself is lovely with whimsical illustrations and family photos.
Tumblr media
Comics!
I’m always on a quest to get more comics in my life. Plus knocking out a whole series in a couple weeks is a solid way to pad out your Arbitrary Book Goal.
Amulet 1-7 by Kazu Kibuishi (Graphix, 2008-2016)
After their father’s tragic death, Emily and Navin move with their mom to a strange old house that belonged to their great-grandfather… and so the adventure begins. In this fantasy series, the two kids find themselves in an underground world of demons, robots, talking animals, and a dangerous and powerful Amulet. A captivating and beautifully illustrated fantasy tale. Ms. Marvel 1-5 by G. Willow Wilson (Marvel, 2014-2016)
Y’all, I super want to be a Marvel nerd. But alas, I can't keep up, so I get my sister to loan books to me. Ms. Marvel is my new fave. A Pakistani-American girl from Jersey City has the power to grow, shrink, and stretch her body at will. So she’s trying to fight crime, keep up at school, and well, stay out of trouble with her parents. So fun. (Dear Disney: I really want this kid to show up in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. before it gets canceled kthxbye.)
The Legend of Wonder Woman by Ranae De Liz and Ray Dillon (DC Comics, 2016)
Weren’t we all mildly obsessed with Wonder Woman after the 2017 film? Another one I borrowed from my sister. A solid take on Diana’s origin story that’s accessible for comic n00bs (ahem, like me) who can’t figure out where to begin with beautiful art and a lot of heart.
The Classic I Finally Read
Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen I always try to tackle either a thick intimidating novel or an unread classic in the wintertime. This year, I worked on my Austen deficiency and discovered I relate a little too much to Elinor Dashwood.
Tumblr media
What’s Next?
In the new year, I think my goal is less about numbers and more about reading widely. I liked the 50% women authors goal because it helped me actively choose to support women writers. This year, hoping to read more books by authors of color, explore some new ideas and genres, and hopefully do a better job reading deeply and taking notes. I’ve got my eye on Book Riot’s Read Harder Challenge too, perhaps as a way to dig into new things I wouldn’t normally notice. And yeah... perhaps a monthly reading life update is a thing I can do here on the blog. :)
If you’re curious to see the full list of What I Read This Year and follow along with me in 2019, feel free to follow me on Goodreads!
What were some of your favorite reads in 2018? And what are your goals for the new year? I’d love to hear all about it in the comments!

the weight of time, the other side, enemy 6. webtoons up to the other side 10
alright back to kubera, timey wimey shenanigans and maruna growing a conscious.
so kuberas one of those series where spoilers dont change the experience so i knew yaksha was going to show up but ah im so excited yaksha and og airavata??? thank you currygom. oh yeah and we got more on brilith's soul's past i guess.
huh so the ancient human cycle of reincarnation is breaking down. ptsd is being inherited across lives. humans were suppose to regain memories of their past lives when their minds and bodies were fully matured but violent deaths are leading to them regaining their memories before their minds are ready to deal with the trauma and as a result instead trraging each life seperately like we saw with the humans maruna interacted with, the humans ran meets there is no seperation between one life and the next its bluring together and thr grudges are growing as people life out the past. I love it!
...thats ananta. damn currygom is going HARD this arc, all the big names are here. also i just love ananta, yaksha, and og airavata having a breakfast club. ananta is half way to having the dead anime mom hair but joking aside the two foofy braids are super cute. currygom.... why you keep killing off all the nice ones... oh no yaksha has bad regeneration doesnt he... ok i just spent a week with a literal toddler and yeah gandharva
ok i cant tell how much of this heart talk is metaphorical and how much is literal ie yaksha physical heart is effecting ran emotionally. now that i think about it why is hanuman in their female form in the current timeline. wait maruna couldnt interact with another alive in the current time but ran can? i love yaksha why are all my favorite characters doomed. LET ME PROTECT THE CUTE OLD MAN. he's even white haired, has a tail, and is fluffy! fluffy! ran is watee attribute like yaksha too. wait i just remembered samphati told maruna that ideally a natiska parent would mentor a 5th stage rakshasa since 5th stage vigor and what not works more like a natuska and isnt that what yaksha is doing for ran. oh so this is what they meant by suras natures are to destroy. natiskas take of their attribues and astika create
ah so ran's half phobia isn't just trauma from the cataclysm but being afraid of himself. yeah where'd the wind transcendendal come from, ran is water water water
oh wow that experiment was more important than i thought. everyone is there
ooh naver commenter pointed out how sura sometimes scheme names their kids and raltara's parents name might be taraka the natiska name kali took to make yuta
this cute old man is bad for my heart. also ananta is precious. maruna continues to underestimate people but i will say him mistaking to most powerful being to have ever exisged in the universe for a 4th stage rakshasa ia pretty funny.
yaksha is basically a catboy. that explains a lot actually.
