more revalink hcs from this post part 4
previous revalink hcs here: x x x
full disclosure i rearranged and took out some of the questions around because a handful of them were related to cooking/eating and it's like. what else can i say other than link is disaster gay who can cook and revali is disaster gay who can drive
who’s the first to wake up in the morning
if you've read the sleepy link x coddler revali fic, you know what's up but here's a quick recap:
at first it was link because of his insomnia, hypervigilance, or his nightmares, and it would end up waking revali up too, because revali is a light sleeper
but gradually, link relearns how to sleep in again, comforted by the warmth and steadiness of revali's embrace, and now revali is the one who wakes up first by default and he stays in bed with link cuddled up on his chest, admiring how soft and peaceful his beloved songbird is <3
who’s the one to make breakfast:
revali is the type of person who doesn't eat breakfast because he can't stomach food that early in the morning (i'm projecting again) and him and link wake up pretty early as per the previous concept
but link always makes him eat a little bit because he's a firm believer that breakfast is the most important meal of the day!
(in the future, link is the type to cook a big meal for every mealtime to sit down and eat with revali and their babies, because food is his love language 🥹)
who orders lunch
if link isn't around to make his food, it's revali
bitch would be living on that hellofresh shit if it weren't for link making their food all the time
could you imagine youtuber!revali doing a hellofresh sponsor
"yes, well, i suppose i should offer the proper gratitude for the sponsor of today's video, hellofresh. without my boyfriend or you, i might have starved to death and left the world one less god for its mortals to walk with."
who steals food from the other’s plate without asking
link LMFAO he's just a hungry little guy
"link, you have your own plate with twice the amount of servings on it."
"i cooked the food, i can eat whatever i want even if it's on your plate!"
revali is so soft for him though, he'll let link eat as much as he wants
revalink but they're the yoonkook moment where yoongi says watching jungkook eat makes him feel full
who cleans up the kitchen afterwards
revali cleans because he feels bad that he is a disaster in the kitchen and cannot help whatsoever during the actual creation of the meals; he is not allowed near the cooking pot 👍
will straight up snatch the plates from link's hands and insists on cleaning and link will smile at him fondly as revali aggressively scrubs the dishes
who curls up next to the other and falls asleep due to a full tummy
link for sure because he eats so fast and so much
revali will roll his eyes but continue eating as link snuggles into his lap for a quick food-induced power nap because revali will still make him get up to go take a shower and get ready for bed properly
who would suggest a quickie in the morning before work
LINK LMFAO WHO ELSE
he's already straddling revali's lap before revali can even register what link just said and then— oop. revali is going to be 30 minutes late to work now
who suggests they both ditch work to lay around all day
neither of them would actually because they both have really strong self-discipline
they only suggest ditching when they notice the other being really tired or burnt out, and then suddenly link is at the receptionist's desk at revali's workplace demanding they let revali go home early like he's a parent pulling their kid out of class for an appointment
who chooses the movies
revali hands down
he's the type of guy who took theatre, film history, movie analysis, and all those kinds of classes as general eds in college
he has a letterboxd account where he frequently updates his list of watched movies and heavily critical reviews. he's amassed a small cult following there because of how out of pocket-ly mean his reviews are 😭 to the point where people start using his reviews as memes KDJFHKDJHF
link is one of the people who use it as a meme and is the one that tells revali that he's a internet microcelebrity now. revali facepalms (but secretly his ego has been stroked)
who initiates kissing during the movie, thus distracting the other from the movie all together
both of them HAHA
it's mostly link, but if link chose the movie and revali's not into it, he'll start slowly making moves on link KJDHFKJD
"come on link, is the movie really more interesting than me~?"
