how the cod characters play among us
inspired by: me just playing among us with my friends
GRAVES: takes everything way too seriously but gets really mad when he is caught as the impostor. makes really unbelievable claims to try to save himself. just gets mad in general.
GAZ: was the one who introduced among us to everyone else. is the instigator and causes the fights in both chat and voice call. doesn’t speak when is impostor.
RODOLFO: terrible at staying alive. is typically one of the first ones to die. really good at being impostor, though.
SOAP: doesn’t do his tasks and gets mad when people tell him to do them. likes to “dance” under the security cameras. is always the one to take forever to vote and just chooses the skip option every time.
ALEJANDRO: likes to follow rudy but whenever the lights are shut off, rudy is killed and he tries to avenge the impostor. ends up being the second one killed.
GHOST: really good impostor. but whenever soap is following him around, he kills him in front of the crowd. causes sabotages to perform a stacked kill and pretends to argue with everyone else.
VALERIA: thinks it’s stupid but likes to bully the boys in the chat. always wins whenever she’s impostor.
PRICE: doesn’t know how to play. “it told me to go in the bloody vent so i went in the fucking bloody vent!” is the one who asks people to watch him throw the trash.
FARAH: always the first one done with her tasks and then accompanies alex in the security room. hides in certain spots to try to spot the impostor.
KATE: refuses to play with everyone else (she actually hates being killed and will haunt the person who left her alone in the first place).
ALEX: always gets lost because the maps are “too hard”. stays in security watching the cameras but ends up getting killed because of it.
KÖNIG: rage quits. nearly shits himself whenever he is killed. panics really easily during the game and tries to run to hit the emergency button but gets killed right as the meeting starts.

a lot of people reply to my post about video game ableism / inaccessibility w comments along the lines of "wow I'm not going to play that now" and it's like. that's not the point I'm making here. If you want to avoid games that have ableist tropes or inaccessible setting options, all the power to you, but you're not going to have a lot of games left. You have to care about and demand accessibility and accountability when it's not given or else you're just not going to get it, and if your first realization that something is wrong is a tumblr post, you have the ability to push for change on the behalf of the people who have been putting up with it the whole time

god even if the count weren't a literally bloodthirsty centuries-undead tyrant imagine that you are brand new to your job that's been the focus of your daily life for years and your boss (who's also pretty much your dad) says "here's your first client, he's rich powerful and particular, i specifically endorsed you for the job and said you'd be there in my stead" and then when you finally do meet the client in question he psychologically abuses, isolates and manipulates you to the point that you are in fear for your life at times. and then you have to confront the fact that your boss/basically dad/connection to your future employment is either aware of this or not and either way, whether it's complicity ignorance or neglect he doesn't have your back and you're probably going to have to tell people this powerful person abused you and who knows how they'll react. you think/hope your fiancee will get it cause she's always been ride or die and reminds you to respect yourself but like...she's also kinda dependent on this salary since she doesn't have family to lean on and schoolteaching pays way less than soliciting, and a part of you just doesn't know who you can trust at all after this.
that's hard enough modern day where we acknowledge abuse as a thing, let alone in Victorian times without the language. and drac is also very much a vampire. blorbo ultimate harker jonathan i love you hang in there baby

Had to run an on-the-fly, one hour session for my DnD class, and only half the kids were there.
Gave those suckers new sci-fi character sheets, assigned them jobs (engineer, pilot, medic), slapped down a battlemap of the Spear of Selene’s crash site and made them “escape the moon” before the bell rang.
Bonus moon mite, of course, and they ended up escaping with the baby (voluntarily on a nat20) the SECOND the bell rang. Lots of cheering and screaming.

