Im about to get controversial.

Out of chrollo, illumi and hisoka, hisoka is canonically the least likely to flirt to get anything he wants, if at all.

A lot of people think he's a natural flirt but I fear I couldn't have disagreed more. He only "flirted" a single time and that was solely to piss off machi, knowing she'd never agree. Hot take? He would've never asked if he knew she'd agree.

Also, bro's the biggest humanphobe in the anime. He keeps his distance from everyone. The only human physical contact he ever made was through fighting people. (If you're a person thats interested in seeing more evidence, I have an entire long thread about it on twitter that I do plan on posting here soon)

so u cannot give me 1 reason for hisoka to flirt with someone at a random bar but chrollo and illumi? i can think of a few.

chrollo, he already canonically flirts to get what he wants. straight up goes on dates gets a suit and shit. he has no reputation among the general public that hes concerned of that isnt the spider. Illumi? He's a manipulator. I HIGHLY doubt he never flirted to get something in his life from people who are too easy to win over. He's someone that wouldn't care what people think of him. He's also anonymous. People have no idea who tf he is anyways. If it affected the zoldyck reputation? Thats a different story.

Hisoka? he would fucking NEVER. Him specifically? HE HAS A REPUTATION. And whats that reputation? That hes an absolute disgusting freak that no one should dare to approach. He kills people. He fights live and makes sure the audience is always disgusted and weirded out by his actions and performances. You look at him and you should immediately look away and pray he hasn't seen you.

So riddle me this. If his entire shtick is making sure everyones afraid of him and avoids him, then why the hell would he get himself a reputation that makes him approachable????

Why would he get himself a reputation that makes you, as a person who only ever heard of him picking people up, want to approach him.

On top of that, I just.. don't see him picking random people up..??? random weaklings that dont even know nen????? he literally treats them like trash that inconveniences his time. You're saying he'd EVER give them the privilege of sleeping with him???

And then you'd say, oh so he'd sleep with strong people! HERES THE THING. Why would he sleep with them..... when he can fight them. Him getting off from fighting comes NOWHERE to actual sex. What people don't understand is that he gets off to killing people and seeing them crumble in front of him when they realize theyre going to die. Torturing people to death. What's... that got to do with like. yknow. actual sex bro 😭😭😭😭😭😭

this turned into a huge rant probably but do you know how genuinely depressing it is seeing a unique character like hisoka that gains lust through FIGHTING and KILLING reduced to. sex addict in fics. Like. be so fucking serious right now. He called himself a FIGHT ADDICT in the manga. Can I see more of him actually spending his time killing and fighting people instead of whatever the hell bros doing with a random npc.

there really are So Many horrible things about newjeans, but the worst thing about their group really is that they really arent about the music. they will Never be about the music. its not as if the girls are once in a generation vocalists, or that their music is incredible and breaking new ground on what pop music can be, or that theyre empowering a younger generation but here's the thing about that; even in the hypothetical world that all those things WERE true i would still think that the group should not exist. the kpop industry - like EVERY music industry on the planet - is exploitative. there are no two ways around it, and while it is a bad enough environment for adults to be, it is Disgusting for children to be in, but ESPECIALLY children who are in a group that was solely made to pander towards and older audience; i.e., adults. their music is not for people their age; it just isnt. all groups have their target audience; newjeans target audience is, without a doubt, adults, and more specifically adult men. that would be a problem for any group of young women, but the fact that they are so young just makes it so much worse. and its not the girls fault; of course its not. its the fault of the people who debuted them; who write their music; who make their styling decisions; who choreograph their dances; who at no fucking point have a single one of these girls best-interest at heart. all they care about is exploiting these very young girls to make a profit and to create a fanbase that has absolutely no qualms about their age; to the fans who have supported newjeans since the beginning, their age is the sole reason to like them. its sickening and it should not be happening but it will continue to bc the people who support them will always be louder than the people criticizing them bc theyre buffered by people who, while they might not follow newjeans, dont see their group as big of a problem as they should. for some reason, when groups like this exist, there are not only outright supporters, but people playing devils advocate and saying 'hey, why SHOULDNT they be a group? theres nothing explicitly wrong with them!' even though there is. there are MULTIPLE things wrong with newjeans as a kpop group. those girls should be nowhere near that industry, and yet theyre in the middle of it. only one member is old enough to be out of highschool; some are barely old enough to be IN high school. thats a fucking problem, and i dont know why some people have such a hard time seeing that.

Hello! Firstly I wanted to say that I'm an old fan since your overwatch days and I've always admired how much depth you're giving all the characters and relationships you touch! I'm talking like, mariana trench DEPTHS. And how confident you seem about just doing the things you enjoy and exploring the themes you want? I really respect that.

I'm having a bit of an art crisis recently and I was wondering If you could offer some advice?

I'm thinking about self-indulgence in art, particularly fanart. I like to dive in deep to expand on characters, I find it as enjoyable as creating my own work. But I fear of people getting angry at me for latching onto these characters, thay they'll say the original work wasn't THAT deep, or that I'm completely wrong or cringe or whatever. And I don't care about being right or anything, I just want to have fun here and tell my little stories? :( The fear is making me keep the work to myself and I don't know what to do. Would it be better to just enjoy it on my own?