"shh revali, singing killed his grandma 🥺🥺🥺🥺" KJDHFKDHFKDJHFKDJ
who distracts the other from trying to work at home
mostly link because he gets pretty needy
revali does it more often than you would expect though, they're almost equally very needy and clingy to each other
link just keeps barging into revali's office to the point where revali has to lock the door
then link is just sliding down to the floor against the door screaming the lyrics to Gotta go my own way from High school musical until revali unlocks the door again and begrudgingly lets link sit on his lap while he works
if it's revali, he will straight up just pick link up from his work even if link complains, carries link to their room to flop link on the bed, lie down on top of him, and then cuddle ❤️
who asks to go get ice cream like a five year old
it's absolutely link
if revali says no, link books it after the ice cream truck with revali yelling and running after him
revali pays for link's fucked up spongebob popsicle though 🥺 and link makes him get a fucked up patrick popsicle to match
revali also the type to be like "we have ice cream at home" only for link to respond with "nuh uh i ate it all"
revali: what? we had like 2 huge buckets of ice cream in the freezer. what do you mean you ate it all
link: 🥺
who takes pictures of their partner eating ice cream
revali. link made him take like 30 pics and post at least one on his instagram story
(revali keeps the other 29 pictures of link though in his folder of cute link pics to look at later)
who makes a sexual joke about the dripping ice cream on their partner’s face
you're not gonna believe this but it's revali
it slipped out he didn't actually mean to say it out loud
but link stares at him with wide eyes and mouth agape, then suddenly downs the rest of his ice cream, and then starts dragging revali home so he can jump him in the bedroom
link is just 😭 a horny little creature idk how revali keeps up with him
who stays up until 2 reading
it's revali, you know damn well he got those reading glasses and one of those lamps you clip onto the back of the book
he tried leaving the whole room light on at first but link was like i sleep in here too dickhead Close the damn light
the book-clip lamp was actually a gift from link because he did Not want revali to be contributing even more to their electricity bill
link has tried to join in but he's such a sleepy little guy he falls asleep with the book on his face and he felt bad (revali didn't really care but link was nearly gonna cry from being so guilty)
so instead, revali will read some of his own book aloud to link to make him feel involved until link falls asleep to his voice and also clinging to revali's side
who stares at their partner while their sleeping
revali of course but he doesn't do it in the creepy twilight edward way
when revali notices that link has fallen asleep to his reading, he'll put his bookmark in and set the book on the table to comb his fingers through link's hair
he just stares fondly at link, wondering how he was blessed to have a gift of a person like link because revali thinks of himself as a difficult person to love. how does link put up with him? why did link choose to stay with him? i guess he'll never know
(that's a lie; revali voiced these insecurities to him once and link got so mad he yelled at revali about how much he loved him and why, then locked himself in the office for the rest of the night only for revali to wake up the next morning to an entire powerpoint presentation from link on why revali is the most lovable person in the world)
who kisses their partner while they sleep
also revali but not in the creepy sleeping beauty way
revali is a big fan of forehead kisses especially because he's taller than link so he often likes to pull link closer and kiss his forehead before they leave for work or something
and he does the same as he's gazing upon link's sleeping face, wondering how he was blessed to have such an angel of a human being for a lover
revali will cup link's face with one hand and start with one kiss on link's forehead, a second one on his nose, and the last one being a very soft, chaste kiss on his lips he's just so soft for link y'all 😭🥹
one time link woke up during the second kiss but didn't open his eyes until revali kissed him on the mouth, and then immediately pushed revali onto the bed to kiss him back harder. like i said 😭 horny little creacher

Showgirls 1995 - (contains spoilers)
Tumblr media
This review may contain spoilers.
I think there's actually a good movie in here somewhere, buried underneath all the trappings of glamor, glitz, monkeys and profoundly weird yet somehow not hot pool sex. The first few times I saw this I only saw the camp, but on this viewing, I could see some meaning and light shining through in a cutting allegory about the cruelties and shallow nature of show business. Pretty cool! Granted my first two-ish viewings of the movie were on scrambled pay-per-view I didn't pay for when I was a teen in the 90's 😂. Ah, memories! 😄🥰
But Nomi and Cristal are *the ship.* Too bad everytime she had the chance to shoot her shot, Cristal put her foot in her mouth. We all get awkward around our crushes. :/. Oh for the version with a Nomi/Cristal love story...it would bode terribly for all the villains in this Vegas showbiz world if those two joined forces, as well!
