I want to go into a bit more detail about some of the things me and @whorencezvahl have talked about for Vincent in our rewrite because we’ve accidentally made him a semi major supporting character to the main plot of our rewrite. So be prepared for rambling about Vincent that may or may not make complete sense, none of this is going to be in complete timeline order for our rewrite but it’s all some of the more important things. Warning again, this is going to be long rambles about our rewrite Vincent. Also some of this is just going to be brief explanations, so feel free to send an ask if you want to learn more

☆Like mentioned previously, Vincent was previously once Shad’s kind of right hand man and the first person Shad ever turned into a shadow knight. Shadow knights originally in our rewrite was kind of a way that Shad would be able to keep his friends alive/keep them around longer(both of the first two shadow knights he created ended up gaining their immortality, though Vincent is the only one we’ve fleshed out) Vincent at some point has met all of the other Divine Warriors, but doesn’t know them all as personally as he knew Shad.

★Vincent at one point did end up pulling away from Shad (as of writing this we haven’t talked about when or what caused it, we jump around timeline wise a lot so somethings do not have answers right now) and ended up going with his brother, who ended up becoming the first lord of Meteli. Stuff happens and Vincent ends up killing his brother and gaining his immortality, Vincent then chooses to stay in Meteli basically as long as there is a Meteli. He basically vows to always makes sure Meteli is fine and nothing bad happens to it, but he refuses to become a lord.

☆It’s not an entirely well known thing that Vincent is an immortal Shadow Knight, even through he’s been in Meteli since it was founded. He’s kind of in a sense more kept a secret. The current lord will obviously know that he’s an immortal shadow knight, but majority of the village doesn’t know. He has a good bit of say regarding the village, but he’s not fully in charge. He has full veto power regarding who becomes the next lord, so if he doesn’t think the person would be good to be lord then they won’t be. And most lords just know not to argue with him about that.

★Now actually onto stuff that is more relevant to rewrite. Due to him just being concerned about keeping track of possible resurgence of the Divine Warriors, he keeps track of Shad’s descendants (of course to an extent, mainly the ones who could potentially wield Shad’s relic) He doesn’t track the others descendants, mainly because there are not many descendants to keep track of its mainly reincarnations at this point. I’ll make a post later about how relics work in the rewrite.

☆Joh at some point just comes home with like preteen Laurence and Vincent has like one conversation with him and takes away two things. 1) at some point in the near future the Lucan family is going to completely die out and 2)this child is the reincarnation of Shad. Which obviously isn’t a good sign. And unluckily for him this won’t be the last time he meets one of the new divine warriors(labeled later on at least to refer to them by us, the relic holders)

★Last thing(not really this is all I want to write because my brain is going to much) he’s one of the last few shadow knights who can correctly make a shadow knight by Shad’s standards!!

hii ari !! abt the second timeline where adriana was the protagonist .. i remember ur carrd saying that she was in a relationship w luna in that timeline too — would u imagine it being different in any way , compared to the third timeline ? would there be a case where one of them may remember parts of their relationship from the second, or have a 'gut feeling' / 'intuition' that was rly memories from the timeline before ? i hope this all makes sense LOL

Hmm.. I think that it would be at least a little bit different, by virtue of the fact that in the second timeline, Adriana fully took the role of the player as seen in-game, with no-one else surviving Grandview Station. So, as a result, while I do think that she and Luna would fall in love in the same way - Luna’s feelings appearing quite suddenly after Adri saves Gardevoir and later herself from the sanctum, which was midway through Adri’s own attraction rising slowly over time since meeting her - I also think that Adriana wouldn’t have been able to spend quite as much time with Luna as she had wanted, because she had more responsibilities as the spearhead of the movement to take down Team Meteor. As a result, it’s plausible to say that while we were definitely still close, it was not to as much of an extent (or at least had not developed to that extent yet).

Conversely, in the third/current timeline, Adri doesn’t have to be there for every single event, because there is now someone else travelling the region (in the form of the player), whom she is now mirroring by continuing to collect badges but doesn’t have to constantly be glued to. So, for example, she can spend more time with Luna after returning to Reborn City by not having to go through the Devon Corp raid. By the time the player has done that + defeated Adrienn + explored potentially the entirety of Tourmaline Desert (which is massive) + gone all the way through Titania’s gym, all that Adriana has to do in the same timeframe is just defeat Adrienn, fly from Beryl Ward to the top of Mirage Tower (to pick up Corybantia), then continue north to Never After - because she catches up with the player right before they battle Titania, at least if they’re on Reshiram Route. This (and other examples throughout the story, which I’ll admit I haven’t fully come up with yet) gives her much more downtime compared to the player.

What I haven’t considered as much as I could have is the last part of what you were saying, about feelings and memories of the previous timeline poking through. And I think that is a VERY fun concept to play with - the game sort of touches on it right at the end, but not really to much of an extent. In fact, something that I was considering was saying that Adriana’s experience - so, the second timeline - was closer to Episode 18 than it was to Episode 19, because the game itself was still only on Episode 18 when I myself first played it. This allows for some fun moments in terms of things like Adriana being surprised to hear the name Borealis so early, or being apprehensive to enter Agate until Cain and the player arrive, or suddenly feeling a lot less sure of things after defeating Hardy (because E18 only went up to his Gym battle even though Adri herself did actually get all the way to the end of maingame), or - to bring it back to an F/O-focused perspective - being even more shocked than everyone else that Elias tries to shave off Luna’s hair.

