so I'm playing darkest dungeon 2 again, mostly because my computer couldn't handle bauldur's gate and I feel left out lmfao. Dd is technically campaigns as well and there's some aspects of customization so it's helping me fill the need.

so anyway. I've been renaming the characters based off fandoms and friends.

do y'all want me to add yours? 👀

there's a bunch of classes but right now I'm using:

The Hellion (high dmg, leader/1st rank. An exiled warrior trying to gain back her honor, because in the face of war she was a coward)

The Highway Man (range and melee, any rank. Your standard hardened ex-con looking for redemption. Meow Meow flavored. Best character idc idc)

The Plague Doctor (healer&debuffs, back rank. Gremlin scientist that tried to defy death despite her professor's warnings. Also meow meow flavored tbh)

The Vestal (healer & party buffs, back rank. A warrior nun that was exiled from the church because she wanted to watch people getting FREAKY. Probably the weakest backstory out of all the characters, but I still love her and she's a based healer. so.)

AND

The Occultist (debuffs & range, back rank. Astral traveled to the void and it seems the void talked back.)

OR

The Grave Robber (range with toxicity, any rank. Your standard rich lady with an abusive drunk of a husband that mysteriously wound up poisoned. She spent all his money and then robbed his grave for more. Serves absolutely CUNT and is my other favorite character.)

#poorly drawn mdzs #mdzs #a-qing #xue yang #A-qing went 'there are horrors he is committing and I am going to peep them' and then faced horrors that she could not fathom #The fact she sees the evidence first hand but it genuinely is too much to handle is a lovely tragedy that betrays her youth #It is interesting that she clearly does have more knowledge than the lay person about cultivators and night hunts (possibly from xxc?)#she does mentally call out xue yang for using the right terminology (betraying his 'no one important' façade)#but corpse poisoning is...well....probably not something she could have known about #so instead she has to encounter this horrible and suspicious event and justify it to keep herself sane #Ah....that's not going into the really interesting ambiguity of xue yangs targets #the people he kills specifically slandered *all three of them*#Was it just for himself? Was there a sense of protectiveness over his two blind companions?#I don't want an answer. I love that it is ambiguous #And oh man. having the noble XXC do the killing is so deviously evil. What a loaded chekov's gun.#you know xxc is gonna have a breakdown over it *when* he finds out. #elaboration in the tags #zero time dilemma #zero escape #ztd #I think of this every time I watch a playthrough and get to that room #carlos ztd #akane kurashiki #junpei tenmyouji #c team #like just about any combination fits with the potential character growth both Akane and Junpei would have from it #I understand the main character is Carlos so if we were to keep it as him making the decision then I would have Akane in the incinerator #and Junpei in the chair #but if we’re going to throw ‘main character chooses’ then you could truly have either Akane or Junpei at the gun with Carlos in the chair #I say all this cuz there’s the obvious Akane incinerator parallels and I imagine it could trigger a breakdown for her #if Junpei is behind the gun would she beg Junpei to shoot Carlos to save her?#would Junpei see that Akane sees other players as pawns to save her own life? and if she doesn’t beg does it help Junpei #see the humanity in her? where he previously thought she was uncaring but here she clearly is to save Carlos at the cost of her own life #but my fave configuration is Junpei in the incinerator and Akane at the gun #it helps them see from each other’s point of view. how scared would Junpei be being in the incinerator and there’s nothing he can do #but rely on someone else? Junpei in characterized as pretty selfish in ZTD so this experience could have him empathize with Akane’s #‘selfishness’ in the previous games. realizing you’d do it too if your life was on the line #and Akane can see just how difficult it is being the one to directly have a hand in how people die or at least see their bodies.#and is it worth it to just save one person?#yes Akane’s games have a way for everyone to survive and win at the end. but in the moment the players don’t know that.#I think that configuration would do SO much for akane and Junpei to better empathize with one another during ZTD #this could’ve been a whole post but I wasn’t confident enough in my coherence to properly format it. so tags you get

just started watching disventure camp today (finally) and I’m already on ep 6. I have (out loud) made the “you a baby quit cussing” joke like. Every single episode at least once. I have SO MUCH to talk about..
