More Eldritch Steve
Holly does not get scared easily she knows that her Stevie, her monster will protect her from anything she is afraid of no matter what or who it is.
Holly has always known Steve was a monster, she saw him as he really is when Nancy first brought him home.
She should have been frightened, should have hid from him in fear, but Holly has seen monsters, she saw them in Will's wall, she knows that Steve isn't a bad monster, not when he crawls under her bed to growl at the ones that live there or the way he sat all night against her closet door to keep the one that lived there inside.
He's a monster but he plays dolls with her when she asks, even after Nancy broke up with him.
Nancy got upset when Holly didn't warm up as easily to Jonathan as she had Steve.
But Nancy doesn't see Steve, not really, she sees his human image, his mimicry of humanity, she can't see, or maybe won't see, the monster that Steve is.
But Holly sees it, him, sees too many teeth bared at Ted the first time Holly heard him raise his voice at her mother, she sees him in the darkness that crawls through her window to check on her late at night.
Holly can see Steve the way he really is, he's her monster, her protecter, her safety net that she knows will always be there for her when she needs him.
So, when Holly gets scared, when Ted raises his voice and her mother's rises to match, she crawls out her window, uses the tree to get down and starts off to the dark of the woods where she knows her monster hunts.
Holly knows Steve will know she's there as soon as she enters the woods, he has never once lost her while babysitting with Nancy, even when she wondered off too far from them, he knows where she is, always.
He's her monster, he'll always find her and keep her safe.
Holly yawns and lifts her hands up when Steve looks down at her, she's safe now, nothing bad would be allowed to happen to her now.
Safe and sound in Steve's hold Holly Wheeler falls asleep, unaware of how her life is about to change.
--
Don't ask me what happens, I don't know yet but enjoy Holly pov.

There's a version of the "don't go grocery shopping while hungry" rule specifically for writers where you should never under any circumstances be allowed to touch your draft within 3 hours of reading a really good story. Because sometimes when you read something great your head goes "fuck this is so much better than my stuff I should make that more like THIS instead!" Look at me. That's the devil talking and you should close the document NOW.

It’s crazy to me that Adventure Time had such a perfect ending, and yet 5 years later it seems like CN/HBO Max have been in consistent talks for spin-offs for it, and those spin-offs have actually been pretty consistently good

-hello from the void
Eldritch Steve
Part 13
-
Karen Wheeler is not Stupid, though at times she certainly feels like it. She certainly feels it on her fifth Anniversy, just after Nancy was born and she waited up all night for her husband, Nancy at a babysitters and the fancy dinner she made going cold as the candles she lit burned themselves out. Ted had been gone three days, a surprise business trip he had forgotten to tell her about. He hadn't acknowledged their Anniversery either.
But Karen is far from stupid, she may have gotten only a Mrs. Degree from her college experience but she'd had gotten there with high grades and two classes left for her degree in nursing.
So, she notices when Mrs. Harrington suddenly has a son only a year older than her Nancy, she notices there is only a passing resemblance between them and none with Mr. Harrington.
At first she thinks, and is not the only one, that Mrs Harrington, had an Affair for a child her husband couldn't provide, at one point she even considered that Mrs Harrington bought the boy to raise him.
And then Nancy brought him home and Karen knows. She's not stupid, not unobservant. She learns very quickly after that first introduction that Steve Harrington is not human, at least not any more than Wayne Munson is. They are alike in that Karen realises.
But while Wayne's time in their world hardened him to humanity except for his nephew, Steve's Softened him. There is a gentleness to Steve that Karen's instincts tell her do not belong, instincts that tell her to flee, take her daughters and son and run and pray that Steve does not give chase.
Her observations, however, tell her that Steve will die before harm comes to her children and for better or worse she has decided to trust what she can see over what she feels. Even if eventually Steve harms Nancy or Mike she knows that he won't hurt Holly, he'll protect her before all others, in a way Karen believes that Steve considers Holly his own child. She knows this in her heart, has prepared that if anything should happen to her Holly will go to Steve over Ted, over Nancy, over her entire family.
Steve gets Holly, Karen made sure of that. Steve might be some kind of monster but he has a soft spot for children, her Holly especially even after Nancy chose Jonathan.
Karen knows Steve Harrington is a monster, just like Wayne Munson is.
But she knows he won't harm her children.
Karen Wheeler is not Stupid, she can't help trusting Steve to keep her children safe, she knows he won't fail.

