It’s official–you can tell that the rest of your day is going to be hell when you wake up to a faceful of glitter. You fume silently, gritting your teeth as you stare at yourself in the mirror. Your hair is a snarled mess, and specks of shiny pink and gold are caught between the strands. You grip the sink.

Yuuta trudges glumly into the bathroom, then catches sight of you and freezes like a deer in headlights. “Y/N, you…uh…”

“If you say anything,” You snarl viciously. “It will be the last thing you say. Ever.”

“Right.” Yuuta agrees. “Right. My bad. You look fine. Definitely.” He catches sight of your glare, and backtracks. “I mean. Nothing to note about your appearance. Nope. Nuh-uh.” Clearly realising he’s simply digging his grave deeper, Yuuta makes a zipping motion over his mouth and begins to inch out of the bathroom. “I think I’ll just. Go now.”

You pay him no mind as he makes his escape, too busy examining the damage. You recognise this modus operandi: the colours are a dead giveaway.

Hinata.

You’re going to kill him. Then you pause. Objectively, your rage-fueled rampage would be cathartic. And it would also be interesting to witness. But it won’t do anything in the long run. It’s time, you think, to fight fire with fire.

It had taken you a while to come up with the perfect prank. In the end, you’d decided on a basic yet elegant prank–after all, you can’t go wrong with misflavoured foods!

Sitting on a tray in front of you was a lovely cream cheesecake, one that you’d stolen from the kitchens (the label read ‘Property of Oogami Koga–DO NOT TOUCH!! I’m looking at you, vampire bastard’ but you’d disregarded that in favour of what you deemed the greater good, aka restoring your lost dignity), except that it was filled with a concoction of your own making that you’d lovingly named ‘torture and insanity’.

Crushed jalapeños, melted fondue, soy sauce, and wasabi all mixed together to guarantee a disaster for whomever ate it.

“Hi, Y/N!” Hinata chirps, a grin on his face. Speak of the devil. Yuuta trails behind him, fidgeting anxiously with his hair. “Ooh, whatcha got there?”

“A smoothie,” You say flatly, taking a long sip from your strawberry smoothie. “Oh, and cake, I guess? I dunno. You can have it, if you want.”

“Don’t mind if I do~” Hinata rubs his hands together, pulling a fork out of his pockets. “You want some, Yuuta-kun?” Yuuta catches your eye, and you smile. He shudders and shakes his head. Hinata shrugs. “More for me, I guess.”

You wait patiently, and are rewarded with the sight of Hinata’s eyes bugging out of his head as the filling bursts onto his tongue. “Ew, ew, ew, gross! That’s gross, that’s awful!” He waves a hand over his tongue, as though exposing it to the air will get rid of the taste, then dives for your smoothie when that doesn’t work. You let him, because there was a reason you’d brought it in the first place.

“Serves you right,” You snap, over his desperate slurping. “You shouldn’t have pranked me first thing in the morning.”

“Pranked you?” Hinata says incredulously, face stained pink. “I didn’t prank you? I was going for Yuuta-kun and–oh, no… Yuuta-kun! Why didn’t you warn me?”

“He knew he’d rather stick with the superior pranker,” You declare, pleased as the cat that caught the canary.

“And you think I’d help you? Knowing what day today is?” Yuuta adds, sticking his tongue out.

“Meanies!” Hinata cries out. “You two are conspiring against me!”

“Nostalgic, am I right?” You grin, because the three of you hadn’t done a prank war in ages, ever since Vice Prez had sat you all down and told you, in no uncertain terms, that if you kept your pranking ways up, he’d have to take drastic measures. You tap the bracelet on your wrist, a symbol of your friendship. “Happy birthday, you two.”
