i heard you had a fursona and i was curious to know about them if you’re willing to share :]

oh of course!!! :]] here he is!

i <3 robot furries so he's a robot dog! i based him most obviously off of transformers (specifically idw tailgate and ironfist) (named kibble both cuz dog and cuz that's the term in transformers fandom for extraneous robot-parts that don't serve much purpose on a 'human' body ie wheels etc) but i also wanted to, in 2024 redesigning him for this ref sheet, make him a bit easier to follow as an anthro dog design and able to be worked into furry stuff, while still being visibly mechanical ^_^

in the ways of lore i really don't have much for him - honestly he's just a standin for myself - but i have the concept that he was made to be a sort of living computer. genius database, future of technology, etc... but his storage capacity's small and his scope of interests even smaller, so he doesn't really have much actually technically helpful knowledge... he does, however, have encyclopedic levels of knowledge about nonsense things like tvtropes and trivia for whatever show he's into now.

(^really this is just a way (FOR ME PERSONALLY i should say as i know 'autistic robot' is a bad stereotype for a reason) to express autism as that's what it feels like for me a lot of the time. having a lot of passion and drive to learn but only in the few things your brain's latched onto - and of course the social hurdles that will come with being a robot in 'human'(furry?) society)

he's very inexpressive - doesn't have pupils, doesn't blink, has no mouth (the robotic muzzle isn't a mask, it's just what his face looks like), and i imagine he speaks mechanically too (i waffle between making him mute, giving him a text-to-speech type thing, or limiting his communication to pulling up webpages haha)

he's also one of those fursonas that has a few different designs and such depending on the 'verse, i've drawn him in the context of transformers designs for selfshipping a few times (specifically w/ mtmte first aid, and moreso idw/es tarantulas) and i should do that again :] depending on the situation his design falls in many different places along the furry-mech scale lolol

to get real: i've been a furry and had fursonas since. like. im gonna say as far as 2008, since i was very small :]c but kibble's the first one in a long time i feel actually suits me in both a "feels like me" sense and a "fun character to draw with some degree of fun fantasy" - cuz for a long stretch of time, when i stopped being into sparklecats and the like as a teenager, i fell hard into the "truesona" type of furry designs...

...which, nothing wrong with those, but as someone with crummy self esteem, just kind of led to me hyperfocusing on myself as a kind of "boring slob" type of character. not interesting enough to be anything but a plainly colored realistic animal, and too self-conscious about my appearance to feel too comfortable straying from "fat, depressed, tired and messy slob", as to portray myself as anything but that felt dishonest.

until one day, and this was at the height of my transformers hyperfixation so i'd grown attached to very inhuman robot-y designs, i just kind of realized, "hey, if i wanted, i could make my sona anything i want, right? i like robots and my friends compare me to dogs, i could make a robot dog! i could have fun designing a mech anthro dog!" and. i did lol. and it's the happiest i've been with a fursona, both from a design standpoint and a 'me' standpoint :]]

Alright these have been off in my gallery for a while- but I've been meaning to share them

My silly little wacky family

This is from my human au Fazbear's Popstars! I haven't shared much about it, but i got a whole ass google docs file with the au's timeline, story, and characters lmao, i can maybe share some screenshots of that for yall if ya want

But MAN, i love this au so much, i could go all out crazy and info dump about them-

But to keep it short, Freddy's actual name is Gabrial, and his is Sir Fazbear's son (there's more to it and the og gang but imma leave yall to be curious and ask questions about it 😌 bc i miss interacting with yall as well-)

Gregory is Freddy's bio kid. The mom was just someone Freddy had a one night stand he accidentally got pregnant, but he never knew it bc she left before he woke up. She later on just left the newborn to his arms and left (again alot more to this, like why and how Freddy met this woman and did the deed lol)

The sassy queen over here is my oc Beeanca Queen, she was introduced here, i haven't shared alot of her yet tho, but i have a few plans to introduce her now that i got free time, her actual name is Destiny in this au

She's gonna be Freddy's gf/fiance on the au, marriage comes in a bit later. She's Greg's momma bee. Her and Freddy's dynamic came with the silly thought of, bears have the reputation of liking honey, bees make honey....you get the picture

Oh and Rammy is in this au as well. This au is the human version of my own au where Rammy is from, which the au is currently unamed as i haven't focused on it as much lol, but since it's just the og world just with my ocs, there isnt much to be talked about other then my oc's roles

