I tried to find favorites other than writing/rwrb since I'm sure most of ya'll know/can guess that much about me (then spent way too long trying to make this pretty lmao)

Animal: A pair of cardinals made their nest right outside of my house and it's been a lot of fun trying to spot them when I hear their distinctive cheeps

Movie TV Show: Cheating here and giving my favorite TV show instead because I don't really have a stand out favorite movie atm. Fun fact, my upcoming story reincarnation college au is based on this Thai drama until we meet again because if there is one thing I'll do it's put firstprince into my favorite situations ;)

Season: Fall by far — love the leaves, all the activities, and the weather (when it's actually nice and not just extended summer or early winter)

Character: Tough choice but I had to go with Hua Cheng from tgcf (heaven official's blessing) because I have been kind of obsessed with this man since reading the series.

Color: love my deep reds

Hobby: I don't talk about it a lot on here but I love dancing, mostly hip hop and kpop choreographies. If you recognize the studio from the picture, feel free to message me and we can gush about our favs together

Book: Noteworthy is my second favorite book after rwrb and imo has a very similar brand of humor and explorations of identity. Highly recommend if you love sarcastic bisexuals of color

henlo!! i’m still setting up this blog but atm i’m really looking for plots for a specific oc i’m dying to write. looking for romantic as well as platonic plots, preferrably on discord. i have loots of muse so if you’re willing to give him a chance be prepared for enthusiastic plotting & headcanons (heads up, i usually keep my muses private but this is an exception!)

about the oc! his name is dew thanayut, he’s a jeff satur faceclaim. around 28 yo. bisexual. a thai singer-songwriter, something of a rising star. independent artist, also ex-kpop idol who left the industry very traumatized, but has healed a lot since then. a history major in his spare time as well. very passionate about music. a hardworker, cat dad, outgoing introvert, hopeless romantic but kinda slow to fall in love & to actually open up to people in general. his full bio can be found right here (beware that the docs is kinda graphic heavy, but please check out at least the trigger warning session!)

i’m leaving a few plot ideas down below, but i’m open to pretty much anything, so feel free to bring me any beloved muse you wanna write or think would fit. however, muse has to be 24+ for romantic plots. my rules are on this blog’s pinned. if you’re interest, like this or just hit me up!

any connection that is professional at first, that being how they grow closer; can be another artist collabing with him (on a song or cover, on a photoshoot, even a mv cameo), a photographer, a producer, a stylist, etc. maybe they just play or used to play at the same bar;

good old “celebrity” romance! maybe they meet through a collab, or at an event, or through a mutual friend, or because your muse is an actor & dew is working on the ost for their new series. cue dating rumors (whether or not they’re really dating at the time), maybe some angst with bitter people online speculating it’s a pr relationship or dew is trying to take advantage of your muse’s fame, etc;

good old idol&celeb plot, whether platonic or romantic. dew’s always tried to connect with fans, and when he was beginning his solo career this was particularly easier since the fanbase was so small he could memorize names, faces,  personalities, etc. maybe muse can be a fan since then and they’ve met dew a few times, or they’re new to the fandom, or they were a fan of his ex-band that dew still recognized years afterwards and they’ve become friends since meeting again. many possibilities actually.

his first girlfriend! the one who was an idol in the same company as him. they did have a very loving and supportive relationship, but they lost touch after breaking up since they were living in different countries. dew just worries for her and wishes he’d manage to hear of her. can be romantic or platonic honestly, i’d love this muse, but please mind the triggers in their backstory.

any of his ex-bandmates (please mind the triggers in their backstory!), or anyone dew’s met while still in seoul and hasn’t seen in a while;

this plot;

friends in general, or childhood friends, or collegemates, or neighbours, or people with a shared history. even family (can be distant family). ordinary slice of life-ish plots are more than welcome. single parents muses are welcome too, just saying.

I try my best not to have any celebrity crushes but I've been so bitchless recently that when I got into Ateez I was immediately floored by San 😭😭 so uh yeah that's the only one rn LMIUSFDHDFI

I usually tend to start the story with plot. Through that, my characters blossom; I usually look for a personality I want to embody, and also a character I haven't seen too often. For example, I haven't really seen any Nepali characters in IF, so I'm making a nepalese RO in Witness in Plain Sight. The ethnicities of my characters are often from the ethnicities of my friends who find they don't have any characters they can relate to in media, so the appearance of my character is the third/second thing I think about.

