So I got rid of the champion liquidated stuff (RIP liquidation coworker... theres so much shit backed up waiting for her to end her vacation 😢)
And I went through the stupid go backs CARTS PLURAL and pulled the liquidated shit from there
And FINALLY got rid of this stupid ass box my lovely coworkers made in DECEMBER titled "MISC. NEED TO DO" and promptly forgot ab bc they all have undiagnosed adult ADHD (: it's so fun
Anyway in there was shit that was in packages that were missing pieces, stuff that needed to be liquidated but they couldn't be bothered to take to the back, and most of it is getting damaged out so that's fun :]
Anyway I know there will be another cart by the end of the week but I got this done and I'm proud

rich people pressure lower income residents out of communities and then act astonished when there's no one around to be their baristas or grocery store cashiers or waiters
Janet you either need to get over yourself and apply to that coffee shop that has two overworked employees including the owner or you need to make space for young adults and families. and renting out your 144 sq ft "eco house" (read: uninsulated shack that you slapped a solar panel on) with no running water for $2000 a month (only available 6 months out of the year) is not a solution

having consumed more hornblower content in the last month than i care to admit, my general sense is that neither the books or the miniseries are exceptional about writing women, but that the miniseries does the unfortunate crime of inventing new women of nigh whole cloth who fucking suck

I get both sides, but I feel a little confused they couldn't find four people in their +25 employees
Data analyst (Are you seriously telling me you couldn't personally email or even just HIRE matpat's team who do data analytics as part of Theorist Media to help??? The man would be overjoyed to help???)
Editor (Put the first $6 towards a can of coffee grounds, dude)
PR Team (Even, like, a single person, please, for the love of god)
Business Major (Or literally anyone that has taken a home ec/budgeting/personal finance class)
First, the Dish Granted series was started when gold leaf burgers were novel, now it's seen as tone deaf (for obvious reasons) it should have shifted to something like interviews with people who make that kind of food or local businesses (like parmesan cheese shops in Parma, Italy) or the history of food (like talking about the history of modern Native American slavery on Californian wine vinyards). Not to mention the untapped potential of Food Fraud topics. Either shift it, or scrap it. Any data analyst or chronically online person could tell you that.
Second, why did you keep "anyone can afford $6 a month" in? Are the editors asleep at the wheel? Are they overworked? What is going on? You know damn well to not make generalizations about what people can afford. That's NEVER a good idea, especially when you KNOW (because YT gives you analytics) that most of your viewers are young (16/18-30/35 range, I'd guess) who probably, either 1, are still in school and either arent paid well/dont have jobs OR 2, arent paid well and tired of people's shit, like people who own businesses talking about "tough financial decisions." To them, Watcher isn't going to look different from the other people talking like that, because this was so sudden, with no input from fans, and in the video you hear shit like "anyone can afford [X]." To be frank, it wouldn't really matter what the amount is, because that generalization goes against the message they have stood by for years. THAT is a slap in the face.
Third, what are yall doing with the budgeting? Every artist has a right to make art that they are proud of. Every artist deserves to have their work seen if they so choose. Every artist deserves to make a living. HOWEVER, there are MANY options online when it comes to making money, especially on YT. You could get into marketing, data analysis, expanding your demographic, looking at what people are interested in right now VS what will stand the test of time (not gold leaf burgers), etc.
You have to either have these skills, develop these skills, or hire someone to do it for you. It's understandable that you would want a team behind the production, but I find +25 employees to be WAY too many people, especially in LA. Bailey Sarian has a Dark History section on her YT (and Spotify podcast) where she has hired historians to help make sure her episodes are as accurate as possible. You've caught heat before from Puppet History's missing & incorrect info, you should do the same. She has about three (3) "intermissions" per episode for ad breaks. I never see anyone complain. People WOULD listen to yall talk for that long (+1 hour videos), tbh, though that's not necessary.
Why are yall out here with Teslas, expensive food, new gear, scripts (where there weren't scripts before, PH is different, that makes sense), and "better than TV" level sets??? I need to put your accountant in this week's church prayer list what the actual hell??? Ya'll, this video is literally the meme:
Guys help me budget:
LA Rent: 2K per month
Videos: 100K per vid
+25 Employees: God only knows
New stuff for videos: Don't get me started
Like, are you serious?
You have a right to do whatever you want with your art. You have a right to charge whatever you'd like for that art. You have a right to make a living from your art and you have a right to ask your fans for money.
Your fans have a right to be angry when they've been supporting yall for, what, almost 10 years? They have a right to choose when and where to spend their money even when you've made an impact. They have a right to feel betrayed, especially when there are better options (like Nebula or consulting with Theorist Media).
Fans DO NOT have a right to be racist to any members of Watcher, now that they have made a decision they do not agree with.
I personally, think this is a really silly decision and could have been solved (haha solved) with a simple YT poll, but apparently we had to get... this. I respect their decision, I just don't think it was a smart one. I wish them the best, and I hope they find a better solution. Any further comment from me will depend on what steps they take next.