The wrong DNA test
( what if, Sheila wasn't really Jason's mother? The system is already corrupted, then what about the test?).
A huge brawl containing every rogue had started at the time of Halloween, causing the people from downtown to fled there home's as joker had clownized the whole neighborhood with his goon's.
Every bats had taken to groups to take out the three parts of Gotham's as the rogue's had started to make alliances, some had lasted quite long while had conflicts, and causing a big damage to Arkham asylum,
It didn't take long before they captured all of them, none of the bats questions as they observed Jason glowing green eyes starting to flick, they thought it was the pit again, growing wary of the cooperation, but Crime alley was involved and that mean business to Red hood's turf.
Catherine todd love her son as her own even if not biological, Jason knew that. But her thing with drugs couldn't make her stop.
Sometimes after that, they could hear Jason humming a tune,a nice melody from Damian's statement saying that Jason muttered to him “ lullaby” as Jason continued to read his book, maybe it could be from Catherine,
they knew how Jason's past with Catherine todd, his mom even if not related, Catherine loves her son like her own kid but her doing drugs and... overdosing couldn't be stop.
Maybe Jason just remembered his mother maybe reminiscing atleast something familiar...even if it was a bad time.
Jason had constantly have been hearing a woman's? Man's? Voice, singing him a lullaby...it soothing, like as if he known and loved this melody...and that's where the dreams kept coming, there was a person, giving him kisses, Talkin to him stories, singing him lullabies and soothing him, he could dream that he was actually a baby, a baby from a normal couple, well don't count the luxurious baby room.
Jason had took out a conspiracies why he was getting this dreams, ( he swears he's not becoming Tim) and voices, maybe like a misshapen memories from the pits of victims? No it's to peaceful for that, maybe magic? He already contacted Constantine but surely hang up after knowing who it was-
Just how is he getting this dreams? Unless it wasn't.... So he proved again his point, he started a DNA test, again but none had records...of Sheila being his biological mother...that was weird, last time he had a test was from the time as robin..and before his-
So he went to that hospital who had said where Sheila had given birth to him, and most of shock is that no one knows a mother giving birth named Sheila haywood but had a document of a baby, of one Jason jay nightingale, the most believing part was that it's the same day he was born in.
His mother, Daniel F. Nightingale was said to be trans as the doctor who help his mother safely delivered him, And saying that his mother loved him,
one Sheila Haywood had the constant trick to get him and taken him as his own, because his mother's family was a wealthy one they practically sold him to her.
Jason had thought that maybe his mother's family never wanted him to have a son with a man from Gotham's crime alley.
Meanwhile Danny had just been YEETED to the DC universe before the start of Batman's justice thing and had been adopted by a very wealthy fruit loops couple as there kid, so he stayed as the couples daughter even pretending, because he owed ghost writer a favor for the last time, and as DC universe exist so it's story, and one thing for sure the child he had to give birth in this universe has a very complicated fate,
he did the one night stand from his supposed friend Willis Todd? He had to befriend him as Dalia F. nightingale the supposed Wealthy daughter who fell in love with a peasant trope, and gotten pregnant making it a scandal, and reaching to his ‘parents’ circle and getting that drama.
But he never thought he would care for his child, his little jay, his ghost side would purr in delight when they held Jason, he was a very hard sucker especially from his pacifier or his breast, it's so weird being in a women body,
but the way his ‘parents’ sold his son to the women who was supposed to get his son killed and being revived by cheap parody ass of ectoplasm.
He went feral, he had an argument to his ‘parents’ but all fell deaf ears, he couldn't find his son in one of the hotels nearby where that BXtch was.
And that time was where his part of the script was fulfilled, ghost writer already took him, both sides of his, were angry.
He. will. get. his. baby. back.

the current attack on pomme really highlights the qsmp’s ongoing conflict of characters vs narrative. because at this point, it’s obvious the eggs are Doomed. whether it means killing them fully or just taking them down to one life, they’re not making it out of this unscathed. it’s clear by pomme’s actions—defying her parents and continuously leaving her sealed room because she’s SUPPOSED to die, the story says so, so she has to break character and move it forward.
and yet. she’s kept alive. because the characters said no. there will be no more egg deaths. they don’t care what the story dictates. that ends now. they’re not just fighting the code, or the federation, they’re fighting the narrative itself. pomme is currently alive because while the universe said no, the characters said yes. yes because they love her too much, yes because they’ve seen too much carnage, yes because as long as they’re still alive, they will not let others dictate their story for them. and i think that’s just such a cool aspect of this approach to live mcrp, because really, there’s two stories being written. the stories the writers want to tell, and those the players/characters do. sometimes they work together. other times, like today, they’re opposing forces desperate to win over the other.

