what is with men being mad any time a woman raises her voice where did that even come from. someone posted a video of a small electrical explosion, and the top comment was of course the woman screams. the second comment is women try not to scream challenge, level impossible. i had to go back and watch the video again. there is, somewhat fainty, a little gasp emitted off-camera, more of a yelp than a scream. it is mostly lost in the crack of the explosion. afterwards, you hear her voice, shaken, say, are you okay?
i am helping one of my friends train her voice pitch lower, because she wants to be taken seriously at work. she and i do each other's nails and talk about gender roles; and how - due to our appearance - neither of us have ever been able to be "hysterical" in public. we both appear young and sweet and feminine. she is cisgender, and cannot use her natural voice in her profession because people keep saying she appears to be "vapid". we both try to figure out if our purposeful voice lowering is technically sexist. is it promoting something when you are a victim to it?
a storm almost sends a pole through a car window. in the dashcam, you can hear the woman passenger say her partner's name twice, crying out in alarm. she sounds terrified. in the comments, she is lambasted for her lack of calm. how is that even fucking helping?
in high school, i taught myself to have a lower voice. i had been recorded when i was genuinely (and righteously) upset; and i hated how my voice sounded on the phone speakers when it was played back. i was defending my mom, and my voice cracked with emotion. it meant i was no longer winning the argument: i was just shrieking about it.
girls meet each other after a long summer and let out a little joyful scream. this usually stops around 12-14, because people will not tolerate this display of affection (as it has the effect of being passingly annoying). something about the fact that little girls can't ever even be annoying. we are trained to examine each part of our lives (even joy) for anything that could make us upsetting and disgusting. they act like teenage girls are breaking into houses and shrieking you awake at 3 in the morning. speaking as a public school educator: trust me, it's not that bad, you can just roll your eyes and move on. it does not compare to the ways boys end up being annoying: slurs in graffiti, purposefully mocking your body, following you after you said no. you know, just boy things.
there's another video of a man who is not allowed to yell in the house, so he snaps his fingers when he's excited about soccer. the comments are full of angry men, talking about how their brother is unfairly caged. let him express himself and this is terrible to do to someone. eventually the couple has to address it in a second video: they are married with a newborn baby. he was trying not to wake the infant up. there is no comment on the fact women are not allowed to yell indoors. or the fact that it could have been really alarming or triggering for his wife. sometimes i wonder if straight men even like women, if they even enjoy being in relationships with them.
for the longest time, i hated roller coasters because it always felt inappropriate and uncomfortable for me to scream. one of my friends called me on it, said it was unusual i'm so unwilling. i had to go to my therapist about it. i don't like to scream because i was not raised in a safe situation, and raising my voice would have brought unsafe attention towards me. even when i am supposed to scream, it feels shameful, guilty. i was not treated kindly, so i lack a basic form of self-protection. this is not a natural response. it is not good that in a situation of high adrenaline - i shut up about it.
something very bad is happening, i think. in between all the beauty standards and the stuff i've already discussed - this one feels new and cruel in a way i can't quite express. yes, it's scary and silencing. but there's something about how direct it is - that so many men agree with the sentiment that women should never yell, even in an emergency - it feels different.
is the word shriek gendered automatically? how about shrill or screech? in self defense class, one of the first things they tell you is to yell, as loud and as shrilly as you can. they say it will feel rude. most women will not do this. you need to practice overcoming the social pressure and just scream.
most women do not cry out, even when it's bad. we do not report it. we walk faster. we do not make a scene. what would be the point of doing anything else? no matter what we do, we don't get taken seriously. it is a joke to them. an instagram caption punchline. we have to present ourselves as silent, beautiful, captivating - "valuable."
a woman is outside watching her kids when someone throws a firecracker at them. she screams and runs towards her children. in the comments, grown men flock together in the thousands: god. women are so annoying.

i might get some hate for this depending on where this post goes but i think lesboys are so valid and the discourse about them is so ridiculous. like you guys shouldn't have to deal with all that and it frustrates me that people throw hissy fits over an identity that literally does not affect them at all.