Miguel O’hara x reader|| roomates (pt 1??)
Authors note: wrote this after an experience i had with an ai bot- so yeah its a little stupid but i find it funny
No use of y/n ; you dont know that he is spiderman ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ; fem written in mind but ig it could be whoever? (I think?); NOT proofread.
Mdni
———————-
Miguel o’hara. He is Your roomate and one hell of a man. You guys had been living together for about two years now after you couldnt fully afford an appartment on your own and decided to share one with somebody. And god was it interesting
You were sitting on your bed, laptop open and reading, when Miguel walks to your room and leans on your doorframe. Oh no, not just against your doorframe, but against it, with only shorts on, and wet hair.
“Hey, can I ask you a favor?” He says scratching the back of his head, running his hands through his damp hair.
You look up at him and right back down to your screen to avoid eye-contact. Its like he does this on purpous, its like he sees your face, sees the blush. You almost want to ignore him so a stutter wouldnt fall from your mouth, but you can just ignore him.
“Uhm- yeah, what can i do?” You ask back still wildly embarassed. Its a common occurrence, so you arent sure why it effects you so much.
Wait- wait no. You know exactly why. Its because you are head over heels with him.
Sure you have some other celebrity crushes but him? He beats all of them.
“Could i have one of my shirts back, i let you borrow some and i need to do laundry today-“ he responds.
Oh. Was that it?
“Uh yeah let me get you one really quick” you say standing up and walking to your closet. Before you can grab a shirt for him he makes his way over to your bed and sits down.
“What were you watching?” He asks referencing your laptop as he picks it up.
Okay its time to panic. The thing you were reading? Spiderman fanfiction. He was one of your celebrity crushes and you couldnt let Miguel know, he would tease you for the rest of your life, and not only did you read that stuff? You wrote it.
You drop the shirt and run back reaching fir the lap top, climbing on top of him as he pulls it away from you further. Panicked you reach for it as far as you can, going as far as clawing at him to get it back.
“Whoah whoah whats in here that i cant see?” He teases
“Miguel please dont! Thats uh- just a book!” You reply back still fighting to get that laptop back.
“Well with how you are reacting it isnt just some book hmm?” He laughs back. You can see his eyes scanning the digital characters, word by word his face grows redder. You still attempt to reach for it but it was just too late.
“Tsk- spiderman huh? You like him?” He says smirking. He had to be teasing you right? You swear normally he would have taken a picture of it and show it to you every now and again in the future to embarass you. But he is being so nonchalant.
“D-dont read farther-!“ you warn him. You recognize the page number, as this was one of your works, and ahead was some of the most mind corrupting media you have ever produced.
You see his eyes scan the pages as you lie helpless, still sitting on his lap, Avoiding eye contact with the brown-haired male. He chuckles as his face grows a deeper red. As he reads on the story seems a bit too familiar. The roomate of the ‘reader’ is actually spiderman, they fall in love and have fun. The roomate. Could it be him? Of course its him, you indulge in your deepest fantasies when you read and write.
“Wow- this is some good writing, too bad you dont have a spiderman roomate” he says winking at you. Wait- winking-
“H-huh?” You exclaim
“Oh come on, its obvious who this ‘tall, dark haired, spanish speaker roomate’ is” he says giving you a smirk. He leans in to where you are sitting on his lap and brushes his lips against yours.
“And i could help you re-create this book. Scene. By. Scene” he chuckles darkly.
Thats it- your brain dosnt work anynore. The way his voice darkened and he leaned in made you lose it. You leaned in to close the small soace between you- you finally kissed him. And he kissed back, hard. There was only one way that this could go any better, and that would be if he was spider man… but thats just wishful thinking. Plus. You had a long night ahead.

you are so cool and non judgemental to chat with, so thanks very much once again! yeah I think the whole hysteria abojt idols fs in away its intruiging from a non obsessive point of view but for those who do obsess about idols fs are going to be in for a shock whenber idols are revealed to be dating and shock horror, its not themselves.
honestly I regret not really going for it and learning a genuine skill that I could then use later on but sometimes its just matter of having opportunities or being in the right situations to actually gain those skills, for example you could go to a really shitty school and learn something amazing or you can go to a better school but have shitty classmates or teachers that are of no real use to you or courses that arent available and so on and so forth, whilst idols have to go through a lot I do think what they get to do is super cool cause when they pass on they have a legacy to be proud of. Sadly I think it just comes down to them being in the right areas or theyre from the right families who can invest so much into idols gaining their skills and talents. I have yet to really see someone from my country denut in kpop group sooooo it kind of says a lot of where kpop is heading and that they were going to smerica come what may. its just sometimes our situations are very limiting and we cant always win at everything in life either or say you might want to do something but realistically you know its slim to none chances and i think at some point it has an age limit of when you can succeed at it. So even if i wanted to do what i originslly wanted it would take many more years just to get to a good skill and even then you might not be the best at it
I also think sometimes social media makes things neither great nor bad cause people can upload their skills and really empahsis on what they want nowadahs whereas when I was a kid we were doing fuck all with our free time yaknow? kids nowadays shouldnt waste their younger years is what im saying. sometimes i think that i dont fit in with my generation cause of how screen obsessed we all have become and then i dont fit in with newer generations cause they have so many more ways of making success for themselves, im just like what can i offer? honestly not much.
thats also why i lowkey wouldnt mind passing on early just to get out of this screen world that we are in and yet older generations were never bothered with taking selfies then they wouldnt habe been able to get social validation via online, so they were probs happier and things were at least affordable back then. i kinda envy the older generations in that respect, we only got to experience a small handful of years without the pressures of social media and ever since idfk 00s or earlier it kinda went to shit really.
everyone was expected to be online and idk how i really feel about it anymore im sort of over it and modern society generally sucks. so many idols get backlash for no good reason, youtubers who dont do anything wrong get gossiped about and snark pages are endless so even if someone wants to do something amazing with their lives they cant avoid scrutiny of any sorts. its just got way out of hand and its past the point of saying well just dont use it then cause we technically need these devices constantly so ergo its not hard to not be delulu about celebs and the likes either cause its literally everywhere.
Sorry for the late response, been caught up in some important stuff recently (it's not bad stuff LMAO)!! Anyways, thank you so much! I try my best to remain open-minded of any/all perspectives before forming an opinion of my own and even so, I'm very open to hearing others opinions on these matters. Debating issues is something I genuinely enjoy, as long as it is a polite and healthy debate ofc. It is quite interesting, I'd say it has something to do with the "loneliness epidemic" (as I like to call it) of these times. We're in a time where technology is increasing rapidly and human interaction isn't as common, we're more attached to our screens than actual people and that becomes an issue when it places you out of touch with reality! The obsessions over being an FS and whatnot is genuinely awful, like fans hating on idols and their relationships have led to some couples even splitting; look at Lee Jae Wook and Karina from Aespa as our most recent example. It's never too late to try, really. You can learn any skill no matter your age as long as you can put enough effort in, remain disciplined and dedicate time to it! I think your point there is quite valid, but since technology has advanced so rapidly, you can realistically learn most skills online now by a few quick google searches, taking notes, learning and applying them practically. I think it is quite cool how idols have a legacy that'll be remembered for a while. It's something I'd want to achieve before passing on, as even though making an impact, being remembered, etc isn't a neccessity it does in a way lessen the anxiety about passing on? It makes you feel like there is a chance that people will still mention you, bring you up, that what you did could be studied or researched by other people, that your story could motivate others into getting their shit together, etc. A lot of idols aren't in the right areas or families, though. I'll use BTS as an example here; some members had extremely poor families and were from a run-down agency that could never compete with the big 3. Look at where they are now? They single-handedly built up their label, going from Bighit to HYBE. Practice makes perfect, the more you practice, the more work you put in, the better you will get at that skill! Obviously, blind optimism isn't helpful but if you take the realistic steps in place to where you want to be in the next few years now; it will happen and you will succeed. I completely agree that we, as a society, have all become too screen obsessed and I'm also guilty of this, but it is an issue. It's caused a lot of parents to just let the screen teach their kids, too. I'm sure you have a lot to offer to the world, even if you might not think so. You can do it, though! I believe in you and I'm proud of what you have done so far :] !! I had a discussion with a friend about a similar topic to this, but a lot of trends now are fueled by "nostalgia" where things looked happier and less daunting to live in. I think after 2015 is when things started to spiral, but that's my personal take. You're more than free to disagree with anything I've said!! I don't think you should force yourself to be online, stick to the trends, etc. Do what makes you happy and you'll see yourself shine brilliantly! And yeah, a lot of delusional ideals are fueled by big companies nowadays, too, since fans will obviously put more money into those celebs if they feel like they might get "noticed" - which could also be why concert tickets are getting higher and higher even for newly debuted groups. That's my take on all this, though, feel free to respond and add on, agree, disagree, etc! <33