Your blog really is goals when it comes to that, so I'll respect your opinion a lot. Thank you for your time!

If someone cares about you fixating on your fave characters, then they're usually the fucking weirdos in this situation if they dont just block you and move on. I LOVE making shit up about my faves like i have a modern au hc that kakashi and gai are ddr competition rivals and i gave yeehan 7 dogs just for funsies!! we were in the trenches in early overwatch making up our own lore bc there was none and it was so fun

I've always been like that now that i look back bc when i first started uploading my shitty ms paint fanart on deviant art in like 2006(naruto funnily enough we've come full circle) i was still drawing cringey shit /I/ wanted to see. I don't agree with almost all of it today, but i remember the fun i had while making it, and that's really the trick. Drawing what you personally want to see then people can come and go audience wise. If they like it, they like it, if they dont? oh well! There's people who still follow me from when i was 14 and i follow them even tho we're in completely different spaces now.

The fanart part i vibe with personally bc im really bad at coming up with totally original work and premises. i much prefer having pre-established rules and worlds to work with (plus the characters i love getting massacred in the writing i HAVE to save them)

Just existing online will garner you mean comments or asks, and my best advice is its not worth it to take the bait even if its absolutely absurd and wrong, i just block and go now, and im much happier :) this all being, of course, as long as what you're doing isnt harmful, bc even with good intentions, you'll mess up/blunder eventually. If the heat gets too much for you, no one will judge you for withdrawing your art from social media. thats a perfectly safe thing to do to keep it for yourself.

As an adult, shits not that serious im 28 drawing naruto fanart bc it makes me happy after a long day of work, so have fun!! art's supposed to be fun don't let the fear win i love sharing my art with strangers on the internet!! It was rare for InariHimari to be live on a Saturday. When the channel was first created, the creator only streamed on Sundays since that was the only day off she had between her weekday job as a hotel concierge and her Saturday gig as a cabaret club hostess. For five years, she worked herself to the bone and only found solace and relaxation in the low-key ‘studying’ streams she did at first. Even now, barely a month since she officially retired from both jobs and became a full-time streamer, she still didn’t go live on what can arguably be considered the best day of the week to livestream. Weeknights full of games and Sunday study sessions, but nothing on Saturdays.

And yet here was Himari sitting at her gaming setup with her LED fox-eared headphones and streaming for the approximately two hundred people that made up her audience. It was microscopic compared to the Twitch powerhouses advertised on the website’s front page, but Himari didn’t care. This was her crowd, her people, perhaps even her friends. Individuals who took precious time out of their lives to spend up to multiple hours with her just because they found her entertaining. She would forever be grateful to all of them and can only strive to get better at this so that they can be proud of her.

“Alright!” Himari said with a quick clap of her hands. “I want to try a new game to spice things up here. Do you guys have any suggestions?”

Almost instantly, the chat flooded with game suggestions. Himari had to lean in to read each title as it crawled up the screen. A majority of them seemed to be games that have just been released, which meant they would cost a pretty penny.

“Let me rephrase that.” Himari chuckled. “Do you guys have any cheap game suggestions? Not trying to go broke over a game I may or may not like.”

Her clarification made the suggestions slow down (most-likely due to viewers searching for potential titles to fit the criteria) until the chat was back to its low-speed scroll. It wasn’t long until one message from one of the channel moderators caught Himari’s eye:

cosmomemory: You should play Pocket Circuit LIVE! cosmomemory: It’s free and all you need is an online account to play

“’Pocket Circuit LIVE’?” A low whistle followed as she leaned back in her chair. “I remember when those little cars were popular back in the eighties. Damn. Now I feel old.”

The chat erupted in shocked and angry-looking emojis, along with a plethora of messages:

fanguu: EXCUSE ME???? brahkest: ma’am you are FORTY looneyzune: HIMARI FORTY ISNT OLD tabbitha44: i know this woman did not just say she was old baybee_bat: boo kokokub: oh no better get granny hima to a nursing home

Himari couldn’t help but laugh at the response. “Alright, alright. I take it back. It just makes me feel slightly older than I really am.”

brahkest: yeah thats what we thought looneyzune: THIN ICE HIMA! tabbitha44: >:(

Another chuckle escaped the streamer before she finally looked up Pocket Circuit LIVE. It took about twenty minutes in total for her to make a new account and download the game to her computer before finally booting it up.

“Oh wow!” Himari gawked at the vibrant colors of the menu screen. “This is really starting to remind me of the original toys…”

It wasn’t much longer until she was officially starting the game. The tutorial was easy enough to understand, but once she really started getting into the races with other online users, the true complexity made itself known. The embarrassment of losing her first four races on the easiest speed setting had very much sank in by the time Himari looked over at chat.

