well here we go

my last adventure time liveblog, i havent actually done one of these in MANY years... probably not since 2014

you probably have a bit too much in common with your mother, and i imagine it isn’t easy being turned into a kid and not being able to do stuff that came so easy. you’re disappointing yourself! (he’s literally disappointing himself)

I’m less than halfway through the special, what the fuck. I wasn’t wrong when I said Wizard City had a lot on its plate. It’s noit that I’ve been particularly gripped up to this point, though to be fair I didn’t pause at all during the other specials barring Obsidian.

okay, it’s over :)

first thoughts out of the way: not a big fan of this special. it’s like watching a completely different show. it’s not got the PZSHAHH of the normal wizard city stuff and there weren’t a lot of funny jokes or even hearty moments in the thing.

it suffers from a lack of invested character interactions, much like BMO did. there was not a single main cast member in the whole thing! and like i said before, much of peppermint butler’s character in the show is based on his very sweet relationship to his mother, princess bubblegum, so when they showed a single (hilarious) photo of them together it made me sad we didn’t get any scenes with them together. it would have STOLEN this episode. and they teased the hunson golf photo, and death!!! and jake appeared in a photo T_T last jake appearance.

it also suffers because Peppermint Butler is clearly not himself, imo he was way more entertaining in the Together Again special, where we seem him back to his “normal” self.

i dont think peps being a dark wizard was something to “kill off” exactly. i wonder what was going on there? was that actually peps, or was that a spirit he cursed himself with based on himself? we at least know in the future he does become a dark wizard again, and even princess :) this special didn’t answer those questions but lol.

THE GOOD STUFF, because yes, there was a lot of good stuff!

God, I’m with Aracle and Maya on this - I LOVE Cadebra and her relationship to Pep. I wish she was even in more of this - I would love to watch the adventures of Cadebra and Pepbut in their first year of school, like in the end credits.

That, imo, is where the heart of the special lay - Peppermint Butler’s attempts to impress himself, versus Cadebra’s self acceptance and desire to follow her dreams of being a goofy goober, no matter what other people thought of her.

It turned out that Cadebra is a responsible student and family member. I really liked that. Her scenes with Abracadaniel were, somehow, my favourite in the entire special!

I like that theres a lot of cool magic towards the end of this special, and a lot of HORRIFYING DEATH. It wouldn’t be adventure time if you didn’t randomly kill off child characters. Poor Spader, I hated you but damn, what a grim fate.

I like that Bufo and Caledonius had this crush/hatred thing going on, but they were part of the same cult in the end.

I didn’t like the giant peps scene at the end, the monster was extremely milquetoast compared to the madness we usually get in AT. Obsidian, for example, had the awesome Larvo design. Nemesis had some INSANE dark magic!!!! I wish they drew more from that episode.

Considering how much Steve Little appears in this special, I do feel bad for Mace (little Peps). He said he would have really benefitted from coaching, but recieved none. He had to re-record his lines 3 times! Judging from his description of events, Wizard City was a hard time for him.

The wizard school did remind me, heavily, of both The Owl House and OK KO. Personally I was hoping AT would offer me something more insane, but I do love both of those shows, and I know Wizard City was on a really tight schedule.

I think they should have spent less time on the school bullying plot, and skipped straight to MURDER.

We did have a cold opening, not on par with Together Again’s at all, but damn!

I am wondering where I would put this in the watch list? I do think it should sit after Obsidian as the third special. The intro scene makes it clear this takes place at the same time as Obsidian!!!

Well, that was it, the last ep of AT for the next few years at least T_T

i think together again was the better finale, definitely. but wizard city feels pretty detached from AT for me, despite the familiar characters it tonally isn’t like the show other than the awesome brutal death scenes. I thought the last 11 minutes was easily the best in the special! Which, honestly, is how it should be, though I do wish it gripped me more. Maybe I’m just not the target audience for Wizard City? It feels like something I would find very compelling if I was a bit younger!