"but men cant be lesbians-" wrong. butch lesbians and trans men have a really closely connected history with each other that practically intersects and you should really do some research on that before you make blanket statements, not to mention that gender and sexuality is weird and wobbly and fluid and a very personal experience. it means a different thing to each person. being a man can be something completely different and saying stuff like this ignores people like demiboys, demigirls, genderfluid and genderflux people etc. these people will really preach "demolish the gender binary!! love is love!!" until someone's relationship with gender and sexuality is a little too freaky for them to handle and be challenged by lmaoo
"ohhh but what about the cishet men who say they're lesbians to prey on women-" YEAH WHAT ABOUT THEM????? THIS AIN'T ABOUT THEM BRO!!!!! this argument also REEKS of terfy "trans women are just predatory men!!!111!!1" rhetoric and it grosses me out. yeah some men are gross and do try to pull this but that does not negate someone's entire identity completely just because of a few bad actors, you know that right? actual black and white behaviour.
queer discourse is silly and i don't know why it's a thing. just let people exist. it isn't that hard. we have worse things to worry about than whether someone calls themselves a lesboy or not. i think we need to unplug our ears and yank our heads out of the sand and remember that the queer community is what it is because of our unique and amazing diversity. arguing over labels like school children isn't gonna help that. damn.

Ride 742: Sudden death match!!
Pag 1
1: Woah, Danchiku, oh-
And Sugimoto-san too!?
2: They passed us so quickly!! Such high pace!!
Huh!?
They're doing some sort of serious race!?
3: I get it
4: I can feel it
5: This guy....!!
Pag 2
1: He's not giving up at all!!
Pag 3
3: Earlier, at the line, I thought I had won this race
I thought he was far behind me and would cross the line with his head hanging down
4: And yet....
Pag 4
1: He caught up to me....!!
2: The preliminary of this race was already done on the “second day”!!
3: That time, the result
5: was a draw!!
6: So it would be better to have a more precise result, wouldn't it
We'll decide it with this lap!! The rules are simple: the starting point line is 4km from here, the one who crosses it first wins!!
7: And then the loser shouldn't “surpass” the winner anymore!! Sugimoto-san!!
Pag 5
1: Imaizumi-san too!!
2: …. yeah
It's better to make it clear with a proper race like this
3: So you have no regrets....!!
4: Let's go!!
5: Crush him, Danchiku!!
Pag 6
2: At the same time....!!
Ah.... “at the same time” again!?
3: Seriously!?
Are you being for real, Sadatoki!?
Pag 7
1: You're just seeing things as you wish they were, since he's your brother!!
Oon!! No that's not it, on!!
It's true, Kaburagi, I saw it too
2: They arrived at the same time, Sugimoto stretched at the last moment
3: Kawada!!
It's “san”!!
4: Are you an accomplice too!!
What are you talkin abut
5: A- amazing, Sugimoto-kun
6: Amazing!!
Pag 8
1: “Amazing”, huh, Onoda
2: Imaizumi-kun....
Pfui
3: You thought Sugimoto would win? ….This race
Huh
4: You didn't think he would, that's why when we heard the results you could say “amazing”
Ah!!
5: I'm- I'm sorry Sugimoto-kun!! I didn't believe in you, even though you worked so hard....!!
Who are you yelling at
6: Me too
Pag 9
2: During these past four days.... Sugimoto worked hard, but, after their race on the second day and after seeing how remarkably stronger Danchiku has gotten
3: When they decided to do another race, I thought Sugimoto would definitely lose
4: Then, when the time came
5: If you lose, you feel better if you gave it your all, so
6: “So you have no regrets”
7: I said that
But
8: He turned it around
Sugimoto really is amazing
Pag 10
1: Even with no one believing in him, with only his own strength, he snatched a “draw” against Danchiku!!
Pag 11
1: Keep going!! Let's keep going with the race, Danchiku!!
2: Even though he's having such an hard time, he's still following me!!
3: Since earlier I've increased the pace many times
4: Garuaaa
Even if I tear him off
Pag 12
1: Every time
2: While saying
3: “Kuaa kuaa”
“Kuaa kuaa”
5: Kuaaa-
6: Kuaaaaaaa
He catches up to me
Pag 13
2: You keep following me....
3: No....
4: You're the one who said “please follow me”, Danchiku
Pag 14
1: Garuaaa!!
2: Ahhhh
Don't make fun of me, there's no way!!
3: Aaaaaaaa
4: Hiigaruaaaa!!
There's no way I'll lose!!
Pag 15
1: To Sugimoto-san!!
4: I was careless – I was careless and that's why he caught up to me!! The second time too!!
I won't be careless this time!!
Pag 16
1: Ill take a plunge firmly, throw my handles, and cross the line
2: At full throttle!!
The last curve!!
3: He's not following me anymore!! He's....
Pag 17
1: He's here!!
Cough cough
2: Kuaaaa
We're entering the final sprint!!
3: Dammit, this guy is gonna stretch from here!!
4: Hiigaruaaaaa!!
Take a plunge!!
5: Take a plunge!!
Pag 18
1: Throw your handles!!
Pag 19
1: Wooooah!!
