I can't help but wonder how'd Tsu'tey react to them and their situation, especially if he didn't realize/notice the whole thing (the siblings adopting/raising Spider & living at Hell's Gate) till later on when the twin where like 13/14.

((I know he'd probably notice earlier bit we can pretend that he was busy with adjusting to life with his injuries/helping Jake be olo'eyktan))

he knew of the infamous 'spellman siblings' around the village, a group of 3 - previously four - children who were incredibly intelligent, prone to violence, and extremely protective of spider. he also knew they were raised by norm spellman, the 'nerd' as jake called him.

spider talked of them frequently, he was practically obsessed with the kids, many would argue they were family. tsu'tey, as much as he loved the kid, was happy to have another set of hands helping him out when he was stretched thin. he had a lot on his plate, jake needing guidance as the new olo'ekytan, his own disabilities to learn to work around, a rambunctious toddler/child (why did they grow so fast? he looked away for five seconds and the little five year old clinging to his leg was suddenly almost 10 and very much not a toddler anymore. it broke his heart a little more then he'd like to admit). he had met the kids a few times, though they seemed weary of the village people, himself included; he knew some had harsh feelings on them taking spider in, he faced it himself, and had attempted to squash it with little success. but even when he tried reaching out to the little ones, they shied away from him as well; knowing they lost so much so young, has been raised by an avatar in a lab, and had formed a bit of a secluded bond to spider, made him assume that they were just shy kids who clung to familiar family.

he had just assumed that spider was in their care while out in the world, and went home with them to his adoptive family, or at very least the 'nerd.' he was wrong. sure he saw the signs of neglect in the little human, it was easy when he was the odd one out, when the reason for his neglect was obvious (even if it was wrong, tsu'tey knew, and had excepted why it happened). it was a lot harder to spot it in kids that already had their own issues before the neglect began; the loss of their elder sister, amongst many other children they were close with, shot in front of them. the death of their parents, their people, their home. it spelled trouble for their young minds, so tsu'tey stupidly assumed that had been the reason the whole time, not the fact they were being raised by people on screens and raising an orphan on their own.

he realized it slowly, over the span of a few months, something was off, more off than he could stomach. it was little things; the older two were defensive against any adults, including the man that should be their father, being near spider. this extended to him, and it took spider begging and promising that tsu'tey was ok, "he's not like them" he said. then he realized how they never spoke of parents, not their own, not norm, not the scientists, or the adoptive family of spiders. they didn't have parents, they had each other, and that was it. then as they began spending more and more time at Hellsgate, their stuff, their voices, there presence began to dwindle from the village, until one day they were gone. as spider trained under tsu'tey the kids became more and more used to his presence, and clung to him more and more each day. something was wrong, so wrong, and he couldn't put his finger on it.

then he talked to norm, who claimed they had 'aged out' of his care, said they stopped seeing him as a dad, so he let them go on with their own lives. he assumed they were fine, and not wanting to overstep as the 'second' parent.

he talked to the siblings, hoping, praying, that somehow, someway, what they were going to say would fix this, make this normal. it didn't. when they took on spider, and norm didn't take him in as his own, didn't try, even when he knows the poor thing needed it. when norm rejected spider, the twins rejected him, and set out to be parents to their two younger siblings.

after that, he slowly built a relationship with the kids, inviting them to stay with him and spider (he stayed with him once a week), sleeping their hammock, eat meals with them, join them for lessons. eventually he works them back into the village, not completely, norm may not be there home, but the lab was, and spider couldn't stay out in the village every night, it was too dangerous. but he did make them feel like they had a place, a home, someone to love them and take care of them and their fragile baby brother.

he has a bone to pick with the people of hellsgate by the end of his little discovery and attempts to mend the damage of said discovery, but, at the end of the day he had 4 kids instead of one, a little family to call his own, and he got introduced to digital media, which movie nights are a win in his mind. cause listen, he is disabled, stressed out with jake and all the other adults being stupid, and 4, wildly smart and energetic kids. having a time where he can lay out and relax in a pillow fort, with his kids in his arms, watching some shitty (amazing, cause the siblings have amazing taste) human movies, that sounds pretty nice to him.

i dont see any issue with shippiing old gen and new gen contestants. we have no frame of reference for what the old gen contestants are like in the present, and total drama has always had a floating timeline. iif youre shipping, for example, the 16 year old versions of heather and julia, that doesnt seem like a problem

Well considering priya was literally born to two total drama fans who trained her to participate in the show since birth, at least 16 years must have passed since the first season. There’s an argument to be made that the contestants are all 18+ so it’s okay, but Chris called them “children” multiple times this season. I think it’s really a stretch, tbh.