The Mandalorian X Son! Male Reader

|| Masterlist ||

Summary: Din has a fourteen year old son, related by blood while the second one is adopted. They run into some trouble and reader saves the day.

Warnings: Plain fluff, badass reader, Langauge.

“He’s doing it again.” Said Y/n.

Din turns around in his pilot seat to see the child moving the floating silver knob in their air. Y/n was sitting opposite from the child, watching him closely with a small smile on his face. “If he’s doing it again than stop him before he decides to do anything else, last time he nearly destroyed my control panel.” Y/n rolls his eyes dramatically as he reaches out to take the knob from him. “He’s not doing anything wrong and you know he cant control it.” He reminds his father.

Thats right, Din Djarin; the great mandalorian was a father to a fourteen year old stubborn brat. He raised him from a young age and was slowly setting into the life of a mandalorian. Y/n wore his own helmet and beskar armor and since the two are related by blood they were both allowed to see each other’s faces. Din was glad to have that opportunity, he didn’t want his own sons life ot be waisted away with him growing up and never seeing each other’s faces.

Right now, y/n was sitting across the child with his helmet off. Lying on the ground as he reaches out to take the kid in his arms. “Hey little brother” he cooes out. Now that the kid is a part of their family both y/n and Din hadn’t come up with a name for the child so in the mean time y/n would call him ‘little brother’ accepting him into the family.

“Stop spoiling him.”

“I don’t spoil him.” Y/n shot back with a pout on his face.

Din turns around to face the two, his head cocking to the side. “Then explain that—“he points over to the child’s chair that contained two small stuffed frogs. A yellow and purple one. Y/n glances at the stuffed frogs and then back at din. “Umm, he convinced me to buy them?”

Din frowns under his helmet. Y/n groans in frustration, sensing his fathers glare. “Okay! Fine I do spoil him it come on! Look at him, he’s too adorable to resist!” He holds the child out for his father to see. “Look into his eyes and tell me he’s not adorable.” He was shoving the small green child into his fathers face. “Tell me!”

“Alright, alright I get it!” Din calls out and laughs at his own son. “Just stop wasting credits, we needs those for fuel and food.” He reminds the teenager before turning back around to control the ship.

“Okay, fine I won’t spend anymore credits on the little womp rat.” He sets the kid back in his seat. He grabs his helmet and slips it over his own head, hearing his father turn on some switches. “Will be landing somewhere soon.”

“Where?” Y/n moves closer to take a look at their location. “Sorgon?” His voice sounded confused as to why they are returning back to that planet. “The last time we were their we stayed in a small farming village, then we left. Why are we coming back?”

“It’s the closest planet to the area and we need proper rest. I’ll find a job and make sure that we get the credits that we need since you spent half of them.”

“I feel attacked.” Y/n placed a hand over his heart as he whines. “I thought I was gonna help this time?”

“Not today.” Din takes them down to sorgon, flying over the planet as he finds them a perfect spot to land. It was closer to the village, y/n could see a few people roaming around the area. He raises a brow and scans the area, “Dad—“

“Don’t leave the ship you understand?” Said Din.

Y/n watched his father stand up and make his way out of the cockpit, but before he could climb down the ladder he turns to face his son. “Stay here where you are safe and keep the kid safe, got it?” The teenager nods in reply, he approaches his dad and stands on his toes. Pressing his own helmet against his fathers as he sighs. Please he safe too, you always attract the worst trouble and I don’t want to have to save your ass.”

Din chuckled and pulls away, placing a hand on his shoulder, giving it a reassuring squeeze. “Remember you cause the most trouble.”

“Hey!!”

It’s almost been a day and Din hasn’t returned.

Y/n was told that if didn’t arrive the next day that he should take the razor crest and kid and leave the planet. Technically telling him that he was dead and never coming back.

But y/n didn’t give up that easy, remember he was stubborn and he wasn’t going to leave his family behind.