im enjoying the characterization of sagara. to sagara power is everything. ananta just wants everyone to be happy, he's uncomfortable with exterminating the ancient humans but he'll do it for sagara. this isnt true to himself or what he wants but he'll be what those around him want him to be. oh wow so the name/role of ananta was designed to take on a portion of every sin ever in the universe. also callback to brilith's conversations on whether its better to have gods that are too weak to do anything or have the power but choose not to help. oh shit and by brahma asking his consent in the destruction of the ancient humans (and ensuring it via sagara) she ensured the sins of killing them would fall on to him.
oh and somethings up with tilda but we dont know what yet. shes going to be important
where is marunas coat? mmmm head hurts... so gods forget things so that they arent weighted down by desires and reach the top/enlightenment. but once they reach the top the dont have to keep forgetting? about doomed willarav(??) all the deaths are turning point in which the characters didin't choose compassion. this is also the outcome that kali averted. ok im with maruna ran is giving me bad vibes. oooooo the maruna ran raltara gandharva situation! the tension! the drama! i was so caught up if the eye of punishment was going to be used by maruna or shess that a couple years ago i didnt even consider the possibility of a new character.
we also see the payoffs of the weight of time and the other side as well ran and maruna have come to see things from the other side (sura and humans). as others have pointed out maruna has spent several millennia among humans and discarded the sura cultural mentalities taught to him (obey superiors, no compassion etc which we see directly in his confrontation with samphati but everywhere after this time adventure) and taken a mentality closer to that of the first ancient humans. if humans using silent magic is said to lessen their humanity and make them more like sura ruthless calculating and cold, the maruna has become more human. the opposite is true of ran having spent many years living as a rakshasa and living far beyond a human lifespn. literally he has become more in tune with his sura side coming to terms with his grand parent being hanuman, yaksha's heart within him, and his power which killed his mother and he attacked the two next most important people to him lutz and rana. silent magic was said to need a desire for power, a lack of compassion for ones enemies, and a willingness to give up everything for one's goals. and mentally his mindset has been shifting from that of a humans to the one we usually see in sura. remember when he was introduced ran was the nicest character in the cast after leez.
so god kubera put the konchez party in a transcendental to stop their minds from merging with the maruna and ran of the current chapter. but thats what made them too late to stop taraka dying and 4th stage yuta. unless they wouldn't have made it aahhhhhhhh my head hurts i infinite possibilities gah! time travel! anyways but im still not sure what god kubera wants to begin with. wait no the mental transcendental preserved the minds of their former selves. the merge did happen that's how the clothes got "restored". oh yeah i forgot former kubera drew the sword of re before giving it to leez.
one of the currygom afterwords or something mentioned it but there's many more characters recently that do not neatly fit into the established boxes. perhaps its because at the beginning and and ending of the universe reality is looser. we have confirmation that yaksha clan bunny girl petupan that ran met has a chaos attribute but other sura we have met has chaos-ish aspects to them like other bunnygirl sona who maybe could be petupan's daughter? curiosly hanuman has a weird left arm when ran met him but doesnt in the modern day. then there's taraka that maintained their minds and forms like samphati and makara. then we have ran whos a human rakshasa (hanuman wondering if they forgot about a child with yaksha is still funny)
3-195 the other side 13 is the last we see maruna with his red fluffy coat in a flashback with raltara. it isnt seen until maruna goes to the abandoned timeline or n23
its probably intentional on currygoms part that yaksha's source attribute is water and that the inheritor of his heart ran was born with 3 water attributes. the interesting part is when ran starts using wind transcendentals and hanuman's source attribute is wind. so its almost as if he were a rakshasa with light as a clan attribute and water and wind as heteditary attributes. what im not sure of is in the fight with maruna ran seems to use some sort of lightning based attack and i cant quite remember so he either mixed partial surification with divine magic, has a sky attribute???? or there's sky transcendentals that dont require an attribute?
the abyss is the water channel of th sura realm?? omg and maruna cant remember the thing in the abyss that was chasing them because its existence has been replaced with yuta.

Session 34 Notes
The Silver Scale Pack finishes clearing Perfection of its worm and shrieker problem, then continues off-road until they arrive safely in Longview to meet Rana's mother.
@gher-bear @aradow @telurin @epimetala
Tumblr media
On this day we find a dead worm, kill more shriekers, and then return to town. There we find out that Ixayl'anu's elk had an encounter of his own, saving the camels all by himself! We don't see what flying thing caused the ruckus though and call the townspeople back to safety with mirror communications. Edea takes over and we continue on our way to Longview. Along the way, we sight a thunderbird storm and find wondrous treasure in some long-abandoned wagons. Eventually we end up in Longview, upon which we immediately exit to the outskirts and meet Rana's mother, Romy. Then we end the session with a level up! Welcome to level 8 SSP!
(Taking a Long Rest) Before Diem goes to sleep, they recast tiny hut, rolls an 8 on watch, Rana rolls a 17. She can see the lip of the valley and sees a flash of light.
She gets a 13 survival check on mirror glint communication and recognizes this is an all clear? morse code with mirrors thing. Rana nudges Phi about it to see if she knows this mode of communication better or at least has a mirror on her as well.
Phi hands over her small mirror with a silver handle.
