Me absolutely gushing and fangirling over the people of this fandom. So don't mind me 🥰

At its core this fandom is fueled by the best people I've ever met or have gotten the chance to interact with.

I've not run into one sour person. And I've been told it's because I'm not heavily active in the fandom or as diehard as many others.

But I don't think that's true. I think this fandom is genuinely filled with the most amazing folks.

I've only come across creative, gentle spirited, unique, protective, open-minded, friendly, caring, original, honest, transparent, welcoming, warm, bright, accepting individuals.

I'm in a lot of fandoms and I've never seen the community this one has. It's not just Tumblr unique either this fandoms energy spans several websites.

I know theirs a dark side to it, as their is with any fandom. But more often than not I see the good side of it.

It's incredibly easy to talk to a ST fan, even as a woman with severe social phobia and general anxiety.

I love seeing us all interact with each other. It always looks and feels like old friends chatting.

The support the fandom gives each other and the general acceptance of differences is heart warming.

It's like.... you've all become a great big version of the family the characters in the show have become.

I've seen so many people build each other up when one of us is being down on themselves. People reaching out to other fans to help. Sharing joys and sadnesses with one another.

Welcoming new people into the arms of the fandom in the best way.

But as well as protecting each other and the people who brought to life the very show that we all love as well as the industry it's driven by.

I don't think you all know how wonderful you actually are.

It's been years and I'm still blown away by this fandom. Even with it's moments of turmoil, those never last long. It gets a little ugly in some small spaces and sure like any large fandom folks bump heads from time to time. But even that usually gets resolved pretty quickly.

I've heard horror stories, but overall even in those spats ~ all sides end up having a support circle that's genuinely concerned for those involved.

Everyone whose helped build Stranger Things into what is should be proud of this community that it formed and the people it's brought together.

The ST fandom is one with so much heart it's spilling over like a waterfall.

And I thank everyone in this community for making it what it is and being who you are. This fandom constantly gives me reasons to smile.

Fanart, fics, conversations, theories, character analysis, gifs, the way you all spread news, info and hype. Good lord it's endearing and constant.

Seeing everyone rally together over things.

The overflow of empathy within people here, even those who claim they aren't good with people ... they are unknowingly great with people.

I adore how you all strive to share your interests with each other and let one another know your valid, seen and accepted.

Thank you all for making this party the best ever.

Shut up I'm sentimental 🙃 I know but seriously.

I'm so glad for this fandom community. Beautiful, priceless, enchanting, unforgettable people all of you.

people love to use ffxiii’s messy development as a reason to completely shit on the game but honestly the fact they managed to sneak in so many little details in the gameplay in a way that reflects the characters and story despite all the miscommunication between the dev sections is just impressive to me

#was xiii horribly planned out and missed out on a lot of important feedback because of the poor time management? absolutely #does that mean you cant be impressed with what the game achieved regardless of whether you liked it or not? fuck no #also the fact theres next to no bugs (not counting the pc port because... yeah) is amazing all things considered #and the graphics still hold up to this day #the linearity is everyones main issue with the game but look at x dude #x was linear as hell too but it makes sense bc yuna had a pilgrimage to follow #just as how it makes sense for the xiii cast to not have time to stop and explore cocoon while they were being hunted by the government #thats why you have so much more freedom to explore when youre on pulse #theres not even anything objectively wrong with having a game be linear in the first place #and the people complaining about the story being ''incoherent'' are just... wrong?#they give you enough hints within the dialogue to piece the story together yourself while also not leaning on exposition dumps to tell it #and if you cant do that then the datalogs are right THERE #games have relied on ''notes'' to tell parts of their story for ages now and i dont understand why its suddenly bad when xiii does it #i dont like sitting through exposition dumps and i like being able to analyse and theorize about a plot WHILE im experiencing it #and a lot of other people feel the same way so its not an objectively bad aspect of the game's storytelling #you just need to pay attention and be patient and wait for the story to unfold #i went off the rails but ANYWAY #aki stfu #final fantasy xiii

Okay I'll bite. What happened in this guy's childhood to make him go to the extensive body-destroying lengths to bring his mom back??

