The thing about Mu Qing is that a lot of the time we see him, he doesn't have much but he offers all he has and beyond.

All he had were the few cherries he picked at the cost of being beaten and humiliated and called a thief (as the only poor disciple among many rich kids who could have bought those cherries any time they wanted) to give to his mother and yet when the poor children surrounded him he gave those cherries to them.

He had a cursed shackle and yet he was the only one who offered to accompany Xie Lian, Hua Cheng & and Mei Nianqing to Mt. Tonglu. (even though Jun Wu had told him that his friends would assume that he was a traitor and leave him to die and MNQ & Hua Cheng obviously hated him and he thought that XL & FX hated him, too.) He not only had a cursed shackle but burnt hands and feet and injured legs and yet he threw himself in the lava to fight and buy time for XL. He could barely walk but attacked Jun Wu head-on with his Zhanmaodo. The shackle tightened around his hand and it was draining his blood and his spiritual powers were sealed and his injuries and burns weren't healing and he was dangling from a freaking cliff and his hair had nearly touched the lava and yet! Right when MNQ wanted to help him up he asked him to send him further down so he could retrieve XL's sword for him!!

When XL had just saved Mu Qing and Bai Wuxiang dragged him down Ruoye, which earlier was explained wouldn't do pointless things (and when asked by XL to grab onto something firm and reliable grabbed onto FX & MQ after HC) made a lunge for Mu Qing, because it knew that Mu Qing would grab it and maybe could do something to save Xie Lian. And Mu Qing, having just been saved, balancing on a sword on burnt legs in the middle of running lava grabbed onto Ruoye with burnt hands and didn't let go even when he was overpowered and dragged along with Xie Lian.

And for all of these, he never expects anything in return! No gratitude, no credit, no friendship, and no affection. He just does these things because that's the kind of person he is.

He's the kind of person who refuses to recruit child soldiers, he's the kind of person who sees a random lady going through forced abortion and tries to save her and the baby, he's the kind of person who even when he's chased out of the house by a broom by his friends, leaves the rice he brought with them, he's the kind of person who even if he assumes XL threw the clock on him & pretended not to know him on purpose disguises himself and goes to XL's help, he's the kind of person who tries to save FX even when he has a cursed shackle, he's the kind of person who not only doesn't abandon his friends under Jun Wu's threats but goes after them knowing that at every step Jun Wu will try to frame him and as far as he knows, his friends don't trust him or like him and he doesn't even think they're friends. he's the kind of person who couldn't bring himself to steal one golden leaf from the prince who had hundreds of them in the depths of his poverty to help his mother yet doesn't blame XL for trying to steal that one time because he understands, he's the kind of person who claims that "truly, there's no point in being a good person" but still helps every time everywhere he can. He's the one who when he can't do anything, when he's lost his attacking powers after going for Jun Wu all he can think about is XL who is grabbed by Jun Wu and calls out for XL to run even as he throws up blood. He's the god who when he ascends what we hear of his followers are: "General Xuan Zhen is generous and kind!"

Just...Mu Qing and his unfailing kindness!

You love telling him how much he's achieved, his love and his honesty means to you.

I'm Xie Lian's and Hua Cheng's opinion the greatest gift they've received is a bouquet you made for them

It was very beautiful and even more so when you explained each of their meanings.

Hua Cheng is supposed to be a terrifying ghost but if anyone sees him, he'll have a flower behind his ear

Xie Lian likes wearing the flower crowns you make him, he thinks their pretty and cute

After a while of learning about flowers and their info, Xie Lian and Hua Cheng start to gift you flowers too.

Hua Cheng mainly gives you jasmine

Xie Lian likes to get you baby's breath

Eventually there's a lot of flowers in the house so Hua Cheng goes out of his way to make you a garden

You gave him many kisses after that.

Xie Lian and Hua Cheng love your "love language" of flowers very much!

The fact that his first thought is "I've gone mad" is so devastating to me.

He says this just because he lashed out his feelings...