Rana assumes it’s Edea, messages the number 1, spells out worm, flashes “message received”
After a brief moment she gets back “not visible/query not found”
Rana: “Message received”
Rana tells Phi what was said back and forth, then leans over the building and tells Diem as well.
Phi and Ixayl’anu’s watch: 14 Ixayl'anu, 19 Phi
At 1 or 2am the most god-awful scream they’ve ever heard in their life, coyote mixed with a rabbit, loud and wailing and pained. It wakes Rana up.
Phi knows it’s deeper into the valley.
Rana scrambles to look down and check on us on the ground. Phi continues investigating and gestures the approx direction for Rana.
It continues for about 10 minutes.
Diem finally wakes up “What? Huh? What the fuck is that?”
Phi 27 perception out in the valley. She sees off in the distance and with a fairly good idea of what they look like, she sees one completely on top of the ground way off in the distance, mouth open, she can see it is “beached” and making this noise.
She pokes Rana and points it out, then whisper yells over the edge at us about it being one of the worms.
Rana with perception 7 thinks she can kinda make it out.
Phi: Half mile, ¾ of a mile.
It tapers off though and everything is quiet, too quiet afterward.
Phi keeps her eye on that worm.
Come morning, Diem gets 3 charges back on their band of shocking grasp and recasts tiny hut as we wake up, just to keep it there until it’s no longer needed.
Rana checks again in the morning and what she thought was the worm was a rock (17 perception this time)
Rana: Let’s go check out that worm.
We discuss what’s up while snacking on rations and getting ready to go. Rana and Phi bring their rats with, but we leave the albino shrieker in its box in the shade.
(Investigating a dead worm - more shriekers!)
We spread out walking toward the beached worm, Rana in front.
With a perception check of 20, Phi stops as she catches dust in the distance, but it turns out to be an actual dust devil instead; no poof poofs of worms.
Before we can even see the worm, we smell it super bad, the worst dead thing that’s been sitting in the sun, putrifying. We see it now and it’s not moving.
Rana: Was this here yesterday?
Phi: Not until last night when it started making noise.
Rana: Does it look like its been dead longer than it actually has? With a medicine check of 4, it looks fairly together. She remembers Edea did a blight spell but this doesn’t look like that.
Diem covers their nose and investigates. It’s still not moving, mouth is open, tongues are not moving.
Phi tries to shoot it, nothing happens, looks like she just hit a hay bale with it.
Rana: Well we can message Edea and tell her the last worm is dead.
Ixayl'anu: A worm is dead, are we sure it’s the last one?
Rana shrugs.
Diem keeps walking around until they finally see blood all over the ground on the other side of the worm. Eventually they get to a better angle as everyone goes around it the other way. They finally see there are no insides, it’s been hollowed out. They tell everyone else.
Ixayl'anu tries to investigate as well, but doesn’t learn much.
Diem takes a 12 investigation, sees foot prints that look like they could fit shriekers and the hole in the worm hide is ragged.
Rana walks up and smacks it hard but nothing happens.
Diem startles: Shit, Rana.
Looks like a scuffle in the area, mess of prints, two sets leading away, headed toward the other side of the Rim.
Rana: Let’s follow them.
Ixayl'anu: Do we wanna leave a message for Edea?
Rana: If you have a way to leave a message…?
Ixayl'anu: You’re the one who wants to impress her
Rana: I have a mirror.
We don’t have anything substantial to report to check in though so we decide to follow the tracks, Rana in the lead with a 21.
We see them go off into the distance.
Investigation for Rana tells her there are two sets of footprints, we gather there were 3 total.
This worm is roughly the same direction as our 2 lost shriekers, we walked through some slightly charred field, but this is quite a bit farther out than where we last saw the on-fire shriekers.
We are only barely still in sight of town. The farther we get form town, the more on edge Rana gets.
Rana sees a glob of blood and fur along the way, we keep moving while Rana makes sure we don’t get lost as we go. None of us are being stealthy, we’re trying to stick close to rocks though whenever possible.
Phi hears wet crunching sounds ahead, ripping wet munching noises.
Phi makes a stopping gesture at all of us: waitwaitwaitwait did anybody else hear that?
Only Rana hears it now too: I think they caught something else.
Ixayl’anu gets up on a rock to try and see (16): She gets the gross scent she’s learned to associate with these creatures.
We send Phi ahead to scout over the rock, stomach crawling over the top. 28 stealth: Phi sees 2 shriekers eating a dead cow. She turns her head and plays charades. Mouths “cow” then corrects to “two”
Rana to the rest of us: There are two cows, they probably belong to the village, let’s go get them. *she starts walking around to fight them*
Phi gets ready to fight as well seeing her getting ready to fight.
(Another shrieker fight)
The shriekers scream at Rana as soon as they raise their little heat sensors - she makes her save.
Rana: They’re not cows guys!
Phi takes a surprise round shot but misses. She shoots again and does 16dmg to pink - she uses her bonus action attempting to hide by sliding down the side of the rocks and moving back. 24 stealth check.
Blue rushes Rana and bites at her.