"Bad acting" blah blah blah, "unlikeable character" WHATEVER. To *you*! I find Nomi delightful. She's obviously endured trauma and come out rattled in some very jarring ways. I loved how she stayed true to herself and found something like a good person beneath her own selfish ambitions, much like the movie itself has some hidden layers if you care to look. If you don't, it's still entertaining and fun for the extreme camp!
I was in a very sad mood today and this movie cheered me up, which is honestly the nicest thing you can really say about a film. Also, it's in the Criterion Collection now, ya hear? Fuck dem haters. 🥰
Also, Elizabeth Berkley is a queen, idk what anyone says. She's fearless in this!

i am a ghost i am a small i aaaaaa i like lab rats i dont interact much to
chase headcanons for the soul? per favore?
teehee <3 u didnt specify what kinddd so i went haywire lol
!
I’VE SAID THIS BEFORE but he has a letterboxd where he reviews every movie in terms of how realistic/plausible the science in it is. he has a lot of followers because people think its a bit. it is not
he’s watched the mandalorian 284784th times.. its his comfort show. whenever he’s stressed he goes home and puts it on
he’s allergic to fur but that doesn’t stop him from longingly gazing at animals through pet shop windows
doesn’t like eating out. he’ll absolutely do it for a date, but by himself? nah. he’s a genius, he can cook up those recipes 100% better than any chef can, and he knows it.
not that he does tho. he lives off of sandwiches and protein bars
he loves capybaras. if he had a tiktok his fyp would be science vids, robotics & capybaras
his music taste is mostly classical (canon) but i also think he’d enjoy classic rock. i think he found a love for it after he formed a band with adam and marcus.
he does have a few pop guilty pleasures though. will never admit it.
<3
he is absolutely a hopeless romantic. doesn’t want to admit it, but he is whipped for whoever he’s with. all of their dates must be perfectly planned and over the top romantic. i’m talking lady and the tramping some spaghetti over candlelight.
he’s definitely done a lot of astronomy themed dates! stargazing, going to those light show auditoriums, etc.
total cuddle bug. before he got with his s/o he spent most of his downtime in the lab. but now, most of his free time is spent under the covers with them, clinging to them like a koala, grunting grumpily whenever they try to maneuver themselves out of bed
i think his love languages are words of affirmation, physical touch & gift giving all combined. he thrives off of praise, loves hearing confirmation that they love him. he loves spending all of his free time cuddling them, even just holding their hand in public spaces is enough to make him dizzy. but, i also think he’d love giving them gifts, especially ones he’s made in the lab himself. it’s little tokens of his appreciation.
his lockscreen, computer desktop and twitter banner are absolutely all pictures of his s/o
tbh he probably carries around a photo of them in his wallet
i think he has trouble verbally asking for physical affection, but not at all asking for it physically. making grabby hands until they hug him. putting his entire body weight on them when they’re lying on the couch. slouching his body onto theirs while they’re making a snack in the kitchen. forcing his face into the palm of their hand.
