I’m so happy with this gradient it’s soooooo smooth. This shawl is a real challenge to knit both because of the structure of this yarn and the actual pattern itself is written in a way that’s really frustrating, but at least it’s beautiful enough to only be slightly extremely annoying.

He's going to be scrunched until i cast off lmao.

Behold! The Mallorn Shawl begins life!

The beads work, but just barely. I would have been happier with 6/0, but whatever. The deed is done,I don't feel like waiting for two weeks to do it again.

These eight rows were an hour of work. It's not a hard pattern, but the beads do slow it a little. But it was going faster by the end.

Now finding time to knit in the first place is going to be the real problem. Can't have beads around the tiny tot. He'll relocate them somewhere and I'll never find them. He's helpful like that lately.

Finished my first attempt at a virus shawl today...after about a week because I somehow worked a lot on it on the last few days, lol. The end result looks better than expected, and since the pattern is pretty easy to do I'll probably do it again with variegated yarn to get a nicer colour pattern next time.

Shawl 13 is officially out of the naughty pile. I was having joint pain while knitting Blanket 9 and realized that going down in needle/yarn size would help and hey, it really really did.

Idea fir FaaF during the period after the accolade where PK and WL ignored their kid "because it's for the best"

PK loses one of his shawls ans Flower finds it, so they decide to bring it back to him, except their parents are away for a bit and their bedroom is locked (they COULD teleport in but it feels like such an invasion of privacy) so they just stand there and wait. But it's late and it feels like a long time they've been waiting, so they sit down on the ground to rest, they're getting quite tired now and can't help but absentmindedly fidget with the shawl is their hands. Weirdly enough, sitting there and holding it reminds them of when they were little and their dad would carry them or even let them rest on his lap whenever they got tired.

Eventually PK and WL return only to find Flower in front of their bedroom door, having dozed off against the wall with their head rested against their knees and face buried in their father's missing shawl, clutching onto it almost like a child holding their plush toy close

#thylacines can talk #faaf au #in all fairness these shawls are BIG and comfy to the touch i would have dozed off too if i was just sitting there holding one for hours #flower has had problems sleeping after the accolade thanks to all their guilt riddled nightmares but doze off surprisingly well while #hugging their father's shawl as it reminds them of their childhood and calms them. theyre not gonna tackle that nor their daddy issues #anytime soon. and similarly neither PK nor WL will immediately tackle the fact that the child they convinced themselves hates them is just #sleeping in front of their bedroom coz they were waiting so long and hugging that shawl like a teddy bear. no sire #its denial city all the way #but it does eventually eat away at them and makes them think and reconsider