I outline first, but I pants through it!

Oh boy... my favorite boy groups are seventeen, ateez & BTOB, and my favorite girl groups are twice, stayc and ive!! I'm also getting into CNBLUE right now. My fav soloist is Sunmi.

My music taste is a little bit of anything and everything. I love music in different languages (korean, spanish, french, chinese, japanese, urdu, and hindi, lots of bollywood music in general). I think N would like a lot of vocaloid & hyperpop music, while Oli is more interested in alt music, just a lot of music with guitar. Hannie likes classical music, lofi, just anything they can listen to in the background without too many lyrics. When learning a new language, they like to listen to music in that language, too.

I'm kind of experimenting with mine!! If I had a lil more money, I would love to dress fancy and old-timey. (Like the pic, and a bunch of art on pinterest which I can't find the cred for!) 7. HMMM... okay something that I REALLY want to see is the great historian 'they were just friends'. I want two ladies to fall in love in medieval times. I would also LOVE something like melvina's therapy, a bunch of short stories that tie into eachother! 8. Definitely do your research!! Not only will it be great for when you decide to go through with your project, but you'll have a community that can help you, inspire you, and that you can talk to when you have difficulty!! I don't wanna give away too much, but I'll give away a little! Yk how much I love killing off parents in IFs... this IF is an adaptation of the first novel I ever wrote!! It's about magic weilding pirates, set in the Victorian Times! I know it sounds goofy so I'm gonna leave it right there IUDHFSIUDSF 10. A nightmare. I love all of them, don't get me wrong, but I'm a colossal dumbass. I'm really happy I get to do what I love, tho, and I love being able to write!!! Music Monday #230: xikers - Tricky House release: March 2023 genre: Kpop cw: a lot of bright flashing lights, magic and mayhem

Are there more recent releases I could be featuring? Of course, but it's Halloween Eve and who doesn't love a good themed release! XD Between the Western tradition of Halloween being a night for mischief and the Korean tradition of dokaebbi as mischievous spirits, how could I resist?

What are dokaebbi, you ask? Despite a convention of translating the word into English as "goblins," it would be more accurate to call them trickster spirits similar to the Japanese class of youkai known as tsukumogami, or objects which have grown into spiritual entities through age and use, something we don't really have an easy analog for here in the English-speaking West. Between the inaccuracy of the comparison and the tendency for "goblin" to come pre-loaded with antisemitic baggage, this is one of those instances where trying to translate a term is counterproductive, so dokaebbi it is.

Musically, "Tricky House" is an up-tempo dance track with several playful rap breaks and a range meant to really show off the members' abilities. It starts off high energy and never backs down, having both familiar Edenary fingerprints and a sound that's uniquely xikers. For those with a musical ear, you can hear the way this is a cousin to their pirate seniors ATEEZ while still being distinct. It may be a little jarring on first listen, but on the other hand that slightly unsettling reedy instrument in the background feels like an ideal fit for a song about dokkaebi playing games.

The video is full of bright flashing light effects and shot through with the xikers' lore of, if that ending shot is to be believed, the antics of ten brooms that have come alive as dokkaebi. The majority of the runtime involves the ten of them playing games with a hapless solo traveling businessman, casting enchantments and talking him into doing things he probably wouldn't have if left alone. How much is real and how much is just dokkaebi illusion? It's hard to say; the line translated into English as "if the bat hits, what will it become" is actually talking about the dokkaebi's bangmangi, which might be better translated as magic wand or focus (despite sometimes being depicted as a type of warrior's club) and the tool through which dokkaebbi do their magic. Certainly our hapless businessman gets from the subway to an empty parking lot somehow, but whether he really knocked over an ATM or had a joyride in a Ferrari is debatable. Maybe he did, but for his sake, let's hope he didn't.

Stage versions of Tricky House (such as this dance practice for KCON 2023 Thailand) further prove this is a dance number for the young - even at just a little over three minutes, the energy needed to keep moving the way they do is no small amount. Still moving even when ostensibly standing still, the rolling inversion move that is the signature move for this song is tricky enough with just a couple dancers, never mind a full team of ten. One suspects there were several accidents during the learning phase.

Both their debut EP, House of Tricky: Doorbell Ringing, and their recent comeback, House of Tricky: How to Play, are out now for purchase or streaming, wherever you prefer to do these things. They are also currently in LA to wrap up their US tour with shows in Los Angeles on Wednesday and San Francisco on Saturday!