Rana flame blades, but misses. Fiery scimitar sticks around though and it will serve as a bonfire of sorts if Edea is looking at us.
The creatures LOVE it mmm so much lovely heat.
Pink also charges Rana and tries to bite the sword, bites through to no effect.
Diem rushes up and hits with one shot of eldritch blast for 3dmg.
Ixayl’anu rushes forward and takes a swing at pink, miss, hit, 9dmg.
Phi runs forward to shoot at them from behind, misses, and has no movement left to hide.
Blue tries to bite Rana with disadvantage, but hits anyway and deals 14dmg
Rana tries to stab blue with her sword, does 6 fire dmg.
These guys do not look previously charred.
Pink tries to bite Rana and her beautiful sword again, but misses.
Diem tries to parkour up the lower portion of the rock, makes it, casts eldritch black at pink, but misses both strikes.
Ixayl'anu hits pink for 8dmg, misses her 2nd strike.
Phi shoots at blue and gets a crit! 34dmg, blue is bloodied by it. Phi bonus action hides in a pile of rocks. 13 stealth - she feels sorta secure...
Blue bites at sword/rana and misses
Rana swings at blue but misses.
Pink bites at Rana and misses.
Diem casts eldritch blast at blue for 16dmg total (one crit)
Ixayl'anu slashes at pink, misses, misses
Phi has to do a con save and passes as purple screams at her from behind. It jumps down.
The others scream as well, Ixayl'anu and Diem make their saves though while Rana is immune from her previous success.
Phi runs forward (directly east) around the rocks and away from purple, she shoots at blue, misses, dashes farther away again (over 50ft away from purple)
Blue misses Rana.
Rana swings at blue, misses.
Pink misses.
Diem hits blue for 16dmg total again, kills it.
Ixayl'anu swings at pink 11dmg, misses with 2nd strike.
Purple charges Phi and takes a bite - 10dmg, she uses evasion to take only 5dmg.
Phi switches to her daggers and hits with both for a total of 13dmg, bonus action disengages, uses her movement to be closer to Ixayl'anu, slightly behind and a few paces east.
Rana stabs at pink and deals 6dmg.
Does purple look previously charred? No.
Pink bites at Rana and her sword, just barely misses.
Diem sees purple hungering after Phi and decides to try and help draw its attention toward them - Rana and her fiery sword all bright and tasty looking between. They hit purple with eldritch blast for 10dmg total.
Ixayl'anu hits pink for 7dmg, misses 2nd strike.
Purple turns around, sees the sword, but Ixayl'anu is closer so it attacks her and misses.
Phi attacks with her daggers and does 24dmg total, efficiently killing it. Phi disengages.
Rana swings at pink, deals 14dmg, killing it.
(After battle investigations)
Rana lets go of her flame blade, but keeps the remaining 10minutes of concentration to summon it back as a bonus action. She checks the cow for more information (10) it is very dead, nothing otherwise out of the ordinary.
The rest of us look around, Ixayl'anu gets a nat 20 investigation (19). She finds a shrieker halfway up the cliffs purple came from.
Rana and Phi check in on their rats, then Rana tries to climb up to the molt (17) and tries to chuck it down to the ground. It feels like a chitinous fiberglass body and cracks a little bit when tossed down.
Rana nature checks 16 - the molt is maybe slightly smaller, she survival tracks purple’s prints (another 16), it went up at the top of the ridge, previously it was following along equally with the other two, so probably the results of that 3rd set of tracks.
Diem investigates the molt for burning and finds some, points it out to Rana. It’s definitely something left over from one of yesterday’s on-fire runners, possibly from one of the three we just killed, after they shed their damaged skin.
Molt is 10-15 lbs - Rana shoulders it.
We follow purple’s tracks back to the worm, confirming all three of the shriekers we just killed were involved in wormicide.
Rana leads us back to town from there.
We talk about the 3 we killed, the 2 that got away yesterday (and whether they are the same) and handling the infestation only until we feel confident the villagers can take care of the rest.
When we get back to town we go check on the albino shrieker, Ixayl'anu cracks the lid to see if it’s still there. Little snout pops out and snaps at her fingers, gets one of her plate-gauntleted fingers before she shuts the lid.
Rana and Ixayl'anu were paying attention enough with their nature rolls they notice it’s larger than yesterday but still not as big as the other guys. There’s definitely not enough space for another one in that box. It is still all white.
Ixayl'anu squeezes a ration in there with it - it’s like trying to feed a crocodile through the fence.
Rana climbs back up to last night’s roof and pulls out her mirror, studying where the mirror flashes were yesterday.
Phi looks around to see if the town looks empty still since we’ve been gone. 20 investigation: Town looks pretty close to how we had left things. As she gets closer to the camels, she hears the elk making angry elk noises, self consoling and all worked up.
Phi tries to parkour up the building near them.
Rana starts the mirror flashes for hey look here hey hey. Listen!
Diem: Maybe we could build a bonfire somewhere and see if it draws in any more of the little ones?
Rana: (while flashing hey hey pattern) Let’s check in with Edea and see if the town people want to return first.