There's also gonna be a few variations to this au where i mix things up with my buddy's @moth-berry human au, with her oc Quinnie, whom i very much love 🤲💞💞💞

Also also, this is my new favourite artstlye. Not really what imma do often, but it's quite easy to do when it comes to simple quick drawings

Tho definitely not easy (for me) to make it a full piece, or a comic, but it works to do quick ref sheets or just silly characters show off

I basically just doodle sum on paper, take a picture and transfer to ibispaint, go to the option of removing the white color of the picture. It won't look any different, until you take a layer underneath and color it, the picture is transparent. So i can just color in and once i remove the picture layer, i can just add quick in details and I'm done

It's so easy and fun, i kinda wanna draw more like that hehe

Anyways, let me answer each question

1. Actually no, all I'm expecting is school and a bunch of workloads to face with a lot of expectations and questions awaiting on my doorstep of what would be my course in college and my strand in senior. Although Christmas is around 5 months away and I know I never really celebrate Halloween that much but I'mma support you once you're gonna start off Halloween in a very early way possible.

2. I might be very tired and lazy, sometimes busy with enrollment, irl stuff, and grinding the whole season of Golden Kamuy but I may still continue on working with their reference sheets and information. For any future plans, maybe I would finally just went to do some work on my BOCW ocs and MW oc due to the fact that I am working on my Golden Kamuy Oc in which you will know her soon after once I get to finish coloring her ref sheet. I may also work on my self insert since I sometimes draw them once in a blue moon and would work on redesigning them. I wanna do Len and Art (Agarthan Arthur?) screentime since I have so many plans for these two. I would also try and make some oc x canon content even if it means crying over how hard Primis Nikolai's outfit can be :'>. I may also start posting more GK oc content with her being shipped with Tsurumi (cause why not?) and trying to practice how to draw each GK characters just in case if the time comes. I might also start making my Vinland Saga oc, but gotta need to work on my Viking history since I known only a little bit.

3. That one fun fact that would always be part of my heart is Tsurumi tends to play with his porcelain enamel plate while taking a bath. There is a small comic on the wiki page where he just lets the plate float on the water like a paper boat. Gotta love this unhinged yet handsome man 💖

Do you have any tip or advice on how to make a good oc ref sheet/description please? It's been years since I wanna make some for my ocs but I can never make a good one :(

Well, if you're not searching for something super "professional" or industry standard then really, a ref sheet can be anything! Ref sheets are just guides for others or yourself to follow when drawing a character. And that can be as simple as a pre-existing drawing of said character- although it's also important to consider the purpose you want this ref to serve. For example, this ref I made was just me putting any ideas I had for Pei in one spot, for ease of finding it later- it wasn't really meant for anyone but myself.

However, if you're making it for other people to use as a guide, then it's a good idea to have whatever info you think they will need to draw them accurately. People usually go for something with a fullbody, fully colored, etc.

Some even go for turn-arounds, where they draw the character from different angles.

But these are all just suggestions! Most artists I know have their own methods/standards for character refs. Like my good pal @glitterrgunk makes these, which shows off different aspects of the character including personality/backstory through added text:

(Seriously though if ur into these kinds of characters/art, it has plenty of other examples on it's social media go follow :]) These r very organized and somewhat complex, but sometimes a ref can be something as simple as this

Really, anything can be a ref!! Just have fun showing off ur character, and don't sweat the small stuff!!

It’s now 2022 so now to get to work with my resolution which is:

streamline the house. super clean, organize, and sell/donate extra stuff. We have much too much stuff stashed away in the garage and I want to get that cleared out.

actually write something dammit. other than a couple days of fictober. i’ve been sitting on my main fic for so long and i wanna get back to it and get to prompts i’ve been sitting on again.

draw more. draw lots. new ocs and old. (already ref hunting since this’ll be more ref practice. more cuddly type refs but also some more combat refs)

included in the draw more. I wanna do more meme redraws and some screenshot redraws. as well as headshots and outfit sheets

replay my canon warden/hawke/inquisitor (probably in the summer when we might possibly get DA4 news, I started replaying Rana but I might restart that to fix a couple things)

I also want to finish 3 games i’ve never played before. I don’t think that would be too difficult, especially since a couple in my list are half done. (i started reach and AC2 last year but i didn’t get a chance to finish it so i think i’ll get back to those but i don’t think i’ll count them as the 3 new games for this)

here’s the list of games i haven’t played that i have to choose from atm btw:

It’s only stuff I own atm, so nothing that’s “oh i really wanna get this so i’ll add it on the list”. just stuff that’s in my library i haven’t gotten to yet.