#IM SO READY #also I ran the whole time yay #which means I’m back in the game #which sounds weird to say considering I just hiked 60 miles with Evan in the span of 3 days #but that was mostly hiking and not as much running #and that MATTERS as I continue to find out #my legs were v sore this week and also it was hot af so like Thursday I walked a bit on my 7 mile run #but we did all 14 runnin today #but slow af bc I didn’t wanna die and it’s still as humid as Japan so #but I’m not dead and I’m ready 4 pizza #and hopefully I’ll be ready to run 63 miles next week fjfjfjdhejzkzloz #running #also I love how like when I fall off the PT boat #I can’t run 4 miles without knee pain #but two 30 min sessions of PT will fix me entirely #physical therapists are witches #in a good way

the best kind of enrichment a creature like me can get is a piece of media with such complex worldbuilding and themes that I could spend literal weeks exploring it all. I’m sitting here in my enclosure with theories and headcanons and thoughts about The Narrative and the curse that comes with being a hero with a sworn unkillable enemy

#i'm jumping from hyperfixation to hyperfixation like a madman because otherwise i will experience a Thought #never fear carmen sandiego fans who got pulled in by the last 3 days of brainrot! i am not finished!#see i'm like a fuckin squirrel. i get into 4 different hyperfixations in the span of a week and they all take turns being microwaved #some are constantly on the slow cooker (like comics) and others come and go quickly #but they don't leave until i have exhausted every tidbit of canon and headcanon that i can #i'm squeezing the hell out of this worldbuilding which is GREAT because there's so fucking MUCH #YES i am rewatching and re-hyperfixating on bnha in the year of our lord 2022. what r u gonna do about it #listen it's superheroes except there's no vigilantism. which both removes the nuance from the genre and adds an entire new plethora to it #one of these days i'm gonna drop a ramble with all my thoughts so far. one day #i don't read the manga and it's been YEARS since i've watched the show so some of my analyses and predictions are probably already canceled #out by canon #but consider this: what if i'm right about everything ever #like. ugh this show makes me insane w all the themes and parallels and shit #one for all is a curse that was forced onto the first bearer and every holder since #because they all die VIOLENTLY at the hands of afo (as i'm assuming since afo is still alive even after all the ofa holders who have faced #him #which leaves one possibility in my mind w my limited knowledge: he killed them before they could kill him #which means that every new bearer is just the most recent victim of the Narrative Curse #and by gathering their strength and fighting the unkillable enemy and inevitably passing the power on to the next bearer they're just #making the Narrative Curse claim them all the faster in the end #and i haven't even gotten INTO hero killer stain's whole shtick #he's such a fascinating character because he's what the superhero genre is originally about! he's a vigilante fighting for his own terms in #a world where it's illegal to do so. he's literally a superhero in the fact that he embodies the genre the show is based out of.#the Narrative strikes again #and yet he's a murderer who actively hunts down heroes and kills them.#but even that just makes him all the more fascinating because HE HAS A MORAL CODE.#he believes that heroes shouldn't be paid. they shouldn't be celebrities. if a hero gets paid to do their job #then they're just a glorified cop and we all know how paying people with power to have authority and resources over others turns out #and i fully agree w stain on that count because while its true a lot of heroes in that society genuinely want to make the world a better #place....positions of power always attract the people who most abuse that power.

Got some exciting news today at work, because while it;s not good news it IS exciting.

One of the people working overnight has to stop for personal reasons so there’s an opening on overnights.

We all were already asked if were interested in going overnights but alas, no takers.

So, until we find someone else, the former overnighter is splitting the shift with my team.

As in, unless one of the three of us who works until midnight decides they suddenly would rather work 7 pm to 4 am, we’re going to have to work it in rotations.

I’m not super excited about either option, honestly!

#so I'm not inherently averse there's advantages to being free during normal white collar hours #the problem is that the holidays are coming up and while I'm not enthused about any of them I do have some plans #that maybe don't involve me being on a shift where I sleep until 4pm #the OTHER issue is I have besties on first and second shift but I'm not super close with overnights #and I won;t see ANYONE but overnighters pretty much #Overnight's more sparsely staffed and it's more likely I'll be left holding the bag #BESIDES ALL OF THAT this is temporary but there's no end in sight #if I accept I'll probably be on 7pm-4am for 4 months at BARE ASS MINIMUM and 6 isn't impossible #meanwhile if I rotate I'll only have 6 or 8 weeks of this shift in the same span #stop b think of the children