It's so heart-wrenching how after all the insurmountable amount of trauma he's been through... that he doesn't think he's entitled to express himself and yell out his frustration..

Which proves even more that not even once does he lash out onto others, he doesn't allow himself to burden others with his feelings. He just keeps it all inside..

So for the first time when he broke down in front of Hua Cheng, who is not just anyone, but he's the most important person whom he respects and admires and looks up to and grows to love more and more, the first person in his life who sees him for who he is and adores all sides of him, who genuinely loves his company and wants to be around him...He's so afraid it would push him away, even though that would NEVER be the case.

Logically, he's allowed to break down and who else other than Hua Cheng, to listen to his every word and allow him to vent..

But his first thought is "I've gone mad..."

No, baby. It's only natural that you feel this way. It's okay to scream and let it all out..

And Hua Cheng is there to listen ALWAYS.

Even if the truth was SO important in his current state of mind it's something he wanted desperately to keep hidden.

He believes he deserves punishment but hasn't he undeservingly paid the price 100 times over, in those 100 years in that coffin? He still doesn't see it and still thinks he deserves more and thinks it's not alright for him to break down crying and it's so fucking painful...

E'ming vs. Xuan Su

E'ming propaganda:

I just had to come here and wax poetically about E-Ming. Not only is he a) a deadly scimitar that can and has defeated gods, b) the legendary weapon of the strongest ghost king, and c) made USING that ghost king’s eye, he’s also the goodest boy to have ever existed.

He’s basically a puppy dog in sword form and he just wants love and pets. He’s so expressive and adorable that Xie Lian completely ignore all warnings to avoid him to instead treat him like the puppy he is.

Plus there’s his creation story! (Spoilers for TGCF). Back when Hua Cheng was still a weak ghost on Mount Tonglu, he chose to pretext a group of lost mortals by ripping out his eye and forging E-Ming as a weapon. It was a dangerous and risky choice that could have forever separated Hua Cheng from Xie Lian, but he still did it simply because he cares more about others than he likes to admit. E-Ming represents Hua Cheng’s weakness and humanity and even though Hua Cheng resents him for that, Xie Lian loves him for it all the same.

Therefore E-Ming is a) a badass sword, b) an adorable puppy who deserves love, and c) a physical representation of who Hua Cheng is and how he and Xie Lian perceive him. E-Ming is precious and deserves all the votes (and pets)!

Xuan Su propaganda:

Xuan Su means "Dark and solemn". Yue Qingyuan's sword, vitality important to his backstory. Its so strong that few cultivators can even stand when he pulls it out, even by a sliver. It drain's yqy's lifeforce in exchange for incredible amounts of power! It wasn't even drawn fully during the sealing of Tianlang-jun, and was instrumental to his defeat. Even pidw Bingge couldn't defeat him one-on-one!

i haven't been able to get 'Xuan Su is YQY's erectile dysfunction' out of my head for multiple days and I have one thing to say about it: it's SO funny, please let Xuan Su win so that this extremely powerful, OP, life ending sword can instead be known as YQY's limp dick. Xuan Su is quite possibly the strongest sword on this list. It is so powerful that when Yue Qingyuan first got it, he was forced (via many broken bones) into secluded meditation in a cave for YEARS to prevent a deadly qi deviation, preventing him from saving Shen Jiu, destroying their relationship. And even once YQY grew to be the most powerful cultivator in the world (Bingge couldn't even kill him without an ambush) he still couldn't draw it without it sapping years off of his life every time. YQY had to carry two swords for his entire life because his first sword could and would kill him if given the chance.

Also, in PIDW, after Bingge killed YQY and Xuan Su shattered, Bingge used the shards to taunt Shen Qingqiu and SQQ swallows the shards to kill himself. Imagine swallowing the shards of a sword that belonged to your beloved childhood friend turned kind-of boss who missed you so much even when you were right there and for whom you feel so much bitterness and longing and yet cared for so much that news of his death is the only thing that could have broken you, even after years of horrific torture. The drama of that alone should win it some points, I think. (submitted by @slythavakna)

You two are almost inseparable, together all the time

What this means is he takes up 99% of your attention, the other 1% being your own survival

So the rare time you were away from Hua Cheng, you found yourself bored

And what better to do with your free time then roam the village at night?

