#2023 is the year that I get my finances and my financial trauma sorted out #because it’s either this or it kills me and I’m all done leaving myself open to being killed #have to do a lot of hard work realizing how bad the money stuff was re: hours per week of being trapped in the kitchen with 1-2 people #damning me if I did and damning me if I didn’t #and one of them constantly watching my bank account because they had access till I was 25 #and all the fear they put in me and how they trained me to sabotage myself for them #NO MORE #it is not as scary to just face the hellish nightmare zone of loans and debts and not enough money for butter or dog food or whatever #than it is to not face it and live in guiltridden fear all the time #at least with the first option I have itemized spreadsheets I can take to debtors and a bankruptcy attorney if needed #I’d love to find a second job again but it’s been pretty hard #but regardless #no more avoidance NO MORE AVOIDANCE avoidance and shame don’t get me anywhere #the only thing that will is holding hands with the shame and the terror #and if all goes well #maybe I’ll be able to finally get my root canal and other cavities done 2 years late #and also rebuild some savings #mostly just I gotta do this or I’m going to give myself high blood pressure and an ulcer by the end of the year I cannot handle a mother #year of looming financial threat #it’s getting sorted out this year or not at all #and I’m all out of accepting ‘not at all’s #shh katie

I haven't gotten very far in Starfield yet but looking back it's kinda hilarious that I basically went to the character creator and I guess subconsciously decided "I'm gonna make her the exact opposite of my CP2077 character" right down to them having the exact opposite hair color.

#Starfield #I went Cyber Runner; Neo Street Rat - Wanted - Taskmaster for my build so.......yeah #My roommate even called me out saying that I only picked Cyber Runner because it had 'Cyber' in the name which is.....partially true?#Honestly I wanted to play a space rogue/their and that's the best starting build for one #Anyway yeah I'm still deciding on the name but I think it's Ji-Yeon 'Lee' Aster -- Lee being the pseudonym she gives to most everyone #Korean mother German-American father #Her parents both die when she was young so she grew up in Neon scavenging tech equipment to sell for pittance #and eventually grew into a pretty decent hacker who was able to get by on Neon with minor jobs and the occasional corporate freelance gig #When she's 25 she goes in with a few friends on a huge homebrewed hacker job and the whole thing goes to shit. Like absolutely falls apart #In a moment of weakness Lee throws everyone else on her team under the bus and bails-- everyone else gets arrested and thrown in corp priso #So with a big bounty on her head she hops from system to system trying to keep a low profile until she lands the Argos job and plot happens #In terms of comparing her to Riley she's WAY smarter WAY more cynical WAY less athletic and WAY more guiltridden about her life #And while Riley's slower to trust but overall still nice at her core Lee is just a dick. The entire plot is just one big inconvenience #And to her working with Constellation is basically another way for her to hide from her massive bounty #She trusts them but DEFINITELY looks to use them in the beginning as...let's face it basically meat shields #Riley's story is more about learning how to trust people and accept change;#Lee's story is more about the importance of family and learning how to be less selfish #And finally-- Riley has blue hair and Lee has orange-red hair (her hacker alias was 'F1r3br4nd' and she never wanted to change it)#ANYWAY dump time over back to work #Seta Speaks

As with all my sculpture bases, the shapes are very simplified. The head for this new piece is quite sleek looking at the moment, but when finished the skin will be all droopy and rippled. My little Affenpinscher, who has been patiently waiting for his fur, decided to sneak in the photo. I think he is feeling a little left out. I've been doing a lot of thinking...and I feel like I need to scream this out somehow even though I'm sure it's been talked about before (and I'm putting it under a readmore because it gets long).

No matter what, in any playthrough you do and any timeline you create.

UNDERTALE is a game about guilt.

You have Toriel, so guiltridden she couldn't protect her own children that she devotes herself to never letting another child leave again. And then they do!! over and over again, that guilt compounds until it's the center of her life and every choice she makes!!

And obviously Asgore, so guiltridden that he couldn't protect his own children from humans that he spends the rest of his days trying to get out and get revenge on them--as if that will stop the voices in his head saying, if you had been out there with them you could have stopped it, you could have stopped those humans from killing your children, and maybe he could have!! Or maybe not!! He'll never know and it eats him from the inside out!

Alphys, oh my sweet summer child this fandom does not deserve you!! Alphys, so guiltridden from her own perceived failures as a scientist that she began to try anything, anything to make the King happy, and it seemed to be working at first, and then it was so everlastingly worse, how can you cause something worse than death?? without even trying??

And it shows up in little ways, silly ways, too! Ways you wouldn't even think about as guilt! Undyne! She feels guilty that she won't let Papyrus join the Royal Guard so she gives him cooking lessons instead! Papyrus feels guilty that he's not in love with you after one date so he'll "keep being your cool friend and act like this never happened!"

SANS MY BOI don't even get me started. His guilt isn't as physically obvious but he made a promise to toriel, he promised her he would keep the human safe, and in timelines where you save everyone he follows you pretty much all throughout the Underground (even if he doesn't do anything to help smh) because he'd feel guilty not doing it, and in timelines where you kill everyone he feels guilty for not stopping you, AND in those SAME timelines he feels guilty for stopping you because it means he's breaking his promise to Toriel to keep you safe I!!! This boy can fit so much cosmic guilt in him!!!!

Asriel! FLOWEY!! Do you ever wonder if he feels guilty about being the one to wake up again? The one to survive, when Chara had to die twice?? He sits at their grave and he will do anything, anything to drown out those thoughts so he befriends and kills and torments and it's all the same and it's all useless!!

And their guilt compounds each others'! Toriel makes Sans make that promise because of her own guilt, which increases his! Asgore's guilt is what pushes Alphys so far past the limits of ethical science, because he increases hers!

