I've been thinking a lot abt fanfiction lately
And that like, beyond just saying "anyone can write it" because anyone can, one of my favorite parts is that sometimes, your favorite fanfiction author is a person working at a fabric store with no degree who you think writes smart, and sometimes the person has a bio-engineering degree and only writes filthy, beloved PWPs, and how both of those things are SO good, and maybe a little funny in some ways
But I also think about how like, a lot of the time now, as fandoms age and time passes, sometimes your favorite writer is actually a 50-year old mother of four who was writing in webrings before I even discovered LJ and how I actually know people who used to pass fanworks through email and watch their favorite shows on VHS mailed to each other and it's just really cool like
All these things that connect us, and how age and occupation and even generation doesn't necessarily matter, how some fanfic writers are published authors but they still post on ao3 and how cool it is for people to love something so much they do it for free

so funny that the titles and descriptions for vectors recipes keep mentioning that he doesn't have money or needs to buy groceries or that you can make this dish on a tight budget or something . vector the crocodile only victim of capitalism in the sonic universe

100% don't punish the growl and listen to your dog and your puppy is not an evil mastermind AND ALSO seeing how Melis behaved today and latey, feeling very validated in our approach to her outbursts of screaming thrashing gnashing teeth being less "sorry sorry never mind" and more "ok buddy are u sure though"
time will tell if she has another ride on the melty brain hormone train coming (Sparta didn't - but she might) but at this moment in time, Melis is a pretty tolerant, people-oriented, socially intelligent little dog who's displaying some very pleasant traits. and who has not growled or snarled or gotten near threshold in many months. at this rate our worst puppy might end up our best dog

an uncle nina check in <3
hi team! thanks for sticking around! i know my blog isn't always the most exciting and enriching place in the world in terms of content, but i am very /content/ to have you all here. <3333
i promise, oddly enough, i have A TON of inspiration and ideas for all my weird styles ( if you're curious about anything please lmk! i've been trying to flesh out my aus out lately ), i've just been in a major bummer depression era lately, so it's hard for me to get my asks done and i'm having a hard time committing to finishing my writing. :<
i think it's because of stress and my bipolar, but i am trying to get back on the horse! ( are we all laughing at the idea of me trying to get on a horse? i'd start crying help city girl fail moment for me ) yeehaw!
and while, unfortunately due to the instability ( fabulous legendary iconery ) of my pretty girl popstar personality, i do not know whether i will be answering almost no questions or one million, regardless of that, i just wanted to let you know, i'm still here, still kicking my feet, twirling my hair, cooking...i'm just really trying not to force myself to put out anything i don't like...and only do what makes me truly happy.
however, nothing, my dear sweet e-darlings...
makes me happier than coming home to all of you. <333
so thank you for flooding even the darkest corners of my life with bright light, supporting my phantom fics and being wonderful,
uncle nina xx

the truth is im not sure if any other towns with ivy leagues in them tend to have the hatred and resentment for the school that ppl from new haven often have for yale. id love to just sit down and chat with someone from another ivy league town bc like. is it just the combo of a school full of very rich prep school kids in one of the poorest areas in the state where our public schools literally does not have the funding or curriculum for a lot of students to qualify for the college in their own fucking town or is this a wider issue in other places