1000014: oh my aquaortus: oh no hima baybee_bat: you can do this himari! keep going! brahkest: yeeeeeesh looneyzune: :o deerstalker28: regret suggesting this game yet @ cosmomemory ? cosmomemory: @ fanguu haven’t decided yet lol

Himari didn’t have to look at her face-cam to know her face was a sheepish red. You’d think someone who’s been somewhat playing games professionally for five years now would at least figure out how to play a game as simple as Pocket Circuit LIVE, right? This was a game mostly played by kids! How could she of all people not get it?

After a couple more seconds of reading the mix of supportive and teasing messages in the chat, Himari took a deep breath and sat up straight.

“Alright,” She said, giving her face-cam her best confident smile. “I’ll try one more race. If I lose again, we’ll just cut our losses and play something else. Deal?”

Just then, a chime played through her headset’s speakers just as a pop-up message appeared on the screen layover at the same time as an identical message appeared in the chat:

JudgementKazzy has raided you with a party of 243 viewers!

Himari’s somewhat-false confidence melted away as a rush of shock flooded her and her eyes widened at the notification. She sat there frozen for what felt like a while before slowly blinking her eyes.

“That’s not…” Her voice trailed off as she swallowed. “That’s not real, is it?”

Just to be sure, she glanced at the chat.

brahkest: WHAT looneyzune: HYLDJGOFD looneyzune: HI UNCLE KAZ!!!! fanguu: WHAT IS UNCLE KAZ DOING HERE?!?!? cosmomemory: I LOOK AWAY FOR TWO SECONDS AND cosmomemory: UNCLE KAZ SHOWS UP????? aquaortus: lmfao he sensed the pocket circuit baybee_bat: omfg hi new people!!

“Holy shit.” Himari blurted out before holding a hand over her mouth, still very much in shock and/or disbelief as the chat continued to unravel.

fishki_nyama: Good evening, Hima-chan! ;) brahkest: NISHIKI!!! fanguu: HOW THE FRICK IS NISHIKI HERE??? looneyzune: IS THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENING? looneyzune: ARE WE ACTUALLY WITNESSING THIS?? brahkest: APPARENTLY cosmomemory: N I S H I K I ? ? cosmomemory: himari you gotta win now deerstalker28: watch shes gonna win five in a row now that the king of pocket circuit is here aquaortus: @ deerstalker28 lol we can only hope

That was as much of her regulars’ messages Himari could read before the chat got flooded with greetings and emoji spams from the new viewers. She was still barely wrapping her head around the sudden raid from one of her favorite streamers of all time. Was Kazuma Kiryu really watching her stream right now? Did he actually bring his viewers to watch her?

What do you mean he knows she exists?

“Oh, wow.” Himari managed to say before attempting to clear her throat. “Hey there, newcomers. I’m… Geez, this has really took me off guard.” She let out a breathy awkward chuckle. “Erm… Okay so, hi. I’m InariHimari, but you can call me Himari or just Hima. I… damn, this is really throwing me for a loop! I’m honestly speechless, I can barely introduce myself.”

As if on cue, another chime played and Himari looked to see a different pop-up:

JudgementKazzy has donated $10.00!

“What the-“

“I heard you were trying out Pocket Circuit LIVE for the first time.” The automated voice of the Text-To-Speech played out over the stream audio. “My chatroom and I wanted to come and show our support.”

If Himari’s face wasn’t red from the embarrassment of the earlier losses, the fact that her favorite streamer is not only in her audience right now but has also donated ten dollars to show support was more than enough to turn her face as bright red as a tomato. She could only stare wide-eyed at her computer monitor (which was still displaying the post-match summary screen from the race she lost ten minutes ago) while chat continued to go wild over what was unfolding in real time. Thankfully, she was able to snap out of it in time to see a few new messages appear in chat:

JudgementKazzy: In order to win a race, you might want to customize your racer with the best components for the race you plan on doing. JudgementKazzy: Body, wheels, etc. JudgementKazzy: It might not seem like it, but these really do affect the outcome if you are new to the game. JudgementKazzy: As you currently are ;)

Himari would have blushed at the playfulness that last message seemed to imply had her face not already been so flushed already. Instead, she cleared her throat and adjusted her posture for the second time that night.

“Alright, then.” She said, placing her hand on her mouse and clicking off the summary screen to open a new race.

Through the delayed speed of the stream’s chat, Kiryu gave simple and helpful advice as Himari took baby steps in customizing her car. It was ridiculous to an extent, a grown woman playing an online racing game while being instructed by a man the same age as to how to best customize the digital car in order to win the digital race. But who cared? She was having fun and so was her audience! Wasn’t that what streaming was all about?

And besides, if this was the only way for her to interact with her favorite creator, she was gonna do whatever she could to make it last as long as she possibly could.

Sure enough, taking Kiryu’s advice paid off as Himari won the next five consecutive races, earning herself a few gatcha pulls that in turn won her a few rare items that would make her race better in the future.

“Sweet!” Himari pumped her fist in the air. “That was really fun. I can see how people can get real addicted to games like this.” She then turned to look at the chat. “I think now’s a great place to stop for now. Don’t wanna get too lost into it, you know?”