Leo as a character is deeply tied to the very concept of identity that it is deeply ingrained into every aspect of his character and in this essay I will-
#rottmnt#rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles#rottmnt headcanons#rise leo#rottmnt leo#no but I’m being so serious Leo and his struggles with identity are so prevalent in his story throughout the series#he’s a liar and a schemer and masks 24/7 and thinks he’s nothing without his family all while failing to establish himself outside of them#and it’s SO INTERESTING#like some of his main characteristics are his PERSONA and his SUBTERFUGE#pretty much the one interest he has that is not related to his family is magic tricks aka more persona and deception#one of the only times he goes off on his own is to get some rest and relaxation#and even then he HAPPILY changes a part of himself to even be allowed that#this is all also interesting in how he interacts with his family#he knows people and he’s good with words#his pep talks his goading they go hand in hand#and he’d rather people be annoyed or angry at him than be allowed to see the nothing he believes himself to be#Leo struggles with his identity because deception is the backbone of such a large part of it#and the other part is just him being a part of a whole#one part of a package set#his ego is built by putting on airs and is every bit as fragile as its foundation#I’ll probably add more tags later lbr I’m just so tied to Leo and Identity I could go on and on#AND ANOTHER THING but I also think for as much as Leo wants to prove himself an individual he is also TERRIFED at the thought of being known#Leo is a self sabotaging character who lowers people’s expectations as best he can on purpose

okay so i was thinking of a joke earlier about how in DPDC Amity Park's slogan "a great place to live" is not only city propaganda but also the city lording it over the rest of America for being normal. But then I remembered that, despite how many DCU Cities with heroes in it there are, the amount of cities in America without heroes still far outnumber the amount of cities in America WITH heroes.
So I did a little digging so the joke would still land. Something most heroes have in common is that they operate in major cities. What makes a major city? I found that the general consensus is that the population is roughly over or around a million. THEN I looked up the populations of cities in the DCU that I thought of off the top of my head. So Gotham, Metropolis, Starling City, Central City, Jump City. All of them ranked up to millions in population (most of them were in the tens of millions).
Amity Park's wikipedia describes it as being similar to specifically Philadelphia, Chicago, and San Francisco.
Philadelphia's Population: 1.576 million as of 2021 Chicago's Population: 2.697 million as of 2021 San Francisco: 815,201 as of 2021
Whiiich means that Amity Park if we take that from canon, is probably a major city. There are approximately 19,000 cities in America with probably less than a hundred that are major cities. Adding the DCU major cities wouldn't skew the data too much.
Which MEANS that I can make the joke that Amity Park's "great place to live" is not only just typical city propaganda, but also its Amity Park lording it over the other major cities for being one of the only major cities that doesn't have problems bad enough to warrant a superhero or a vigilante. Cue stage left the Fentons and Phantom :)
Amity Parkers were probably SO proud that they didn't need a superhero. They didn't have to worry about things like 'world ending threats' and 'super-powered individuals' and 'staggering property damage'. And then enter Fentons.
It also could be used as an excuse for why nobody took notice to Amity Park getting ghosts if folks like me aren't huge fans of the notion of a media blackout via Tucker, Technus, or the US Government. Or if you want to keep Amity Park as its urban city self. Amity Park's news on ghosts gets drowned out in a week because there's news on more popular, well-known cities going on every other day. The shit going on in Amity Park is every other major city's regular Tuesday and it gets filtered as such.
#dp x dc#dp x dc crossover#dpxdc#dpdc#plus amity suddenly going 'we have ghosts' could be seen as a case of city-wide FOMO finally hitting so nobody believes them#and thats if the belief of ghosts not being real is as strong as it is in dp canon#the media blackout could also be /city-induced/ too#where amity parkers are so proud of being 'normal' and 'not having superheros' that many of them try and deny the existence of Phantom#and the mayor and news sources themselves just. stubbornly refuse to let news of ghosts get out to the other cities#do you know how much shit they'll get?? they'll be a laughingstock!#gothamites would never leave them alone. neither would central city or the metropolitans or starling city or--#the other big cities will make fun of them :(#my new favorite hc that stemmed from this is that every major city in the dcu is rivaling with each other#there's a lot you can experiment with this idea imo lmao#this whole post sums up my writing and thinking process pr well tbh#this stemmed because im making a childhood friends au short story doc and wanted to avoid the typical tropes about how AP went undetected#from the rest of the US. bc. im not a fan of the media blackout idea via tucker/technus/gov and i wanted to keep AP an urban city#so i had to come up with something else#hence me looking into DCU cities and how many there are and realizing that there is a decent amount of other cities other than the main#popular ones and being DELIGHTED because then i could use that as an excuse for why amity went overlooked. bc there are many cities with#heroes in it. so its not surprising if another city gets a hero TOO. plus the news also focusing on more popular heroes and cities so again#the news of amity getting a hero gets drowned out by whatever new thing the JL or someone from the JL did that week

How do you guys think Tails reacted when he first learned about the ugly duckling tale?
Like, do you think he learned about it when he was still alone, maybe he heard little drops of the story and got enough of a peek of a book to learn about the ending. And him, as a little four year old kid getting mocked, hit and abused because he was a little diferent was constantly waiting for things to get better, for him to get better? To change and finally be good enough to be loved?
Or do you think Sonic told him about that story, maybe read it to him a little after he met him, when he just got to see him as a little brother?hoping to cheer him up, giving him his own interpretation of the story, perhaps telling him that he doesn’t need to change anything to be loved, because just like the duckling, there was never anything wrong with him, he never had to change who he was, he was always good, the rest of the world just couldn’t see it.