HOA Among Us Gameplay
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seasons Greetings! Are you a House of Anubis fan? Do you find yourself wanting a chance to experience being the characters themselves? Did you play the Among Us game at some point in your life? Do you want to unite with your fellow HOA fans and accuse them of murder?
Well, this is the place for you!
Listen, as Sibuna followers we’re on top of anything spooky and creepy. Let’s put ourselves to the test and have a nice gameplay of Among Us. Maybe three rounds, maybe more depending how we’re feeling after.
We play as characters, try to be in character for as long as possible. If you’re Fabian or Nina, be super sleuthy. If you’re Patricia never stop accusing people or causing fights. If you’re Jerome… you’re probably the impostor.
When?
On December 27th, on 5PM AST (time is a default and available to change if contacted) we shall connect and play a rousing game of Among Us, dress up and name ourselves after our chosen HOA character and figure out the two imposters among us. You heard that right, folks! Two imposters.
I will be posting the game entry code 10 minutes before we begin so everyone can get settled.
Which Among Us map will we explore?
Map will be The Airship (it has a very Anubis House vibe to it). But since it’s also larger than most, I suggest practice playing it solo. For more information, please DM me and I can teach you how. If not, the map can always go back to the original setting: The Skeld.
Now, who are you going to be?
There are 15 slots for a full Among Us gameplay and if we have more than 15 people interested, I suggest to repeat the activity with the others the next day on Dec. 23rd. Anyone interested in replaying can do so as well if there are slots available for the next day.
Until then, the characters provided are listed below. Please write in the replies if you are interested and which character you would like to play as! Remember that this is a commitment for December 22nd!
characters not available will be crossed off
Nina Martin - @incorrectsibunaquotes
Fabian Rutter - @fakeosirian
Patricia Williamson
Amber Millington - @find-y0ur-j0y
Alfie Lewis - @wolfblood-of-anubis
Jerome Clarke
Joy Mercer - @katexxr
Eddie Miller
KT Rush
Mara Jaffray
Willow Jenks
Mick Campbell
Trudy Rehmann
Victor Rodenmarr Jr.
Whoever picks this spot gets to choose from the rest of the many side characters/recurring characters over the years. Examples include but not limited to:
Poppy
Piper
Rufus
Sarah
Vera
Mr. Sweet
Mrs. Andrews
Benji
Evil RFS
Caroline Denby
Harriet Denby
Letdown
Chat option ideas:
- we can stick to the Among Us chat box
- or we can make a Discord call and all chat on it during voting and emergency meetings. Another fun thing about Discord is you can just type your message rather than speak if you don’t want to.
let’s explore the chaos of anubis house, shall we?

Boat boys has emotionally destroyed me this episode. First joel hits etho (through the border). And then etho pulls out a fucking fishing rod, yknow, the thing that got them to red life last time, and starts making jokes about killing joel. Finally, after that happens, joel threatens etho and says he will make himself go yellow just to get revenge if it happens again (or somthing along those lines). Love loses, everyone.