Sure enough, there was a few messages from Kiryu a few moments later:

JudgementKazzy: You did great, Himari. You’re picking up on it really quick. JudgmentKazzy: Hopefully I’ll be able to tune in for your next Pocket Circuit stream?

Himari grinned at Kiryu’s messages. “That… That would be awesome, Kiryu. You’re always welcomed here with me and my chat. Hope you have a great night!”

JudgementKazzy: Same to you! Have a great stream! JudgementKazzy: :)

And with that, Himari logged off of Pocket Circuit LIVE for the night and moved on to play a visual novel another chat member recommended.

But the whole time, she couldn’t get rid of the lingering feeling of butterflies in her stomach.

This is such a gweather win but at what cost. LIKE.... i can see the episode playing out like gwen being gaslit into thinking that this is A Good Idea (its not)

Heather convincing gwen to vote for leshawna because it would look really lame of her if she didnt. it would hint more to the audience that gwen actually cares A Whole Lot about her appearances and how people perceive her (since a lot of people think thats a super thrown on attribute for her to have in all stars) and it would paint gwen as less of a saint

i have a big problem with the way gwen is portrayed to the audience. The writers want her to look like this misunderstood girl so shes painted as this dick in canon but theres nothing about her thats like... even bad until s3 (s2 too with the whole breaking up with trent) but even then gwen was NOT in the wrong for that shit idc.

I think the meanest thing i can recall her doing is calling lindsay an idiot in episode one, when EVERYONE is caught off guard with the state of what wawanakwa is like. Her being in a bad mood is literally the normalest shit that happens in this show im sorry. this show cannot convince me gwen is a bad person, unless it did this. WHICH WOULD BE MILES MORE INTERESTING THAN HOW SHE IS IN CANON. gwen is so fucking BORING DUDE I HATE IT. let this girl be fucked up and insane and EVIL.

If they made gwen stab one of her friends in the back because of her own insecurity it would tackle like the two biggest gripes about the way she is in canon. It would set up her being this insecure freak more (there was also the episode geoff got eliminated. her disliking that geoff wouldnt like her according to her own insecurity but that was also tacked on as fuck) AND it would make her do something actually note worthily bad because of it. she could be actually painted as this underdog in the finale, especially if there were even less people on her side because of that. like seriously. why would half of the people that are on owens team be on owens team besides just being forced on there to make gwen seem like more of a loser. i dont remember owen interacting with majority of them and a lot of them dont seem like the party type. courtney comes to mind but also ezekiel (i guess hes sexist and thats the reasoning i forgot about that) and fuckin idk tyler and harold. AND EVEN THEN....... they didnt know about the party thing. lindsay switched teams when she heard about the party thing. idk maybe im just misremembering about the lack of interactions between characters.

and parallel to the way gwen didnt even vote trent out when he was framed for cheating, leshawna could have seen that heather framed gwen as well. (i think it suits leshawnas character miles better to be forgiving idk. like tda can push this agenda that leshawna is secretly awful but that shit is so unreal to me) gwen could be thinking all day next episode about how bad she feels about voting for leshawna, for letting her insecurities get the better of her, but Gwen and leshawna could make up and be bffs again in the finale. would it be too much to have this thing between both gwent and gweshawna in the same episode? idk maybe. im here to spitball not to be an actual writer (if i were to be an actual writer i would fix gwent from being terribly and awfully executed throughout literally the entire season. pacing issues eaughh.)

this isnt even mentioning how bullshit leshawnas actual canonical elimination is but its talked to death so im not talking about it because i dont really care enough i cant lie.

i hate the writing in tdi so much sometimes actually though. I think if they went this route it would actually be executed shittily bc thats just how it goes in td episodes. like it would be the certifiably worst episode in the entire series barring maybe sundae muddy sundae LOL. au where total drama is good and im not obsessed with the shittiest fucking show on the planet that i actively hate but cant get enough of

We need the WGA

I know that it doesnt really matter for me to say anything since im a small account and usually i dislike reposting stuff like causes on here but to the small amount of people who will see this.

i stand for the strike

i stand for WGA and SAG-AFTRA

i also stand for any other union that might join TAG, DGA, ect.

these people are not just striking for better wages and a steady workplace but theyre also striking for me and all the other young artists that want to enter the entetainment industry

i have dreamed for years to work on a show, maybe even screenwrite on it and those big studios are trying to crush that dream because they cant spare a million to give us.

they cant fathom to noy make more money by stealing faces of workers and reusing writing to feed into AI

What that anonymous rich dude said isnt just because of the strike "The endgame is to allow things to drag on until union members start losing their apartments and losing their houses" thats not the endgame that was the plan all along, to rot out creativity for cheapness and quantity, to only give some barley livable minimum wage so the audience wont notice the soulessness and that they can have someone to show in end-credits so the public wont care, that is until they normalized the extinction of artists and writers

The AMPTP lied when they said they dont stand for the executives statements. Because if they cared they wouldve acknowledged and executed the rights of the people who have been supporting the industry for decades, CENTURIES.