As y/n grabs a blaster and a few blades he turns towards the child and makes sure that he’s strapped in well on his back. “Alright little one, lets go search for dad and hope he’s not dead.” He mumbles out as he steps off the ship and closes up the hatch.

Putting on some heat sensors in his helmet, he looks around to see his fathers previous footprints. “This way.” He whispers as he follows the tracks towards the village.

Y/n continues to walk in silence, checking on the child every once an awhile. Making sure that he was still their with him and that wasn’t snatched off him without noticing. “If I were a Mandalorian where would I be?” He stands in silence for a few seconds before laughing. “Pfft, what am I saying? I am a Mandalorian, gosh you really are stupid.” He says to hismelf.

Following his instincts he decides to go between two buildings; taking him down a dark tunnel. Y/n turns on his night vision, his steps moving slow as he moves further down the tunnel. It takes him awhile to hear some murmuring up ahead, he crouched down behind a wall and peaks out a corner to see a group of old friends.

“Ugh not these idiots.”

He sees his fathers old bounty hunting friends that he had apparently left behind to rot in the prison cells on a republics ship.

“Think you can run away from us, huh mando?” Mayfield says as he chuckles, kicking mando. Y/n glares at the old group, god he really hated these people.

He noticed that Din was cuffed, his was stripped from his weapons and was lucky enough to keep his helmet on even though he knew that the group was desperate to see his face.

“You killed my brother mando and now we’re going to search for that little boy of yours.” Said Xian as she grazed her knife against his beskar helmet. “I’m gonna enjoy killing him, hearing his little cries.”

She was referring to the child; they had no idea that the Mandalorian actually has a son. His own flesh and bone. Y/n remembers hiding well enough during the prison raid, his own father warned him about these people and ordered him to stay hidden until it was over. He couldn’t risk losing his own kid to a group of mercenaries.

“—since he’s gonna Rot here, we might as well and see what he looks like.”

Y/n gasps, he grips for his blaster as he hears the group chuckle to themselves. Mayfield bends down to his fathers height and reaches Under his helmet. Y/n scans the whole room, calculating the place before he attacks the others.

“Let’s see what we’ve got here.”

Din was trying to shake off Mayfields grabby fingers, he uses his leg to kick him off. Hearing the other groan as he’s shoved away roughly, “That’s it!” Xian exclaims. She takes out one of her blades and places it under the helmet, the end of the blade was pricking dins chin as he winces.

“This is for my own brother.” She whispers out and grins at him as she slowly digs the blade further into his chin.

“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.”

All three of the bounties turn around to see a second Mandalorian. “What the hell?” Mayfield holds out his blaster. Y/n stands his ground and held out his own blaster towards mayfield and Burg. “Get your hands off the Mandalorian.” He grits out in anger.

Burg chuckles. “This one is tiny, we can easily take him.”

“I wouldn’t underestimate him.” Din suddenly says, catching the others attention. “What’s that suppose to mean?” Xian asks. But Din could only smirk at them.

Without the others knowing Y/n was moving quick, shooting mayfield on the shoulder as he pulls out a blade from his lower pockets, bending down quickly as he blocks Xian’s own blade.

He throws his towards her, aiming for her side but she shifts to the side. Causing his blade to collide against the wall.

Next came burg; now he was bigger than y/n but that doesn’t stop him from trying to take him down. He waits for burg to make his first move, he glanced over to see Xian taking out another blade. Throwing is at his direction causing y/n to jump to the side as burg gets stabbed on the chest. He groans deeply and glared at Xian who only hissed at him. “Get him!!” She shouts.

Mayfield turns around to see the smaller Mandalorian gone. “Where he go?!”

“Up here.”

Mayfield looks up to see the small Mandalorian jump down on him, landing on his shoulders as he wraps his legs around him. Knocking him down to the ground he takes out a pair of cuffs and quickly cuffs him up before he gets thrown back by burg. Slammed against the wall he lets out a small groan and tries to get back up.

