#sketch tag #so uh. pepper is kind of a guts basically jdjgkckkc #they're both in an army and they butt heads a lot bc pepper is big and stronk but very impulsive and reckless #but there's no griffith situation or anything like that it's just that vince worries abt her #and he's way more restrained as a fighter and a strategist. maybe a commander or second in command #and just like in vtm he's very paranoid and afraid of change. so he worries abt her and is also unhappy in the army but too scared to leave #so he broods a lot and mopes around and gets on her ass abt her recklessness #and just like in vtm pepper is impulsive and has a lot of pent up frustration and she uses the battlefield to release all of it #sometimes overexerting herself and nearly getting herself killed #she also wants to leave bc she's not sure she believes in what they're fighting for anymore. but then she loses her coping mechanism #things change when they have an argument where he reveals he cares abt her sjfjjfkf YES very cliche I am thriving #and she's dismissive at first but after being alone for a bit his words start sinking in #and when they're on a battlefield again there's a moment where they have to retreat and she's about to absolutely not listen to that #but then she has a change of heart bc she remembers what he said + she cares abt him too so she doesn't want him to be hurt by her actions #neither by him getting worried nor trying to come to her aid and putting his life at risk #so she retreats #and he's very happy abt that he thanks her later for what she did #and then she's like yeah sure I guess I didn't die but also guess what. I'm bored #everything she wanted to release back there she just didn't. so she's still frustrated and especially bc she had to admit defeat #and she's an extremely proud person. she's irritated #and he's like aight. I'm gonna fight you then #and she's like what. and he's like yeah #so he picks up a sword and throws another one to her and there's a *sexual tension play-fight* hell yeah babey #I'm having sm fun w this au can you tell jejfjckckkc #eventually they do desert the army they're in bc things get worse and pepper decides she no longer wants to be a part of it #and in a fight or flight moment she pushes vincent to make a decision and he leaves with her #and like the story is only getting started there bc then there'll be some big misteries in the story they're gonna uncover #which. Tony and Peter are both determined to figure out what the other wants for the holidays 

The two are on surprisingly even ground: Peter's spider-sense doesn't consider this a threat, and FRIDAY won't snitch. They both have to find any "bugs" the old fashioned way.

Soon enough the whole Ironfam is wrapped up in it. November and December become a time of yearly paranoia, everyone watching what they say and "checking for bugs."

#dj subatomic supernova #djss #no straight roads #nsr #fanart #a lot of notes i have in the image itself but i'll talk about them in the tags #i like to headcanon nova in youth was an o-class main sequence star aka big blue star that is bound to supernova #that shit is BRIGHT like 800000ish times our sun bright so even at a portable head size it's like a literal eyesore #kid to adult nova probably had to wear a helmet for others safety (an inconvenience to be sure) #but that would inherently condition them to have a more eye-based narrowed vision with a more frontal view of the world #which was helped a long way by being blinded by their own luminosity at the back and sides of that helmet #even if their vision was kinda dimmed and muted thanks to the visor being as shaded as it was #which is why when nova's a- well- supernova the interior of their hoodie not only is white but emits light #practically speaking it would be an inconvenience as the dj of a lowlit club but what if it was a habit that was a layover from being a sta #and to that: vision as a star and vision as a supernova are like two completely different logics #if a star is one celestial object that can view everything in every direction- a hot cloud of space dust is just trillions of staring eyes #compound eye having ass #from 20 or so years being blinded by their own light it does mean that not EVERYTHING has sight #let alone the 'used to be internal' contents of nova's head that kinda swirl in no particular direction #but whenever those blind spots happen to swirl their way up to the glass nova may get spotty vision #probably more a visual snow rather than any cataracts just because of the shear number of space dust particles #which means poor nova the dark gets littered with static and stargazing has a little more stars than they were used to #though it might also be because they aren't perpetually wearing sunglasses anymore but then again shades are different than visual snow #i have no idea where i learnt this (i think it was a humans are space orcs thing) that spacewalks can be utterly TERRIFYING #so i don't know if this was a nasa (or other space organisation documented) observation or general fear of space moment #but if folk are terrified with their binocular vision to float around in an ever endless void of stars and systems- how would nova feel? #i mean sure they utterly revel in space (they're an astrophysicist and ex-professor for it for god's sake) but they're now IN space #and it was just after bunkbed junction crashed their concert and took apparently their helmet and headphones as a trophy #bestie having omnidirectional vision in space is one thing it's another to literally have the place your vision comes from spread out! #i mean being the object that is their head it's not going to run completely away from them