I have plans, improving my portfolio, studying communication design, applying to nickelodeons internship program! And i'll be dammed if my efforts will be classified as obsolete just because some guy doesnt want to give me the proper pay

i will continue to grow my portfolio, to make fan content as all this does not break the strike guidelines luckily and i cannot stop my creativity

I will try not to promote anything from now on, probably will wait a while for movie and show hypes to die down before i post any fan content about them.

sso's candle, and jumping into the ai bubble for publicity and investment

so yasmin told me to write about this bc not everyone might realise it. its a bit of a long topic so prepare. for legal reasons this is all my personal opinion :3

first off - the sso candle doesnt actually have anything to do with ai. i just wanna get that out of the way. i will come back to this later.

the sso candle ai promotional event is 2 things to me. one is, "probably someone at the company knew someone at the other company bc why else would this specific random collab ever happen" (and theyre not even a candle company? its a perfume company?)

but the other thing which is the main thing, is that we've entered the ai boom, or ai economic bubble. before this there was a crypto bubble, there's sort of been a mobile bubble, and we have the old classic dotcom bubble. summary of tech bubble is, a new shiny thing in tech makes ppl go OOOH!! I WILL THROW MY INVESTMENT MONEY AT THAT!! I BETTER HURRY AND NOT MISS THE TRAIN!! IM GOING TO GET FILTHY RICH BY INVESTING IN THE FUTURE!!! and many of these ppl dont actually understand the tech, and can therefore be exploited by startups or new projects targetting these investors, by just saying "we use the shiny thing that is the future and will make people rich".

just like the dotcom and crypto bubbles, everything that has "ai" in it is currently getting lots of attention both from media and from investors. things that are about "ai" are currently like "wow! youre using modern tech and this is the future!" and for all those ppl who dont know that much about ai or tech, or tech ppl who are easily influenced, it makes companies look cool and modern and forward if they include that current shiny thing.

what does sse achieve by making promotional vids and posts about an ai candle? attention from media and potential investors. the playerbase doesnt care. their target audience arent ppl who generally care much about ai, or even support its usage in creative fields.

they also count on that the playerbase wont be mad enough about it bc most players dont rly care or understand. which is prob going to be an accurate prediction. so they dont especially lose on it unless theres a genuine uproar, but even then, theres a lot of space in "genuine uproar" that still results in "no such thing as bad publicity".

so, thats my perspective on why sse did the ai candle thing. publicity for investors and the industry and media. it helps both sse and the little weird "ai" (side eyes) scent company who both get ai bubble points here. its completely unrelated to what players want or care about (and as many have said, players actually do want to buy things from sse - like plushies and other merch).

now to the last point. the candle isn't even ai, and it's really just an ai boom trending word thing for attention.

some ppl on ssoblr dont really understand what ai is or how it works, or how its already been in use for a long time. im not really gonna explain all of that but i do ask you to like... watch a video or read a wikipedia article or something and please educate yourself on what ai is and isnt. anyway,

supposedly this company feeds pictures into whatever ai model theyre supposedly using. the ai supposedly spits out things like "sunshine :) dirt :) chupacabra :)" from the customers phone pics and then actual perfumers mix blends based on what the ai supposedly told them from the pics.

idk if ur catching on here but, there are trained perfumers here who have seen the customers' pics with their own human eyes. they humanly blend scents based on the content of pics theyve humanly seen. (unless all perfumers at the company are also blind and the ai is their only way to find out whats in the pics, and if so, power to them, ofc.) and, at best, an ai has supposedly told them some generic image analysis terms, which are unlikely to be very helpful to the art of scent design.

there is absolutely nothing the supposed ai is actually doing here. theres no reason for it to be here. it contributes nothing to the process. exceeeeeppppttttt..... clicks!!!! articles. videos. wow! crazy ai scents! wow! ai horse candle!! thats crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so future!!!!!!!!!!

the scent company is a classic tech bubble startup (allegedly from my perspective in my opinion). they dont even use ai (allegedly from my perspective in my opinion). they want a quick buck for looking like a modern futuristic business to the FOMO investors who fall for this every single time theres new shiny tech (allegedly from my perspective in my opinion). and sse collabs with them for pretty much the same reason (allegedly from my perspective in my opinion).

one thing ive been struggling with recently with naming ocs is. well its naming ocs LOL i always struggle with that BUT specifically one thing that ive been having trouble with is like. okay. there is a serious problem of people making characters of ethnicities and cultures that they are not a part of and then doing very little research and then naming them something thats like two last names that arent even from the correct countries or like something that literally translates into "dicknballs" or whatever AND THAT IS a real issue like it shows a lack of care or interest in other cultures, a clear disrespect

but also. i want. to name my 10000000 mixed race OCs really fucked up incomprehensible names. because i have an incomprehensible name. and i never know how to do that while making it clear that NO i dont think people from this culture or that culture use names like this THIS OC'S PARENTS were just little weirdos. how do i emphasize this HJKSDFHKDA

like for real this isnt the case all the time, hell, probably not even most of the time, but a lot of the parents of biracial friends of mine happened to also be like, both kind of the black sheep of their own families, so they have black sheep children which then then name bizarre names based off whatever they find on late 90s babynaming websites or books with no regard to anything even if they come from a culture that puts a lot of care into names. and i have a serious sampling bias here but i know this because. thats me LOL

ive always tried to avoid random infodumps in the middle of my sloppily written oc story scripts but maybe i should just do that any time i make a mixed oc with a fucked up name FHKSJDSHFKJD people are pretty uninformed about biracial-ness in general. maybe its okay to have a character teach the audience for a bit <3