“Your small for a Mandalorian.” Said Xian as she walks Over to him. “And you’ll be easy to kill too.”

“I don’t think so.” Y/n recovers quickly and swings his leg under Xian. Knocking her down as he stands up and faces burg, “Hello.” He says to the big and ugly red guy.

Y/n allows burg to grab him by the shirt, yanking him forward as he’s about to slam him down but y/n is quick and grabs his wrists, he uses the wall to push himself forward and slam the bigger guy against the wall, giving him the advantage to climb onto his shoulders and wrap a wire around his neck, he pulls him back and groans. Yanking harder on the wire he could hear the other gasping for air—for once.

As he yanks harder he feels burgs body go numb and tumbled down to the ground. Y/n rolls off him and looks up to see Xian holding Din down with another blade against his neck. “Drop your blaster or he gets it.” She warns.

Y/n knows that his father could easily get out of her grip but he wants to give y/n all the glory. He knows that y/n wants to prove hismelf worthy and show him that he can be a proper mandalorian.

“Put the blade down before I decide to claw your fucking eyes out.!” Y/n shouts out in anger. He noticed Xian flinch at the teenagers harsh words. “I would listen to him if I were you.” Says Din.

Xian’s attention goes to the Mandalorian, causing an easy distraction as y/n runs forward and body slams her against the wall. Hearing a crack as Xian’s body falls limp. “Shit, I think I killed her?” Y/n says as he bends down to check her pulse. “Nope she’s breathing she’ll just have a concussion.”

He turns around to face his father and removes the cuffs. “Good job.” He hears him say as y/n smiles. But before Din could continue on with his praising he slaps him upside the head. “I told you that if anything happened to me you were to leave!”

“What?!—I just saved your life!!” Y/n protests back.

“Where’s the kid.”

Y/n grumbles under his helmet and points down the dark tunnel. At the end of the tunnel the small gremlin peaks out, his legs ears lowering down in worry as he squeaks at the two mandalorians. “He’s safe.” Says y/n.

“Good, but that doesn’t stop me from getting you into trouble. You’ll be getting grounded once we head back to the razor crest.” Din takes his weapons back as y/n gaps at him.

“You can’t do that! Not after what I did for you!”

“Won’t change my mind.” He takes the child in his arms and began to leave the dark tunnels with a hormonal teenager trailing behind him. The two continued to argue with each other as they leave the tunnels and bounty hunters behind.

time travel arccccccccccccc yessssssssss

I have been waiting SO LONG to reread this arc hhhhh yessss

starting off strong with the sexy roller cover. nice

I love the disconnect of ‘orion pax: outlaw’ compared to the last time we saw him in shadowplay where he was orion pax: supercop

he’s still punching people for JUSTICE or whatever so I guess not much has changed

oh my god this is the issue with the many many two-page spreads...the first time I read this issue I didn't realize that was a thing and GOD I was SO fucking confused. there's already a lot going on in this issue/arc but this made things so much worse hvbhjkdfbsk. I powered thru and still managed to understand most of the arc despite reading half this issue out of order (essentially) bc the website I read it on split the pages up and I couldn't tell they were supposed to be doubled (and also I'm dumb so I didn't figure it out)

anyways, the actual issue...windcharger is out here using his powers to rip a dudes arms clean off. wow!

and there's skids getting punched in the face. Ls

and glitch! a totally minor character of course...

also reading the tfwiki has shown me that many of jros titles are song or album titles, to which I say - that's epic and I love it. with jro doing it, I feel like it straddles the line between referencing music and the very fanfic-esque ‘title things after music’ vibe. I love it

oh god I forgot they use bs cybertronian time units in this sometimes lmao...I mean of course they do but still like, what the fuck is a cycle. is that a day. I feel like these words all have no meaning/the meanings change drastically depending on continuity. I cant keep up and also I'm lazy and don't care enough to try

I really like the mtmte approach to time travel and paradoxes and whatnot. its just complex enough to be interesting but not too convoluted that it bogs down the story. perfect sci-fi fun!