No... wait, even now....
2: It's a draw!!
Ya!!
On!!
Woah
3: Dammit, what happened, Danchiku what are you doin!!
You should be much stronger..... should....
Pag 20
1: Don't tell me.... that Sugimoto-san.... is strong too!?
2: You.... you mean it's a draw for the third time!!
How long will they keep going, at this pace it won't ever end!!
3: …. no
5: It's a shame, but there's no time left...
6: This lap is the last

i think no matter the outcome we all have a important lesson to learn from this weeks, especially with the inniters and the "behind scenes" ccs. I've been talking with My mom about this, and she Say some things that i said on wildpeachfarm blog but also this question "why are You making yourself so Much trouble for others problems" and i think this it's actually pretty true. Some not only want to take other's problem as their's but also we air our's like they're others problem. Dream dm mrs Simons and she found it annoying and she decides to tell us as if its our trouble but it isn't, it's her's and dream's. Why we should Even have reaction to their personal problems? Unless a violent crime was comminted or confessed why we should care? They're strangers to us, i get telling your close Friends but us? We are nothing but a numbers to them why? These ccs thing their problems are also us and that's our fault too. We always give them attention and make a problems out of things that are petty drama bewteen groups or individuals. If a violent crime or someone it's dangerous i get telling us bc it's important to know when someone it's a one of those two things but unless that's the case why we should care? And this is something i have done too. Those "behind the scenes" are fucking stupid If it's things like mrs Simons. Being annoying on dms it's not a crime or dangerous, we don't care we don't know You, we aren't your friends, it's not our duty to do something with strangers personal problems. So when the next cc comes foward talking about personal experiences that it's just harmsless stupidity or just two people not getting along or just someone who was being a dick on dms just ignore. Unless it's serial dangerous person or criminal we should not care that much about strangers problems
Sorry if it's too long
agreed! i think we do give a lot of power to the drama by reacting to it every time, but i also understand why people struggle to ignore it- it's natural to want answers, but we aren't owed them. if there was no more news from this situation from this day forward, we'd all just have to come to our own conclusions, and we'd need to be okay with the uncertainty. we don't owe either side anything

homelander didnt wanna kill marie tho and thats made pretty clear.
she was unconscious for x amount of hours or days and woke up in a vought facility. what makes u think he wouldnt have just torn her apart limb by limb with his bare hands in that whole time she was out?
marie can be cut with a simple switch blade. his strength would be more than enough to make up for heat resistance.
shes one of five confirmed people to survive his laser so thats not really as big a deal as some are making it.
but there is someone people keep forgetting that is probably the real reason shes being kept alive.
neuman.
homelander is working with neuman. but neuman is probably hyper aware that her and marie arent stronger than him and she is probably keeping some things from him too.
what do u think the supe virus to control them that neuman took was for?
okay aside from the fact that it was already confirmed by the writers in an interview that homelander was shooting to kill and marie survived (seen below), i think it was very clear in that moment that homelander wanted to kill marie when he lasered her. from the language and manner of speaking he used when he was addressing marie, to him being very visibly angry, especially after he saw cate’s popped off arm, it seemed as if he had perceived marie as the threat that he was called to take down.
and even without the writers saying it, andre literally said she “took that blast like a fucking champ, anyone else would be in the ground.” to me, that’s confirmation enough that marie survived homelander’s full blast on her own, not bc he toned it down.
(here’s the part of the interview)
and okay, after marie survived the blast that was meant to kill her, i can see then homelander wanting to spare her, if only so that he could control her. that kind of power is as useful as it is dangerous, so idk that he would immediately jump to tearing her limb by limb. but even that is just a theory bc we literally don’t know ANYTHING about what happened immediately following the laser. we don’t know how or who, specifically, is responsible for marie and co. ending up in a vought prison, or if it even is vought’s doing (mind prison theory is still possible imo.)
we don’t even know for sure if the reason marie survived the blast was even because of enhanced strength/endurance. there’s literally SO much of her power left to explore that we don’t know about yet. and it was being hinted at constantly throughout this season that marie is far more powerful than meets the eye, so i don’t think it’s fair to say for sure that marie is weaker than homelander. also, being 1 of 5 confirmed supes to survive his blast out of thousands of supes is still pretty impressive to me.
as for the stuff about neuman, i agree to an extent, it was one of my first theories after watching the finale that she was gonna be involved somehow, but i don’t necessarily believe it’s the reason they are all still alive (unless neuman is the one who has them currently). i def think she’ll play a huge part in what happens to the four, and even with her working with homelander, i’m sure she definitely has her own agenda.