I dont care about timothee tom comparisons thats whatever, but defending cherry is wild b/c take away the acting for a sec but from technical / filmmakers perspective, cherry was poorly edited with blatant mistakes, a movie that is visually bland with poor choices in terms of cinematography and choices that make no sense to the plot that ultimately is like take a step back and think of film as more than just actors on screen. Script that is littered with sterotypes. A movie that was supposed to cover a topic like the opiod crisis but never once does anything with it nor has any meaningful conversation about it. The first part talks about the linkage between us imperialism and ptsd only for the russos to completely drop the critique of the us military mid way through the film there is literallly a lack of cohesion of what it wants to say b/c the script is muddled and unfocused. No movie is perfect but if you are not even open to actual critiques of the film is wild, is film that has potential but its poorly constructed with numerous plot holes and under developed themes. Its style over substance in this case style lacked any thematic purpose rather its used to tell the audience " hey look we can make an independent film" and visual style is never justifeid. Acting is subjective but I tend to argue that cherry blurs more into the realm of overacting, a more talented director would tell tom to control and to hold some things rather than go all the way to 100

the last 30 minutes border more on parody rather than being an honest representation of someone who is a addicted to drugs struggling with ptsd and geographical/ socio economic displacement. The best scene was him in the hospital after that it blurs into over the top hyper realism and fouth wall breaking which tom struggles constantly throughout.

Like Im sorry why are unafraid to engage in critique, tom is a great actor but cherry was all over the place in terms of acting. Like whenever someone critques him you and your anons are quick to dismiss it and say can people think for themselves well here you go I thought for myself its so dismissive and condesending when you think people do have opinions.

Timmy tom comaparisons are dumb, they go after different roles, timmy has admittedly has had more critical success but as that anon said he knows what works for him.

You might disagree, but I felt that these shots in particular were quite nice with the lighting (imo). The Cherry and Emily scenes in particular.

Whats ur take on Klemper? Heres mine.

Klemper backstory- Died in the 60′s. A lonely disabled kid(many people headcanon him to be special needs) . His parents were usually busy and none of the other kids ever wanted to play with him because of his disability and social awkwardness, didn’t help that at that time, there was a lot of stigma about those kinds of issues. One Christmas Night, the coldest year it’d ever been, when his folks were out for a party, he watched Frosty The Snowman and got the idea of making his own snowman friend to play with. He went far from his home and the town so the other kids wouldn’t try to destroy his snowman. As he was making his snowman he began to become affected by the cold conditions, to the point he even took off some of his snow clothes to give to the snowman, feeling extremely hot(some people have done this, its called paradoxical undressing I think, when experiencing hypothermia ) . He has absolutely no idea whats happening to him and isnt fully aware of whats going on, but is already quite far from home and still wants to finish his snowman. Before he could give him his hat, he fully succumbed to the cold and died that cold Christmas night. Now as a ghost he haunts, causing huge snow/ice storms, hoping to find a friend to play in the snow with him, forever.

I’m thinking of making Klemper look like a snowman. Figure it fits the snow theme as well as his backstory. I wrote him to have died in the 60’s as thats when the frosty the snowman movie came out.

So, my take on Klemper is that I don't know what to do with him.

Now, I know what I'd want to do with him, just not how.

Like, we all know that Klemper is portrayed in a way that coded him as high support autistic or mentally disabled. And the show uses that to make fun of him. That's bad.

If I were writing a reboot, I would want Klemper to be portrayed very carefully and want the narrative to treat him with empathy and understanding.

So another thing about autistic representation is that when we're not portrayed as emotionless assholes, the other popular portrayal is the savant who is exceptionally skilled in a specific area. An example is the Good Doctor.

Now, savants are fine, but when they're the most prevalent representation that explicitly autistic, it feels like it's saying that we should treat autistic people well because they have a skill that will allow them to contribute to society that will "make up" the cost of dealing with them. (Even though most autistics aren't savants.)

Implying that whether or not a disabled person should get care and the accommodations they need is somehow tied to "whether they can be productive members of society." That's also bad. Disabled people deserve care, accommodations, empathy, and understanding because of their inherent worth as human beings. As people.

So for Klemper, I wouldn't want him to be revealed to be a savant that somehow "makes up" for his difficulty communicating and high support needs. Klemper deserves kindness and love and care because of his inherent worth as a sentient being, not because he can be "useful."

But I don't know how I would write that. He's a ghost that died of hypothermia and his obsession is making friends because he wasn't able to have friends when he was alive. I don't know where to go from there.