bottom of the barrel isekai review #3
Tumblr media
Todays review: Choose your heros carefully
two BLs in a row... i would make a gay joke at my own expense but i'll be real, gay trash is soooo much more palatable as a whole then straight trash and i'm confident enough in whatever nebulous concept i've adopted as my sexuality to say that with something resembling pride.
so what's on the chopping block? utterly psychotic middle aged men reincarnated in a world ripe for their exploitation? perhaps a swarm of hyper busty vixens parading about on the strings of someone who has no idea how to utilize them? a magic system based on some mmo where its way to clear the author was bullied in or vaguely believed a certain class should be the strongest?
SUPRISIE! WE ARENT EVEN LOOKING AT TRASH TODAY YOU UTTER HEATHENS, WE ARE LOOKING AT SOMETHING VAGUELY COOL, I FUCKING TRICKED YOU, WE AREN'T AT THE DUMPSTERS WE ARE AT THE FARMERS MARKET AND WERE HITTING THE ANTIQUE STORE, GENDER AMBIGUOUS PARENTAL FIGURE WANTS TO PICK UP SOME VINTAGE COOKWARE TO SPICE UP THE GODDAMN KITCHEN
Ramblings aside, my established format usually stats that we have a short opening related to the title then a not so brief summation of the story, but this time the summation of the story will in fact be nothing more than a summation, as I genuinely think you should go ahead and read through this title.
our titular hero shane has been bullied by his friend to play test his beta for a gacha game
Tumblr media
a game in which you use magical stones to revive ancient heroes and command them to destroy a collection of horrors from some demonic realm.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
shane awakens after a long day of Gameing and finds that he is now stuck within this world, a magical divine sheep provides him after some prodding some game functions, along with a single stone to summon his first hero. from there, the trio set off to solve the darkness of the world and find a way to return back to whence they came. solveing the other mysteries and oddities the world holds for them.
Tumblr media
and that's it, you ain't gonna learn a single thing more about this story from me, get the fuck out of my house...
well i'm not done yet and a little bit of this will be spoilers.
ok so why do I like this? the action is bad, the art isn't anything to write home about, the armor and weapon design makes me want to curl up in a small hole, bury me gentle please...
Well as i think i've said prior, A lot of things can be hidden if you have enough meat on the bones of it, to the point where i can ignore the guts of it being playdough and the skin being saran wrap you splashed paint over.
the story itself is overwhelmingly interested in how a world that functions through mmo and gacha logic would work. what happens when you can summon someone who is truly the pinnacle of humanity through shear luck? what about the common rabble that are only lucky enough to be able to afford one pull and end up getting some D grade shitterton, Bob the Spackle artist, special skill Crack Spackle.
what about the fact that you can just tell them to attack things and you can take a nap in the middle of a low grade dungeon? the concept of auto play but introduced to the idea of the world at large.
now lets pull out form smaller game concepts, the heroes are the only ones that can defeat the shadows, and only the summoner can control the heros. meaning that the heroes can only be as heroic as the summoner. a brave man shackled by those who even the gods have abandoned.
what about the towns in games that dont have the right vendors? the ones that cannot give the player things they want, the areas without bazaars or weapon shops or summoning areas or shop functions, what happens to them if they have no draw to keep players in them?
these are the questions that the manhwa loves to explore and I love exploring them with it. now, on to our normal questions.
"Is the underlying story, barring any other concept, good?"
Yes, its both a compelling romance with both the main character and the main love interest being good fits for each other with interesting flaws and qualities. they are not perfect and that makes them fun to follow. even without the romance the story has enough aspects for you to follow if you want to ignore the twinks prancing around.
"on a sliding scale of min to max, how much is the author using this to explore fetish"
0, big goose egg. unless the author has a fetish for being held in their sleep then yeah i guess thats a thing.
"How many story crutches does the author use to explore the story"
I cant exactly see any noteworthy crutches, even the normal "game aspects" thing is something they have to specifically work towards within the story.
"Is the author attempting to use the story as a way to explain why he is not weird."
they are trying to say that gachas are bad and I for one believe they should say it fucking louder for the rest of the world to hear.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am now going to be taking isekai requests to review on top of the ones I have set aside for myself to review. to submit an isekai, please send it to me as an ask with the site where I can read through it.