and I love how at this point, nobody in the cast ACTUALLY knows brainstorm well enough to know what he’s really doing - including chromedome, who’s ostensibly his closest friend, somebody he’s known for a while - and even the readers don't really know what he’s up to...I like the mystery tbh

godddd the line rodimus says abt whirl - how they need people like whirl around who are ‘happy to get in the way’ of danger and death - that shit haunts me man like...rodimus is basically saying that he’s bringing whirl along to potentially die in place of someone like orion pax (nevermind the fact that whirl dying would ALSO fuck up the timeline)...like, how deep does it go?? is he saying that bc he knows whirl has been trying to get himself killed for a while now, or just bc whirl likes violence? mannn I cant...the character intricacies...man

AUGHHH and then we jump to rodimus ONCE AGAIN breaking his own rules and trying to save trailbreaker...IT HURTS MAN...god I love rodimus, I feel like him being broken up about crewmembers like trailbreaker dying is one part regular sadness over people he knows dying for tragic reasons, and one part personal guilt at someone under his command dying, even if he’s not involved/at fault. I love the dichotomy of this emotional reaction that comes only partially from empathy/emotion, but also comes from a kinda self-centered need for success as measured by people under your command staying alive. and taking into account rodimus’s life it totally makes sense that he’d act like that...GAH I love it. the complexity of it all!

oh man that last panel of trailbreaker holding up roller’s juice box...iirc the first time I read this I thought that was roller (cause of the juice box I guess? idk I'm an idiot) so I was like oh ok he must've come back or something. very much related but I didn't really think about tarn being a particular pre-established character and totally didn't read the whole ‘roller is tarn’ thing that was going on

which in my defense ruth also didn't pick up on any of that while reading this and eventually like 2 issues before the reveal I had to prompt her like ‘you should maybe be wondering WHO tarn is’ vhbahjksdfbaksjdf

so! issue 37! this issue is a solid favorite of mine, id say definitely top 5 or even 3. I'm super biased bc I fucking LOVE time travel, it’s seriously one of my favorite tropes ever, and this issue hits all the time travel beats I love. characters traveling to the past and interacting with people they know! conversations that have multiple meanings bc of TIME TRAVEL! trying to save someone who meets a terrible fate in your future! fun time travel action! the time traveling characters being generally terrible at hiding the fact that they're time travelers! ITS SO GOOD.

and I love the clever way everything is tied together here - where we get a nice continuation of shadowplay, with this taking place shortly after that with a lot of the same cast, and time travel classics like the good ole ‘if we hadn't travelled back in time and done what we did, the future we came from wouldn't have existed at all,’ in the flavor of ‘rodimus saving his baby self’ and ‘rodimus NOT saving trailbreaker’ and ‘everyone forgot about roller :(’

ok but like, did the lost lighters just go ‘oh well, guess rollers gone now.’ like they DID realize that the outlaw crew would have no idea what happened to him if they got their memories erased, right?? did the lost lighters figure that since roller never reappeared after this time period, that was how history was ‘supposed’ to go and they shouldn't mess with it? am I overthinking it? as usual: yes, probably. I love overthinking about comics, in case that wasn't obvious

basically...I love this issue soooo much. so so good and a bunch of fun tropes that I love. I mean the whole arc is like that for me since I love time travel so much. so I cant wait to (re)read more!!

stream of consciousness rant under the cut about teddy

teddy altman is the funniest character in the world because he’s LITERALLY /in/ the civil war event in a single panel with billy where they’re both like THIS IS FUCKED UP BRO! I DONT WANNA BE HERE!!!! and then he’s in the skrull invasion event where he could LITERALLY STOP THE SKRULL INVASION at ANY TIME and he’s just like ‘haha... i’m 16 bro and i kinda... don’t want to kinda busy being gay rn : / its a big time investment’ and thats also incredibly funny

but whats MOST funny is that all this happens to him, he’s literally an avenger, he has this whole thing with ‘mother’ in ya v2, he’s hot af 21 year old with his whole life in front of him but because he’s not related to any OTHER avengers except for the old captain marvel who is dead as a doornail and who he has a complicated relationship with, he’s like : (((( i have no purpose.... i’m sad... i’m gonna eat pizza bc my boyfriend is cooler than me he has two families : (((( and he’s friends with doctor strange... i’m not friends with doctor strange...