However, you didn't expect to find a stray, and it looked so helpless, you couldn't leave it on its own!

So the rest of the night was spent looking for items to care for your new friend

When getting back to Hua Cheng and your shared home, he looked relieved, until he saw what you had

"Whatcha got there?" He would ask you

"This is our new son!" You enthusiastically reply

The next few days you spent babying the feline, your beloved was not happy

For several days he tries to get your attention

Pick up lines, gentle touches, he's obviously become more clingy

"Come on! I'm sure he's got an owner worried about him. Just drop him back off at the village." He argues, trying to get your attention

"And risk leaving him as a stray again? Never!" You fight back

It was after a month he convinced you that the cat would function better with humans than with ghosts

Hualian

Xie Lian is known for being kind and helpful to those less fortunate than him

So it wasn't surprising when he brought home a cat that clearly needed help

At first Hua Cheng admired Xie Lian silently, worshipping the man for being so kind to everything that he can help

However, that all stopped when Hua Cheng noticed the cat was taking all the attention

Xie Lian should have eyes for him only!! Not some stray that could survive on its own now that its taken care of!

After this realization, Hua Cheng subtly hinted that the cat should be let go

Saying things like. "I'm sure he's had enough of us." And, "You know how free these guys are."

Xie Lian didn't listen though, insisting the cat should stay just a bit longer

Hua Cheng knew he couldn't convince Xie Lian, so one day while the latter was out, he set the cat free and never said a word

"What happened to the cat? Did you see where he went?" Xie Lian asks

"Not a clue, must've been sleeping while he snuck out." Hua Cheng replies

Xie Lian knew, he saw the cat in the village that same day it was set free but never said a thing

Sorry to bother you, is My journey worth watching?

what: period cdrama // completed // 24 eps, roughly 50 mins each where: iqiyi (i think most eps are still vip-locked) (standard disclaimer that i don't use eng subs so i don't speak to the quality of the subs) why: ngl, i was in it purely for zhang linghe to start, but then got !!! over cheng lei and lu yuxiao, and was too invested to quit even when the plot got sloppy. extremely gorgeous cast, extremely gorgeous set. the cinematography?? chef's kiss. you can see the budget for this show was good. the relationship between the characters? v interesting.

story revolves around the Gong family who is v prominent in jianghu even though they live up in the mountains and keep themselves sequestered away from the rest of jianghu. the Gong family itself is split into 4 different factions: Shang, Jue, Zhi, Yu.

Yu 羽 - the Yu household deals with internal affairs. the head of the Yu household is the head of the Gong family (the title is Sword Wielder or zhiren)

this is our male lead, gong ziyu (a baby). second son of the Yu household. his dad is the zhiren and his big bro (gong huanyu) is the named heir who will inherit the zhiren position. has a v lukewarm relationship with his dad. introduced as being quite useless. his martial arts is :/ and he sees no need to improve his skills etc because his brother will be there to protect him.

is quite suddenly thrust into the position of zhiren when his dad and his brother die under ~mysterious circumstances :(

Jue 角 - the Jue household deals with...external affairs, they are the ones who leave the mountain to Get Things Done outside and manage all relationships/partnerships outside

gege step on me this boy is gong shangjue, head of the jue household. he is The Man. the pride and joy of the gong family. everyone (*cough*i say everyone but really yuanzhi-didi does it enough that he counts for everyone*cough*) worships him. martial arts skills?? loyalty to the gong family?? incredibly attractive resting bitch face??? he is a 10 no matter how you assess him.

missed out on being the zhiren by virtue of him not being home when tragedy struck the old zhiren and gong ziyu's brother. doesn't think gong ziyu has what it takes to be zhiren and take care of the Gong family. my boy gong shangjue would make an Excellent zhiren tbh

do i have to seduce y'all into watching this i think i have to:

Shang 商 - the Shang household develops/produces weaponry

for most of it, the show has a p dark vibe, BUT whenever gong zishang shows up, we know we're in for some laughs. this zishang-jiejie is the eldest daughter of the head of the Shang household.

her father doesn't take her v seriously because she's a girl (also because she's always following behind gong ziyu's personal bodyguard jin fan like this: 😍💖🤞🏼; valid life choices tbh because same) but she does take her craft v seriously! ride or die for gong ziyu.