not to be like my parents are incapable of being happy because theyre pathologically committed to being miserable people and it’s bringing everyone else down and i desperately need to leave but rent is so expensive and i am on a sweet contract for work rn so i cant leave the city for a more affordable city until i find employment but like. ‘everything a goddamn ordeal in area family’ is 10000% correct and im EXHAUSTED
im TRYING NOT TO BE MISERABLE AND DEPRESSED AND CRANKY DURING THE BLUEST TIME OF THE YEAR. I am working on MYSELF and being cheerful instead of cranky even though i want to scream and i am changing my diet bc im having Tummy Problems and im Going to the Gym for the brain endorphins and like. holy shit i went grocery shopping with my mother and i will NEVER do that again it’s exhausting. she’s SO nitpicky and penny-pinching and i GET that that’s how she was raised and we were poor when i was small but 1) we’re no longer THAT poor 2) IM BUYING MY OWN GOCERIES and the mental hoops to save 50 cents is NOT WORTH IT + im going flexetarian so the amnt of money im saving on meat means i can get nice produce
3) I WANTED TO GO ALONE but ‘this way we save on gas’ like WOW A WHOLE FIFTY CENTS I WILL JUST PAY FOR IT MYSELF HOLY SHIT. she treats everything (cooking, grocery shopping, LIFE ITSELF) like it’s a chore she just has to get through and like sure, she’s a SAHM cooking for a whole house and i have sympathy for that, but like. MAYBE she wouldnt be so miserable and crabby if she took the opportunity to view these things as smalls joys, or at least opportunities for joy. i LOVE cooking and grocery shopping, yes sometimes im tired. but it’s about an attitude of opportunity and wonder at the smallest things. a whole store full of so many kinds of foods? endless opportunity! all these people going about their lives? the smallest children? yes even that cranky woman yelling into her cellphone? wow look at the miracle of human existence. cooking? im sharing love. like yes it IS trite but it is such a wonderful way to live, and before anyone says ‘oh the joy wears off’ it doesn’t!  not if you work to cultivate it! i spent years on my own and i never got tired of grocery shopping it was a weekly joy!
and then ofc we got home and my father is being pissy and grumpy and it’s just like. LEAVE ME GODDAMN ALONE. let me cook and exist in peace.
like no wonder these ppl are so unhappy if they take every single neutral (or even positive) experience and find a way to deliberately put a negative spin on it, play the ‘woe is me’ long suffering card, blame it on their spouse, etc etc etc. on purpose on purpose, they are determined to be miserable on purpose and it creates this godawful aura of unhappiness in the whole house
and it’s not even like they can play the mental illness get off free card. im more mentally ill that either of them by a SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT. however i acknowledge it. i seek help. i take meds. i do what i can to help myself get to a baseline functional, and from there i work to cultivate peace in a positive feedback loop bc like cbt and ert do work, at least somewhat, if you actually put the effort in. they refuse to acknowledge that their moods and behaviour is abnormal, they refuse to admit anything is wrong no matter how much i plead, how much EXPLICIT ADVICE i try to give, if they wont even see the problem they for sure arent making attempts to fix it.
i am a fuckin adult and my parents mental health is not my responsibility esp after they keep refusing all my offered aid but like. it is very hard to cultivate joy living with people who are SO DETERMINED to remain miserable after literally a DECADE+ of me trying to fix things
i have to come up with interesting excuses to go grocery shopping and cook at odd hours when i can be LEFT ALONE to do the things that bring me joy