like obviously he just has depression and self-worth issues and such a strong sense of unreality that he briefly believed he was not a real person and was made up by his boyfriend?

i think my problem with teddy & billy in general is they don’t feel REAL to me in a lot of ways bc a lot of their characterization is so by-the-numbers ‘gay’ but also ‘rich’ and ‘popular’ and ‘depressed’ so i like. this is NOT my gay experience. i’m a fat non-binary butch dyke agoraphobe. i can’t comprehend their story because it’s so fundamentally different to my own lived experience. and when i try to make it match up to mine---it feels like billy & teddy are living in a dream world where they have absolutely no flaws bc they’re forced into being ‘charming gay representation for teens to look up to’ and its like. what am i supposed to do with this. with the exception of the gillen run. which everyone??? hates now????? i don’t know. i love them. and more importantly i’m still trying to understand them on my own terms, how they’re written---what they really represent beyond being the most popular two charcters on r/lgbtsuperheroes, beyond winning glaad awards.

like who ARE they beyond billy and teddy. who are they beyond the labels and whats the latest in nerd culture and gay culture pop culture references!!!!

what makes a ‘canon gay character’ ‘canon gay’ and what makes them textured, layered, real? the second one is so much important to me, but how can i distill ‘realness’ and give it to those canon gay characters? how can i make one half of a pair which is about one third of a set make SENSE to me. feel like the gay people i know, feel like members of my community i can relate to and respect without feeling a sense of jealousy, a sense of self-hatred, a sense of being robbed of a universal experience of ‘canon gayness’ that doesn’t and will never exist?

this just has to be my next project tbh. getting back into young avengers, figuring this out.

how do ‘out gay people’ live, how do the ‘popular kids’ live, beyond maligned celebrities and royal families that i understand in their fucked up straightness---how does it feel to be accepted & acceptable and still gay AND MENTALLY ILL?

i don’t know, man! i don’t know! i think maybe i just can’t see the forest for the trees. but billy & teddy feel like too much to hope for in this world sometimes, too soft a story, too kind but also? too... fake? i got issues yall

Damn this chapter completely blew me away and if this a arc wasn't my favorite arc out of any manga i`ve read before then it certainly is now the hype train just simply wont stop rolling i honestly couldn't stop smiling while reading this chapter. also this review will be a lot longer then most of my other ones as a sort of apology for my lack of recent mha content.

We open up on a flashback as Twice explains to Shigaraki why he can`t clone the bullets ,Though it was a inventive idea, and it seems that this event really fuels Twice`s doubt on his own self worth as he see`s himself as holding the league back as all he`s ever wanted to do is pay the league back for accepting him. small side note but some people think that Twice has been indoctrinated into the league and that`s BS Twice wanted somewhere to belong and he got that, this isn't the message Horikoshi is trying to show through twice if anyone's indoctrinated it`s spinner as he joined the league due to the morals of a man he idolized and even then he`s grown attached to the league. anyway i`m rambling lets move on to the rest of this chapter.

We get this panel of pure badassery as we see twice swarming the field with hundreds of clone`s as the mentioned back up skeptic had set up look on in horror. while i did say horikoshi wouldn't just hand wave his trauma i think this works thematically as twice finally understands who he is so i doubt he`ll be contradicting himself any time soon,

We then cut back to Re-destro ,and the look on his face is priceless, as he stares down at the infinite swarm of twice`s flooding the field however he cant help rubbing salt into the wound of skeptics failure as he just walks out but not before this gorgeous panel

And while i`m obviously curious (pun intended) as to what this failure is ,its not this moment as he states this is not a failure simply a setback, i love the way Horikoshi portrays this barely suppressed rage as he looks like he`s going to explode any moment, clearly failure is his `Trigger` and you can tell that these two have a mutual dislike for eachover and i kinda wanna explore there dynamic a little more.