Now your take on how he died is just wonderfully and hauntingly tragic. I loved it. I can see it as the cold open for Klemper's first episode. No explanation of how it's related to the show. Just make the audience watch a kid die in part thanks to the neglect and abuse of the people around him. Beautiful.

bro im a german drawn together fan, we have access to all three seasons of the show on youtube and the german fanbase are a bunch of NPCS its so fucking annoying, people literally only watch this show because its edgy, not because of the characters, not even caring about the subject matter of what happens plot wise, the references, nah thats it bro, the comments are “i love it bc its so raw and controvrsial 😂😂😂” low ass standards i tell ya, i hate the comment section its EUGH, otherwise they just talk about how much nostalgia this brings them, thats it, nothing else, only two types of comments, oh also “omg this show was too edgy this is why they stopped producing it, people are sensitive nowadays :(” thats not why they stopped the prodction but ok boomer, do your research ffs

in this show u also kinda have to know a bit about american culture and other stuff, so maybe it CAN be confusing for non americans

im so glad i learned english at this point because the english speaking audience seems to give at least one FUCK, there is actual videos discussing what jokes worked in the show, what happend behind the scenes, criticism etc, thats what i wanna do too, not this crap, im actualy sharing some thoughts here, i mean, nobody has heard of betty boop here, nobody gets what toot is based of, after hearing and understanding why tara strong gave toot this baby voice in the original (because betty has that shtick too) i was never able to go back to the dub i was introduced to first, german toot sounds like a angry old woman

i have seen the movie btw, it was never dubbed here and i ordered the dvd from the UK, the german audience isnt even aware that the movie exists i believe, yes the movie is ass but i still wish they were sorta aware? i dont think anyone even knows that there is a uncut version of the show, i have it on dvd too, but they only dubbed the tv version so its odd how they tried to squeeze in the uncut scenes but some stuff was still left out because it wasnt DUBBED

last thing is that im not obsessed with the edgy jokes or controverse topics, i like the really goofy scenes like where toot pushes clara down the stairs in the m. c escher room, its so stupid but thats my humor LMAO, thats one of many examples, but i also just like the concept alot and the characters as a whole, the only adult cartoon show i sorta care about

First of all, anon, chill and even though, i think i and many people already explained enough (for example; this post) why they think this way but since i am bored, here we go again.

I think at this point in story its not even about my or your thoughts anymore. Its what story and plot showed. I dont know what author needs to show, especially after writing 'my villain academia' and 'war' arc.

Here's the definiton of revolutionary;

Why i think they are revolutionary?

I think this one scene itself shows many things. That Shigaraki is causing a dramatic change that involves politic revolution. In BNHA, a lot of sentences main characters used for theme of story and its purposely written for audience to question this. Story showed many times that hero society has its flaws and heroes are not doing anything about it. And Shigaraki with his tiny group are challenging that mindset. AGAIN, their ways are wrong, obviously cause they are killing people but they are the one who made that dramatic start and Izuku and hero friends will also make it continue, most likely.

Anon, this is not something fans made up. And most 'villain stans' dont even care their fave is revolutionary or activist or not, there are many people who just enjoy characters even they are 'evil'. Character doesnt have to fight or involve with world issues to be loved.

Also, are you new in this blog, anon? Because i already said i am not 'hero' or 'villain' stan because of the definition of 'villain' and 'hero'.

Villain in stories means that someone who opposes heroes or criminal or someone who is actually bad.

But isnt word itself involving a lot of people/characters by its definiton? If 'villain' means criminal, does every person who cause crime is 'bad', even though thats not possible for anyone so are you gonna decide that they are evil or not, depend on the damage of they caused, without ever looking at their past? Because believe or not, accept or not, past matters and affects people. I understand, especially for people who live righteous life, it might realy hard to empathize with others who made mistakes but yknow what? Never say something like 'i would never do this' because you never know what life brings to you.

Also, villains in stories can get redemption which means they wil make effort to change, if villains are just 'bad people in core', then why would they ever change though? Why people in real life even change at first place? If they can change, why they are 'villains at first place? Why someone villains change while other never even consider changing? And why 'change' is meaningfull.

And also the 'hero' word. First of all, heroes in stories might just be called like that cause they are simply main character or they might be actually hero.

But what makes someone hero though? Simply being good person that never make any mistakes? Is it even possible though? Or saving people? Or simply being good person? But what if that person saves people for selfish reasons, like fame or money etc? So to be able to be hero, do you have to be %100 selfless that every time you save someone, you never expect anything in return? Is it even possible thet never thinking yourself? Lets say, its possible, isnt it so bad for person to think about theirselves? Someone who self destrcuts is really doing this for kindness or they cope their trauma? Cant people think about others while also thinking about theirselves?

Do you think that Izuku is so kinder than characters like Ochaco because he was ready to kill himself for others? The factt that he is gonna take things that far, is it really because he is so kind or simply because has NO self worth?

All those hero-villain thing is worth to consider.

Its also ironic that people, especially bnha fans still question this. Like, 'What is the hero?' is one of the main theme in BNHA. It also showed the tiny line between heroes and villains can break for anyone.

Anon, what is a hero or what is villain to you?