this might be a bit off topic for me but idc
i keep thinking about the idea of connor being really curious about human babies and their behavior
It probably started when one of his cowrokers at DPD, whos a single mother brings her baby to the office with her because she couldn't afford daycare/a babysitter at the time
There arent really any infants or small children in the dbh universe–at least none that were shown or mentioned, besides Hanks late son Cole–so i dont assume Connor has encountered that many babies throughout his career as a detective, probably because they dont trust androids to run interviews with children or interact with children in case of malfunctions or whatnot
so naturally, connor is very curious when he sees his co-worker bring her baby with her to the office, and approaches her at her desk while her baby is sitting in her little baby carrier right beside her mother's desk while she types away at her computer
The woman doesnt notice him standing there until he greets her in his usual tone
"Hello detective [Name]!"
The woman jolts in her seat as his voice rips her out of her headspace, "Jesus, Connor, don't do that again, you scared me..."
"My apologies, detective. I see you have brought your infant to work?"
"Yeah, the prices for daycares and babysitters are outrageous, i didnt have much of a choice" she replied, looking embarrassed
Connor turned to look down at the baby, who was also looking back at him and cooing. he tilted his head to the side as his LED circle on his temple blinked, signaling that he was analyzing some stats in his head.
The baby giggled at the sight of him, squirming in her seat
Connor looked back at the woman "She seems to be happy, do you know why?"
The woman looked at him blankly for a second before shrugging. "I'm not sure. its a thing babies do when they're discovering the world around them, i think."
Connor looked back at the baby, who now was trying to eat her own foot. "Why is she doing that?"
"Connor, i dont know why she does the things she does. Shes a baby, and I'm her mother, not a an expert." the woman sighed
"Shes around 5 months old, 16 lbs 4 oz, she's very healthy for her age"
"Huh? How did you- oh."
"I looked at her digital birth records, they're public records."
"I know that, Connor. Look, shouldnt you be working with Hank on a case right now?"
The android shook his head. "its detective Hank's day off today."
"Okay...well dont you have something to do on your own? Writing reports?"
"I am already caught up on all my case reports so far."
The woman looked at him, trying to think of something to say, when Fowler's voice interrupted her
"Detective [Name], can you come into my office? i have a job for you."
"Alright, give me one second!" she replied from across the office. She then turns to Connor. "Can you watch her for me while i go see what Fowler wants?"
The android nods and smiles. "I promise i will make sure she is okay."
The woman gave him a faint smile before scurrying to Fowler's office.
****
So the co-worker got assigned a case on the other side of the city, and she asks Connor if he could babysit her baby while she's gone. And of course, he agrees. She then hands him a diaper bag and the keys to her house so he can babysit there.
So he uses his built-in search engine to look up information about how to care for a baby, like how to change diapers, how to feed them, burp them, play with them, put them to sleep, etc.
So he basically spends the whole day with the baby. and he just sits there with the baby sitting in her baby walker, cooing.
He even talks to the baby as if she could understand him, but she just stares back at him blankly or she isnt listening and is more interested in her toys and putting them in her mouth
"You're teething, thats why you're nibbling on your toys, isnt it?"
"*unintelligible baby coos*"
"I see"
But sometimes when they baby cries and she's just inconsolable, connor is at a loss. He tries everything from feeding, holding her, handing her, but nothing works. His LED turns yellow from being overwhelmed and he just doesnt know what to do.
So he calls Hank asking for help. Hank is surprised that Connor is actually caring for a baby, but alas he agrees to help.
So he comes over and he shows him how to calm down a baby. When he holds the baby, he pats her back and rocks her and her crying stops.
"How did you do that, detective?"
"Do what?"
"Get her to stop crying, she seemed inconsolable."
"Well, sometimes babies cry for reasons that we'll never know, sometimes they do it just to cry. But one thing most babies like is getting patted on the back and rocked. That usually helps soothe them"
Connor tilts his head. "I see"
"Does she have a sleep suit lying around?i think she cried herself to sleep, literally "
And so the baby is put in her little sleep suit and put in her crib, and shes out like a light.
So the mom comes back and she's surprised when she sees the house all neat and her baby sleep and sound.
She thanks Connor for his generous efforts with a kiss on the cheek before he leaves
And he thinks about it till the next day.
So now it became a regular thing with connor playing with the baby sometimes and holding her. He always asks about her and if the mom needs any help. So now whenever Connor has some free time he happily spends it looking after the baby.
He learns more and more about babies through that experience, and i feel like he becomes really drawn to them and his eyes light up whenever he sees one in public.
Hes sometimes seen pushing the baby in a stroller while hes on a walk in the park. He becomes very good at taking care of her. He becomes such a sweet father figure in a way
Idk, i just love the idea of him with babies.
so i guess thats it. sorry for rambling on so much.

ok ok i havent been like. Active in this fandom for a while but i jus
red shoe theory!!!
okok listen alr i do Not believe this as an actual canonical thing, and i can totally see why a lot of people are frustrated with it, but i just??? love it a lot??
so im gonna jus. talk about it lmao
so for anyone not aware of the red shoe theory, its just the theory that the reason izuku wears his red shoes(and why we see baby am with them) is because quirkless people need special shoes to. yk. Walk Comfortably. now personally again i dont this is canon but i like it a lot!! as someone with wider feet than the average person, i’d like to say Shoes Are A Fucking Nightmare
here’s the thing, my entire family has this issue, and for all of us, shoes hurt. i live for the day i can finally actually afford Good Fucking Shoes that Fit ok. it does not matter how many sizes i go up, it has also hurt to wear shoes. and i know that Yeah maybe losing that pinky toe joint would change much, but i feel like itd change enough, yk?
see, my feet are most wide at my toes- and as a kid this was wonderful! it actually gave me a lot better balance than most other kids, and was great for climbing places i wasnt meant to be able to climb.
now? owowowow pain i hate my feet
i cannot easily find shoes that fit me comfortably, and in the end my shoes will always begin to break open at the sides of my toes.
my feet arent extreme, its not super noticeable, but its enough. and its why i like the red shoe theory- because honestly if i could afford it id scrounge up all my fucking money to get shoes made for my type of feet. and the idea that quirkless people having that toe joint make their feet that might wider, requiring them to have specific shoes, is something i can rlly rlly relate to
and i know another issue people have with the shoe theory is that ‘why is it only those shoes??? wtf’ but i’d also like to say that, despite the 20% statistic we’re given, i feel like its more than a bit misleading? im a firm believer that quirkless people are either a smaller percentage of that, or that the percentages shrink drastically depending on where you are. specifically, i wouldnt be surprised if japan had an incredibly low quirkless population
and the thing is, yeah maybe a lot of companies might cater to my feet, but practically none are affordable for me where im at, and i feel like that could be the reason for the shoes- in japan, maybe with the dwindling quirkless population all the wider shoe companies just. stopped yk? because it stopped being profitable. so at a point, it became incredibly hard to get those shoes, and eventually they had to be imported to you to get them in japan. and yeah, thered absolutely be other designs for the shoes, but consider: the red shoes are the cheapest. its simple, yk? with how quirkless people are shown to be treated, they seem unlikely to be able to get a rlly high paying job, and when you dont make enough money you just go with the cheapest option, yk?
but still, obv some quirkless people Wouldnt Do That, whether to avoid the off chance of someone recognizing their shoes or they just cant afford it, people would absolutely go a size up or smth! hell, thats what im doing! but still, that kills you feet, which in turn hurts your knees, then your hips, and finally your back. it fucking hurts man
so idk i find the concept rlly interesting personally