We also learn ice guys name “Apocrypha” which sounds like the sort of name a edgy 12 year old would name there Skyrim character ,guilty as charged, though its meaning is rather interesting and here i`ll copy paste what it means

(of a story or statement) of doubtful authenticity, although widely circulated as being true.

This is intriguing and since names hold a significant meaning i am curious as to what this is referring to if its Destro`s goal`s (perhaps he wanted to eradicate quirk users through his actions building fear and mistrust surrounding them, though this would be a rehash of Overhaul so i doubt that)

funnily enough apocrypha also has a religious connotation further playing into the cult like status the MLA seem to have. a clever foreshadowing considering the racist fanatics murdered in chapter 220.

Continuing on with the fight with dabi and Apocrypha as we see this panal of Dabi and i was kinda confused what was going on with that look on his face but i`m certain that its due to the pain of overusing his quirk , though you could mistake it for terror. some people thought this fight would be cut short which is honestly ridiculous

We get this hilarious moment between compress and Dabi which i think is giving us some vague insights into his character as despite being shown as detached from the rest of the league his reasoning behind not helping compress is not needing too, also is that a look of relief i see dabi?

Honestly this brings a smile to my face and shows that even though hes overcome his trauma hes still the lovable quirky guy hes always been( pun intended/) also this is reminiscent of how deadpool is with his schizophrenia as its played more for laughs and a personal insight with deadpool rather then the dark undertones with twice.

We also get some semi-insight onto compress as it seems he views villainy and heroics as separate roll`s perhaps due to his stage life thats been alluded to before ,after all everyone would have a set roll and would follow it perfectly, perhaps i`m diving to deep into a simple statement but considering compress will probably have some development soon i wouldn't be surprised,

Horikoshi also takes a moment to explain why we wont be getting swarms of Dabi`s or even Rappa`s and while you could ask why cant those same clones take down gigantomachia it goes against the narrative of the story horikoshi`s wrtiting as Tomura`s plan will most likely what gets gigantomachia to respect his authority

I suppose you could also so that since twices clones are so weak gigan would have no trouble tearing through them faster then twice could make them.

However not to be out shined apocrypha straight up one punch`s them as its revealed that he can control the temperature of his ice, this is probably the power given to him by the supreme leader, allowing him to freeze water then manipulate that ice.

We also delve more into Apocrypha as it seems that in the new quirk sociaty that re-destro plans on making quirks will be equal to status and the morepowerfull the quirk the more status you`d receive, this could also be what the apocrypha in his name is reference to as this could be a lie conceived to manipulate apocrypha into aligning with the MLA. interestingly enough the only the strong survive mentality works well as a parallel to Endevour just something i thought to mention

We also see that Apocrypha`s noticed the toll dabi`s quirk has on his body again a reference to the Touya Todoroki as endeavor stated how Touya`s quirk was ill suited to his body which is always something that i liked when exploring that theory the idea that someones quirk is genetically unsuited for them as it clashes with itself is a fun little idea that can lead to all sorts of possibilities.

We end on this beautiful cliffhanger as the doctor prematurely wakes gigantomachia not out of his own desires but due to being unable to face all for one if Shigaraki were to die here. honestly i like the doctor as a character carrying out the will of all for one despite not excepting his successor it creates a interesting conflict within him.

And the chapter finishes off on this gigantic cliffhanger. this chapter is incredibly enjoyable and well written and is currently my favorite chapter in the series as a whole i just hope that this sudden awakening doesn't cut any development we may have gotten on compress as he`s the character i`m most curious about. Dabi`s pretty much already confirmed to be touya so i dont mind waiting.