Zhi 徵 - the Zhi household develops poisons

YUANZHI-DIDI!! this boy loves two things: poisons and gege. #1 gong shangjue fanboy at least 10 years in a row. parents died when he was p young, and gong shangjue took him under his wing. whiz at poisons and v fight fight fight (ง •̀_•́)ง. is suspicious about everything and VERY protective of his gege.

alright that's the main Gong sibs all sorted. there's also an assortment of Inner Mountain (houshan) characters that are v interesting but i won't get into because 1) spoilers, 2) this post will get too long if i get to talk about hua-gongzi and xue-gongzi/xue-tongzi.

okay so the Gong family live in p much a fortress up in the mountains. no outsiders are allowed in, and only a select few are allowed out of the Gong family territory at all. we learn that this is to protect the Gong family from Wu Feng, a spy organisation which has p much taken over jianghu. Wu Feng learns that the Gong family will be holding a bride selection contest thingy for gong huanyu, and sends:

yun weishan, a low-ranking assassin in Wu Feng (Chi, the lowest out of 4 ranks chi, mei, wang, liang), disguised as a bride.

her mission is to be picked by gong huanyu as his bride, and become the next zhiren-furen so she can p much feed intel to Wu Feng. when gong huanyu and the old zhiren both croak, her attentions turn to gong ziyu who is by that point already 😍🥰😘 over her anyway NO SURPRISES. the 恋爱脑 on that boy istg, absolutely head no thoughts only yun weishan at least 20 hours in a day.

shangguan qian, a higher-ranking assassin (Mei, one rank above yws) in Wu Feng

my love my wife her mission is a little different from yws. her target isn't anyone from the Yu household but gong shangjue instead. the goal is to get her hands on this secret weapon (this is also a v HMMM part of the plot but no matter we endure what we have to) that the Gong family is safeguarding.

the relationship between these two wu feng spies is so interesting too!! they're not friends, not exactly allies, but also not quite enemies. they will help each other out if they really have to (and only if it doesn't jeopardise their own positions and there is adequate compensation), but will also not hesitate to stab each other in the backs if it serves their respective missions.

i needed like 100000 more scenes of them together ngl

ANYWAY the plot revolves around the Gong family trying to Catch The Spy, the Wu Feng spies trying to Complete Their Mission, gong ziyu trying to Prove Himself as the zhiren, and ofc there's romance sprinkled around. that's p much the gist of the show.

listen listen listen... i know this show has a bad rep in the cdrama circles, i agree. the plot is......HMM and it tries to hard to be one of those clever mysteries when it should just be what it is which is p much an idol drama?? i mean...it is a guo jingming show, we weren't going in expecting to be wowed by the plot. i think if they'd just stuck to the basics, this would have been a stronger show, but imo this wasn't bad bad. the worldbuilding was good and the characters were interesting, and like i said, the whole thing is shot really beautifully!!

the ending was......but i'll keep this spoiler free and just say that it was HMMMMM and v unnecessary what they did.

with the preface that i watched it without much expectations as to the plot, i enjoyed a lot of parts of the show! it's an incredibly easy watch, and because it's only 24 eps, the pacing is quick and conflicts don't tend to drag on for too long. if you're looking for some easy entertainment, i'd say go for it, but if you have Standards regarding plot etc, this is probably not the show for you

I would like to ask if the POV switch is what you were talking about the other day, the choice you were gonna make that you were nervous about, because IF SO I have a SPIEL I'mma go on (it's positive, I promise, I just have opinions, bc it was Good but also I don't want to just assume that I've correctly guessed which one you meant)

