Thinking about luffy making aokiji/kuzan promise not to attack the strawhats (his crew) VS zoro making kuma promise not to lay a hand on 'strawhat' (luffy) and im ill again...
Once again, emphasizing on monkey d. (i will sacrifice myself to save everyone) luffy and roronoa (i will sacrifice myself to save you) zoro (More about this topic HERE)

OBSESSED with Zosan teaming up against the Foxy pirates. Like if they dont even realize how much better they work as a team what else are they fucking blind to?!👀
And then "lend me a hand for 10 seconds" "ok,seems reasonable" and they know thats all they need if they really work together ... I despise them fr

I understand now why anime watchers hate Long Ring Long Land so much. Like, it is hands down my least favorite arc, but the anime takes an arc that only has minor emotional hooks until you get to Aokiji and strips away half of them by removing all the casual violence.
They shot the horse, y'all. None of that net nonsense. And then everyone on shore during the race blatantly tried to kill Nami, Usopp, and Robin, and were stopped by the Monster Trio. The Foxy Pirates were doing their best to actually kill or steal the Strawhats, and because none of them took that seriously they almost lost Chopper for good.
Even if I don't really care for Long Ring Long Land, it's supposed to drive home that even games can't be taken lightly if you want to be a pirate. It's the point where the crew is at their most confident that it'll all work out, because it always has before. Hell, they just beat God! So they let their confidence rule them, let themselves believe that being a pirate doesn't carry that much risk at this point, and nearly lose it all because of a stupid, pointless game.
And just when they win, just when their misplaced confidence seems to have been rewarded- that is the exact moment Aokiji intervenes and shows them just how badly they've misjudged everything. He demolishes them with minimal effort, without even caring, and they survive on luck alone. Just to drive it home.
Canonically, this is the point where Luffy realizes he's been taking it too easy and he has to change things up a bit. Censoring the violence and adding filler before Aokiji shows up totally dilutes that tiny bit of substance this stupid arc has, and it's really pissing me off.

Thinking about skypiea and how much trust luffy put in his first mate, I'm ILL again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"With you here... ... How could this happen?!"
Luffy couldn't even fathom the idea of zoro failing to keep the rest of the crew safe, like the idea seemed pretty much unthinkable. So for luffy to see his first mate lying there, beaten up, and unconscious???
But even after Skypiea luffy never loses his trust in zoro and i think that's beautiful.
Like, we all know the SHC means everything to luffy. So trusting zoro with his nakama means so muchh, you don't understand-
1. Long Ring Long Land Arc

2. Post War Arc
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His nakama means the world to him, and luffy entrusts them to zoro the most (in 'certain' kind of situations), i'm just-

The list of absurd characters I have such dislike for in One Piece is growing
To clarify, I don’t mind meaningful absurdity. Like Buggy. Or Bon Clay. But these characters are just annoying and creepy and I hope they disappear forever.
Case 1. Ya know him. Ya hate him. The bitch who decided to steal 9 episodes or something for himself.
Tumblr media
Foxy this goddamn pain in the ass.
Case 2. Someone who had way too much run time in the Fishman Island arc.
Tumblr media
Goop ya creepy piece of shit. I think his name is Caribou but like. He’s Goop. Like look at him. Everything about him seems gross.
Case 3. THIS MOTHERFUCKING LITERAL BABY MAN CHILD WHO IS ANNOYING THE SHIT OUT OF ME CAN WE PLEASE MOVE ON I DO NOT NEED A BATTLE OF THE PERVERTS BETWEEN HIM AND FRANKY. FRANKY SHOULD HAVE BEATEN HIM BY NOW ISTG

Why is he called Señor Pink. What about him says Señor. Like please. No more.

I actually really like the Long Ring Long Land arc
(I feel like the general consensus is that it's not that well liked, but that could just be a few loud voices or something, still. Although, admittedly, the anime drags it on it's like two tomes in the manga, short and sweet)
Anyway, not only is it just goofy and fun, but it has some amazing character moments!! The development of some level of cooperation between Zoro and Sanji, first of all. And the Zoro-Chopper moment that demonstrated how Chopper looks up to Zoro, and provides some more insight into Zoro's character (I'm seeing a pattern, this maybe why I like it so much haha, my obsession with Zoro...)
(Also just like mini-rant that I might expand on: I feel like some people really brush over the more subtle development of Zoro's character?? Like that hasn't been the case for the other Straw Hat's, not even Luffy who is a bit more stagnant being the center heart of everything? Everyone of them has a deeper complexity, why do people like to act like that wouldn't be the case with Zoro as well? Anyway...)
Back to Long Ring, it creates more time for Robin to be with the crew (something absolutely crucial in my opinion as otherwise it would be Alabasta>Jaya/Skypeia>Water7 ie. only one (kinda two if we differentiate Jaya and Skypeia) full arc of her on the crew). Building her connection to the crew is important and something that takes time to feel impactful!! Anyway it gives the story some time to breath, something that is so important. Both to give more weight to the more impactful moments and to pace out the story.
I know some people out there are holding out that the Davy Back fight will be important story-wise later on, and, like, it totally could be! But also, I don't think the arc will become bad or a waste or something if it doesn't. It solidifies the importance of the crew, of working together and believing in each other, and highlights how Luffy has chosen his crew mates specifically (as in he takes the flag at the end, not another crew mate)
Honestly, it's just a good arc. It's funny and heartfelt, and I really like it!