His father left and his mother was wonderful to Edward and his brother, they loved her very much. But in the 2003 version, she died, possibly from being heartbroken over Edward’s father leaving. She was sick for days and finally passed away. In the brotherhood version it was definitely an illness that passed around Risembool (where Edward lived) and his mother caught it and she died. He and his brother missed her and Edward wanted nothing more than to bring his mother back. He thought he would use alchemy to do it, but human transmutation is very illegal because of how dangerous it is. Alchemy is dependent on equivalent exchange, and it’s practically impossible to bring someone back to life. So Ed lost his leg, and Alphonse lost his entire body. Ed couldn’t lose his little brother so he connected Al’s soul to a suit of armor, losing his arm in the process.

Oh but don’t worry! His life gets so much worse :)

#there’s two versions of this show #there’s 2003 that was following the manga but caught up too quickly so it did its own thing #and brotherhood that honestly didn’t follow the manga in the beginning but DID especially in the end #2003 is MUCH darker than brotherhood #brotherhood is dark but not as much as 2003 so if you want a not so dark anime with a definite happy ending then brotherhood is for you #if you’re fine with a dark anime with a bittersweet ending and a very messy film at the end. then 2003 works too #I personally love both #but they are VERY very different from each other lol #like it’s funny at how vastly different they are #but regardless this show is amazing. both versions have a great story #beautiful brotherhood #and well written characters #like don’t get me started on the female characters they are ALL amazing #especially in brotherhood #anyways I’m done I hope that told you enough #now it has been a hot second since I’ve seen 2003 and brotherhood so the death of their mother may be different than what I said #but oh well #today is a special holiday for fma enjoyers btw #asks

I'm rewatching s6 and overall I still feel it's a very solid season and generally rather enjoyable, and it gave us two of the best episodes this show has ever made, but waiting for Buck and Eddie to interact is like wandering for miles through a desert, only to collapse on the showrunners' front porch begging for reprieve, just to receive a drop of water and a pat on the head as they drop kick you back out into the desert. It's rough is what I'm saying. holy shit.

#like SHEESH #buck and eddie have a magnetizing and key relationship in the show so it's just. weird when it's not there #like having barely any madney scenes in s5. there's a certain je ne sais quoi missing from two characters who just have amazing chemistry #idk it just changes the viewing experience for me. like this show is all about the emotional connection and depth bw characters #and buck and eddie add such a thicc layer of emotion and vulnerability that is oh so tantalizing regardless if you ship them or not #not a bad season but this lack of interaction is just Felt #k spirals

was just mulling over some twst thoughts (overblot-related and such) noticing how most of the incidents so far end with the victim getting enough time to rest and get back to a fit condition to live their lives?- and then i suddenly remembered a canon fact that makes for suuuuch good recovery-whump happenings:

if blot accumulation in a magestone subsides when the caster's physical reserves are replenished (food, sleep, etc.), what about the post-overblot recovery?? after all the wreckage of an overblot is said and done, all the emotions have been had and harrowed- what about the physical rehabilitation process?

we see a few mentions of overblotters feeling sick right after the fact- or just generally being physically worse off after burning through a notable amount of magic- and it got me thinking; what about all those post-blot scenes we don't get to see? sure, they've got emotional (often literal also!) messes to fix ahead of them-- but what about that moment where everything just feels bad and gross and the failure of your best laid plans is just heaping onto how absolutely wrecked you are and everyone can see it?

(the thought of any of the prev ob!ers actually having to voice a physical need is just too good to resist imo- especially after the fact and having to see the ramifications!!! augugughghh and while i may have reasonings "blot bad, sleep and food good" does something to the brain i must admit))

just.. AUGH.. i need to see the emotional vulnerability and the walls betrayed by the all-powerful denial-shatterer: good old physical needs!