HFJFHDH YES 😂 I was kinda nervous about these in equal parts:

1) the POV switch itself (even though it's Relevant and It's Time and also I Love Writing Hua Cheng)

2) The Return of the Gratuitous Parentheticals (risk of overdoing it)

3) My portrayal of Hua Cheng?? Like. The man is fucking unhinged, and his inner monologue HAS to be chaotic and self-loathing and missing scenery details to focus on His Highness, but I didn't know if some people would be like "you made my babie hua cheng too weird and stalkery you don't understand him :(" when like, yeah, he's that crazy and obsessed and anxious and SWEET the whole time, and we love him for it. But I guess I was worrying over nothing? 😅 I'm honestly having a great time lol

oh I love love love tgcf, loving tgcf literally changed the trajectory of my career. I love tgcf so much I co-wrote a series comprising almost 100k words of post-canon continuation. I love tgcf so much I have four tgcf-related tattoos.

hualian is love and light and healing. san lang is my smarmy baby boy, and xie lian is my sage king ferret rat prince. i wrote a fic about the degree to which they are baby boy/ferret rat prince here.

(unsolicited tidbits below)

Xie Lian woke slowly, leisurely, in the loving arms of his husband. His heart stirred with affection. His heart stirred with mischievous intent.

...

“Good,” Hua Cheng nodded, his shape rippling as he returned to the more mature form that he’d forged in the kiln of Mt. Tong’lu. “Then come to bed; you’re too far away and I want to be coddled. Didn’t you say you’d coddle me? I want it now. We can talk about my rewards too.”

my absolute favorite is he xuan, though, which is why my tattoo of him is my entire inner bicep. i tried to write a fraction of my affection for him into a post-canon character study in which hua cheng tattoos him (badly).

but I'm particularly fond of and will eventually finish my post canon wip in which he teaches mu qing sex ed (badly):

The Supreme Ghost King, Lord Black Water Sinks Ships, hissed at Mu Qing like a particularly curmudgeonly catfish.

...

"What do you know about matters of the flesh?" Mu Qing asked when He Xuan looked away to guzzle the complimentary tea the server placed before him. He Xuan proceeded to choke, but Mu Qing merely rolled his eyes. It was He Xuan's fault for drinking the tea as if he'd never been forced to behave in public. Then again, Mu Qing thought back to what little he remembered of Ming Yi and considered that perhaps he hadn't ever been taught how to behave after all. Mu Qing took a delicate sip of his tea and pitied Ming Yi and his terrible table manners.

The reality of what Mu Qing had done set in. He'd invited a god-slaughtering, divinity-snatching calamity to a meal solely to pry from him the secrets of the bedroom that Mu Qing had assumed others were graced with while he was dutifully cultivating on Taicang Mountain. His horror was matched only by his frustrated libido.

...

"And," Black Water Sinking Ships said at the crest of a great sigh, "I'm not teaching you how to have sex." "I should have known better than to ask you," Mu Qing huffed, adaptable as ever. "How could I expect someone like you to know anything of clouds and rain?" "Do you think I spent centuries in the Heavenly Realm yet can't recognize negging?" He Xuan retorted.

i think the thing about tgcf/hualian that makes me the most feral is the way that it’s not sex-centric, but is more focused on the actual relationship between them.

i do love me some spice, my ao3 tabs are never going to be seen by another human ever. buuuut, the way that hua cheng is so devoted and will simply do anything he can to keep xie lian safe is beautiful.

it’s gentle. it’s delicate. it’s love in the most basic form.

hua cheng encourages xie lian to do things that makes him happy. things that hella cheng doesn’t necessarily agree with, but he’s never going to step in and tell xie lian he can’t do something. instead hua cheng will stand beside xie lian and keep him as safe as he can.

also, on that note, i really appreciate that even when xie lian does something that hua cheng doesn’t particularly agree with, hua cheng doesn’t guilt or lecture xie lian. they simply agree that it wasn’t the best way to handle something.