I think that Adriana would be the only one to really have these moments of.. I suppose you could call them anamnesis, but she isn’t necessarily remembering the previous timeline, just getting vague intuitions of things. This is because she’s the only one to have more explicitly been brought back in from the previous timeline - and brought back from her fate in that timeline - because of Anna’s feelings of guilt causing her to intervene more. If she hadn’t intervened beyond the point of a simple reset, it wouldn’t have been guaranteed that Adri still travelled out to Reborn (because she wasn’t the chosen hero for this timeline), defeating the main point of bringing her back - which was to make sure enough people would be present to power Anna’s wish if the new chosen hero, the player, had to be saved like that as she was. I do think there is potential for her to eventually become more anamnestic, certainly moreso than Fern, but that may not actually occur until.. maybe the Giratina quest. Which is late into postgame.

..I think it’s safe to say that I could ramble on about this for ages considering how much I’ve already written here in one go. So, thank you very much for such a question, friend - I am very grateful to have been asked it and it’s given me a LOT to think about!!

Cliff, Fudge, Amethyst, and Seagull's parents were all apart of an adventure's guild- The Sharp Point, named after their legendary leader Taffeta's signature weapon: a battleaxe fashioned from a large sewing needle. And since Dogear's other parent besides Taffeta, Bookmark the Box Dragon is the protector of the Box Dimension at large- what better fit to their ragtag aspiring adventurer group than him?

Although Taffeta has another child in her care besides Dogear, it doesn't seem like he's outside with his siblings today...

2.) Chauncey does mukbang streams for fun, usually twice a week whenever he's having dinner. He doesn't really care enough to monetize it, he just likes the idea of helping people feel less alone by 'sharing' a meal with them in a sense. Sometimes he cooks the food himself (which usually gets his sibling Mukluk to join since it's pretty darn tasty food), but he usually has fun with it nonetheless.

3.) Rollando loves to sing.

This is a problem, because he is a horrible singer. Despite his mother being a literal siren, and his siblings, Destin and Daytona both having excellent singing voices...Rollando's singing is awful enough to shatter glass. Even if he isn't particularly loud about while singing. Nobody likes his singing, and not even Rich will compliment it.

Scrabble likes his singing, and encourages it. Whether it's genuine or simply because he thinks it's funny seeing everyone groan from his horrible singing is a mystery, though...

Well, not really a specific license for voice acting, you just need to be a registered actor the same way people need to be to perform in theater, television, movies and stuff

Happy Nano! This is actually my second year doing Nanowrimo, and I started last year because I saw you talking about it, so thank you for that! I was able to write some more this year for Nano than I had last time, and even though I have a long way to go in terms of word count goals I’m pretty happy with my progress! I’ve spent a lot of time writing down my character and plot notes since I always forget to record my ideas, but I’m going to try writing out some shorter scenes today.

Speaking of writing, I saw you finished the wings AU today, which is awesome! Kudos to you! Funnily enough, when I was writing you this ask I was going to wish you good luck and wordsmithery with that, but then I checked on your tumblr to see you were already a step ahead of me! I haven’t actually read most of the wings au yet (still on my very long to-be-read list), but when I do I’ll try to let you know what I think!

Also speaking of reading, I think I’ve finally gotten out of my reading slump that I’ve been in for a while and now I’m reading the book Beating Heart Baby by Lio Min. It’s a really pretty and queer book about music and community and expression and overall it’s a great read! I’d definitely recommend it, although I’m guessing you already have a lot of books to read too. 

But yeah! And happy thanksgiving! I don’t know if you’re going to do any fun family or food stuff but I hope you enjoy your holiday! I’ll be enjoying mine too.

Hey Amethyst! I’ve been late to answering asks, but Happy Nano! I hope you enjoyed your second year and were happy with what you accomplished! And that your planning/scenes went well. I’m definitely guilty of forgetting to write things down, too, which is so annoying sometimes (*cough* wings au *cough*). 

And yes, I finished the wings au!! Which is incredibly surreal; I don’t think I’ve truly processed that, because it happened during Nano, so as soon as I finished writing/editing/posting I was just like right I still have to keep writing to meet the word goal, so I breezed right past it. But WOW. 366 THOUSAND words. 366,049. That’s the length of the Brothers Karamazov, which is over 800 pages. and it was like 3/4 years in the making. I can’t believe I keep forgetting I did that. Anyway, I always love hearing people’s thoughts about the au so if you ever read it (no pressure to, of course), please do share!

And woo! I’m working to get out of a reading slump myself right now, actually. I really want to read To Shape a Dragon’s Breath (i’m partway through), but I’ve had so much going on with finals and nano and the wings au that it’s been like banging my head against a wall. Which is rude, because I can tell the book’s very good and deserves better. So I’m resetting my brain with a quick, easy tgl reread :). And yes, you’re right, I do have a lot of books to read, but what’s one more in the grand scheme of things! I’ll add it to my list <3

I don’t really celebrate Thanksgiving, but I did go to my partner’s parents’ place for the afternoon since they were having a get together. I did get overstimulated and go quiet, but eh. It was fine. I hope you enjoyed yourself, and that if you celebrate anything this time of year that you enjoy that too

I think that I did an okay job portraying the growing feelings between the two characters, and since one is in the form of a wolf there isn't any sexual attraction, it's all purely emotional, which carries a different weight and makes it not quite a romance....anyway I learned that I'm not a romance writer lmao

We got friends-to-lovers (Aurelia and Graeme), we got comedic best friend (Luc), the mom friend (Pepper), we got found family (all the bois), we have overprotective big brother and little bro vibes (Pepper and Hale), group of all boys and one girl (also everyone in the house), and whatever tf the brooding strong boy side character trope is (Ezra). There's also a gangly gamer boy (Xander) but he's really not that important and idk if that's even a trope. Oh and an evil ex (Amethyst)! I think that's everyone from the main cast, there are more characters but idk if they count and this is already too long lol
