#WritingCommunity #Scifi like #mysterious #entities and, in #EmpyraeumCycle, you don't get any more mysterious than The #Ancients.

A long-extinct (we believe) race of exos (or aliens) who had "interests" in the Home System. They left facilities on the surface of, within, and in orbit of Sèlene, our natural satellite. The Ring Docks are, perhaps, the greatest marvel because they contain the Pansabian Device, a semi-intelligent data system that can help on build...well, anything. To say the technological knowledge of The Empyraeum jumped forward by several centuries after its discovery and translation of its complex mathematical language is, perhaps, understating a lot.

The Ancients also built the Junpgate network around the galaxy, allowing near-instantaneous travel between two 'gates by means of a vast system of stable 'tunnels' through what is called Voidspace or the Achera Ungud.

They gave us the means and the ability not only to reach for the stars but to travel between them and colonise the galaxy.

The question, of course as always, is why.

Nobody knows much about these millions of years dead beings and none of their art or writings have survived. We only know of their appearance thanks to a very brave and valorous goblin by the name of Powatomi Seìon who discovered what might be called some kind of temple far beneath the surface of Sèlene when exploring with his friend and companion Razzle, on a completely different mission. Various statues, like this one pictured were found, as were some rather unsettling potential facts...

This is the same feller from my last post. In A Death Solar he spends most of the story trapped in Limbo hunter my insane Lovecraftian-like horrors (fragments of reality’s consciousness) called the Nameless Mad. His people evolved and advanced in a time before death and were thought extinct after the birth of the God of Death, Erebus.