i hate slow burns, but this relationship and story is truly so captivating that i’m not even missing spicy scenes. i just wanna see them interacting and appreciating each other. they both have such a deep respect for each other.

i also can’t help but lose my mind at the fact that most power dynamics would have hua cheng treating xie lian like a baby, and he absolutely does not! it’s a breath of fresh air to see them both on equal ground regardless of one of them having significantly more power and money. hua cheng isn’t there to fix all of xie lian’s problems and i fucking respect the hell out of that.

yes, hua cheng has the thousand lights temple, and paradise manor and has invited xie lian to live with him. but it was a fleeting moment. hua cheng has even said that the puqi shrine feels most like home even though it’s an over crowded little shack.

and the use of spiritual power, even though hua cheng has a significant amount of power, he gives without question. and it’s never done in a showy way. he just offers the use of spiritual power when xie lian needs it.

also… the way xie lian is growing more comfortable in his relationship with hua cheng and gets more casual with touches and hand holding and what not. i truly cannot handle how soft they are with each other.

they are disgusting and i love them sm. 🥲

TGCF donghua Season 2, Episode 7 thoughts

More screaming about TGCF. As usual, very good ep. Spoilers for the show and the book below.

T-T Hua Cheng is so mean to E-Ming/himself.

Mu Qing is so happy he made his dice T-T And Feng Xin stole them!!!!

The crocodile monsters are really neat looking. I'm wondering why the creative team didn't just stick with designing monsters instead of what they did in that one episode.

Splash war alkdjaldkjalj This episode is for the FengQing lovers, truly. They're the best/worst. Love them.

Meanwhile Hualian:

Hua Cheng to Xie Lian: Whenever you need me, baby, call me, beep me, if you wanna reach me

Xie Lian being the typical "dude you didn't specify it had to be swords and being weird about it is stupid" is my jam. I love him.

Xie Lian to Lang Qianqiu: "I have always been like this." -gazes into the distance sadly- "You just didn't know."

This makes me T-T T-T T-T I just love like the central message about how much of our perceptions of people we know informs what we "know" about them. And how it's very easy to let other people draw their own conclusions, and how dangerous that can be. And how people will blame the gap between their perceived reality and reality on the subject of their perceptions, and how dangerous that is.

Xie Lian to Lang Qianqiu: "Don't make an inviolable monument to me in your heart without my consent. -camera focuses on San Lang- I am not the person you imagined. And in the end, it's your own disappointment."

Subs weren't as noticeably bad this week (some awkward phrasing in places but mostly nothing egregious). Though why Qi Rong is the "Green Immor" is anyone's guess. Wouldn't be as terrible if they didn't repeat it so much.

I completely forgot about those HAHA– I hope your travel back home was well!! And I can be ur hypeman!! Ur works are always stunning (and ik many others agree, so u technically have many hypemen) but you truly are very talented, so no matter how big or small ur works are, they always deliver and are very good <33 /gen /pos aahhhdjwaks ur too lovely and a tad bitter but that's okay Dove <33 /t /j /pos

Wuuhhhdjsh,, Wei Wuxian who loves to show you off, but when one day the rolls switch, where you are the one showing him off as if he's your omega, he's feeling all soft and weak in the knees, his chest fluttering in joy at the thought of you adoring him as much as he does you,,, he will always find excuses to cling to you, both before and after he became a demonic cultivator. Him sometime biting your neck (as you do to him) and loves to see others reactions to it, because no matter what, you two are meant for each other, even if others don't seem to fully understand it.