re: learned helplessness post // (please know i am not intending rudeness)
the problem isnt that these people need specific instructions, its that they (for lack of kinder terms) make things harder for themselves, and also that instead of asking someone who can help them in person, they just quit and blame the online recipe. the blame of the online recipe is where the helplessness part comes in
to use the boiled egg ex., most recipes or guides online actually *do* tell you that you need a pot big enough for the amount of eggs, enough water just to cover them, and to set the stove on high until the water boils. there are specific instructions. asking what temperature to set the stove to needs only a follow-up "what temp does water boil" google search to know that water boils at 212F/100C
the point of "learned helplessness" (i do agree the term has become watered down from its actual meaning) is to frustrate the person helping you into just doing it for you, or to convince them youre too incompetent to do it and, again, do it for you
as someone who also genuinely stalls and gets overwhelmed when i dont have a specific process lined out and practiced, there comes a point where you do need to help yourself. ask to be shown specificly in real life how to do something. watch a how-to video if thats not an option. instead of just giving up and deciding not to do it because its scary and new (/not mean)
in conclusion i am not intending any snide tone or sarcasm or meanness or anything so please dont think that i am attacking you or your brother. that post is specifically about people who are unwilling to find a way to do the things they need to do, not people that need help in general
hey, thanks for such a respectful message and adding to the discussion! its really interesting hearing these different perspectives
i guess in the end we dont personally know the people in the screenshots. are they demonstrating learned helplessness? or are they simply venting a frustration that they experience in their day to day lives as a disabled person? i know in the end they chose to post those things online, instead of googling solutions or connecting with other people privately to find solutions, but i guess in the end we dont know who they are, what support networks they have/who they can reach out to, or if they're using the boiling egg as a vague example to demonstrate that some tasks arent as simple as abled people find them! and for the record, i have had my fair share of online recipes that really vaguely say "add a splash of" "use a generous amount of" and other really vague instructions, so i guess its a luck of a draw on what recipe you find haha!
but in the same vain i do see where you're coming from. i think it's important for people to challenge themselves. someone i know also has troubles doing "simple" tasks like boiling an egg, and they explained that they have learned to challenge themselves with these tasks, and overcomign the anxiety of fucking it up. and theyve fucked up a lot trying to heat frozen meals, or making toast, and like, its shit cuz it costs additional money cuz youve burnt the food and can no longer eat it, but if you are able to afford to make those mistakes, then yeah, go for it. especially if theres no financial consequence, i think its really important to self-evaluate, find your threshold, understand yourself and your limits, and push yourself in that compassionate way. like with my ADHD, i definitely dont do the "i have this thing, oh well guess im just doomed to do [symptom] forever". i try to approach it with "maybe i cant do all 10 tasks ive been putting off doing all in one day, but im going to make it a goal to do at least one today" "im going to forget and be overwhelmed, so im going to set 5 different alarms 5 mins after each other to remind me" doing things like that to set yourself up for success.
so in that sense, yeah, i definitely agree that it benefits when people challenge themselves, in ways that are practical. i do admit my brother for example struggles with confidence, but he also has some personality difficulties where he feels the world owes him. he definitely demonstrates learned helplessness in some aspects.
and i think my brain just went on a tangent, because i was mainly getting heated at the comments on the post, wehre people were being downright ableist and shitty. and i think i just see this rhetoric way too much, where when someone genuinely struggles with something, it's generally met with a "haha! how can you find that difficult? thats so easy!" and that always rubs me the wrong way. i interpreted the screenshots as the people talking about finding it difficult to boil an egg as them trying to provide insight into the idea that something seemingly so simple is actually really complex for some people.
but anywaayyy, as i said in the end we dont know who these people are, or their intention, but i personally interpreted them as just being very candid in explaining their struggle. and maybe, yeah, they could learn to take risks and attempt to boil an egg instead of talking about how much they cant do it to the online sphere, but i know i dont know the context, and therefore dont wanna make assumptions

also i hate most things where the final challenge is like well batman now you must give up your mask mostly bc it plays out so cliche and imo is such a weird stopping point for batman's story (esp if it's a villain who i dont think would care but props to ak for making me believe that jonathan has enough reason to care his hope v fear thing was actually good) but ak did such an interesting followup for post game seeing everyone close to batman react, esp w the high security lock up people i find it interesting that most people take it as batman = bruce wayne (seen a lot w everyone at the gcpd who tell him theyll just stick w batman or keep it to lighthearted jokes) and its jonathan's whole thing of giving face to the faceless and bringing down the idol-hood of a hero/hope (his argument for it is slightly diff than what i would go for though. i see it less as "now you have a face to blame, to put failure to" and more of "giving batman an identity takes him away from being a hero/urban legend/myth and turns him into something lesser which is a man" which i think was kind of touched on but eh. second doesnt work as well when hes long established and people know hes real which is another reason i think later timeline stuff is shakier for me depending on how it plays out) but im interested in the viewpoints of the majority batman = bruce wayne vs how a very small minority takes it, both being the people who knew batman most intimately, joker and harvey, who both make a statement about "wearing a mask" joker is harder to pinpoint in this game bc he is just a mind thing and most of his stuff is said to just be edgy or mean (but you can also argue that it's just bruce's own thoughts gone through some twisted joker way of saying them) but even still i think he makes a clear distinction (even if incorrect) that between bruce wayne and batman, there is a mask and an act put up & that theres freedoms in one that arent available w the other (even if he means it in accordance to violence) i think harvey's is really very interesting, idk as much for his dialogue to batman (aka bruce wayne) vs his to just batman, but his lines of saying "i didnt make a promise w bruce wayne on that roof" etc really sticks w me & the many diff implications w it & he goes out to say he understands what it means to wear another face, which goes into stuff arkhamverse never really explored which is the personal disconnect that bruce has between himself & himself + which one is more genuine, batman doesnt feel fear while bruce wayne does (ashose) -> who can afford to be emotionally vulnerable, who can do more good and who is currently doing more good (imposter) + i think it's such an interesting facet of being a superhero (at least for some) of being which one is who i pretend to be and which one is really me, which ik isnt as deep as ak takes it but to go back to it im just very interested in how harvey points it out that his friend on the rooftops wasnt bruce that he didnt give all this up for bruce that this trio didnt include bruce & how ultimately he wasnt let down by bruce wayne bc there is a distinction, and he, more than anyone else, would understand the distinction

