Pit debrief put out an article collating the drivers opinions on the Alonso Brake check incident (here)

Lewis being one of the only drivers sympathising with George’s fear, being concerned for him, and calling out Alonso’s behavior as unjustifiable where other drivers said George should have just expected it…

Hamilton added that he didn’t “understand” Alonso’s move, pointing out that Russell found himself in a precarious position as a result.

“The stewards obviously found a reason to penalise. If I try to put myself in Fernando’s position I can’t understand the manoeuvre, but I’m just glad that George is safe. It’s a frightening position to be in, in the middle of the track, with cars coming around at great speeds.”

It’s almost like the guy who’s had to deal with Alonso the longest, including being his teammate, might know exactly what he was trying to do.

i think what really sells me on brocedes is the fact that they still, to this day, live in the same building. isn't that crazy??? your ex best friend with whom you had a very public falling out with still lives in the same building as you. no one told them to stay there, they chose to do that!!! like nico, i understand. he's got a wife and kids. it'd probably be too much work to uproot them and move somewhere new. but lewis? every time i blink that man is at a new fashion show or fuckin hanging out with shakira. he does not have to live there!!! he does not have to live two floors away from his ex childhood best friend!! and like i know for a fact that there are other luxury condos or apartment or whatever in monaco!! he does not have to do this!!!

It’s the best podium to be on. The British crowd is one that’s just… I would say here and Italy are the two places, in Monza, you know, that you have that huge crowd on the straight, but the atmosphere here is fantastic and it’s a privilege to be out there, specially to share it with another Brit as well. Very very cool. You finished in a better position compared to your starting place. The safety car maybe helped you a little bit. Can you tell us about the performance today in the race? Yeah well, I think that in the last year and a half the safety car’s always happened in the wrong time for me so finally to have it lined, I mean the goal was to use the medium and go long until the safety car came so, I waited and it came so, I’m very very fortunate for that. It helped us leap from the other guys and yeah, that’s just, that's good strategy.