Luo Binghe definitely wasn't the most "alpha"-esque alpha, you can't help but find it so cute at times <<333 Sure, his possessiveness and aggression to others who get close to you are definitely (somewhat) expected, but those moments when he willingly submits to you, sticking to you like taffy and being anything but an alpha towards you, well.. it'd be a lie if you were to say that you weren't at least a bit effected by it </33 Yes, he turned, yes, he used to be a beta, but the fact that he is now an alpha, still emits those alpha tendencies towards others but not you,,, even when he grows very confident and stronger, when he is so pliant towards you, only you, so willing to shed tears and keen into you, begging for your attention, for just a small kiss for how good hes been, just a small one— hhdbskdhs baby boy baby <333

CHU WANNING, who may be becoming too... dependent on his disciple — of course, he cares about all his disciples, they are all members of the pack, as a teacher and students should be, but he is so implicitly and at the same time clearly favored towards you,,,,,

hates when you smell someone else, even if it's other disciples, constantly rubbing against you and scenting to get rid of the fragrance that makes him feel disgusted, touching possessive feelings that he didn't even know about before — until one day you and other disciples were engaged in random scenting in the winter in an attempt to warm up and establish contact (especially with those, who suffers from a lack of bodily contact, which is especially common in winter due to the lack of skin-to-skin contact and a small amount of sun), before visiting him — and Chu Wanning does not understand whether he is sick from the abundance of smells or because these smells are on you, but you stink so much that he can't help but try almost from the threshold, rub against you, ridding you of a mixture of other people's flavors and replacing it with his own, jealously snuggling — but you obediently accept, also slightly rubbing against him, leaving your smell that always relaxes him, but rather waiting until CHU WANNING feels that now you smell only of him before letting you go out of his hands, purring contentedly, and returning to the role of a calm and cold shizun (not so cold and calm though, but you prefer don't talk about it out loud), finally having the opportunity to be alone with you, even if he is not the best conversationalist — until you find a suitable topic and he becomes almost terribly talkative, especially for his usual personality, feeling the desire to answer your every question and explain everything that causes you perplexity.

but what can he do? you are too precious, too perfect — and even after getting used to giving and working without waiting for recognition, CHU WANNING cannot deny that you seem to have been created to complement each other, even if he has long grown out of these fairy tales and understands that this is impossible. but you smell so charming, alluring, and at the same time implicitly, as if specially smelling so nice and soft for his hypersensitive nose, which does not tolerate any strong aromas that are inherent in most people or even things,,,,,,

maybe neither of you two had a choice from the very beginning — especially when his teeth touch your skin, understanding little of what is happening under the influence except that his is hot and divine, feeling like he puts a mark for the first time in his life on something very desirable and important — while you are lying, not so confused by the label, but rather amazed that it was you who turned out to be what he so longed for. leave a mark on your neck? is this shizun's dream? you are so puzzled and confused... ,,,,,,,,

Thoughts I had during TGCF S1 Ep 12

Ok then, last Episode of Season 1 let’s make this though reaction compilation count!

-We are back in Puqi village folks

-Ooooh pure domestic moments!!!!

-I freaking love how Xie Lian says ‘The Crimson Rain Sought Flower’ Howard Wang’s voice could act as my new sleeping aid

-No he hasn’t called him ‘his highness’ throughout this whole

-Oh yeah San Lang does treasure you dude

-Heck Yeah he was your groom, and I even officiated that ceremony in my first reaction! (I’ll type that iconic quote near the end of this Episode peeps!)

-It’s totally the first possibility ‘nuff said

-Never change San Lang, never change

-It was the lack of the heartbeat in Ep 9

-Hua Cheng didn’t strike fear into my heart as well

-Oh Pot!Yue unintentionally cockblocked em! Pot + Ban Yue = Pot!Yue

Well that was Season 1. I’m going to take a long break from doing these reaction posts, because I have an upcoming final project to complete in art, and I’ve got Christmas gifts to make. Bonding Trip

Post-canon Xianle trio take on kayaking: MQ in the front, XL in the middle (not paddling), and FX in the back.

Except they keep going in circles.

XL is supposed to be giving orders but fengqing keep clashing 😭

MQ: “Fengxin, I swear to god you better stop telling me what to do - I’m literally in the front and have the best view of where we’re going”

FX: “ok but just because you’re in the front doesn’t mean the rest of us can’t see, idiot. I’m doing my part so I don’t know why the fucking kayak isn’t turning LEFT for some goddamn reason-“

MQ: “oh, so we’re doing the blame game now?”