what do you recommend for dying with beets? Use raw fiber, batts or already spun yarns? Cotton or wool? Do I have to shred up the beets or can I use the juice in the can and eat the beets myself ? Does it smell like beets? Use color fixer or something more natural? Dyou tbink I can like speckle it on an already commercially dyed pink yarn for pops of darker pink? or dip dye it for pink gradients?
Tbh I would recommend absolutely none of this, for the sole reason that beets, like red cabbage and tumeric, do not produce lasting dyes. The colors you get from them don't want to stick to things and even if you do manage to transfer color from the dyebath to your fiber, it will come out pretty quickly (within months at best) and usually the end result is something that kind of just looks stained.
To attempt to answer most of your questions though (which are very good questions, but would be answered with an unequivocal No if you're asking them about beets specifically):
I personally prefer dyeing things as washed fleece (not raw--you need to remove the dirt and lanolin or no dye will stick). It feels safest to me and I enjoy the extra freedom it gives over dyeing as yarn--with dyed fleece I can alter the color just by mixing other things in as I card it, or I can pull out the most vibrantly dyed sections and process them separately for different effects, etc. But it's entirely personal preference, and you can dye either yarn or fiber using natural materials without much difference.
I would not recommend dyeing batts using any traditional dyeing methods (except perhaps solar dyeing, which is very gentle), as the likelihood that you come out of it with a batt that's still spinnable, at least without reprocessing, is definitely lower than with fleece. I have heard of people dyeing batts by cooking them in a tray of dyebath in the oven, but I've never tried it and can't speak to how well it works. Batts should be alright with acid dyes, but natural dyes are (for the most part) not instant and require more time, heat, exposure, etc.
Wool is much easier to dye than cotton. I would always recommend testing new dyeing ideas on wool rather than a plant based fiber if possible.
Dicing or grating the dye material is not strictly necessary but is a good idea for larger or less permeable materials--for example, I don't bother shredding avocado peels because they just don't need it as they're very thin. But I do always chop avocado pits into small pieces, because cooking whole avocado pits is not very energy efficient, and possibly would not get all the dye out.
I definitely would not recommend trying to dye things using cans of food (especially the juice or canning water from said foods). You will get better, more vibrant color with fresh dye materials than with dried or frozen dye materials, and I have to imagine that extends to canned goods as well. Generally you also want to use both the juice and the fruit/vegetable/whatever, as you'll get a lot more color that way. I suppose if you were only dyeing a tiny amount of fiber, just using, say, blueberry juice and keeping the blueberries to continue cooking into jam, you'd be fine. Same if you had tons of blueberries and could easily amass large amounts of blueberry juice. But a definite limiting factor in natural dyeing is the amount of dye material that you can get your hands on, so people usually use all of that material instead of trying to reserve parts of it for eating.
I have never found that the smell of the dye material transfers to wool when it's dyed. Once it's dry it just smells like wool. Not necessarily the case with plant fibers, but I would generally not worry about making your wool smell like food permanently.
I don't know what color fixer is (the only thing with that exact name that came up was a laundry detergent for colored clothes that may have fugitive dyes--definitely do not use this in the place of a mordant), but the majority of natural dyes need things called mordants to adhere the color to the material. The more natural types of mordants are minerals (copper and iron are very commonly used) or tannins (such as from soaking acorns or from walnut hulls). Unless you are using a dye material that doesn't need a mordant (indigo and woad, for example, are well known for not needing mordants--although you also can't just throw them in a pot with water and simmer for a while to extract the dye from them, it's more involved than that. So there are trade offs), you will always need to mordant your fiber to get a good and long lasting color. For example, if you want to dye some wool with yellow onion skins and you don't mordant the wool, you will still end up with dyed wool. But it's a very light wheat color. If you want rich colors, you need to use a mordant.
Natural dyes are not suited for speckling yarns. Acid dyes work great for that, but natural dyes usually require you to fully immerse the fiber in the dyebath, and then expose it to heat over a long period of time. I do know that you can get speckled yarns using resist dyeing methods--essentially, if you take a skein of yellow yarn and tie sections of it very tightly and then dye it all in a red dyebath, you would get a primarily red (or reddish orange, perhaps) yarn with yellow speckles wherever those ties were. So that is one method that you could use to get a speckled yarn with natural dyes. But the method you're suggesting (just speckling it with a paintbrush or your hands for pops of different colors) is not suited to natural dyes. The most likely outcome of that would be no obvious change whatsoever. The second most likely outcome is probably just yarn with intermittent and random stains.
Natural dyes are not suited to dip dyeing, either. I think you could potentially get it to work, or at least get similar effects--you could mordant a piece of fabric/hank of yarn and then cook it in the dyebath like normal except leave part of it sitting next to and above the pot, which would then remain undyed. But whether the yarn would felt or get weird or whether there would be any unforeseen complications, that I don't know. It sounds like a good thing to experiment with once you already have some foundational knowledge of natural dyeing. But I wouldn't recommend it as a first project, for sure.
It sounds like the parts of dyeing that you have an interest in are better suited to acid dyes, so that might be a better route for you to go down ! If you do want to try natural dyes, I would recommend starting out with some good beginner dye materials, such as onion skins (by far the easiest and least bad-smelling dye material I've ever used, this would be my firm recommendation). Another good option would be powdered madder or other powdered dye materials (I specifically say madder, though, because it yields beet reds) that can be done without much fuss.
I hope this was helpful !

Crewmate Rose, aka “Crusade”, is the Skeld’s communications expert.
Taken into the ship via a rush recruit, the Skeld’s captain failed to realize their affinity for music, which can often be heard blasting full volume at random intervals and often seem to neglect their actual job, preferring to tinker with the older coms systems and occasionally wander the Skeld at random intervals.
Generally easygoing, they acquaint themselves well with the crew, seeming to enjoy finding out their different tastes in music.