(Also side note I've been considering making an OC for my CTW AU similarly to ur character u told me abt whos in a relationship w/ Dylan and Brooke and uh. For the same reason asdfghjkl I just wanna make an OC to be Dylan's partner system and also I like the idea of Brooke just parading around with her two partners both of whom have like 11 other partners of hers living in their brain each jdhdhfbdhbfhdhsh)

And now I realize I'm just projecting the kind of relationship I wish I could be in onto these guys ndbdhfhdbf

That reminds me, I should probably make some actual ref sheets for them, so no not yet but I have drawn some of them already if you look back in my blog enough, or just use some of my videos for reference

Actually, I didn't have any. But, for this ask I went ahead and made one for my sona.

This is S.M.P 1.1.2.3 or Sarahlynne.

Age: 17

Birthday: November 23

Hight: 4ft 8"

Favorite foods: Ice cream, Biscuits and gravy, Chicken Alfredo, chicken and dumplings

Least favorite foods: anything with BEANS (unless it's green beans), eggplant, avacodo, grape fruit, peas, Mexican candy

Hobbys: Read, write, draw, paint, voice act, sing, fantasize, play video games, animate both in 2D and in 3D, hang out with what ever friends she has at the time

Info: Sarahlynne is an autistic, home schooled young woman, who would more then anything love to hang out with her friends all day. The only problem is she can't seem to keep them for long. Most of the time, she is lonely and disiers to feel acceptance with whom ever she is with. She is very caring about others and there feelings, maybe a little to much at times. She will go out of her way to do favors for others, sometimes she will put herself in harms way for them. Sometimes she will cry herself to sleep at night asking herself why she can't keep any of her friends close to her. To try to fill the void of lonleyness, she creates her own friends for her, and makes adventures with them.

Though she dose not have a boyfriend in your reality, she dose have one in another, her boyfriend is Underfell!Sans or Red for short. Many of the other Sans's and a few of the Papyrus's tried to win her heart, but her and Red seemed to just click. They have been together for almost a year now and will keep going from what it looks like.

This is my first reference sheet that I have ever done, so please for give me if it's kinda rough. I will be making some more references sheets for other Ocs. Also thank you for the ask!! I got really excited for this one. :D

Man, I forgot to post 90% of my art here for the past while. I’m gonna do an art dump in this post under the cut. Enjoy the bonk emoji if you don’t click the read more, and man am I dumb and forgetful lmao.

Includes: OCs getting names, a Sonic impression, a D&D map, homosexual energies, a sheep floating in the astral sea, a birthday drawing I already posted, Hex Maniac Ender, D&D Characters, D&D Characters as Miis in Miitopia, Little Hater Axel, local Demon in the consciousness of my D&D character yelling at him, illegal plants, a necromancer being cute, an actual event that happened in a D&D game two days ago, and Mermay drawing.

I’m gonna try and sort of have them in chronological order, oldest first, but I may end up putting them in the wrong order. If I do... Whoops, I guess?

[04/14/21] - This isn’t really new art, but I started to work on giving the four OCs of mine without a full name full names... I have not finished this bit, though. So Hunter and Akira have full names, and Warlock and Assassin only have temporary names. This may end up like Seven where I put in their names as a temporary name (7th OC I’d made at that time) and it just kind of... sticks. Lmao.

[04/20/21] - Alone on a Friday Night? God, you’re pathetic. I didn’t colour this one because it was a half-attempt at a meme image I still like it, though, so I might end up colouring it. It’s gonna appear again whenever I do my “unfinished drawings art dump” at some point probably in... June? I know I said I’d post them last month but forget it, lmao, it’ll happen eventually.

[04/20/21] - A D&D Map! This was to help me visualize the layout of my D&D character’s ship he used to be on. Also for my DM if they ever put us aboard the ship. The little fella in the corner is just there to vibe. This map is made of free to use assets from This Website, so while I’m gonna say DONT USE MY MAP WITHOUT PERMISSION, feel free to make your own!

[04/26/21] - Lesbian Day of Visibility drawing of yours truly, the disapointment! That’s... really all I have to say about this, honestly. It was just for that one day and that was it, lmao. I mean, I accidentally lined it in dark pink, so.. .That’s different, I guess?

