y'all remember how Emma Watson said she was "self-partnered" in like, 2017, and everybody had an opinion on it. She got mocked so much. In contrast, Miley Cyrus won a Grammy this month for a song that's essentially about being self-partnered. I mean, I still know people who mock others for doing traditionally couples-exclusive things for/with themself, but there clearly has been some improvement in society overall and that's awesome to realize.
Shoutout to people who are autoromantic and people who are self-partnered or solo/autogamous for any other reason, especially those who are aro, this Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week!
And a related shoutout to those who are non-partnering, nonamorous, choosing to be single, and anyone else rejecting the societal expectation to partnered! <2

I think I have only seen western fans being a little obsessed by their fave celeb's morality. Yes, entertainers hold a lot of power but, they could so very easily abuse it? They could post the most uninformed take and imagine the impact of it. Do you know how much a celeb has actually researched to speak about any international topic or national topic for that matter? And are there no other artists that are talking about it? If your own morality and ethics are dependent on a celeb's insta post then I think you should start supporting celebs who make those posts because honestly there a lot of them and they are facing repercussions of speaking up. Why don't you support them? Why do you need to wait for a celeb to speak up for you to call your local representative or educating your fellow friends on the same? Why aren't you checking which representative is supporting this genocide and which are speaking against it?

whenever my brother starts debating the existence of trans and nonbinary people, i just feel sick. sick of not being able to properly answer him and show him he’s wrong, sick of seeing him pretending he knows better than me, sick of the way he twists my arguments (“so, if you say that gender is cultural, we can criticize non-binary genders, right? because they’re bullshit!”), sick of him looking at me like i’m a hysterical girl who’s incapable of having a calm discussion when i start getting emotional. like. god. i know he doesn’t have actual bad intentions but i still hate him

I really don't know what to feel about this. Yeah, people are entitled to their opinions and hell, I stopped putting people on pedestals years ago, and worked through the whole - I'm not going into it; if you were there, you know - sub-Berena drama. And went to see Catherine in Habeas Corpus and absolutely fell in awe again, I mean, her acting is beyond talent and skill, man, and irl after the show she left me breathless bc her presence was just beaut. And she is just... well. beaut. But...
Idk.
This reeks, and reminds me of why I became uncomfortable w her outside of the Holby drama in the first place.

Rowling: i'm very concerned about the prosspect of irreverssible damage if former child actorss are allowed to have opinionss, so i'm lobbying the government with my billionss of dollarss to make that illegal
Rowling: for their own good, of courssse
Rowling: i mean, emma & daniel might SSAY that they're autonamouss beingss capable of forming their own opinions