'Dumbass fans always fall for every sob story'? Like what?? (Not even mentioning you call Shigaraki who is abuse victim who lost his whole family in front of him at 5, ignored by whole society and groomed to be murderer who life as just ‘crybaby’ lol.) Is feeling sorry for someone's pain 'stupid' and bad thing to you? Do you think people doing horrible things makes them 'less victims' or 'undeserving empathy'? How much do you know about real life victims and their mindset though or did you just met every victim in the world and read their mindset somehow? To be able to seen as 'victims' by you, do they have be completely pure defendless babies, somehow still being strong in any sitution?.....

I know that there are a lot of characters who is presented like this by media but well, thats not how real life works. Victims in real life are more gray than you could ever think, they are not your uwu baby that exist to gain your so precious pity. They are just humans.

One of the reasons i love BNHA is how realisticly written abuse victims are, its feel more realistic and that makes them more human. And the more human character is the more relatable they become for audience.

Not to mention that all those 'heroes' and 'villains' characters are just written by someone (a human being) means it can be bad writing or simply uninteresting for readers which is why writing criticism exists.

There are so many different type of 'hero' and 'vilain' character that you cant even put them all under same title because they are so different. Even though, i understand what you mean, anon about how people fall for every sob story' because someone people just dont or dont like to think that deep. Sometimes, i also feel some backstories are oof because it seems they ae only there to gain sempathy from audience and thats it. I cant talk for everyone's instead but for me, i just look at characters and try to analyze them to understand better or read other people's analysis to see what i might be missing about that character.

I think someone can be both seen as victim who deserves to be healing and criminal who needs to be punished for doing bad things at the same time. And someone making effort for changing always matters and i think thats trying to be best version of yourself is what makes someone 'good person'.

Anyway, i really hope that i am able to explain my thoughts well to readers with this post.

Also, anon, be nice when you ask a question to someone, otherwise, you wont get answers anymore. (I am answering this, again because i am bored and this post is also for other people to read too). And stop calling people as 'dumbass', especialy since they have very good reason to feel for league of villains and many other villains. People like both hero and vilain characters at the same time, depends on how well written they are or how relatable they are for them or even they can only enjoy villain type characters simply maybe its far more entertaining for them which is okay.

i do genuinely think cots is going to be better than ihiap because ive had like two years now to figure out how to interact with fandom and im friends with other writers not and have more of a grasp of my writing style than i did before.

Ihiap

I have a love/hate relationship with ihiap. The characters in it are amazing theyre my favorite people ever. Some might make a cameo in cots, i havent decided yet.

REasons i hate ihiap:

-I accidentally stole half my ocs i talk about this a lot and ive been reassured but im not going to get over it. I hate myself

-Its so badly written like half the time There are some parts that i absolutely love and some that make me want to delete the entire fic. Like ive actually considered it multiple times. I hate it so much, so much second hand embarrassment. Is it second hand embarrassment if I'm the one who wrote it???? -Zuko is so ooc he might as well be an oc

-I dont even know twf azula is doing Azula and Mailee is one of the plot holes that drives me nuts. Because like I wrote Ty Lee into a scene but miss girl is supposed to be in the circus by now. I forgot about that part. Also Theres a certain detail about Azula and MaiLee thats going to be very prevelant near the end of book 3 but i forgot to imply or write that in so thats going to come out of no where. -most major events were impulsive and had no value to the actual plot Examples: That stupid soldier dude, the islands thing. I hate these parts and im going to write them out eventually -PLOT HOLES Reasons why Ihiap is the best piece of literature ever written:

-Relationships and characters

So the thing is despite the fact that theres so many things im bad at doing in writing/havent had enough practice yet, there are things that I know that I am great at writing.

One of these things is delevoping relationships.

I'm really good at making people and relationships very complex and this isnt something that someone can change my mind over, like this is something that i love the way i do it.

This is one of the only redeeming qualities of ihiap.

-I love the plot.

I really want to redo this to do the plot justice because i do think it has potential.

Overall i think that ihiap has more good than bad but the mad really does bother me. If your ever rereading and there seems to be some stuff missing or changed its because im eventually going to go through and edit the shit out of it.

As of now the next chapter (chapter 14) has like 600 words. Chapter 15 has i think 445 and chapter 16 is completely done, chapter 17 had like half a sentence, then were done with twbb.

Chapter 16 is where stuff gets interesting.

Im perfectly aware that TWBB is boring but it was meant to be. I needed it to be for Zuko to not go insane and then also develop Tomnooks relationship (because believe it or not theyre not COMPLETELY self indulgement and they are important) and also Sokka and Katara and Zuko needed that sibling relationship. So i needed like a 17 chapter book in between the two main books for that stuff.

I'm so excited for the next book. Especially like the second half. Its also (most likely) going to be updated a lot more frequently than twbb. Twbb was a pain in the ass because there was very little actual plot and it was just day to day stuff. So i had nothing to go off us.

Like Book 1 was all about the crew and Zuko to kind of learn and build relationships and shit and Book 3 is going to be a lot easier because it has a lot of actual plot and a goal and shit.