etc etc!! i could literally talk about chase for hours. he’s my princess <3

I always see your name in cine posts on fb. haha. I bet you have good choices in movies too. What ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ film/s will you recommend for starters? Also do you have letterboxd? Thankss
ahahaha puro movie stuff laman ng feed ko e anyways, I'll give you seven movie titles. I don't want to give a brief explanation of any movies because I'll probably spoil all of them. I'll just drop some sentences that can define the movie itself. hahaha
Spiderwick chronicles, 2008 (this is my first ever favorite movie I'll probably make a post about it soon)
Edward Scissorhands, 1990 (We love Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder)
Dreams, 1990 (dreams are my reality the only kind of real fantasy)
The lobster, 2015 (Weird movie mah boi just wants to be a lobster hahaha)
I origins, 2014 (i will see you in the next life)
The curious case of benjamin button, 2008 (Basta hahaha)
Leon the Professional, 1994 (this is from Padme Amidala hahaha)
Those are some family-friendly movies, and good for starters. But if you want some heavy stuff that can give you an existential crisis and make you question everything, you can just ask me again. I'll definitely give you a lot of lists hahah. Anyways, I recommend watching those in order, starting from 1 to 7, kung gusto mo per weather e pag maulan maganda panooren yung movies 1, 2, and 3, pag madalaing araw naman yung 4, 5, and 6, pag umaga tapos kagigising mo lang maganda panoorin yung movie number 7 ahahaha, Nga pla I deactivated my leterboxd account a few weeks ago because I was so embarrassed when I saw my past cringey reviews that I wrote throughout the years aahahah. But I did make a new one, but for now, it doesn't contain anything. That's why I have no guts on sharing my account for now. I just want to add some acceptable reviews to my new account for some time before I share it publicly. That's why I'll probably edit this and drop my account to this post when I'm done;)

Suzume is Easily the Greatest Film I Have Ever Seen.
This is our generation’s FLCL. Cutting-edge animation that captures the spirit of our time and rebels against conventions and the chains that come with them. A 50 wallpapers per second anime tiktok compilation that fuses all genres with total sincerity and a touch of satire. It is hilarious, ridiculous, wholesome, inspiring, breathtaking, heart-pounding, explosive, quiet, real, intimate, touching, frightening, relieving and ultimately healing, grounding and resounding.
I am entertained and fascinated by the film long after its conclusion. There is so much to think about and disect. Every scene is dense with meaning and emotionally distinct to the point of shifting from genre to genre, and each of those moods is so well executed, it is all so moving every step of the way. I was laughing at a romantic scene with a talking chair, and then completely bought into his character the next.
WE NEED TO KEEP OUR EMOTIONS ON AND OUR EYES OPEN AND EMBRACE OURSELVES AND ONE ANOTHER TO MOVE FORWARD!!!!!
So powerful, moving, and modern, I just have to give my letterboxd review here, despite being a gaming blog.

THE NORTHMAN | FILM REVIEW
THE NORTHMAN (2022) ★★★★
Action/Historical, 2h 17m
Dir. Robert Eggers
Cast: Alexander Skarsgård, Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicole Kidman, Claes Bang, Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe & others
Summary:
Prince Amleth is on the verge of becoming a man when his father is brutally murdered by his uncle, who kidnaps the boy’s mother. Two decades later, Amleth is now a Viking who’s on a mission to save his mother, kill his uncle and avenge his father. (Letterboxd)
Tumblr media
My review (spoiler-free):
Robert Eggers is back with his third feature film and he does not disappoint. Bringing back familiar faces such as Anya Taylor-Joy and Willem Dafoe, he manages to create a film that perfectly fits his oeuvre yet seems a lot more appropriate for wider audiences.
The Northman takes a little bit of the creepy weirdness of The Lighthouse and some of the historical mystery of The Witch and combines it into a perfectly crafted Vikings film that is easy to identify with Eggers’ style. It doesn’t shy away from uneasy scenes and horrifying murders but still leaves room for important character development and relationships. Many scenes were predictable but that didn’t take much away from the overall enjoyment. As per usual with Eggers’ work, the sound and cinematography really carry the film and elevate the experience to the max.
Personally, I wish it had been even weirder but I appreciated that there was more plot than with his previous two films as it makes it more enjoyable for the casual film viewer. The ending also was his weakest yet but it still suited the main character so I’m not too upset about that. Overall, I’d recommend this to any fan of adventurous historical films, especially ones set in Viking times. Gorgeous film beginning to end with the ability to make your skin crawl from time to time.