Edea responds with a “here/listening” mirror glint.
Rana: “All clear maybe.”
Edea: “Okay to return?”
Rana: “Should be.”
Edea: “We’ll return.”
(Ixayl'anu's elk is a hero! Recognize!)
Back to Phi parkouring up building (14 - makes it up okay); looks out into the distance at what might be wrong, elk is tossing his head and claims more space than the camels who have edged away. When he sees Phi, he bugles something, trying to tell her something and stomps his hoof and brandishes his antlers.
Phi looks out into the distances with a 24 for threats. Nothing in the distance.
Phi: Down boy (assumes elk is just not happy, elk snorts at her as she leaves).
Phi comes back: Your elk is not liking the camels, or the camels don’t like your elk, something is going on down there.
Before Phi gets back, the elk telepathically says to Ixayl'anu: I defended the camels successfully, be proud of me! *smug* your camels are safe, there was a huge battle and I defended them well.
Ixayl’anu makes her way down there anyway. On the way she describes shriekers to the elk
Elk: No it was flying like a bird
Ixayl'anu: Was it a bird?
Elk: It was weird, but it was flying so it must be a bird.
Ixayl'anu looks up but doesn’t see anything.
Rana and Diem check in on their camels
Ixayl'anu tells us it wasn’t natural, but none of us see flying creatures.
Ixayl'anu to elk: How big was it?
Elk: It was as big as me!
Ixayl'anu relays this.
Ixayl'anu: Did it smell?
Elk: The camels smell...
Rana casts speak with animals and asks her camel what happened.
Her camel is very upset by something large attacking from the air. The elk did scare it off, but now he’s been showboating about it ever since and the camels just want out.
Rana: Have you seen the thing from the sky before
Camel: No
Rana casts stone shape and makes a 5X5 passage, 1ft off the ground, carefully leading camels through the doorway and handing them off to people. Rana is playing tetris with stonework and camels, and she tries to explain to them what she’s doing, guiding them out - 20 animal handling check.
Animal handling for our camels handed over (5 from Ixayl'anu, elk’s antlers get stuck), I get a 9, Phi gets a 4, they are just too eager to be out. Phi’s camel picks her up, holding onto halter lead and goes trotting off into the greenery.
Diem’s drags them away from quicksandy dead worm area in the opposite direction, further into town rather than toward brush, but Diem does manage to see a little throughway and eventually the camel heads that way, Diem going with it to the little oasis area.
Rana helps Ixayl'anu with the last camel to get it to the brush.
We take a short rest as we wait for Edea.
Diem keeps their eyes on the skies but only rolls a 5 on perception.
Rana does the same, rolls 12, but she’s more interested in playing with her rat and there’s a lot of leaves in the way besides.
(Townspeople Return)
We eventually hear/see Edea with the group of villagers heading into the main building from across the pond. We hear large exclamations.
Rana: I think she’s here.
We go with her.
Edea is impressed by our pile of bodies
Rana warns Edea about what the elk saw, but we haven’t seen any indication. We still don’t.
Edea: We’ll keep an eye out, we didn’t see anything on our way into town either.
Rana: Don’t know if you guys heard that shrieking last night?
Edea: Yep.
We catch her up to that and the molt, edea wants to see it.
Edea: I’ve never seen anything like these creatures but I certainly wouldn’t have expected them to molt.
Rana: They look mammalian to me.
Edea: They’re definitely not insects.
Rana: Oh yeah and Ixayl'anu found a pet.
Ixayl'anu: Oh yeah (something I missed for notes)
Rana fills Edea in about el blanco’s details.
Edea volunteers to take the molt off our hands to the other druids of her circle.
Rana: As far as we can tell they love fire and heat
Diem: We thought we might light a bonfire before we leave, make sure nothing else comes after it before we move on.
Edea studies el blanco, then wrangles it, mouth together and ropes it closed.
Edea: It’s definitely malformed, compared to the other ones.
Edea pokes at the flaps and peels them up a little bit, it screams and struggles more: It definitely sees via these organs. What are you planning on doing with this one?
Rana gestures at Ixayl'anu
Ixayl'anu: (More words I missed for notes) definitely doesn’t need to come with us anywhere, just thought it might be useful to study.
Edea: Well, this was always intended to be our splitting off point anyway.
Rana: Yeah, I can get them to Longview from here.
Ixayl'anu: Yeah if it’s useful to study, we can leave it here.
Edea: Yeah this and the molt could tell us quite a bit.
Ixayl'anu: Not attached, just holding onto it as something we can maybe do something with.
Rana: Camels are by the oasis, they made it through just fine.
We talk things over, Earl comes out and sees shrieker pile “What in tarnation is going on here?”
Rana: Feel free to add to the pile
Earl: Val come look at this!
Val comes out to look.
Our plan is to wait out the heat of the day/afternoon. Diem sets up a tiny hut and we inform Edea of as much as possible.
Edea is now treating us all as competent and she’s giving us more respect as a result.