Racism and colourism are systemic, and of course they're rampant in most media, fandoms, merchandising, the whole shebang. So these are far from the only examples of this being a problem, but it's maddening being into jjba, ffvii, and fma and seeing damn near NOTHING for any of the (scant) core characters of colour from these fandoms.

GRAYSTRIPE TIME! YES! I LOVE THE GUY!

Honestly one thing about TPB cast of apprentices that always sticks out to me is how they conform under the code. Dustpelt and Sandstorm are the conventional warriors while Fireheart, Graystripe and Ravenpaw are not. Ravenpaw has to flee the clans but even when it's safe to return he finds peace outside of the system.

But back to Graystripe specifically, his relationship with his two litters are wasted by the Erin's and in the case of his second it feels like they completely forgot being a father was important to him in the first arc? Like in the first arc it's implied fathers aren't involved with plenty of queens simply not stating a mate. Crookedstar and Graystripe are made out to be exceptions to the rule. Going with his kids to Riverclan is not even considered an option as its so unheard of. Then he starts a new family within the clan that he can be openly loving with and just... isn't? TPB Graystripe would NEVER.

There was so much potential. With Blossomfall specifically I wish she would keep her insecurity with both parents. What if SHE thought that Graystripe greived Feathertail more than he cared for her alive and in the same clan? That her and her siblings were second fiddle to his first litter?

TPB Graystripe's fatherhood was actually very present and special! It really is a shame that they shove him into the background of his second litter's personal struggles

And I really, really think it's because the Erins are both incapable of 'killing their darlings', AND will usually reach for a mother to be the problem in a relationship.

Rainflower, Lizardstripe, Millie, Cinders, Nightcloud, Sparkpelt*... even Palebird and Daisy get more scrutiny than their husbands, with Tallstar vowing to get revenge for his dad and feeling pushed aside by his mother getting a new mate, and Daisy having to feel guilty that SHE didn't make an effort to let Smoky feel like a dad.

When dads have problems in WC, they're generally framed as being more reasonable or sympathetic, like they were too permissive, or being undermined by their mate, or just... aren't blamed for being utterly absent.

So if Graystripe's kittens are having emotional problems? They just can't have Graystripe present because then, well, he might be somewhat responsible! So they just barely mention him, using Millie as the basis for Blossomfall's problems.

It reminds me so, so much of PO3 and how the minute Squirrelflight's Secret was out, Brambleclaw basically disowns his children, and that just never gets reckoned with. Because the narrative decides that he's right to be hurt, it decides that he's also totally right to treat every single person in his life the way that he does.

And it sucks! It sucks because there's SO MUCH you could do with this stuff! Graystripe having problems with his second litter because of his unresolved trauma surrounding Silverstream is INTERESTING. I WANT to see what he's thinking and feeling. I WANT to see him have issues with his kids, be conflicted between standing up for them or alienating Millie.

It's such a waste.

sho minazuki is such an amazingly fun character to me because he's the pinnacle of ocs a highly angsty 12 year old would come up with

he was raised All Alone by the Secret Villain Of The Previous Game in a Hidden Lab to be the Strongest Fighter but he tried to Break Out with his Uncontrollable Power so the Evil Scientists had to Try To Remove His Power and it put him into a Coma and then and then he was Secretly Manipulating all the stuff from the First (fighting) Game because he Made A Pact With A Powerful Demon Entity but he's actually going to Be Betrayed by it so his Protective Other Self uses the epic power of the Secret Villain Of The Recent Game to betray the entity First and also and also when he shows up he's been Secretly Watching all the protagonists from this game and he Knows The Whole Story and he's Stronger And Doesn't Need Their Group and when the heroes from the Last Game show up he Already Knows everything from their story and their Brand New Secrets about the Evil Organization and plus he Was Offered The Same Power as Both Main Heroes but he Rejected It because he's Too Independent and Strong. and he has an Evil Laugh and Two Cool Swords and he Fights Differently Than Everyone Else and he Makes Sarcastic Puns but his Other Self is Dark and Serious so you Can't Mess With Him. i love this dudes