Reflective Blog (CMNS201)
For the sake of this assignment, I went back to my Media Audience blog post and the critique I got in my evaluation. As it was early in the course and I was focused on making progress, I overlooked the deeper meaning in what I was writing as it pertained to the course. As per the tutor’s thoughts, I was missing the importance of my role as a prosumer in media. A prosumer is someone who can act as a consumer, producer and distributor of media rather than taking a position as being “passive receptacles of media” (Klein, 2017). I spend a fair share of time as an audience to film and feel very passionately about it, which drives me to write about my thoughts through apps like Letterboxd. I take the time to write my reviews, reference external influences of my thoughts, and promote the films that I believe people should see and enjoy. As a consumer, I pay for a subscription to this app that allows me aesthetic benefits and ad removal for my experience with the app and can imply a bit of prestige for other users who look through my account (Savage, 2014). Letterboxd then has my money to improve user experience and pay staff, but the data they collect from myself and all users is free to them and increases their profit as well.
A concern I outline in my blog post is the impact of targeted media and advertisements online that can lead to an echo chamber of ideologies and impact mental health as well. I focused on the internet in expressing my concern for audiences, but this extends further to traditional media and examples of media convergence as well. Gasher et al., (2016) touch on the anomaly of cultural products and how audiences are exposed to cultural products and hidden advertisements because those with a vested interest can control things like what is advertised, and the costs associated with them. This is important to my previous argument because similar to how people experience curated online, people have always chosen what shows, movies, newspapers and more that they invest their time into. For example, if someone is tuning into the same show each week, whether broadcasted or through streaming, they could be influenced by the intentions of those with vested interests over time. It sheds light on the importance of diverse programming and voices in media, to break up the penetration of single influences and ideologies.
This ties into the important topic how media is regulated with the audience in mind, whether that be traditional media or new media. In a Canadian context, the CRTC has struggled at length with improving legislation as technology and media have rapidly evolved (Shtern & Blake, 2014). Not everyone agrees that the CRTC is always necessary in holding power over broadcasting and telecommunications, but that overlooks the impact of allowing media concentration (specifically vertical integration) to dominate the market more than it already does (Shtern & Blake, 2014). Despite the intervention of regulatory bodies, there are still many issues such as the “lack of ownership diversity, leading to a situation in which four major companies exercise considerable control over Canada’s broadcast and telecom systems” (Shtern & Blake, 2014, p. 94). This means that audience members have to exercise more critical thinking and consideration of the media they consume, but also that platforms online that allow diverse voices are more important than ever.

Similar to Jordan Peele’s game-changing film Get Out (2017), Us (2019) is another all-time favorite of mine. I probably sound like a broken record at this point, but I feel the need to reiterate: Lupita Nyong’o deserved an Academy Award! Her monologue remains one of the best I have ever seen. Toni Collette's Heredity (2018) performance was also overlooked. The Academy just overlooks horror performances in general–what a shame, they are some of the best. Nonetheless, this unjust neglect of a nomination for Lupita had me researching how to join The Academy so I could try to right this epic wrong. I even debated taking up figurine carving to make her the award myself.
Back to Jordan Peele’s talent: Get Out was extremely successful in its symbolic direction, and Peele’s second film carries this success forward. My favorite metaphor relates to the neglect of wealthy individuals to acknowledge the suffering of lower-class people that aided in their reaching such a high status. I hesitate to admit that it took my third watch of the film to recognize the inclusion of the message. I even further hesitate to grasp that it took my reading of a Letterboxd review of the film to FULLY understand it. Hence the consistent opinion that Us takes a higher level of awareness to comprehend, which, of course, is not a bad thing. If anything, it makes watching the film and picking up on the metaphors more rewarding in the end.