FX: “does blaming have to be inherently wrong? WE’RE NOT MOVING-“

Meanwhile, XL is staring down the stream and thinking to himself: “hmm, the water is moving faster that way hmm”

It’s a waterfall.

Fengqing: [still arguing]

XL: “waiT gUYS”

Fengqing: [not even listening, not even rowing at this point]

XL whips out the backup paddle and accidentally thwacks both MQ and FX on the head.

XL: “GUYS WE HAVE TO TURN AROUND NOW”

MQ and FX finally seeing their impending doom: “…shit”

Fortunately, all three martial gods manage to row against the current and end back up on calm waters. That is when they finally capsize the kayak because MQ and FX try to take a swing at each other and XL ducks right in time to dodge-

SPLASH! They tip over in a fit of shouts, the last thing heard being: “I hate you SO MUCH!”

It was MQ.

MQ who pops up from the water like a wet cat - NOT a happy camper at all - glaring daggers at FX who bobs up and down a few feet away.

XL is just chilling. At first, he made sure he still had on the necklace with HC’s ashes, but other than that, he didn’t particularly care about what state his clothes or appearance was in.

In fact, as XL is treading the river, he thinks the water is actually kind of refreshing.

MQ: *COMPLAINING AND SCREAMING IN THE BACKGROUND*

FX: *occasionally screaming something back when he’s mentioned*

XL, absentmindedly: “Honestly, the river is kinda refreshing.” 😇

Suddenly, the silence is deafening.

MQ: “the fuck did you just say?”

XL: “I-i just said that it’s not so bad, isn’t it? It was too hot today-”

MQ, popping a vein: “YOU- YOU- Y-“

MQ can’t even collect himself enough to speak. He’s visibly trying not to choke on angry tears, just seriously regretting even agreeing to this so-called bonding activity. (Not really though.)

Minutes later, FX and MQ are still arguing - trying to strangle each other at this point - while XL is floating on his back behind them.

None of them notice how far away their kayak is drifting.

Also, where did their paddles go?

When they finally agree to swim to the shore, MQ is left behind as he isn’t the best swimmer compared to FX and XL.

It’s only after telling FX, “At least we’re still together, which equals good memories,” that XL looks back-

Right as MQ’s head goes underwater.

“Motherfuc-“

XL gasps in shock.

“GAHH MU QING JUST DISAPPEARED-“ XL exclaims, doggy-paddling in place as he points to where MQ was just seconds ago.

FX also turns around.

“Let’s leave him.”

XL: 😠

FX: “oKAY oKAY LETS GET HIM”

So something dragged MQ under.

Merpeople? Water dragons ? Human-like sea creatures? Who knows. But there’s a whole underwater civilization that Xianle trio find themselves in.

The creatures that pulled MQ under were just babies and thought he was pretty, so they kidnapped him. XL manages to communicate through body language and is welcomed enthusiastically - somehow he makes friends everywhere he goes!

And then one of the sea creatures tries to wife FX up. FX is hell-bent on swimming tf out of there, has wanted to leave the moment he was approached.

World’s away, HX feels it in his bones that XL is getting into some shit: “Someone go collect this man.”

It’s him. HX is the one who ends up finding Xianle trio, tracking XL down to say, “Xie Lian, get your ass back to Hua Cheng, he’s worried about you.”

Because the spiritual energy doesn’t work in the underwater kingdom, XL couldn’t inform his husband of his whereabouts. The Xianle tiro + HX begin to leave, but the creatures apparently want them to stay and try trapping them.

HX is not having it.

HX: “not on my watch- or else that one-eyed freak will have my head”

HX effortlessly helps the Xianle trio escape. As they break the surface of the unsuspecting lake, HC is already waiting above shore as he had received a signal from HX hours earlier.

HC sweeps XL up from the water and immediately dries XL’s clothes and body.

“Gege seems to have had quite the adventure today.”

XL smiles up at his husband, leaning in for a warm hug.

“A true bonding experience, haha.”

FX, MQ, and HX: 💀💀💀