[04/30/21] - Do Astral Seas dream of Ensorcled Sheep? Does the City know what Sheepleb is going to do? What crimes he may commit? Who knows! This was fan art of Critical Role ep. 134 if I remember correctly, right at the end when they jumped into the portal into the astral sea and Caleb was a sheep. Using my knowledge of the German language, I knew the word for “shit”, and had to use it.

[05/07/21] - This was already posted, but it’s going in here to dilinuate that it was drawn at this point. Also, aside from playing Miitopia, this is all I have to show for myself until the 12th.

[05/12/21] - Hex Maniac Ender challenges you to a Pokemon Battle! WIll you win against my team? My sis, who loves fairy types, pointed out to me that there’s a fairy girl and hex maniac duo, so I’d be the hex maniac. I spent... Over a week drawing this, because I basically had to redraw the Hex Maniac art from scratch in a higher quality size, and then draw myself over it. So... You can excuse the low-effort background for once. It was basically this, and then my birthday doodle from May 1st to May 12th, and then I took a break to draw up several D&D characters quickly for fullbody references.

[05/12/21] - Remember this art I made several months ago? I finally added my other two completed characters! I have three more named but without character sheet D&D characters, so for now this is just Kara, Axel, Golden Shadow, Kau, Cecillia, and Miri. Kress, Tempest, and Melia will have to wait until I make character sheets for them to be posted, and... For when I probably make more D&D characters. I have at least 9 additional, incomplete character ideas floating around, so... I’m never gonna be done this art, huh?

[05/12/21] - Speaking of D&D characters, did you know I’ve been making them as Miis in Miitopia? So here is their finished full body art next to their Miitopia self! Some of them look a little off (Golden Shadow, Cecillia) because of limitations of the editor and shading issues, some of them look a little off (Kau, Kress) because this is a human face canvas that I’m using to make a non-human face, and some of them (Melia, Axel) look REALLY GOOD. Common traits among my D&D characters include green eyes and tall. You wanna know why? Because I am tall and... despite having red eyes, I do have green eyes under the coloured contacts.

[05/15/21] - More D&D stuff! This is based around my D&D group’s current Rime of the Frostmaiden campaign where our Goliath Fighter, Nioh, ends up getting a little bit of hate for being cocky, and our little (well over 6′) hater, Axel, is just a man full of irritation. These are the tallest two characters of the group at the moment. Someone send help. Nioh belongs to one of the other D&D players, Axel (and his stupid additude) belongs to me.

[05/15/21] - This is what me playing D&D feels like. Me, the demon entity trapped inside the head of my D&D character, yelling at them to do things while the dice decide that they’re gonna get bopped a hundred times by a yeti and somehow still survive. This is also a reference to our first or second game where I just ran off like sixty feet to one side of the battle map to fight a Crag Cat and was just in Gay Baby Jail until like two turns later when I could run back to the others. I also drew him not in his winter gear even though this is a bit from when we were atop Kelvin’s Carin in an icy cave, so maybe that’s why he’s at low HP.

[05/15/21] - Melia has good gardening tips, such as Use A Mars Mii Trap To Hide A Body Because They Are Endangered And It Is Illegal To Dig Them Up. I love her a lot, because she’s the youngest of four, all four sisters based around the different seasons. She’s based around Autumn, so she’s all orange and yellow and brown and is so cute. Also she’s Chaotic Neutral, as if she didn’t need to be mildly more threatening.

[05/15/21] - Cecillia is my Tiefling gal who lived in a very northern town plagued by cold weather and snow, and Axel is my Pirate guy who spent most of his time further south on the high seas and warmer weather. So, naturally... I’ll use the guy more acclimatized to the hotter weather in the campaign where we spend 99% of it in the snow. She uses Tarot Cards as her spell focus, and I decided to sneak my other D&D characters onto her Tarot cards so naturally, Axel is The Hanged Man, given his backstory and personality. She’s a very cheerful and friendly Tiefling Necromancer of the Hexblade, so she’d for sure take care of those around her to ensure their success. Especially if they’re on her Tarot Cards, and their spirit comes to her aid when she asks for them.