We begin our trek out of the valley toward Longview, none of us catching on that Rana is taking us slightly off-path from our plans.
Encounter roll of 19 from Ixayl'anu.
(Thunderbird sighting)
As we get to the far side of this canyon, beginning to climb out of it, we can see a lot farther than before, more regular level desert, far off into the distance, 10-20 miles away a huge thunderstorm is brewing, lots of lightning it looks real bad.
Perception checks Diem 1, Ixayl'anu 5, 23 Phi, Rana 22
Rana (excited and worried both): We need to get under cover right now! We can’t be out in the open when that thing gets here. I have never seen one but I think this is a thunderbird. I don’t think it’ll bother us if we leave it alone, but we need to get out of its way.
Phi: Is that bigger than a roc?
Rana: About the same size. I have never seen one...though it looks about the size of a roc.
Survivals: Rana 13, Diem 8, Phi 18, Ixayl'anu 6
We don’t really find a good spot. We find an overhang though, but not a big enough space for the tiny hut. We manage to be out of line of sight. It was coming toward us as we were looking for a spot.
To Diem (perception 4) it’s like being caught out in a hurricane.
Rana tries to get a look 17, Phi 11, Ixayl'anu 20
This bird is mad, something has pissed it off.
Ixayl'anu to her elk: This isn’t the thing is it?
Elk: *huddled* no this is not what I saw
We’re soaked to the bone, but it’s a warm rain. We watch for a good hour or so, we see it make a couple of dives in the desert but not near Perfection.
Phi wonders aloud if it’s mad about these new abominations in its land and it’s come to take it back and wash it clean.
It makes a couple of passes over the valley and then goes back where it came from to the North.
Rana: *grinning* Let’s not do that again.
Diem: That was AWESOME
Ixayl'anu is excited about the lightning.
Diem takes a long time to prestidigitation us all dry.
Rana picks up the lead again.
Survival rolls to get our bearings again diem 6, Ixayl'anu 7, rana 10, phi 17 - we’re pretty confident Rana knows the way.
Rana knows it would take another full day to get to Longview and looks for a game trail toward it instead of Bouldergap as we had planned (not that any of us catch on to the fact we’re off course out here.
It takes us awhile and we’re meandering a little. It takes us past dusk before we find a suitable area and begin setting up camp.
Phi: Rana, I don’t even see this path anymore...
Rana: That’s because we’re not on it. I use this path all the time, we’re almost certainly not lost *smiling*
Phi: Alright I trust you.
Diem casts alarm around the animals, then summons the tiny hut, coloured to blend with the desert sand.
Rana nat 20s first watch. Coyotes in the distance, lovely night, natural sounds, everything’s peachy.
She’s in a good mood when she wakes Phi up: It’s a great night.
Phi: Happy to be home?
Rana: More than a little. I like Rethwellian but it’s a little too green for my tastes
Phi: Well so far this desert has been nice but also a little smelly sometimes
Rana: In our defense, it’s usually not like that, hopefully they’ll be gone soon, maybe that thunderbird washed them away.
Phi: Hopefully
Rana: Alright goodnight
Phi: Goodnight
Perception 26, nothing really changes though she’s not as comfortable as Rana is.
On Diem and Ixayl’anu’s watch, Diem recasts tiny hut. Ixayl'anu gets 7, Diem gets a 4. Diem draws a bad rendition of the thunderbird in their dream journal (maybe because they didn’t get to see it so well lol).
OOC we rule that Diem doesn’t have to worry about timing and recasting tiny hut moving forward, it’ll last for as long as we need it.
Nice clear morning, Rana is pumped and ready to go, already on the camel as we climb out of our bedrolls.
(Lost treasure on the sandy deer trails)
Rana rolls a 6 for encounters - a few hours in, 10/10:30 we come to a scattering of splintered wood and strewn wagon wrecks up ahead. Rana stops because this isn’t supposed to be here. Even with an 8 she sees a wagon wheel.
Ixayl'anu: What, what’s going on?
We get close and see the remains of wagons.
Diem: Think this could be that missing caravan?
Rana: It’s possible, but we’re no longer on that path.
Ixayl'anu goes over to look at identifying marks on crates/wagons/flags
Rana perception checks around the area, Diem goes with her (22, 11)
Phi helps Ixayl'anu. She notices the wood is bleached and weathered, sitting in the sun for years and years.
Ixayl'anu: How long does it take for wagons to start looking like this? Doesn’t it take awhile?
Rana walks up.
When Ixayl'anu scrapes it with a claw it splinters like over-dry wood
Rana 10 investigates it, and agrees - very weathered and bleached, flags are tattered and bleached, light pink maybe used to be red. Rana goes up to the 2nd wagon, Diem follows. It looks like it was a goods caravan, no animals, no people, no bones (but rolled low for that).
Diem got sand in their eye (1 investigating for bones)
We are following a loose trail of debris, Rana sees the inside protected by the cloth and she sees several other crates that have been pried open, contents taken. Rana pulls one crate out
Phi and Diem both roll low on this next part.