bruh thats literally how i feel about so many hobbies and interests yes we have to have some type of talent to make it in this world but i think the way its pushed on society from a young age means its less relstsble for people who are now older. with all these younger groups what am i supposed to be "attached" to the members about yes some of them are going to be attractive but im 30 this year. music groups, brand items, even classes for learning new skills have become so out of touch with reality it seems to forget theres a bunch of people who cannot access them for varying reasons. take ticket prices for example or merch for anyone to enjoy kpop or any music group it is investment to the extreme.
where im from if i were to want to see ateez for example, id have to travel 4 hours by train to london which cost over £100, book a ticket that cost £300/400 bc you dont want the crappy seats then you need hotel, travel fees to get to arena, then youll want merch and you still need money to get back home. so im sorry to any new group even if theyre decent but us older music fans are going to get left behind eventually as most things are about gen alpha or whatever the fuck theyre calling the new gens.
so much stuff really isnt worth it unless you can afford it :/. thats y less is more, seventeen for example way too many members how they all going to get paid if they converts costing half someones wages?
i get these kids need an income of some kind and they have talent ngl but when we gonna say enough is enough. i even looked at the likes of greenday and maneskin but im not forking out that much to go enjoy some music. just listen to it for free on youtube or watch their concert from someone elses videos. its practically the same type of experience u just arent there physically at the concert lmfao. same with buying items do we really gotta have all the latest junk bc its relevant? no. if i could barely manage the 00s without uggs i can do without a stanley mug or lululemon bum bag.
Honestly, exactly. And even in my generation (Gen Z), most of the people I know don't really have those things or can participate in them. Like, concert tickets are so fucking expensive, and I get it, the artists are in high demand and they need to staff the stadiums and fly them out and all that shit. But it's just that most people can't afford them nowadays. However, I can admit I do know OF people who could fly from Cali to New York just for an idol's concert. And with Seventeen, most of their money comes from music sales I believe, and there are other factors contributing a lot to their pay. Honestly, I agree with you. The idols have to make income, because again, at the end of the day it's their job, and I'm sure a lot of people who like going to concerts can afford it. That's their prerogative.
But like you said, hobbies are getting so expensive nowadays. Like there are people spending thousands just because they want to win a fan call with an idol, or people spending thousands on albums just to get photocards. Of course, those things aren't exactly the norm, and most people don't do that, but it's still just wild.

pls pls pls go to your local farmer's marke if you're able to! ofc these places arent always accessible so i understand if you're not able to do so but anyone that can go should go. i like going earlier in the day (lots of variety) or at the end of the day (higher chance of free stuff).
they're places full of people who really care about your community! if you have a fun conversation with shared interests they might give you free stuff! the people running these stands want people to try their products and enjoy it. most stands will let you sample things if you ask nicely. and these are always really fun people to talk to! they're usually very passionate about the work they do and very knowledgeable about it.
you're also directly supporting locals if you end up buying stuff but even if you cant afford anything you're still getting out and meeting people from your community and that's great! i know farmer's markets can seem like some boring shit that's too expensive for normal people but you can genuinely just go there and have fun and meet cool people and taste food without having to spend a single dollar. although i do recommend buying stuff from your favorite stands if you can afford it because it really helps out!