[05/16/21] - Content Warning; Ryma thinks too much into local stupid moron’s lack of knowing how to answer a question and thinks too much into the reputation of Pirates. Poor Axel, man doesn’t know how to socialize with people who aren’t pirates and is used to being hostile towards everyone, so when he’s asked a question that his answer to is “uhh... no?”, he panics and ends up making a mistake that leads him to think that Ryma can read his mind. Ryma belongs to another of the D&D players. I guess me drawing all those spicy Cow Costumed OCs earlier just brought me to drawing Axel being a bottom in this, huh?

[05/16/21] - It’s Mermay, which means more OC drawings! Here’s Theo after drinking some potion that turned him into a mermaid, and Seven, tiredly, collecting his stupid boyfriend so that Lailah can fix the fact he’s turned into a mermaid. Mer!Theo is based around his sword’s colours of indigo-purple with red accents, which looks a little weird since Theo is the Blue one of the group, but... it looks cool, I guess. Seven’s just the same outfit as always, just no gloves this time.

And that’s it for the art dump! This was, frankly, MASSIVE. I’ll try and remember to upload both on Twitter and Tumblr at the same time, but... Ah... I have been drawing a fair bit. Just mostly sketches and linework that I haven’t finished and may not actually finish. If they’re not completed, I’ll dump them all into something at the end of the month or whatever. Maybe you’ll get the old sketch of the Axel face in panel 3 because in the sketch phase it was an Ahegao face, in the clean sketch it was a lip bite, and in the linework and final it’s just horny face. lmao.

Top ten things I have to remember for drawing: AXEL HAS A SCAR AND GREEN EYES. I remember his eye colour now, but if you look at his fullbody ref, he’s got brown eyes. And, naturally, I keep forgetting to put in his scar. He has more, but most of them are located in areas covered by his clothes. So if I ever draw him shirtless I guess I’ll have to place them somewhere.

Also maybe finish the reference sheets I have left to finish so I can post more of them, since I have two “Pets” completed (Roko and Mona’s nameless pet), but I have to do up Hunter, Warlock, Assassin, Akira, Myuut, and Stella. I’m betting when I do complete two more, it’ll be Hunter and Akira. Those two are the most fun to draw, at least.

FNAF Squad Reference Sheets

The time has finally arrived!

After many years of cursing myself about making Reference Sheets fo my characters I pulled myself together and busted out 4 Refs for my main FNAF Squad! X3

... never ever owo

Seriously, it nearly killed me drawing these. The only saving grace was that I had a base body that I just copy-pasted and changed up a little in hights and body type/s X'D

But after 3 weeks I finally did it and I love every single one of these!! Seriously, love them, they perfect, I'm SO proud of them and myself for making them X3

And of course Vinnie had to be the first one of them all, cuz duh X'D

URGH I just love Vincent so much! Yeah, yeah, call me whatever you want, but this particular Purple Man will always be my Number 1. He's the most fun Character I made, ever, and without him I don't know who I would be today. He's important to me and I care ALOT about him <3

Rick is my soft bb boi. I love him, I love how I drew him and anybody who says anything against him is going to have a problem with me e3e

Jokes aside, I would've never thought that my 'Purple Man'-wanna be that I spontaneously made in a FNAF 2 RP would become such a great character. OP af, maybe a bit basic, but also so god damn interesting and fun.

Aaaand with Keith my FNAF Universe crumbled into pieces X'D

Well, not really BECAUSE of him, but FNAF 4 really was something that was hard to add into my Universe, since it's mostly fixed on Vincent's side of the story.

But, I really appreciated Keith being made in the first place! He opened up another way to introduce the Nightmare Animatronics and with Keith there was another part of Vincent's and Rick's story to make it a little more interesting. He was also the one who gave PG a purpose in the Universe, so I'm actually really glad to have this edgy-wanna be in my squad X'3

I'm still in shock on how similar he is to Necro, a Sonic OC that is paired up with a perverted God, and Echo, a cyborg Pikachu with a bright red robot right eye, AND basically looking like a Darkrai gijinka and also having nightmare abilties. I remember how this boi started and I'm so glad that I managed to come up with a really good story to integrate him into the Universe without breaking Vincent's story and dangerious and dark theme.

He and Keith were the most chill Refs to make, hands down and I'm so glad that I could make them as fast as I did X'D

Together with the others I had alot of fun making these Refs and changing my boiz a bit up here and there, optimizing their designs and giving them new life in general X3

(Below are smol bios for each character)

Vincent, the Purple Man.