Rana nat 20s looking this crate over, tucked away behind that crate is another one that got overlooked, barely protected, it has a strange symbol on it like the barest suggestion of an inverted triangle made with little triangles at each point and leaf blades in the center curling out toward the leftmost triangle point from a braided crescent moon along the suggested triangle’s right side, tips of the crescent poking up out of the leftmost and top sides of the suggested triangle. Rana drags it out and takes a closer look. It seems kind of heavy. Whatever is in there is well padded, no shifting or sloshing etc.
Phi 14 perceives for traps. She sees it is locked with delicate filigree on it, meaning it’s probably a trap. Attempts to disable the trap (24).
We talk about how very lost they probably were, because as Rana points out, you do not go off trail, the desert is very dangerous, it will kill you, and while we were okay off trail with her, you definitely do not go off trail with a caravan.
Ixayl'anu: I get that but how far off trail are we?
Rana: We are inadvisably far off trail, but I know where I’m going.
Phi defeats the trap and inside she finds a large teapot of red enamel with a slightly demonic face on the side of it with a large ring in its nose. When she picks it up steam gently comes up and it is warm.
Rana looks in the box for more identification. 18 investigation.
Rana 17 history checks the triangle-moon symbol too - she’s not certain where she’s seen the symbol but it’s tip of her tongue - not quite familiar, but something. She finds a very old, weathered piece of parchment with “the meal wish cauldron” written on it, along with what it does.
By putting in 10 gold (or similar value of jewels - per person?), you bring forth a great feast, including magnificent food and drink. The feast takes 1 hour to consume and disappears at the end of that time, and the beneficial effects don't set in until this hour is over. Up to twelve creatures can partake of the feast.
A creature that partakes of the feast gains several benefits. The creature is cured of all diseases and poison, becomes immune to poison and being frightened, and makes all Wisdom saving throws with advantage. Its hit point maximum also increases by 2d10, and it gains the same number of hit points. These benefits last for 24 hours.
We package it away into our own supplies for now.
Rana: We’ll get to Longview before nightfall probably.
We travel an hour and a half more before we get back to the main road again, very well trafficked, just like Rethwellian’s main roads, it’s like going from a deer trail to a five lane highway.
Diem plays off the whole bad bitch native desert dweller guide, so fuck off vibe
As we get closer and closer to early evening we can see Longview.
(Welcome to Longview)
We are going to see a small town, big enough to know everyone but only if you lived here awhile. Somewhat of a farming community, gardens behind houses are common, in the shadow of the mountain, a bit more greenery here, but not as green as Rethwellian.
Taking the main road in, not stopping, just going through town - Rana clearly knows where she’s going. “Welcome to Longview.”
Phi: So were you born here?
Rana: Yeah, I grew up here.
One person on the road nods at Rana but they don’t stop and chat. They stare more at us than her.
Diem thinks it looks very cute and cozy
Rana’s interactions are limited to nods and waves
Phi: How long since you’ve been home?
Rana: At least 2 years
We notice nobody’s trying to catch up with Rana, Diem just assumes that’s because they know Rana well enough to know she’s not much of a talker and/or they’re all very similar to her in that regard.
As we pass the inn
Phi: Are we going to stay with your family maybe?
Rana: That is the plan, yes.
She takes us to her mom’s place, taking a left and immediately leaving Longview for its outskirts instead. Comparatively small homesteading with some sheep that want fed, a small kitchen garden, that’s pretty much it. We passed a lot of farms on the way here though. This one is only about 10 acres.
Rana glances around at some to do things while she’s here, but not a whole lot, some of the fencing could use repairing. She finds a place for their camels for water and food, ties them off. While everyone’s unloading she goes to feed the sheep.
Then she leads us to the door. We make enough noise out there though that a farm dog comes out barking, excited to see her, yipping, mom comes out the back “Oh Rana you’re back!” (older, husky sounding voice, from the city, little bit more cultured, wearing very nice clothes).
Rana turns around with a grin and runs to give her a big hug
Mom: I missed you so much
Rana: I missed you too
Mom: You brought friends
Rana: I brought friends!
Mom: Bring them inside
A feathered female dragonborn, a white-haired female gnome, and a big scary human woman who looks like she could break you.
Rana: we’re gonna need somewhere to stay for a night or two if that’s okay?
Mom: Sure
Rana: I fed the sheep and the camels, I haven’t fed anything in the stable yet though.
Mom: We have some sheep that are laming too.
Rana: It is good to see you - it has been way too long.
Mom: I did hear from your brother about events.
Rana: Oh! Did he get his message then?
Mom: All 3 of them. One right after another
Rana (grinning): I’ll have to fill him in, it’s been an eventful few months
Rana waves us over.
Rana leads the elk to sheep pen so it doesn’t eat mom’s flowers. It is way greener here than the other gardens in town. Plants here are very lovely.
Rana looks around: I’ll take care of the plants while I’m here too.
Mom: They always seem to enjoy your attentions. Introduce me to your friends?
She introduces us, stops at Diem, “Drop the disguise.”
Diem clearly forgot they were disguised, but does so, looks a little out of sorts after they drop the disguise rather than their easily sociable butterfly self.
