Re-doing something I’ve done every few years for the last decade. The muses as dogs! Mostly vibes based.

Jay - I nearly went with something that is naturally stubborn and tricky and loud, but honestly, I think the fact that so much of Jay’s attitude is intentionally going against what comes natural means he’d be something very different. A working cocker spaniel, trainable, sweet, playful. But with that rescue dog whose been kicked around behavioral issues package.

Felix - This is mostly looks. He scream/make lots of howling noise too, though, so that similarity works. Sibe. Doesn’t really listen unless it’s also what he wants to do, but then can’t be stopped. I

Wynn - Pyrenean mountain dog. Pastoral, gentle look, calm, protective and ever watching, but with that potential to cause serious harm, and change on a dime because always alert.

Finch - Lurcher. A mix of so awkward and so capable, neurotic as hell. So much potential to succeed and impress, or stumble over his own legs, or immediately run into a road because he got distracted by something pointless.

Tadhg - Some kind of mastiff or pittie mix. Bred for blood. Just wants to protect. Let him fucking sleep and rest, please. Scary to outsiders, a hell of a lot of strength and potential, in a lazy bundle that just wants to be pet.

Valentine - This one was hard, okay. I wanted something that had a military reputation, with known aggression issues and problems with strangers - because that would fit Rhodric’s court to a t, and therefore be a good base. So yeah, generic, high intensity, working shepherd. Even though that’s not Valentine, who is very cautious, intentional, and calm, it’s in there.

Oriol - Labrador. So trainable, so good with kids, absolutely the last one you’d expect to suddenly snap, despite how many dog related injuries are the family lab. Deceptively hum drum reputation.

Nish - Once he’s got an idea/a scent, good fucking luck, bucko. Can swing from non stop work to comatose on the couch in seconds. But overall so friendly, loves a good cuddle. But will abandon you for something interesting and gross.

Aster - Jack russel. Smol. Tenacious beyond sense.

Cyren - wolf. Literally what he is, just a fae version. Family oriented, social predator, suffering from long term isolation from his own kind.

Issa - I refused. He’s canonically a cat.

mercy killed john cleanly. he did not die in pain, she did not disrespect his body; she killed him quickly and efficiently and that was it. john killed her brutally!! he mutilated her and covered someone else with her gore and only then killed her with a tap to the back of the head. he ripped a dead woman’s cloak from her body and touched her corpse with his bare foot to prove a point!!

all this to say: necromancy is disrespect for the dead under the guise of reverence, and john isn’t even bullshitting respect for the dead anymore in Thee most obvious way. god’s mercy is finite and he has none left; i suspect that his “i’m just a little guy :)” act is at its end and we are about to see more of the man who claims that guys like him don’t make mistakes.