He's a cunning Mastermind and confident in his killing skills. He's no opponent somebody should take lightly, Vincent is fast, strong and agile, always thinking of a plan and being one step ahead from his enemy. Due to him dying and haunting an ANimatronic suit himself this Purple Guy has the ability to turn into a 'Ghost-Form' that allows him to do all the typical Ghost stuff, but sadly all of that just for a very short time. After his victims forgive him however, seeing the torture Vincent was going through, he was given another chance at life, with a new body that doesn't age and can heal itself. Vincent doesn't really like other people and shows off his own confidence to stay ahead. But sometimes he can be a real dork around his friends and have a great time with them, joking around and messing with them.

He smokes from time to time and drinks ALOT of coffee to try and stay awake for his own sanity, as grueling nightmares of his past horrid actions still haunt him to this day. Vincent tries his best to forget as he has been forgiven, and also make up for what he has done, but some habits are hard to break and some wandering spirits are still after his second chance of life ... .

Rick, the Shadow Man.

A friendly and helpful individual that would give his life for his friends. Don't take him as a fool, Rick might look like your average goody two shoes, but the moment somebody harms him or his friends Rick pulls off his kiddie gloves. His Ghost-Form, also known as his Shadow Form, is the most dangerious creatures somebody could face. Hvaing all the abilities as a Ghost, plus controlling shadows, hiding away in them, modifying his body, having a radar-like abilty making him aware of his sorroundings and the people around him; Rick is a force to be recken with. All these abilities he gained after his best friend, the Purple Man, killed him in a blood rush, making Rick a haunting, vengeful Ghost and fusing with the darkness around him. Though after Rick realized how much hurt he gave Vincent he forgave him and is now walking the world with anew life and body, that doesn't gae and can heal itself.

Rick is an optimist and will always try to talk things out. He loves kids and can play the guitar very well. His past does weight hard on him, but he tries to move forward enjoy his new life with his old and new friends.

Keith, the Nightmare Man.

He might send out vibes that make people think that he's rather emotionless, non caring, maybe even easily angered. And even though Keith likes to burst out in anger or annoyance, that is all in good fun. Behind the dark facade is a really warm hearted and nice guy that cannot sit still whenever someone is crying or hurt, if just a bump or a serious injury. He has very deep expertises in both mechanical, technical and the mdeical field and is always there to support his friends and innocent people cought in the middle. Due to Vincent, Keith lost his life as well, but started to walk the wolrd again as a raging vengence dragged him back into the living world. This gave him the push to show off his skills and new abilities to form dreams to his won will, creating nightmares and even forcing people to do his bidding and create abominations that could tear appart anything he pleased ... which were his former friends, Vincent and Rick. After a violent fight though these two men showed Keith the light and he too was forgiving them for what had happened. Now he works together with his old friends, protecting his new and improving his skills even more, while stitching his friends back togetehr whenever they dare to get themselves into trouble.

Keith can be really serious about his work, but he knows how to laugh and have a good time, showing off his new creations and lovingly helping and caring about his friends. Though his past actions have created something he still curses himself for.

PG, the Purple Guy.

What can be said about this guy? He's a careless, chill and very perverted guy, that lives life without a second thought. PG looks and acts alot like an idiot, but deep down he's just as dangerious and inteligent as Vincent, as PG himself is a Purple Guy as well. His origin is from a differet Universe and due to an unfortunate circumstance he ended up as ginue pig for experiments and a slave for another's amusement. His spirit was broken ... until something happened that gave PG the will to escape and follow his new friends, Vincent, Rick and the others back to their world. With his own world destroyed and nowhere to go he wandered around and bumped into Keith,bonding with him and even becoming a memeber of the new Fazbear family. PG also died and got pulled back, but compared to the others, his Ghost form and self healing ability is broken and unstable to say the least.

He doesn't like to get in serious trouble, but loves to tease and have fun with his friends, while also drinking like there was no tomorrow and annoying Keith with his sexual advances and jokes.

I’m goin’ on another little Hiatus! (sort of) to give myself a break, and also to allow the AU to have time to collect its bearings during the airing of the FIVE NEW EPISODES (disincluding Legs) for SU.

If I make it in time, the last comic for this year (gasp) will post on the 16th, Sunday.

But you know me, I’ll probably sneak something else in.

What can the comic be about?