Rana introduces each of us and where we’re from, Diem says their home is a small village in Rethwellian nobody’s really heard of, not important.
We are introduced to mom as Romy
Level up!

melodia care nu s-a regasit in varianta finala a filmului, dar este in trailer, a devenit una dintre preferatele mele, matthew perryman jones - ‘land of the living:
youtube
Tumblr media
patrick: you don't want to be my guardian, that's fine with me. lee: it's not that. it's just the logistics. patrick: all my friends are here. i got two girlfriends and i'm in a band. you're a janitor in quincy. what the hell do you care where you live?

‘my mom would drive us across town to a church and we’d sit in this room with other kids we didn’t know, and the people who were running it would walk us through these exercises basically reenacting what was happening at home. so you’d watch these other kids behaving like their drunk mom or dad, and yelling and throwing things and hitting them and so forth and then you’d get up and do your thing. i was 9 years old. that was the first acting i ever did. it was therapy, but it was also drama. it was drama and it was therapy. acting for me has sort of been that ever since, taking the things from your life and putting them to use in some way. i think the reason i’ve been an actor is that my mother took me to those meetings. thank god for her’ - casey affleck about the alateen meetings (a support group for young people and relatives affected by alcoholics) his mother had him attend as a kid due to his father’s alcoholism

reunions.
it’s always bad news that brings their family together, isn’t it? when the worst happens, alec ryder embarks on a mission to bring his wayward children home. andromeda drabble. f!ryder & alec.
Nyria Ryder froze before the door at the end of the hallway, bright red and heavy, inset with a small round window for viewing the room beyond. Not that there was much to see. Sterile white walls, grey tiles, cheap metal chairs bolted to the floor.
And a man. Tall and square-shouldered, standing at parade rest. Even with his back to the door she knew him.
“Hey, quick question. If I confess now will you put me back in my cell?” The turians flanking her just punched in the security code for the red door of doom. “What about bribes? I can bribe you. Or you could arrest me for trying to bribe you.” She looked desperately to the ceiling, searching hopefully for a camera she well knew wasn’t there. What passed for a prison in this system was really just a glorified drunk tank.
Or it used to be. Ria flattered herself that she might’ve changed a few perspectives this week.
After a few seconds, the security pad began to wail and green lights flashed over the door. It ground its way slowly open, and the security guards shoved Ria through it without ceremony.
“Thank you, Officers,” Alec Ryder spoke as they entered, still facing the large window set into the opposite wall. “I can take it from here.”
The guards turned on their heels--on whatever passed for a heel on a turian--and left without a word, the red door grinding shut behind them. Nyria was left alone with her father.
“So,” she said, swallowing thickly. Alec remained where he was, imposing as a statue, crushing her with the force of his silent disapproval. “Are you just gonna stand there like an overdramatic asshole or are you gonna say what you want to say?”
“What could I possibly say Nyria?” Her father sighed, sounding more resigned than angry. Maybe she’d finally broken him. “Your mother and I have said and done everything we possibly could. So long as you’re determined to defy us--”
“Overdramatic asshole it is,” she muttered. Of course he thought this was about him. He thought everything was about him.
Alec sighed again, his shoulders drooping as he pinched the bridge of his nose. “I don’t want to fight.”
“That’s a first.”
He hesitated, and she could almost hear the argument in his silence, but said instead, “You need to come home, Ria.”
“Not this again.”
“I’m not asking you to stay. You’ve made your feelings about that clear. But the family needs to be together right now.”
Something turned over in her belly, and the thought occurred to Ria that maybe she wasn’t the thing that had broken her father. “Is Mom--”
“Everyone’s fine,” he said, in such a rush she knew he was lying. Alec Ryder had many talents, but dishonesty was never one of them. “We just need to talk. Together.”
If it was something with Rhys, she would’ve heard about it before either of their parents. If it was something with Dad, he would never have told anyone about it. So unless she was pregnant and somehow the last person to know about it--she was definitely not--that only left Mom. And they would only be having a family meeting about it if…
“Shit.” Ria sank into one of the chairs, elbows propped on her knees and head resting in her hands. She forgot all about Rana and Sarenna and the mess that landed her here. She even forgot to be angry at her father. The world darkened and narrowed to one small truth. “It’s terminal, isn’t it? Mom’s dying.”
“We’ll talk about it when we’re all together.”
Shit shit shit. “Does Rhys know?”
Alec shook his head, finally turning to face her. He was paler than when she last saw him, paler and older and less somehow. The lines in his face more severe, the grey reaching all the way from his temples to the sides of his head. But it was his eyes that threw her. Blue and bloodshot and bright with tears, but there was no fight in the way he looked at her. No calculation or anger or determination. There was barely anything at all.
Ria rose to her feet, trying to ignore how the planet’s gravity had doubled, how her prison paste lunch threatened to come back for a visit. She crossed the room in three long strides, throwing her arms around her father’s shoulders. Alec hesitated, just for a moment, before returning the embrace.
“I’ll bring him home,” she said.