And all of this, all of this, ALL OF THIS pales in comparison to you!!!

You!! The player! You return to the Underground after maybe accidentally killing Toriel or a few others because you didn't know, you never wanted to hurt them!! You listen to Flowey and you come back and you save them all!

You! The player!!! You cry at the ending and you'd feel guilty, so guilty about letting them all go, wouldn't you? So you ignore Flowey's pleas to let it alone, and you come back again, you say hello to your dear friends but this time it isn't the same, this time you kill them all because you want to see everything this game has to offer, might as well get your money's worth, the fights are cool, right?? And then you get hit with the most unsatisfying atomic bomb of an ending and the only thing left is your own reflection staring back at you from the black screen of your computer as the horror dawns, what have you done???

YOU!!! The player! You go back again even though there is no Flowey left to tell you to, and you save them all again because I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry, nobody deserves what I did to all of you, and it's all good, nobody remembers, and then you get to the end. The game knows what you did!!! It never forgot, and it'll make certain you never forget either!! Guilt!! Guilt, guilt!!! It's baked into the code of this game!!

Anyways tl;dr, maybe it actually did make sense to give this game to the pope

i feel invisible and i am sick of people not seeing me as a person i am sick of the frightened and averted gaze of people who think im a strange looking girl until i start talking and then ignore me throughout our entire coerced social interaction because they are afraid or disgusted or confused or god forbid embarrassed and guiltridden not of me or for my sake but of and serving whatever stupid pathological bullshit they're going through that i just happen to represent. i am sick of people talking to me like im a child and people telling me i look too young to be my age because the only instances people experience androgyny and don't question it is when they look at children. im sick of doctors treating me like a fucking criminal because to them i seem flighty and uncommitted for not being gender conforming enough to justify being trans to them. i am sick of worrying about what i look like outside of myself constantly and i think the hypervigilance and the loneliness is going to kill me and i hope everyone else is dying of this same stupid disease that they're trying to stave off by putting the blame of its existence onto me and my friends too. fuck you. maybe it'll get to me first but it will kill you too and im watching it happen i know it will you either embrace your own capacity to be us and recognize us or you'll react and repress yourself into nothingness

Clover:

(Neutral/Pacifist route)

They/ Them (the Fandom would murder me otherwise)

Age - 12ish

Clover fell down into Mt. Ebbot to find the other Humans, NOT EXPECTING TO MEET THEIR GHOSTS.

Now having to search across the Underground to find their SOULs, Clover has to make sure everyone's happy & generally OK so once they reach the surface... They'll be sure that the ghosts can truly rest in peace.

Clover is admittedly a little silly despite trying to be a cool cowboy. Falling over from time to time, not having the best aim... Needless to say, Flowey's had to RELOAD quite a bit.

And by a bit, I mean a lot.

Patience:

She/They/Its

Age Upon Death - 9

Wanders the Dark Ruins looking for their big brother (Bravery), commonly following random monsters & watching them out of pure boredom.

They commonly lose their plush, "Bunnie", around the Ruins, as while they can manage to hold it... It still falls out of their grasp when they aren't paying attention. Don't worry, Clover helps them find it again!

Age Upon Death - 15

Guiltridden after causing the deaths of himself & his little sister's (Patience), Bravery's soul is buried in Snowdin's thick icy snow. Barely out of reach from reuniting with his sibling.

Clover & Patience come across Bravery's ghost, said ghost immediately rushing toward them upon sewing Patience. Hugging her tightly. He tries his best to guide Clover while also taking care of & diverting most of his attention toward his sister.

But could you BLAME him he missed her SO MUCH.

Perseverance:

They/Its

Age Upon Death - 14

Perseverance is very unhappy about the circumstances of their death, & complains about everything in the Underground because of it. They'd rather just study all the flora & fauna while being left completely alone. Regardless, the other Humans still talk to Perseverance for company despite them being antisocial. Except for Integrity, who also likes to be left alone. They tolerate Integrity because of this.

Perseverance's soul is found by a monster trying to get it to Asgore or a Royal Guard member early on in the dunes. Luckily, Clover stops them &... Perseverance just complains that they could've handled it & didn't need some "cosplayer'''s help. Yeah, sure, keep telling yourself that.

Kindness:

All/Any Pronouns

Age Upon Death - 14

Kindness befriended quite a few monsters during their time in the Underground. One of them, Kindness's closest friend, managed to keep his soul safe from getting nabbed by royal guards. So Kindness keeps close by their house, using her ability to only really pick up cooking utensils to help her friend out. It also likes to wander around finding new ingredients & such. He commonly likes to ask Perseverance for their notes on plants & spices even if they can be a bit difficult sometimes.

Clover & company find Kindness in the Wild East's Saloon, hanging out with her best friend as she inspects a Feisty Slider. Then spotting Clover being dragged in by Ed & Starlo, & watching the chaos unfold. Yes, they were sad that the had to say goodbye to their friend, but it was for the greater good.

Integrity:

She/They

Age Upon Death - 16

We all know what happened to Integrity, right? Killed some monsters. Killed by Axis. Soul was used by Chujin for experiments. Well, Integrity's soul has been stuck in the basement for... A while. Hidden away by Ceroba so she wasn't reminded of her grave mistake.

However, her soul is able to wander quite a bit away, all the way to Steamworks & back because of her... High LOVE...

It's also because of this that she has more of a presence to Monsters, Maybe a figure flickering in & out of existence, or scattered footsteps in the sand. The other souls are... Also a tiny but wary of her because of this. She's silent & scary. : (

Clover encounters Integrity throughout their journey, but Integrity only really starts to stick around in the Steamworks. But... From a distance. Depending on the route, either because of Ceroba or Flowey.