Nonetheless, this lack of suffering acknowledgment is explored, and the Wilsons are forced to acknowledge the suffering of their tethered family. The lives that they are forced to live in order to further the well-offness of the Wilson’s is heartbreaking. You cannot help but feel a similar unhappiness upon remembering that they are only one family of the ~hundreds, thousand, millions? of families that lead similar lives under the surface. All in hopes that the surface families can prosper. This unpleasant feeling only amplifies when you realize that this resembles the real-life exploitation that must occur to further the wealth of individuals in the highest economic classes. You really can’t blame individuals for snapping, especially those who are living in a society that is actively rooting against them.
Although I neglected to comprehend this symbolism on my first few watches, it has become my favorite element of the film. I think Peele did a phenomenal job, per usual. As all horror fans likely relate, I look forward to breaking down the symbolism in Peele’s next film–it is currently cited to have a 2024 release date, can’t wait!

i'm creating a Letterboxd list of the Christmas movies i'm watching this year. like with my Halloween list, i'm going to be writing a review of the movie in the notes of the list. if you're looking for Christmas movie recommendations, or if you just want to read reviews of Christmas movies, then it'd be neat if you checked out the list. so far, i've watched a bad Hallmark/Hallmark-esque Christmas movie, as per the suggestion of underrated YouTuber Willie Muse. that said, i plan on watching some actually good Christmas movies too.
also please take a moment to appreciate the title of the list; it's supposed to be like the title of a dogshit Hallmark movie.

A simple entry for a simple man - Writing Challenge - Day 7
Not really much of an entry for today, tbh.
Yesterday, I wrote a movie review for the film Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves over on my Letterboxd account and counted that as writing something for the day. Probably gonna keep that up in general. The writing might not always go on here specifically but as long as I'm writing something, per day, I'll keep the habit up. Dil also came over to watch Arcane and Jujutsu Kaisen and just hang out and I was having a very good time and the evening got away from me. Things happen.
The D&D movie was fine, by the way. Not hyper-impressive but not overall the worst thing in the world. I was excited to see so many practical effects in a world that is becoming so bloated with CG in everything all the time. And they were cool-as-hell practical effects too, especially the Aarakocra council member in the beginning and the Tabaxi mother and child in the fish scene. I was genuinely excited to see that stuff in a movie like this. Main issues with this one (and I suppose movies these days in general) was the dialogue. SO MUCH MCU/WHEDON dialogue in this one, folks. Just like all over the whole damn thing. It's really grating to me when it happens and I know it's SUCH a thing these days to just complain about it but it really does take me out of the moment entirely whenever it happens. Why does every scene have to be undercut by a joke these days? Why can't we just let a scene play out and have the emotional impact that it should? Or even just let jokes land naturally? One of the worst I've seen was a scene where the party was journeying into the Underdark to do something and they come across a small group of Intellect Devourers, small brain-like creatures that eat your mind. They are more prone to attack people when they can sense higher intelligence and the higher one's intelligence is, the more likely they are to attack. Predictably, the creatures walk right by the party without attacking. Funny joke. Naturally delivered punchline. Nothing else needed. And then Ed, Chris Pine's character, says, out loud, AFTER THE PUNCHLINE HAS BEEN EFFECTIVELY DELIVERED: "Just seems hurtful." Completely unnecessary. Innocuous? Sure. Should I be getting worked-up about it? No. But I'm gonna anyway because it's just so annoying and happens all the time forever now. Whatever. Not pissed, just really mad.
I'll end this one here for now. I'm gonna try to watch a new movie tomorrow. One of the things I've been trying to do recently is watch more NEW movies, not just my comfort ones that I've seen a million times. Don't really know what's on most of my lists but I'll see what it is and actually attempt to watch it for realsies. I always tell myself I'm going to watch something new and then I don't and everything I've been meaning to watch just wastes away on some list forever while I watch The Mummy or some shit for the 1000th time. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just that I want to see more new stuff, especially something that may have come out recently. Might just watch They Cloned Tyrone, which I've been meaning to get to since the day it released.
Or who knows. I may just watch Dune again.
58 days to go.