EVIL DEAD RISE IS ON MAX
FUCK YEH LETS DO THIS
Nice fake-out with the drone, I think this is the first time the demon movement was paired with the movement of a real object.
Why the fuck did these guys rent the burning building from Midsommar? Or the cult church in Mandy? Perfectly triangular buildings are super sus now.
Ooooh we got ourselves an OG cabin clock.
Are they just jumping right into it? No build up? Just deadites from the start? I guess I would take anything over stupid family drama.
Uh.... well, that just happened. A scalping 5 minutes in.
I guess this isnt the first time there was a cold open featuring a possession and a bunch of gore. I guess my face blindness made it so I didnt realize that none of the actors I saw were in the trailers.
Okay, we got a rocker chick who I mistook for Mia for a sec who I guess is pregnant? Interesting so far.
How old is this lady that he has several kids? She doesnt look that much older than her older daughter.
"Hey Bridget, Moms on nights so we're watching all the Freddy movies in a row."
"Even the shitty ones."
"There arent any shitty ones."
Excuse me, did we watch the same Dream Master? Dream Child? Freddy's Dead? I love Freddy but he has as many bad movies as he does good.
I like this strange small child with her baby head battering ram.
Oooh, is mom using overtone on her hair? Her hair looks like mine when I used to dye it. When I could afford to dye it. (I got a better paying job so I can start to do that again!!!)
So Beth is forever young mom's sister, interesting.
Staffanie is fucking awesome.
Oooof... Ellie, did you send a text or an email? Two calls and a voice mail are easily forgotten when someone is super busy on the road.
Also, Beth, listen to your sisters voicemail when she leaves one. Call without voicemail is a chat, call with voicemail is important.
Wait, what was this bank built on top of? Or did Mia deposit the Necronomicon into a bank vault to keep it safe?
Are people in movies just not scared of the dark? Of bugs? Of-
JESUS CHRIST JESUS CHRIST
DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING THAT WAS STASHED IN A GRAVE. ITS CURSED AF. I DONT EVEN BELIEVE IN CURSES OR GHOSTS AND EVEN I WOULDNT TOUCH IT. AND NOT EVEN BECAUSE ITS DIRTY AS HELL.
That pizza was still good to eat, just a little smooshed.
"Weird shit like this gets locked away for a reason." Bridget is smart. Bridget should throw that book out the window right now.
The Necronomicon, now featuring a tooth/claw lock with a blood release. Not seen that before.
ONE OF THREE. THREE.
Is this actor on the vinyl trying to imitate Dr Knowby from Evil Dead 2? Like obviously hes not the same guy but the way hes talking.
Oh no, haunted turntable. You see, that's why CDs and MP3s are the superior formats.
NOPE NOPE NO ELEVATOR HORROR FOR ME. PLEASE NO IM STILL WORKING THROUGH MY PHOBIA.
Well great, you just had to take the book and vinyls and now your mom is haunted.
No tree roots available? Ropes and cables will make a good substitute! Cant do an evil dead movie without a little bondage.
Eeew, how many fertilized eggs did you get in your dozen? Where did you get them?
Sorry kids, your mom is a tweaker now.
You think the elevator is going to work in a blackout?
Um... I would be worried if a 'dead bodys' eyes reopened. I know there can be post-mortem spasms but the eyes perfectly reopening and nothing else moving is very strange-
FUCK I SCARED MYSELF. I have my tablet next to me and I saw movement in the screen reflection and I almost jumped out of my skin. It was my hand moving to set down my glass of water.
Hm... this feels like a new ploy for the deaddites. Play dead for a while and then reanimate in the creepiest way possible? I like it.
This is when you jump down the broken stairs and run for your lives. Hell, most elevators have little ladders in the shafts to climb up and down. Fuck it, take the cable and rappel down, just get the fuck away from the possessed tweaker with a glass shard.
Do not kiss a freshly made tattoo. That is very unsanitary.
Wasnt an eye popping out and going into someones mouth in Evil Dead 2? Like, wasnt it Henrietta and Bobby Joe?
El is doing a poor impression of Annie from Hereditary. You need to smash your face against the door way faster than that.
Sorry neighbors, but its every man for themselves now. Not even a gun can save you now.
Yeah Danny, you see cursed shit, you leave it ALONE. I love antiques and mysterious vinyls as much as the next antique enthusiast, but that book was CLEARLY fucked up.
Little girl whose name I forget, grab Staffanie, you're gonna need her.
Oh no, Bridget's face is haunted. We gotta cut it off. Should we do it Mason Verger or Nick Cage style?
It might be easier to convince your daughter to leave the apartment if you move the dead armless boy from view.
Oh Kassie... I cant be too mad. At your age I would have done the same thing. I remember getting scared when I saw my mom walk into a wall and faceplate on the ground. I would have done anything in that moment to believe she was okay (she was, she was super sleepy when she hit the wall and the fall dazed her. She only had a few bruises after)
Bridget, you are not Phoenix Wright! You cannot eat glass and not expect serious internal injuries! And you are not Rohan Kumakura, so put that cheese grater down!
Oh no Bridget... I'm so sorry they couldnt save you before you got impaled. And I'm sorry Kassie that you had to do that to your sister. This being a family and not a group of mostly unrelated friends is making this a lot harder.
Danny with the good ideas now. Where were your good ideas when you climbed into the bank vault?
Chekhov's soldering iron coming in clutch.
IF YOU KNEW THAT THE WORDS WERE CURSED, WHY DIDNT YOU DESTROY THE VINYL THAT HAD THEN RECORDED??? YOU CAN'T DESTROY THE NECRONOMICON BUT YOU CAN DESTROY YOUR RECORDING OF THE WORDS.
The mom is too big to fit inside the vents... is the armless kid in there wiggling around?
IF YOU ARE TYING UP A CORPSE YOU THINK IS GOING TO RISE AGAIN, TIE THEM UP SUPER TIGHT!!! Also Beth, keep one ear open in case the kids need you.
Oh, I guess mom is thin enough to fit in the vents.
Is the mom making a Lilo and Stitch reference? Putting her nail in the vinyl and making the noise come out her mouth?
They are killing a lot of kids in this movie. Barring any deaths from the TV Show, which I abandoned after a while, I don't think they've killed kids before. I'm assuming Bridget is under 18.
I guess this Book works differently than the one in the last movie. 6 kills and no rain of blood yet.
DEAD BY DAWN. DEAD DAWN. DEAD BY DAWN
Kids... what are you doing to your mom? Why are you putting your hands in there?
So this is what the elevators in the Overlook Hotel look like from the inside. And of course this built up to a clear Shining reference.
It didnt rain blood, it flooded blood.
Oooh! Theres a truck with a wood chipper attached to it in the garage! The deaddites can't possess a body that's a pile of mush!
I'm going to see that thing in my nightmares. Holy fuck, what were the designers got this movie thinking when they made this monstrosity? Like, I'm legit scared to look at it right now. I'm trying to not look directly at the screen but I also don't want to miss anything.
Kassie will not become your Saffanie! You don't need one!
You must choose your destiny, the chainsaw, or the boomstick?
You know, I was criticizing Beth for wearing her shoes inside the apartment, but they helped keep the chipper from hurting her.
I can't even begin to imagine all the therapy that Kassie is going to need once this is all done. She will never be able to be around wood chippers again. Or chainsaws. Or elevators. Or look through a peep hole.
That garage MUST smell awful. Theres blood EVERYWHERE. Before I was on birth control I had super heavy periods and the bathroom would reek of blood during my heavy days. That's a tiny drop compared to the ocean of blood in that garage. How did that lady not IMMEDIATELY smell it? (Unless shes like my old boss and lost her sense of smell)
I see... the cold open is a result of these events. The Mandy Midsommar temple cottage wasn't demonic, just the girl who can't smell.
LEE CRONIN WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU. YOU TOOK AN ALREADY PANTS SHITTINGLY SCARY REMAKE AND MAKE IT SHIT PANTS HARDER
Good job

I read something that said the housing market is supposed to be coming back soon. How? Minimum wage isn't going up. Fair interest rates arent happening. If nobody can afford your house or the money to buy your house, how the fuck do you think you can sell it? It's kind of like last week tonight. He said that over 80% of all new homes have homeowners associations, and there's no government organization that keeps them in check. They are mini governments. And guess what? Homeowners associations can foreclose on your house. This is how broken everything is. There is not a single thing the USA is doing correctly. If it's not profitable, we won't do it. Even if we all demand it. Then they'll blame the other Rich dude when it's all rich people. I am not joking it's all rich people died, I genuinely don't see the world getting worse. I'm not going to act like it would be better guaranteed, but the people who get away with the worst crimes in all of history wouldn't be around to do them anymore at least.