Literally anything (as long as it’s not nsfw and not clearly illegal.) You can draw things that you THINK will happen or things that you WANT to happen, or whatever! You can draw AU on top of AU (for example, Canon!Steven and White!Steven meeting.) You can draw the future, or the past.

Can I draw comics that include my OCs?

Yeah, sure, go for it. But please make sure that the comic you create will have at least 10% of WhiteDiamond!Steven AU stuff in it. Otherwise that’s not much of a guest comic.

How long should the comics be?

Preferably there should be at least 3 panels. The upper limit doesn’t exist, but don’t tire yourself out!

What size does the comic have to be?

The ideal width is 800px, and the ideal length is between 800 and 1600px. If you send me something bigger, there’s a good chance I’ll resize it anyway, so please keep to this size to save me some time.

What time should I do this by?

There’s no time limit, but I can’t promise that comics submitted AFTER January 21st 2019, will be posted. If they will be, it’ll probably be later, during other intermissions.

I can’t do a comic. Can I submit fanart or cosplay, or a lil’ animation?

Hello there, sorry to bother you, but I saw your lovely doodles of your Hollow Knight oc and I was wondering how you get the confidence to post such things? I love making ocs but every time I do, a part of me starts screaming about how dare I have a fictional creation of my own interact with canon characters. It feels self indulgent to make ocs like that, and as such, something you can't post, so how do you get around that? Is there something wrong with that sort of stuff?

Ah well, I’ve been posting my stuff online for years now, ever since I joined Deviantart like 5, 6 years ago, and I was always really excited and driven to try and post and share my ideas online. Back then it was all OCs from the little headworld / story I have figured out, but regardless it was a pretty easy progression to making OCs for games I like [ the whole 2 games I’ve ever done fanart for lol ].

All that to say, I might not be able to give the best advice, because it was never really hard for me to post my stuff. I’ve always loved the idea of sharing my ideas in some fashion.

But! The first thing I think is good to remember with making fandom OCs and having them interact with canon ones is - this is fandom. Everything is self indulgent. Even the most canon compliant fic or artwork is coming from someone who thought “You know what I want ? To make this thing !” It’s one of the keystones I think, of fandom period. The idea that you want to contribute to or add to the thing that you love, while surrounded by people who also love that thing. There is absolutely nothing wrong with making yourself a character and going “Hey everyone, look at this thing I made! Isn’t it rad??”

Whether you get a response or not is a completely different story, but on a personal level, you creating and posting these things ? With today’s internet culture thats really normal, and actually a pretty good way of making friends and socializing in situations you wouldn’t normally be in.

After you’ve run that through your head a couple of times [ which I had to do with posting fanfiction, actually, now that i think about it ] the best thing to do is then actually post it. You might wanna warm up to it. If you’re really that nervous you can start with just making OCs and putting them in the background somehow, and still keeping canon characters the main focus of attention. Or you can dive in head first with a ref sheet of your OC and a faux streak of confidence. Either way, I think one of the best ways of breaking the illusion of “this content is terrible and self-indulgent” is by throwing it out there and realizing, it really isn’t. People have done this for ages before you did, and ages after you do. You are, in the most wonderful way, just one more idea in this massive pile of creativity inspired by something you love. It’s an amazing experience, and despite what some exclusionists in your community might say, it’s one of the best things about enjoying a piece of media.

Now like, addressing something kind of related to this: Most people I feel like get the idea that making OCs is bad because there’s a vocal minority of people who, for some reason, just decided one day they didn’t like it. You know, cringe culture people. They’re the same reason I for the longest time didn’t write or read fanfiction. I’d let other people convince me it was all just, bad. Badly read, badly written, badly themed, etc. And a lot of people also feel like they shouldn’t make OCs for fandom things for the same reason [ it got really big with the Undertale fandom, which just sucks in general ]. And honestly ? The people who decide that, don’t matter. No one person will ever be able to please everyone, and people who believe in cringe culture specifically I think shut down a lot of the enjoyable parts of their fandom all for the sake of seeming cooler or more interesting than someone else, when in reality they just kind of seem. Mean. And unable to have fun themselves.

At the end of the day you shape your own fandom experience, you take the reigns on how you enjoy something. And if you think it would be really fun to make these characters and throw them out for everyone to see? Do it. You’re allowed to do things just because they’re fun, or you think it’s a neat idea. You’re allowed to be passionate about something that’s inspired by something else. And in the long run you’ll probably even learn something from it, which is one of the best things !
